I went for a scan yesterday, assuming Id be having my abortion on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

My lmp dates suggest im just over 7 weeks.

My scan showed I was around 5. They said I need to go back in two weeks time to redo the scan as they need to see a embryo and all they saw was a pregnancy sac (normal for 5 weeks).
I am so upset. Will I be over 9 weeks when I go back? Nurse said no- I will be around 7 weeks.
What date did your scan go by?
I'm really struggling, have no one to talk to and I'm so confused . Please someone help im begging you.

They'll be over soon then? Will you still have to have the abortion then? Or don't you know yet.

Do you think I should take some heat pads and a hot water bottle with me? I've never heard of heat pads before!

Yeah thank god! Yeah they said providing it's definitely not ectopic they'll give me the tablets on Sat first lot I take there and sit for half an hour to ensure I don't 'take a turn' then the others I take home!

Heat pads are a god send honestly, I don't half suffer with cramps and they make you feel so much better, if you have a poundshop close or home bargains get them from there otherwise you end up paying through the nose. I always stock up on them

tryingtobestronger · 23/08/2016 08:39

Fingers crossed for you for the weekend then!
I'll have a look after work for the heat things.

Feeling a bit wobbly today. My hips are really sore(?!Confused) feeling sick and really tired and I'm very nervous

Ok so I just got some heat pads. Think they are the right ones. Also bought myself some new pjs. Not sure if I will need them? All mine are short and vest types so I thought I'd better get more full also got some big black knickers and some night time pads

Advicepls7080 · 24/08/2016 05:58

Good luck today (up now due to morning sickness :( ) it'll be fine. If you're up to it later just let me know how you're getting on I'll be thinking about you Flowers

I'm back from the first proper appointment.

Had bloods taken, they talked me through all the procedure, risks and everything, which was quite hard to hear but the risks are rare.

I signed some forms including one for cremation which was very upsetting but it's something they have to legally do.

A std test was offered which was literally a swab I had to do myself in the toilet, so I thought I may as well as it took seconds.

We spoke about contraception and I decided to have the depo injection which should be given before I go home after the procedure tomorrow.

I took the first pill and can't throw up for two hours or I have to go back. I took it just over an hour ago and feel fine , don't feel sick or dizzy or anything.

I have to be admitted into the ward tomorrow where the rest will take place.
The nurses and doctor I saw were great, really nice, really supportive of my choice but honest about the procedure.

This morning has been extremely emotional for me. I'm feeling very sad and lonely, and very anxious about tomorrow. This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do.

Glad you're feeling okay!
Do they not allow you to do the second part at home? Not that you'd particularly want to? Try and remain calm going through with the pill is probably the hardest bit.

I hated hearing the risks I really questioned the nurse about them and she shouted at me saying well you could walk out of here and get hit by a bus there's no point worrying about this ...

BPAS only let you stay in the clinic if you're over 10 weeks and they make you stay for the night.

tryingtobestronger · 24/08/2016 13:35

You are allowed to go home, but only if you have someone there with you. I don't have any support at home so I have to be admitted.

I too asked loads of questions. The nurse (and then later the doctor) answered them all, and were clear and lovely about it. She did tell me at one point that I was asking questions I didn't need to know or even be thinking about, and she was happy to answer them but I was just making myself needlessly panic more, she said it in a jokey laughy way which relaxed me.

I've been following your thread from the beginning and wish you find peace. I had a termination 10 years ago this week and it really is the hardest thing to go through emotionally. Sending hugs to tryingtobestronger and Advicepls7080 FlowersFlowers

tryingtobestronger · 24/08/2016 14:26

Thank you it is very hard Flowers

I've done something and I don't know whether it's silly or not. I ate three slices of seeded bread toast. Which sometimes makes me poo lots Blush

I've not had diarreah.... About twenty mins ago I had a normalise poo (second one today) and now my tummy feels kind of rumbly . Not had any actual diarreah though yet. Does this sound ok or have I messed up the first tablet?!

LottieL · 24/08/2016 14:33

Ring the clinic and ask. Only they will truly know.

tryingtobestronger · 24/08/2016 14:39

Just called them up and they said it sounds ok coa no diarreah . Sorry for tmi x

MrBoot · 24/08/2016 14:44

I've been following your story and hope you are doing ok.

Perhaps ask the clinic what you should eat that will prevent nausea - white toast, bananas type of thing? x

LottieL · 24/08/2016 14:44

Try not to worry then! Put your feet up and try and rest and relax 🙂

tryingtobestronger · 24/08/2016 14:46

If I threw up now it would be ok, as I've kept the pill down for around three hours.
If there was any doubt they'd have told me to go back wouldn't they? I'm just (as usual) thinking too much Blushthanks for the support x

They use the dating scan as a time frame as lmp aren t always as accurate.
You can chose to have the early medical(I think) and that's a oral tablet and one that a nurse will insert inside your vagina and an antibiotic in your bum.
Then you just bleed as if it's a heavy period.
The surgical option isn't offered until over 13 weeks.
The nurse was right to turn you away if she couldn't see a viable pregnancy.
Please don't worry about it too much, as long as you're sure you are making the correct decision.
There are specially trained councilors that you can speak to and the nurses are very very knowledgeable.
We are all here for you if you need to talk it through but just remember, you've got your beautiful son and you need to stay as strong as you can for him.
Hope you don't get too worked up in the mean time! Flowers

Advicepls7080 · 24/08/2016 15:11

You can actually have a surgical abortion over 7 weeks in certain clinics.

If they thought you had jeopardised your pill they would have told you to come back definitely

InglouriousBasterd · 24/08/2016 15:20

Sending you both Flowers

Advicepls7080 · 25/08/2016 05:43

Good luck OP just think this time tomorrow it'll all be over, hope you didn't have too much of a restless night. Flowers

tryingtobestronger · 25/08/2016 09:24

I'm at the hospital now. Waiting in a room of my own for the nurse. I'm so lonely and scared. Just want to go home Sad

OP posts:
Advicepls7080 · 25/08/2016 09:32

You can do it and you'll be home before you know it.

Don't be scared pregnancy is more dangerous than this especially a C sec and you've done that!

MrBoot · 25/08/2016 11:18

Thinking of you since I woke up today trying. This time tomorrow hopefully you will be home and it will all be over.

tryingtobestronger · 25/08/2016 12:38

Thank you, it's nice to know I'm in people's thoughts
