Sorry I couldn't find a new thread. If there is one already, I'll have this deleted.

Will get links etc brought over from last thread too.

Me too @Sprayitall I wonder how many are in the UK?!

michaelbaubles · 12/03/2020 14:04

I thought the COBRA meeting started at 1.30? That's what time they were going in on the Guardian live blog.

pemberlyshades · 12/03/2020 14:04

Really @AlohaMolly well then I may continue stakeout!

MrsWhites · 12/03/2020 14:07

Any guesses on today’s figure? Should be out anytime now.

Legoandloldolls · 12/03/2020 14:07

Checking in for today. I went to sains today as I have Tesco coming tonight but forgot to buy greens! It seemed very civil today. Still hardly any pasta or soap. Do people not normally wash?!

People must be getting desperate - they are buying wholemeal pasta now 🙂

I walked along the river into the shops and had a tea and cake in a favourite cafe. Felt good. It's making me wake up to what I take for granted. Like going to the beach and sitting there all day while the kids swim in the sea last year. Will we be able too this year?

Still feel a bit panicked but this morning was good therapy. I might be going out for dinner tonight as well

TiddleTaddleTat · 12/03/2020 14:07

@pemberley I have those symptoms and am off today and will be for as long as needed. I have kept DD off as she seems to have similar symptoms although much milder.

84TinsOfBeans · 12/03/2020 14:10

A school in Bridgend has closed now

Legoandloldolls · 12/03/2020 14:14

@DontGoOrGo it depends what your appt is for. If AMD or glycòma then personally I wouldn't risk my sight. I have had a AMD scare and my life would implode if I went blind

MyHipsDontLieUnfortunately · 12/03/2020 14:15

I think I'm going to find myself in a tricky situation in that Wales might well close schools while England won't, which will mean I'm working while my kids are home. DH and I will simply have to share it.

Readyme · 12/03/2020 14:15

@Pluckedpencil thank you so much for that Noah's ark is a brilliant analogy when the time comes for us I will share that idea on my church messaging system. Thank you so much for sharing.

Readyme · 12/03/2020 14:17

@MyHipsDontLieUnfortunately I was wondering about those that commute and travel between England and Scotland too.

PancakeFiend · 12/03/2020 14:17

Where did you hear about the school in Bridgend @84TinsOfBeans if you don’t mind me asking?

rhij86 · 12/03/2020 14:18

Radio 2 saying announcement following meeting won't be until 4.15pm. I'm going to be optimistic and say it had better bloody be because they are actually taking it seriously and going to take some proper action.

Not holding my breath though :-/

itsnotjustflu · 12/03/2020 14:22

There will be a nation sat on the edge of their seats at 4:15..... no sign of today's figures yet?

Sprayitall · 12/03/2020 14:22

No sign of figures yet..

ofwarren · 12/03/2020 14:23

HeronLanyon · 12/03/2020 14:23

Thanks for update re timing. Currently self isolated here doing deep clean of flat listening to Elaine Stritch ‘at Liberty’ - taking my mind off everything. Will keep at it until 4 ish.

Sprayitall · 12/03/2020 14:25

Two more deaths though..source- guardian live

itsnotjustflu · 12/03/2020 14:26

10 deceased (2 more)

Thank you @ofwarren

MrsWhites · 12/03/2020 14:27

590!!! Goodness me, when are they going to do something!!

itsnotjustflu · 12/03/2020 14:28

I know it's ridiculous @mrswhites

Moodykat · 12/03/2020 14:28

590 seems a big jump. And two more deaths. Come on Cobra - do something before it's too late!

Elsa8 · 12/03/2020 14:29

Wow, that’s a massive jump.

temporarygate · 12/03/2020 14:31

My uni have just announced that they will be stopping face fo face teaching from 27 March (and earlier is government recommend it)
Students can stay in halls but lectures will be cancelled and all learning will be online

tryingtoprep · 12/03/2020 14:34

Are the deaths "elderly with underlying conditions"? So sorry for all the families.

I sometimes feel I'm hallucinating. It just seems too far fetched. There's a pandemic being taken seriously by most countries worldwide except the UK. It feels unreal. I'm very glad of this thread. I'm not going mad, it is real, I'm not being "hysterical" by believing the WHO.
