Sorry to sound like a winge but I really need to!

xxxx

Jacksmybaby · 21/06/2010 12:49

OMG BB that sounds bad! Never had mastitis but that does sound like it from what I've heard! Hang on in there. Take some paracetamol and take care of yourself! xx

KFW · 21/06/2010 13:03

babyb that sounds horrendous! you poor thing. no words of advice i am afraid, as i havent a clue how to deal with it , but i am sending LOTS of sympathy. and at least you have a doc appointment today. x

Jacksmybaby · 21/06/2010 15:06

BB are you still around? Are u ok? Only a couple more hours til GP appointment... hope u are ok...

DillyDora · 21/06/2010 15:51

Oh God BB you might be right, that might well be mastitis, I had it a few years ago and if someone had offered to lop my tit off I would have let them. Poor you! Look, the dr will give you something for it (antibiotics) but also try the old cabbage leaf in the bra thing, it is supposed to help. Literally, you mould a blummen great cabbage leaf around your breast. Mastitis gives you a fever too, don't forget, so keep warm and plenty of fluids. I had it in when I was living in Spain and was given a pain relieving cream to put on my boob which also helped. You poor love, not long till the dr now.
xx

Hevster · 21/06/2010 16:42

BB hope the docs can sort it out, sounds horrendous, much sympathy

YummyMummy1208 · 21/06/2010 21:53

Hi Everyone,

kinda new to the site and due on 25th October - 18 weeks to go today!

I also found out a few weeks ago that we are expecting a baby girl to add to our 2 year old little boy!We were both so pleased to have one of each, seems all my work is done once this one is here!

How is everyones bumps coming along? it seems such a topic of discussion everywhere i go..'omg ur so huge, u r gonna be massive!' or ' uv hardly got a bump at all!' - i much prefer the later as the first one quite annoys me/scares the hell out of me!

Hevster · 22/06/2010 06:20

welcome yummyMummy congratulations on having a girl.

Went into work yesterday for the first time in ages and was really good to see people but am shattered today. On a positive note have realised I am 24+3 so DD2 is now classed as viable and in with a chance of survial - hurrah

BB are you any better?

RooBear · 22/06/2010 08:53

Morning all, so happy today! baby eleanor/kieran kicked for the first time! and the best thing was DH had his hand on my belly anyway so felt it too! - welcome yummymummy I have been told both in the same day, (that I have a big bump and a small bump) so don't know which is right!

YummyMummy1208 · 22/06/2010 10:20

Hi Hevster/Roobear, i know what you mean it just really ticks me off lately when a certain person keeps telling me how huge im going to be and (as shes overweight herself and im normally slim) kind of getting a kick out of calling me fat. Which is supposed to be funny - altho i do not find it funny!
How far gone are you RooBear? Its so nice feeling the first kicks - my OH hasnt got to feel many yet as baby seems to kick inwards a lot rather than outwards so not much to feel! - her newest thing seems to be kicking my bladder - a lot! which means a lot of toilet trips!

Howcome you've been off work Hevster? Hope you're ok and its just normal pregnancy strains? Im plannin on trying to work up to 38 weeks altho wether that will actually happen is another thing!

RooBear · 22/06/2010 10:23

I'm 23 wks yummymummy due Oct 22nd. It was really exciting as a couple of weeks ago I hadn't even felt a flutter

YummyMummy1208 · 22/06/2010 10:41

oh so we are really close then - 3 days between us. How are u finding fitting into all ur old clothes? please tell me u have outgrown them all like me?

I think a shopping trip is in order this weekend as it takes so long just finding something to wear thats half decent every morning nowadays which is hard work with a toddler who wants bekky that second! I really didnt appreciate the ease of the first pregnancy, its so much harder with a toddler to look after and no chance of a lie in - ever! do you know what your having?

RooBear · 22/06/2010 10:59

I went shopping a few weeks back! I can fit into my old dresses/skirts without zips or buttons, had to buy mat. jeans, I can use regular leggings with long tops too at the mo which is good as I can wear them after too!

babybunting2010 · 22/06/2010 14:05

Afternoon all and thank you so much for your kind words!

Feeling a lot better than yesterday, not 100% but a lot better. have been put on antibiotics and have been advised to take it easy! it had actually turned into an infection where I had my nipple peirced (Don't judge me! I was 15 and rebelling against the world biggest mistake EVER! As has caused me to get mastitis twice in my life time!) If any of you get it make sure you go straight to the docs to get anitbiotics! As it's not worth leaving it until it hurts this much!

Roo- YEAH!!! Really glad you've felt baby!

