Medical abortion- waiting for appointment

Just after moral support from anyone maybe going through the same. Just discovered I am pregnant, I have 2 children and we are just not in that place any more to be having any more babies. I am
absolutely gobsmacked that I am pregnant. Decided to have a medical abortion and just want it done asap. Soonest appointment from BPAS I could get is Friday. It seems like forever away and I am in complete limbo. I can’t think of anything else. I’m so upset that I have to do this!!!! Is anyone else in that waiting phase? I just want it to be over with!

So I’ve just inserted the 4 tablets. Lay with a cuppa and a book now for half an hour. I hope things get going quickly.

Good luck!! I've got my appointment next week so looking forward to having this all behind me also. I plan on telling myself that's its just a heavy period as thats what ive readnits very similar to. did you get any codeine or extra pain relief?

Hello, i hope it all went okay for you. I'm 4 weeks so quite early and booked for the appointment next week but i am just flip flopping between what on earth to do! I don't have any children currently. I'm keen to get the abortion done as I've read the earlier it is the less symptoms. But how was it for you as you were a little further along? Maybe I should take more time to think things through

@JLF99 how was it for you? Do we need thicker pads, strong painkillers, hot water bottles. Hope your doing ok.

Are any of you following the pregnancy restrictions? It's odd, i know i'm not continuing with it but i'm still not using ibuprofen, drinking coffee, using cough syrup, taking the tablets i use to not get heartburn etc.

Hi @JLF99 how did you get on? And how are you feeling now that its done? You read so many stories on here about people regretting it and feeling terrible but I really don't see myself feeling like that. Just feel relief thinking about it!

Literally nothing yet! Been nearly 2 hours. Starting to worry nothing is going to happen!

@Chunk9 do you have more to insert if the bleeding doesn't start? It is early days, hopefully it starts to kick in soon!

after 4 hours. The midwife said to use them anyway, just to be sure, it won’t hurt to use them anyway.

We have progress! I can take the last two tablets shortly but now bleeding and passed a couple of clots. Pain isn’t bad at all!

Things are steady. Not flooding but like a steady medium flow period. But clots when I use the loo.

I am famished though. January diet has gone out of the window today, husband brought me a happy meal in bed and I can’t stop snacking!!!! Lucozade has been going down a treat.

No worries, not sure if it’s overkill but I know these threads have been a lifesaver for me this week whilst in limbo. X

I was the total opposite. I desperately wanted nature to take over and my body decide to discontinue the pregnancy so I didn’t have to go ahead with the abortion. I have been drinking alcohol, coffee, taking painkillers, sleeping tablets. Anything to help me through the wait. I kept thinking the only upside of having to wait was the idea that I would miscarry. X

9 hours since taking the second dose.

steady flow and pass manageable smallish clots each time I go to the loo.

pain is bearable but keep topping up the pain killers.

nasty headache but shall be getting an early night shortly!

Glad you’re doing well and it’s not too bad, early night sounds good 😀 kinda wishing the next week away in the hope that next Saturday I’ll be where you are now rather than in limbo.

I have everything crossed that your experience is as positive as mine has been so far. Just take it a day at a time, try not to dwell, just take care of yourself and busy yourself out with things that make you happy. It will soon come around and you can move forward x

Hi there! Very little bleeding in the night, and light today, pinky and mostly when I wipe. Been cramps and achey but quite mild. I’m just tired today really. Thanks for asking! X

Morning all, just had my telephone appointment, midwife was absolutely lovely, pills being sent and should be here tomorrow, if not Wednesday, my plan is to take pill 1 Friday and the rest Saturday, have a clear weekend.
Lots to cover on the call so find a comfy spot. Good luck everyone.
