Hello Ladies,

Im back! called in sick yesterday due to horrible migrain :( and have used up our internet allowance at home so couldnt get on until today!

Bloods came back all fine Grin but... Doc diagnosed me with PUPPP or polymorphic eruption of pregnancy. Plus side is that its no harm to mother or baby... bad side is that it itches like crazy and doesnt tend to go away until baby arrives...meaning 10 more weeks of agony. :(

The rash got worse over the weekend and now covers my entire belly - am on piritin tablets and have some betnevate cream to collect from Boots today but thankfully the major irritation seems to have died down now and today is the first day i havnt been running to my cream every hour to stop the itching. :)

Only problem is my poor DS who has hardly had any Mummy time all weekend due to him not being able to come too close to me cos of my huge itchy belly getting in the way - as soon as he touches it it sets off the itching so iv suffered with terrible guilt from having to let OH do almost everything with him all weekend! :( But it looks like its on the recovery road now so hopefully the rash may even go away before baby arrives...pray for me please! Grin

Glad to hear everyone else is getting on ok, havent started labour bag packing yet, although i am dying to! Trying to save some things for later on as im doing everything far too early!

Re the newborn clothes, i didnt buy any first time round but after he was born we went to Matalan as one of our first trips out and bought a stash to get through those first few weeks because believe it or not his 0-3 month clothes (which looked tiny enough!) were too big for him! - he was 7lb5 so not a small baby, although the newborn things only lasted a few weeks so we wont be buying too many of those ranges this time round. just enough to get us through the early days. Plus if you dont have enough - you will be dying to get out of the house once baby arrives so can always pop to the shops and buy some more! Wink

Off to Boots now on my lunch, feel a slight itch coming on! Envy

Jacksmybaby · 17/08/2010 13:22

Poor u Yummy that sounds horrible! Sad

Is RooBear around? Just seen a post of hers on another thread and think it's her b-day today... happy b-day if you are around Roo!

As you can tell I'm finding it hard to concentrate on work today Grin...

Jenko77 · 17/08/2010 13:36

Jacks thanks for the BF/bottle advice. Think I'll go in without and hope for the best (having previously pointed out to DH which bottles to buy in case of emergency!)

Dilly I know what you mean. Everything I do / plan / think is leading up to D-day, I forget that life will go on afterwards, so I will be able to leave the house at some point (or at least do an online supermarket shop).

Yummy that all sounds terrible, but at least you're on the mend now (fingers crossed!)

RooBear · 17/08/2010 13:42

I am Jacks thank you! I'm not really working today either.....

YummyMummy1208 · 17/08/2010 14:25

So am i RooBear but just cant seem to tear myself away from MumsNet! Grin

My belly has changed shape overnight - yesterday i woke up and now have what looks like a huge beer belly droop - most of my bump is below my belly button and the bit directly under my belly button is rock hard, do you think she may have dropped already ??

DillyDora · 17/08/2010 14:27

So sorry about the rash yummy glad it's nothing sinister but it sounds sooo uncomfy! Poor you! Can you keep the area moisturised (with the betnovate cream? Is there a limit to how much you can use?) - will that help?

oooh, this sweet tooth....it'll be the death of me! I'm going to make chocolate semolina...should satisfy the sugar/chocolate/carb craving!

PatsyIsPreggers · 17/08/2010 14:46

Glad to hear your test results were good yummy, though itching still doesn't sound good.

I'm another one finding it hard to concentrate today and lurking on here! Also been researching the rest of the bits and pieces I still need / want to get. Surprised at how organised you all seem to be, and think I should get a bit more sorted! We did move around the furniture in our room at the weekend to fit Moses basket etc (or more precisely I pointed at where I wanted things to go while DH huffed and puffed and lugged furniture around!)

Has anyone bought a nursing chair / planning to buy one? I've always wanted a rocking / gliding chair and now seems like the perfect excuse to splash out, so if ayone has any recommendations it would be appreciated.

babybunting2010 · 17/08/2010 15:02

Hi Roo- Happy Birthday!

Patsy- I bought our rocking chair out of the local paper, it's a beautiful old fashioned rocking chair in amazing condition and only cost us £30 so well worth looking around!

Yummy- That sounds awful, hope the pills and potions work their magic soon for you!

I anyone else covered in spots? I have tiny little white spots, almost blister type things over my neck and shoulders and they're driving me mad! Just wondered if anyone had any ideas!

