Cheers Jazzie it's weird, I haven't missed the idea of girlie shoes and clothes tooooo much, after all you can get some splendid boy stuff! Funny though, isn't it? I mean - what do I know about boys?!

mummybeth sorry about the UTI - they're soooo grim, get a good treatment for the thrush & knock it on the head.

Roo hope something can be done about the nosebleeds!

babybunting2010 · 08/06/2010 17:42

Hi All,

Hope you are well, haven't posted in ages as been a bit busy with work! Am V stressed with it all at the moment, am a little annoyed with it all! But hey.

Had to go into hospital last week as bumped my bump and midwife sent me due to being rhesus negative. Wasn't so bad in the end but a little nerve racking, doesn't seem that any cells made their way into my system so everything is fine! Oh well.

Baby moving round like a good un now she kicks like mad sometimes and then other times I panic that I can't feel her. Would say it feels just like wind but without the after effects of actually farting tmi! Hope that makes any sense. Sometimes I think I imagine them or it is wind and then it happens again and again for a couple of mins.

I feel it a lot more at work than I do at home but that might be because I actually sit still at work so that I can feel it.

Apparently a lot of people don't feel a thing until well into 24 weeks but once you can feel it you realise that you have been feeling it for a while. (Hmmmm think I even confused myself with that sentence!)

Might go have a little look at the other thread but I get really confused by how quickly it moves. I don't have enough time to keep up with it!

xx

DillyDora · 08/06/2010 17:49

Sorry about the stress babyb but glad to hear all is ok with bump. I'd agree about the weirdy windy feelings!!!

xx

Hevster · 08/06/2010 18:40

BabyB I share your work stress, it's bad isn't it, I'm working from home and only on day 2 and already being sick again as they are piling the work on . What annoys me most is that I usually thrive when I have too much to do at work! Glad bump was ok.

Jazzie Lelly Kelly shoes are £45 a pair there is no need to mourn them! There are massive shoe advantages to having a boy, for starters the shoes come in practical colours like navy. The pale pink and white shoes for girls are just plain stupid!

Jacksmybaby · 08/06/2010 20:11

Hi ladies, it's nice to hear all your news - thread is busy today!

Having a bit of a crap day, very very tired, meant to have been working from home today but got nothing done, couldn't concentrate and felt quite weepy . Early bed for me I think!

Saartjie · 09/06/2010 08:16

Jacks hope you are feeling better today. I am finding it so hard to concentrate at work at the moment. I usually thrive when I have my desk full but at the moment I just get stressed and want to cry.
Sitting at work staring at the clock. Going for scan this afternoon and I am soooo nervous but excited. Just want to get it over and done with.

Hope everyone will have a lovely day

Jacksmybaby · 09/06/2010 08:58

Thanks Saartjie. Hope all goes well today!

KFW · 09/06/2010 11:46

Hi ladies.

I see it's been busy on here recently! I have been offline as have had a few days to spend with my sis who lives abroad and is over for a bit.

I hope nosebleeds and UTI are sorted now. Poor you mummyb and roo.

I had my scan this morning and ... it's another GIRL! It all looked normal size for everything and I am so relieved. I finally feel that I can relax following the 3 MCs and look forward to a real baby! Woo hoo.

I points out to hubby that he'll be outnumbered by girls and he said that he is going to get a boy dog!

Hope all goes well for you this avo Saartjie

I am a very, very happy lady today.

xx

Saartjie · 09/06/2010 11:51

Wow congratulations to your girl KFW !!
So happy to hear that everything went well and that you are so pleased!!
Counting the minutes until I can leave work to meet DH so we can go to the scan together.
Congrats again.

RooBear · 09/06/2010 11:59

Well I got an appointment with the nurse yesterday and they were lovely. They said I did the right thing getting it checked out and will continue to monitor, also said to look out for brusing on the body? congrats kfw!

Hevster · 09/06/2010 12:03

Jacks sorry you had a crappy day, hope today is better and you had some good sleep.

saartjie good luck with the scan

KFW hurrah, another girl, glad all went well and boy dogs are easier than girl dogs so you can say yes to that one!

MummyBeth · 09/06/2010 14:09

Gosh such a mixture of excitement and stress.

Saartjie good luck KFW I'm so happy for you 3 MCs sounds horrendous - you must be so happy right now!

Jacks Eugh I feel miserable too hun - I'm having the worst day ever today - feeling highly 'hormotional' at the min - like I'm happy and sad at the same time - despite this, I went grocery shopping - only to start wretching and then crying whilst trying to choose some chicken which I can't bear to look at these days.

So, to put things right I spent an absolute fortune bought lots of impractical things and am taking it easy for the rest of the day.

Madness!

DillyDora · 09/06/2010 16:27

Hi All, big love to those feeling rubbish in various ways (((sends hugs)))

And congratulations KFW!

