Hi, I am a first-timer Mum to Be and Baby has been given a due date of 1 October. Very early dates still, so nervous and excited I cannot think about anything else! Planning not to tell family and friends till the first three months are over, but it's going to be tough!
Anyone else expecting an October baby out there?

OP posts:

Hermya; what do you do job wise? Is it quite physical? I only ended up eating 2 slices of pizza last night, I think I just fancied the taste really...
Sophieandbelly; hope you feel better soon, it seems to be worst if I wake up at 4am or something when I lurch between ridiculously hungry and horribly sick you poor thing though, on your feet all day. I don't know how you cope. Can you not just do it all from like a chair on wheels?
God I'm starving, regretting only a banana for breakfast but I could only just drag myself from my bed let alone lovingly prepare food!
Xxx

Tootbelle · 17/02/2010 12:47

Hi Gals...
So finally made it to see the doc today and now i definitely feel pregnant!

He was quite sweet actually and apolgised for seeiming dismissive - he must have done this thousands of times before!

Reassuringly he said that bub was so tiny and low down in my pelvic bone that nothing i could do in terms of running jumping around etc could harm him/her. Might not tell my DH that tho as he has taken over washing-up/housework duties and would like that to continue!

I now just awaiting a call from the midwifery team but think i will not see them for a few weeks.
Doc proposed due date 4th Oct.

Yippee! (fingers-crossed!)

p.s. got breakfast panini on way home from docs..suasage,egg,bacon, swiss cheese and tomato and devoured it infront of Tv!
Must get on with a bit of school work now. Ho hum. x

LadyThompson · 17/02/2010 13:13

Thanks for not ignoring me Hermya123 ...I'm due on October 1 and was just trying to be helpful about the other thread, and seeing what this one was like; but no one seems particularly interested, so...Seems a bit odd to have two October groups but there we go

Newcastle16 · 17/02/2010 14:13

Hi Mum's to be!

Can I join this thread? I found out a few days ago that DH & I are pregnant after a few months trying but many years of cysts and pains etc. We are literally over the moon the whole moon! We are going to try and keep it secret though. It's our first baby so will be great to have a thread to chat to you all on!

xx

serafinacat · 17/02/2010 15:20

Hi everyone! I'd like to join too! I've just found out I'm pregnant for the second time (I have an eight year old daughter from my first marriage) and this is mine and my husband's first child together. We're both over the moon, so happy and had forgot how worrying it all is!

My due date seems to be 10/10/10, how amazing a birthdate would that be!! So hope little bean arrives then

Congratulations to all the october mums on here, what an exciting year this is going to be for us all!

DillyDora · 17/02/2010 15:29

Hey LadyThompson - for my part I wasn't ignoring you at all, just not sure what to say (after all, I'm pg and a bit sensitive ). I guess this thread got started by someone who didn't know about the other one and then when you said there was another I just thought 'O...but I like it here. Is it a long way to the other one? I'm soooo tired. ' so, thought I, least said, soonest mended. But it's really not that I'm ignoring you in any sinister or uncool way.

Tootbelle · 17/02/2010 15:58

Hi Newcastle16 and Serafinacat!

LadyThompson - i'm kinda in the same mind-set as DillyDora - I like it here too!

I did 'pop' to the other thread after you mentioned it but it is well busy! ...and I've only just got to grips with all the names on here and who people are.
Good point about joining them - however - I am not the technical - this is first website I've ever joined - I'm not even on facebook. Sad?! i know!!

Tootbelle · 17/02/2010 16:00

p.s. Serafinacat 10/10/10 would be an awesome birthday! I'd have to be overdue to get that and I'm not sure I like the sound of that too much! Congrats!
Ha!

LadyThompson · 17/02/2010 16:18

It's none of my business where anybody posts - but I will say that if you look at this board, which is the pregnancy board, you will see it's for pregnancy issues - all the different 'month' clubs are in the ante-natal section, so when you fill up this thread, you might want to move over there, even if you keep a separate thread to the other October one. Anyway, I am going now as it seems like everyone already knows each other...