I've just been picking my colleagues brain about what to get organised for the labour, she said to get lots of old towels ready, If your waters go at home then you have something to throw over the carpet to try and clean it up and if not you will probably want them to sit on in the car just in case that's when they decide to break!

Is anyone else getting really impatient now???? I can't wait to meet my little girl! SO EXCITED!

x

RooBear · 17/08/2010 15:14

We have a rocking chair in our bedroom patsy, we found it for £15 in a 2nd hand furniture store, there was nothing wrong with it! I'm getting really impatient BB ! esp. now I've reached the 30wk mark

YummyMummy1208 · 17/08/2010 15:26

Ill stand with you on that one BB - getting slightly impatient now im 30 weeks in! Altho im also slightly apprehensive at the thought i will have 2 of them to contend with/share my love with/etc!

I havent put much thought to it but im so worried about coping with the 2 of them - i dont wan my relationship with my DS to suffer but then i want to make sure the baby has lots of my attention too just like DS did - how to comprimise?! Im sure i will cope just fine once she arrives, just these long weeks waiting gives a lot of time to worry about small things!

babybunting2010 · 17/08/2010 15:50

I'm 32 weeks tomorrow so fingers crossed (If they do actually induce at 38 weeks) I've only got 6 weeks, If not then I've still only got 8 weeks!

Hey, if I am induced on the 29th September, can I still come be on the Post Natal thread for the October group?!?!? Please don't make me leave! Pretty please!!! Wink

On the Feeding thing, I've packed everything ready to breastfeed but have bottles and formula at home in case I need it! Therefore not putting any pressure on myself. Am more likely to succeed if I have no pressure.

My concentration levels have reached an all time low Hmm really struggling at the moment!

PatsyIsPreggers · 17/08/2010 15:55

You lucky ladies with rocking chairs Envy -particularly such bargainous ones - will have to start searching in earnest!

I too am impatient for the LO to arrive, but at the same time, don't want to wish away the last few child-free weeks with DH. Trying to make the most of it by going out in the evenings etc, but most of the time all I can think about is baby-related stuff anyway! Do you think we're programmed to become mentally focussed on our babies before they even arrive?

Yummy I don't hink your relationship with DS1 will suffer - can't give much advice as this is our first, but lots of families have more than one DC and there's plenty of love and attention to go around.

Are teh blistery things itchy or anything bb? I've got a couple of little skin tags on my neck where the seatbelt rubs, but nothing like this.

babybunting2010 · 17/08/2010 16:21

Yeah they can get really itchy, was a little worried that it might have been chicken pox as haven't had it before but don't think it is.

They are a bit like spots that you pop but they don't actually seem to pop iyswim. They are all around my hair line and shoulders and neck! Really not pretty! :(

Think I am just impatient to get my body back as well as anything else. Don't think I have coped all that well with pregnancy and now my elephant feet (DH's expression for the huge swelling that has happened!) are actaually starting to be really sore! :(

Hevster · 18/08/2010 03:36

wow, you lot were busy yesterday....

DD has just woken me up so have raided the fridge for chocolate and am catching up,

Saartjie looks like it's good news on the airport strikes for you - it's quite wierd being pleased for someone about something on the news when you have never met them!!!!

Jacks cheers for the hospital bag list, I haven't even contemplated mine yet but I spose I ought to be getting it done, am merrily driving round with the baby car seat in the car but thats naff all use if the baby and I are naked! - not intending to BF either but for you ladies that are my advice would be to be V persistent about asking for help at the hospital if you are struggling as it's not always very forthcoming.

Yummy sorry about the itching, really hope the piriton works

BabyB you can't get off the Oct thread - once you are on there is no escape! I think big babies are great, DD was 8lb8oz and to my immense relief there was nothing very fragile about her and she she had wicked fat legs with loads of folds!!!!

I too want my body back really quite badly!

Saartjie · 18/08/2010 09:00

Morning,

Yes Hevster good news indeed. I am so pleased. The last few days have been really stressful and I can finally relax about that at least.

Only 8 days to go now so running around trying to get stuff done.

Saw MW on Friday. Baby girl was measuring in at 28 cm so just about right according to MW. Glad to have reached the 30 week mark. Starting to feel real big with heavy breathing.

Hope everyone is ok today!