Got a bit soppy over baby clothes in Tesco then couldn't figure out what the weather might be doing when Toby will be 6 months old and my brain folded in on itself and I decided a short sleeved t-shirt just wouldn't do even if it did have a brilliant monster on it.... (also been working but that's less interesting )

LO has been zooming about like a good 'un these last couple of days, it's hilarious!

babybunting2010 · 09/06/2010 16:57

Hello all you yummy mummy's!

Saartjie- Can't wait to hear how it went! It's so fabulous!

KFW- Glad it all went well and congrats on the little girl! and Dilly on your bouncing baby boy!

Mummyb, Roo and Hevster hope your days are a little better just keep thinking of your DD or DS snuggled in your tummy! (That wasn't meant to sound patronising by the way!)

Am sat at my desk feeling my little girl going crazy I swear to god she doesn't like being at work!

xx

KFW · 09/06/2010 17:25

thanks guys! and congrats dilly on the boy.

i think that most people seem to be feeling movement now? i saw some chat about snakes. that is a good description. i described it as firm butterflies but snakes is probably more accurate. i first had them on DH's bday at 16 weeks and in the last week i have had proper kicks which you can feel outside my tum. even more fun!

in fact, DH went to speak to my tummy the night before last when it was wrriggling around and she did a massive kick and got him on the nose! ha ha. maybe i will start her off on karate lessons nice and young...

Saartjie · 10/06/2010 08:14

Hi all,

So scan went really well. Everything looked and measured as it should. Such a relief. Had a fantastic sonographer who explained everything to us. Initially the baby was sleeping but she poked it a bit and it started wriggeling around like crazy.

It took ages before it stopped crossing its legs so that we could see properly but eventually it did and we are having a GIRL!!!

I am the happiest mum to be today. Have been walking around with a phoney smile since yesterday. Just so so happy. DH is really pleased as well but think he was sort of convinced it was a boy and now has to get his head around it being a girl.

Can't wait to start picking out the pink stuff.

Jacksmybaby · 10/06/2010 08:48

Hurray! So happy for u Saartjie!

KFW · 10/06/2010 09:14

Yey Saartjie! I logged on just now eager to see your results. I am so pleased everything looked good. Such a relief isn't it. Yet more girls. Love it!

Hevster · 10/06/2010 09:36

Yeah, more girls, really please for you Saartjie

babybunting2010 · 10/06/2010 09:47

Congrats on your little girl Saartjie!

Quick question for you all.... I have just asked my Manager if I am meant to have had a health and safety assesment whilst I am pregnant and he has just got on his high horse, had a bit of an embarrassing go at me in front of my colleagues asking what I think I am at risk of and then gone off in a strop! Did I make up that they are meant to undertake H&S Checks because right now I feel like I have asked them to bow down and kiss my feet not undertake a risk assessment (Which I have never had in the 2 years that I have worked here!)

I am a little worried that we are left on our own to lock up the office 2 nights a week. Is this a reasonable risk to be concerned about?!?

Sorry to winge but feel a bit annoyed at the second!
x

Hevster · 10/06/2010 09:51

BabyB I work in the civil service and we are supposed to have a risk assessment done due to pregnancy as it is written in the maternity policy rules and guidance, however it doesn't happen very often if ever. I would guess that everyone is sposed to have 1 so your manager is not only rude, unreasonable and in need of a slap, but prob wrong as well.
Spect one of the lawyers will know for sure, but if it helps I would be annoyed too, there is never justification for having a pop in public!

DillyDora · 10/06/2010 10:02

Yes babybunting you are supposed to have a risk assessment and here's the proof:
www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/Moneyandworkentitlements/WorkAndFamilies/DG_10026556

So you can shove that up yr manager's er...nose...

Congratulations Saartje so glad all was well! Tell DH the next one will be a boy

JazzieJeff · 10/06/2010 10:19

Babybunting; Sorry you have to work for such an arse but yes, you do have to have a risk assessment. I had to have one done and they're really backward where I work (think it's because its Cornwall)

Congrats to Saartje, glad she was healthy and wriggly for you

Gosh I felt so tired last night I ended up going to bed at 7pm (just for a quick 'lie down on top of the covers', I swear) and woke up at 11pm with DH poking me and asking me to move over. I then slept right through until 7am this morning! I do feel much better for it, but also a bit concerned at this sudden onset of tiredness and how I just crashed out like that... Anyone else the same???

DillyDora · 10/06/2010 10:23

Jazzie I'm really tired, I get tired towards the end of the week and it's been quite busy (intellectually at least) this week. I'm 'only' 21 weeks today so didn't expect it but there it is. That sleep sounds wonderful and if you feel better for it that has to be good right?

RooBear · 10/06/2010 11:29

Hi, congratulations saartje I'm tired jazzie plus I can't shake my cold so feel a bit run down anyway good job works quiet! If you still have to lock up babyb I would definatly get a Risk Assessment done, the only reason I haven't is because I sit at a desk all day!
