How cool is that palindrome!
Pipsicles and all other cat people, my advice if cat food makes you feel ill, is as follows:
1)Get partner to do it
2 Change to mainly dry food but supplement this with real chicken and fish and make sure there's plenty of water - dry food is hard on cats' kidneys.
Cat litter - sometimes my partner does it, sometimes I do, but I always use disposable latex gloves and an antibacterial hand spray. Job done.
Also, a lot of flea treatments are bad for you right now - get your vet to treat for fleas instead of doing it yourself at home.
As for cats and babies - I can't see why it wouldn't work with good supervision. I was brought up on a farm with cats, dogs and all sorts, and it never did me any harm. My mum's siamese used to pull her hair if I cried, to tell her to get off the sofa and look after me! And we had one bluepoint siamese who followed my brother everywhere and loved him to bits, right from when he started to crawl.
One thing - if you have cats/dogs, and you want a moses basket on a stand or a rocking cradle, avoid the rocking or flimsy stands as they don't look stable enough to cope with a cat/dog jumping up - the rockers are often not very wide based. Get a gliding motion one instead, much safer.
Also, although I was brought up on a farm, I'd still say DON'T go visit sheep and lambs at your local petting zoo/farm during pregnancy because there are some bugs associated with this.
Sorry for all the advice - I seem to have gone off one - - I hope it helps, but do feel free to ignore!