JazzieJeff · 18/08/2010 09:17

Aaaah, baby feels sooo heavy today! Went out for my power walk this morning and it turned out to be more like a power waddle. I think at one point, a pensioner may have overtaken me. Mind you, she did look like quite a young and active sort of pensioner... Blush

Saartjie Good luck with the move, hope you're feeling well.

babyb your skin sounds painful... have you tried sudocrem? It cures everything, including broken bones (or so my mother would have you believe). Seriously, I use it all the time for spots it's really good.

I can't believe how organised people are... hospital bag packed already? Should I have done that? Confused oh dear.

Have a good day everyone xx

RooBear · 18/08/2010 09:41

don't worry jazzie I've done nich. Should really get a cot and car seat....

JazzieJeff · 18/08/2010 10:04

Got my cot and all that biz coming next week... sale on at mamas and papas. Lush.
Car seat and pram still at shop, waiting for me to waddle up the road and pick it up. I really will do it as well, honest...

DillyDora · 18/08/2010 10:36

Hey All Y'all, babyb meant to post to you yesterday (before nocturnal ikea trip) to say I am hating my elephant feet too and wanting my body back! Very slow and out of breath and don't like the tiredness, (or the SPD!) Jazzie I was later getting in to work than I wanted and talking to my Mum on the phone I said I didn't know where the time had gone so she had to gently point out to me that perhaps I was moving a bit more slowly than usual....

We can't fit a rocking chair in the house...shame...

Saartjie · 18/08/2010 10:36

I know someone else said their baby was in breach. I was told on Friday that my girl is in breach. MW said not to start worrying but I can't help it. Apart from sleeping on my left is there anything else I can do to help her turn or should I just wait and hope for her to turn on her own. I guess she still has some time to do this.

JazzieJeff · 18/08/2010 10:39

I read somewhere that kneeling on all fours can help turn your baby. Have you tried looking up some yoga positions to sit in? I've heard that can help, too...

Is anyone else really hungry? I'm so hungry, all the time Sad

PatsyIsPreggers · 18/08/2010 10:41

Lol at the power waddle Jazzie! Grin I seem to have developed a waddle over the last few days too and have really tight stretchy feeling across my tummy where the baby's pushing out. DH was shocked last night when he actually paid attention for long enough to see the rippling across my belly when the baby moved. Usually he gets distracted by the TV and misses it!

YummyMummy1208 · 18/08/2010 11:04

Morning, glad to say my itching has gotten loads better and havent put any cream on yet thismorning - so far all is good! Rash is still there but itching has faded which is great so im happy happy today!

I know what you mean JazzieJeff , I'm feeling rather heavy at the moment aswell. :( Im sure she has moved down as im now running to the loo every 5 minutes to do a sorry excuse for a wee (tmi) and my heartburn has gone. Suppose thats a good sign if shes moving down getting ready - theres hope she may arrive early! Grin

Glad you have the flight issue sorted Saartjie such a pain to have worries like that at an already stressful time.

I have (somehow, dont ask me how!) convinced OH to buy baby a swinging crib Grin there is £10 off the one i want at the moment in Mothercare and hes been working some extra shifts so he can buy it. Im so excited to get it in her room, we just need a few more pictures, the crib and maybe a rug and then our baby girls room will be complete. Grin Grin

Although i havent got onto the whole labour bag part yet...and still need a breast pump! but i have loads of time left yet! Car booting again on sunday i think, we got some great bargains last week!

Jenko77 · 18/08/2010 11:21

Yummy glad you're feeling so much better. Must be such a relief to not be scratching yourself raw and being able to let DS come near you again! Smile

Jazzie I'm really feeling heavier too. It's all getting a bit difficult now and I'm feeling like a complete wuss.

Patsy My DH is the same. Very keen on all things baby related, but having to tear himself away from the TV long enough to maybe see some movement is too much for him! Grin

I heard that movement should be slowing down a bit now as baby runs out of room, but my bump seems more active than ever. If this is the sleep / wake pattern developing, I don't like my chances of getting anything done once LO has arrived!

YummyMummy1208 · 18/08/2010 11:22

Saartjie - i know what u mean, they say dont worry yet as there is still plenty of time for baby to turn but it doesnt stop you immediately panicking and imagining an awful breech birth! :( Hopefully mine has turned now as i think i can feel feet kicking lots above my belly button but im sure she keeps flipping up and down in there still.
I went on the Spinning Babies website, theres some good tips on there on how to naturally get baby to turn around so check it out if you want to try things, i did the exersises for a few days and then got bored of them! but if i get to my next appointment (34 wks) and shes still breech THEN i will panic!