Yummy- Welcome! I hear you with the so big, so small thing! It's really annoying-So big makes me feel I am fat and so small makes me panic that she isn't growing properly!

Hevster- yeah I just got an e-mail saying your baby is now viable, felt quite proud!

Dilly am still gonna go buy some cabbage leaves thanks!

Had a genius idea of wetting a breast pad and freezing it which was so lovely to use last night!

Any way ladies- all your lovely comments have made me feel special and loved!!! THanks guys was feeling a bit low!

xxxx

DillyDora · 22/06/2010 14:19

Hi BB so glad you're mostly ok! Take care of yourself while you get better won't you? The frozen breast pad is a genius idea, glad it helped.

Get well soon!
xx

KFW · 22/06/2010 14:31

hi all. babyb i am pleased it's a bit better.

roo i am happy you've started to feel movements! that's great news. v reassuring for you. i have been aware that i have been really lucky with feeling them very early on. i found it made me relax a bit as i have been so worried about another MC. now you can enjoy being woken up by kicks at 5am!

yummy welcome! i am due on 23 Oct so there are a few of us in the final stages of Oct. this is my first though so i dont have any toddlers to contend with...

i just had a mahoooooooooossive lunch and now want to sleep at my desk

crazyh · 22/06/2010 14:32

hi, sorry to barge in on this thread I was just wondering if there is a September 2010 thread hiding out there anywhere I cant seem to find it ta x

KFW · 22/06/2010 14:40

hi crazyh.

i think it's in antenatal. we are a bit "unique" just hanging out in the pregnancy thread. there's another october one in antenatal i think, but it's a bit busy hence a few of us loitering here and confusing everyone.

Hevster · 22/06/2010 16:39

BB so glad you are feeling a bit better and hope you feel 100% soon.
Noticed sainsbury's had hagen d ice cream on half price today so bought a tub, ate it and now puked it back up - sometimes this pregnancy thing is a right bummer. Was really hoping to get back to going into work but doc won't let me if I carry on being sick , still there is football, tennis and cricket to choose from today and we get to have our HIP £190 so not all bad

DillyDora · 22/06/2010 17:27

So sorry about the sick Hevster is it still frequent? Bah! I didn't even start chucking up till 14 weeks and now I do...though not often. Boring innit? Hope you're a sports fan if you're going to be off work some more!!

Hevster · 22/06/2010 19:49

Dilly not much sport I don't watch thankfully so good time to be off work, sorry you are being sick too - gets a bit annoying but hey ho. Looking forward to giving birth as it means I will be able to have a proper meal!!!

Saartjie · 23/06/2010 06:35

Hi all,
Haven't posted for a while. Developed a lovely chest infection last week so have been in bed since Friday. On penicillin now so starting to feel better but still feel like I've gone ten rounds with Mike Tyson.

Baby has started kicking for real now. She started on Friday and it is amazing. DH has felt it every day now and we can even watch the kicks as they are very visible.

Hope everyone is ok. The weather is lovely at last.

Jacksmybaby · 23/06/2010 12:42

Oh dear lots of ill people!

Saartjie sorry you've been ill hope the ABs sort things out. BB glad you are improving. Hevster and Dilly rubbish that you are still puking (touch wood I haven't for a while although still feel nauseous quite a lot).

Welcome yummymummy and cool news Roo re kicks!

Having a very strange week this week, DH and DS gone to Wales for MIL's 60th (PILs rented a cottage for week for the whole family) but I couldn't go because of work commitments so at home alone and it's very odd and lonely! (Not been without DH for more than a weekend in the last 10 years!!) Still, Bean is kicking lots which is comforting and actually keeping me company in a way!

DillyDora · 23/06/2010 12:59

Hi Jacks hope you're not too lonely! I used to be so great at being home alone, really relished it but I'm dreadful at it in pg! Hormones I guess...

Get well soon Saartjie! Lovely to hear that the baby is kicking

babybunting2010 · 23/06/2010 13:35

Hello all,

I actually wrote a really long post last night and then lost the whole damn thing!

Feeling loads better...If anyone is near a Marks and Spencers please go and buy the millionaires Delight it is a little shot glass that's with all the sandwiches and OMG It is amazing!!!! "shortbread crumb and gooey caramel layers topped with a dark belgian chocolate ganache!!!!" I don't want it to end!

Jacks- I totally understand honey DH been away for 3 days a week for the last 3 weeks which he does regularly but feel really lonely with it at the moment.

Hevster and Dilly- sorry to hear you are both still having a tough time! Hope you feel better soon!

Saartjie was only thinking of you today glad you are ok other than chest infection! Hope you feel better soon!

The boys have all just left our office now to go watch football, kind of wish I was into footie now!
