Hi

Just after moral support from anyone maybe going through the same. Just discovered I am pregnant, I have 2 children and we are just not in that place any more to be having any more babies. I am
absolutely gobsmacked that I am pregnant. Decided to have a medical abortion and just want it done asap. Soonest appointment from BPAS I could get is Friday. It seems like forever away and I am in complete limbo. I can’t think of anything else. I’m so upset that I have to do this!!!! Is anyone else in that waiting phase? I just want it to be over with!

@jklrck Thank you for sharing your story. I wish someone had taken the time to make me realise the importance of being 100% certain of your decision before going ahead with this. I feel that I went ahead with mine without really thinking about whether it was what I wanted to do. It's not been easy to live with. I've been reading articles on existensial regret, which seems to sum it up for me.

ya i just think its important to make people aware that unfortunatly for some people its not a feeling or relief there is the feeling pf guilt and regret which can be hard to live with , i never intend to persuade any ones decission everyone is different i only hope i can give people the insight to making the decission who are unsure to think how they may feel after its really important . o hope everyone is ok and know they are not alone x

An update on my story- it turns out the scan was wrong (the one that told me everything was still there) which was a huge huge relief. Apparently it was probably fluid on my scan which they confused for the amniotic sac. It was just some retained tissue which was confirmed on a scan 2 days later. Again this was such a huge relief and put my mind at ease as I was baffled as to how I could have passed so much blood and tissue after the pills and yet the whole thing still be there? Despite the small amount of tissue the doctor informed me that she wasn't concerned and because I was still bleeding and the tissue so small it should pass without the need for a surgical procedure. I was given a 7 days course of antibiotics as a precaution, my bleeding stopped following that course. The nurses kept in close contact throughout with e-mails and phone calls which was great and it was decided that because I'd stopped bleeding and also had a negative pregnancy test 4 weeks post pills no further investigaitons were needed (I was advised not to carry it out at 3 weeks due to the retained tissue seen on scan). It's nearly 5 weeks post procedure with no further bleeding and my hormones feel back to normal (or normal for me anyway).
Just an update as my story was very confusing but the hospital handled things really well for me, despite getting the scan very wrong. It was hard being on a miscarriage ward as I felt quite guilty, this was the hardest part for me but the staff were so lovely and non-judgemental and the nurses kept reassuring me. One nurse explained to me that everytime you're on a plane, a train or simply wlaking in the street 1 in 3 women will have had an abortion. It is a part of necessary and essential part of health care for us and not be ashamed. Very happy to have it all done with and happy to hear about the negative pregnancy tests on hear.

Hi guys was just wondering when people got their first period post abortion? I took my first pills on the 27th Jan so it’s been nearly 4 weeks since I took them. I’ve been getting period symptoms like cramping and mood swings etc but was just wondering when people have had theirs?

@MC2603 mine arrived at 5 weeks exactly x