JazzieJeff · 17/02/2010 19:25

LadyThompson; I'm sure no one meant to hurt your feelings, it's just we're all wrapped up in our little pregnant bubbles thankyou for the invite, I popped over there a little while ago but like Tootbelle, it was so busy! I'm sure no one minds too much on our posting here and you're more than welcome to come and join us... A due date of October 1st??? You and me both
Serafinacat; I'm waaay jelous; 10/10/10 is such a cool birthday, I'll just have to keep my legs crossed hee hee!
Newcastle16; welcome! Sorry to hear about your pain troubles, I hope it eases up for you. Any interesting symptoms or cravings yet?!

ellabella2 · 17/02/2010 20:32

Wow, This thread moves so fast. I can't keep up with everyone's news and newbies.
Sorry if I miss things

Well, I don't really have anything interesting to report. Still no real symptoms to speak of, except for irritated sinus' that are keeping me awake through the night and making me feel crappy and knackered during the day Not that that is pregnancy related but it just means I can't use the nasal spray I usually use

Well, we are all moving closer to those coveted 12 week scans and hopefully some greater peace of mind

Keep up the baby baking xx

flyingdoll · 17/02/2010 20:37

Hi girls, well after a year of trying and watching these threads, i finally got my BFP on Valentines day! Got an estimated due date of 13th Oct, it doesnt feel real yet!

ellabella2 · 17/02/2010 21:00

flyingdoll congratulations and welcome

What a perfect Valentine memory.

pinkprincess1206 · 17/02/2010 21:09

Hi everyone, I too am pregnant- just!i am 6 weeks. and i am terrified! This is my 2nd pregnancy and i had a difficult 1st pregnancy which makes this one hard as i dont know what aches and paons are normal and what i should worry about- so i am mainly just worrying! I anyone else having aches n pains etc? x

SilverSky · 17/02/2010 21:52

Evening all,

Cramping seems to have stopped and get the occasional twinge, aside from that I feel totally normal. Oh except for also having senstitive and HUGE nips (TMI? Beg your pardon!). I am not overly tired etc, so far so good, guess its too early. Not sure if I am 4 or 5 weeks. Today I forgot I was even preggers! I am sure all the horrid symptons will arrive.

Regarding the coffee, I thought it was 2 cups of instant a day or 1 cup of filter.

Anyone know about camomile tea? I have read comflicting things.

Secondly, I am taking FA, should I be taking anything else? If so please tell me.

Going to Drs next Friday, I think that I a due 23 October, I think.

Hermya321 · 18/02/2010 00:32

Evening all, I'm still getting the cramping and sharp pains. It's only on my right hand side though. I've read though that this could be a common thing. Is anyone else having the same thing?

Jazzie My job is quite physical and can involve some confrontation so I'm not allowed to do that part of it anymore. I was afraid of getting into bother, so thats why I told them. I love my job and wouldn't want it to be reason that LO disapears.

Flyingdoll Welcome on board!!!

Silversky I'm taking omega three as well, mind you I don't eat fish so I won't get it any other way to be honest with you.

LadyThompson I went over to the other thread as well, but it was so so busy and I quite like the quietness of this one. I can't keep up with the other one.

Pinkprincess We're all with you, I'm having cramps as well and it's a little scary but we'll get through it together.

It's just a suggestion but with this thread and the other October thread, maybe to prevent confusion if we move this one over to the antenatel board we could rename it. Mind you I have seen an antenatel thread in the pregnancy section so if this one sticks around here I don't think there'll be an issue.

DillyDora · 18/02/2010 09:39

Morning all!

Congratulations to all the newbies!

Hope everyone is very well today. I'm feeling perkier, dh is back from his travels tonight and I can't wait to see him!

Hermya - if we move our discussion please could you leave me some really idiot proof instructions on how to get to the new one as I'm not too clever at these things.
tbh I never did find an 'antenatal' board and it wasn't the first thing that occured to me I just saw 'pregnancy' and thought, that's me! Anyhoo, seriously, just leave me a trail of breadcrumbs ;0)

Also - watch out for the fish oils if that's the omega 3 supplement you're taking, I don't think they're recommended in pregnancy though you definitely need Omegas 3 & 6 to build baby's brain. Better check.

It is indeed 1 cup of filter coffee per day sigh

My cramps have almost stopped, so much so and I felt so well last night that I freaked out and did another test ... all well... I think I should just be grateful for feeling well!!

Have a lovely day everyone
xx

sophieandbelly · 18/02/2010 10:01

jazzie has anyone twigged at work yet? i can do some work sitting but doesnt seem to help much.. how annoying is this on a tues i work till 9 oclock,

another stylist was not feeling 100 % meaning she could of worked but chose not to, she then moved all her clients into my colum so i was feeling awful and had to do her work as well as my own!! while she waited in staff room reading mags!!!

i could have cried, but couldnt say anything!!

so who has midwife soon? i am going a week tues, if i remember rightly she will then book my scan in.
xx

JazzieJeff · 18/02/2010 12:20

I just saw a guy I work with eating a really thick, stodgy cheese sandwich on white bread and it was all I could do not to pounce on him like a starving tiger and steal it off him

DillyDora · 18/02/2010 12:25

Jazzie ha ha - you read my mind, I have just reached the 'omigod I'm ravenous' stage! I'm so busy today with work till 9pm so that means snarfing sandwiches in corners like some kind of maniac - classy!

OK so, does anyone worry she won't get on with her midwife?

sophieandbelly · 18/02/2010 12:44

mmmmmmmmmmm cheese sarnies!!! yum

i normally go to slimming world they have a preg plan which i intend on following, but am currently on the anything that doesnt make me throw up diet!! and eating every 2-3 hours! so prob put on couple of lbs already

wen i was having dd, wasnt keen on midwife but they changed, so after 20 weeks loved my new midwife, u do get a certian bond with her, if ur lucky!

just as well really the things u have to discuss!!! haha

sophieandbelly · 18/02/2010 12:51

p.s dd has been a total angel today after luch got the duvets out and snuggled up to watch cindrella, shes now asleep and i can put my feet up!

who watched one born every min??

might sound like a bitch (u people on 2nd + babies prob agree!!) i wanted to slap that sam girl, no wonder she was in so much pain she had no control, do u no what i mean 2+ timers, she was allowing it to over take her, how do the midwifes stay calm!!

i must add iam not saying she was faking it, it is agony but some people make it worse on themselves,

i had a moment myself in labour remember saying to the midwife u prob think i am pathic, u see this everyday (crying at the time!)

flyingdoll · 18/02/2010 13:21

Hi, thank you for the lovely welcome! I am 6 weeks and 1 day, my cramps seem to have gone today, apart from being tired and sore boobies, nothing else. I am currently grounded from my flying job due to being pregnant so i have a lot of spare time to fill! Hope i dont get too bored. Im sure i wont!

anythingwithagiraffeonit · 18/02/2010 15:06

Hi everyone...

Sophieandbelly I am taking your advice and having some highlights next Wednesday :p can't bear the roots anymore and people are work have started to comment!

I'm not really getting morning sickness as such, just hungry sickness all the time... And sooooo tired! Last night I was working till 2am and made the mistake of shutting my eyes for a few minutes on the studio floor... Few minutes later a cameraman had to wake me... Very embarrasing !!!!!

My cramps seemed to have stopped now as well but they still want to send me for another scan and bloodtest to make sure everythings okay

how's everyone else coping with the tiredness... Sophieandbelly - watching a movie under a duvet sounds like heaven!!!

Xx

JazzieJeff · 18/02/2010 15:32

Dillydora: I am actually contemplating sneaking off to Waitrose to purchase something cheesy right now... I just want it so much. And gherkins. No matter how greedily you are inhaling your food, at least you haven't sunk down to my level and begun to make eyes at other people's lunches
Flyingdoll; welcome and I hope you stay well!
Sophieandbelly; I was waiting for someone to say it first for fear of getting; 'you haven't had one so you don't know what it's like' comments, but I thought she was being rather unnecessary with it all really. I would struggle so much if I was a midwife not to say something quite rude! Her mum was telling her to be quiet because she was making such a show of herself and even I was embarrassed for her. Especially when they said she was only 3cm dilated
Trying to stay sensible with the food choices, I've not put on anything at the moment and I turn 8 weeks tomorrow. I'm quite tall at 5'7" and a size 12 so whilst I'm hardly a stick insect (wishful thinking), I hope I'll carry a bump well when it gets to it. I'm living in a really ugly John Lewis bra at the moment which I picked up in the wrong size 2 years ago, but it's the only D cup I have and all my other bras make my boobies look like sausages
