October 2010 babies?

Hi, I am a first-timer Mum to Be and Baby has been given a due date of 1 October. Very early dates still, so nervous and excited I cannot think about anything else! Planning not to tell family and friends till the first three months are over, but it's going to be tough!
Anyone else expecting an October baby out there?

my sense of smell has gone down a bit-which is good as I work on a Army Base! just finding that I don't like certain foods as much anymore.

Hevster · 13/04/2010 15:24

babybunting i got prescribed piriton last time i was pregnant and took it for at least 2 months, was banking on taking it again this time, have the guidlines changed or do you not take stuff as a general rule when preg?

KFW · 13/04/2010 15:32

i had my scan today. i have officially graduated out of the professor's recurrent miscarriage clinic as i am 12+3. woo hoo! no more weekly appointments! i am so happy i feel like a glass of champagne. i guess appletise will have to do . i know there's still a long way to go, but i am honestly ecstatic. maybe it will be 4th time lucky...

Katy86 · 13/04/2010 15:35

Katy86 · 13/04/2010 15:43

any of u started thinking of names yet?

x

RooBear · 13/04/2010 16:12

great news KFW we aren't finding out the sex so we have a list for both! I'm liking Lydia or Alice for a girl and Alistair for a boy but DH likes Kieron not sure?

Katy86 · 13/04/2010 16:17

have a huge list for girls but my best friend says they are all horrible think ill have to ignore her. and think im settled on Sam for boy...Alistair and Kieron are both gorgeous! the girls names are nice too. think its best to have a few potentials in case the baby doesnt 'look like' whatever uve chosen

xx

RooBear · 13/04/2010 16:20

what girls names did you have? Sam is great for a boy, I like practical names for boys and femnine names for girls!

MrsSenior · 13/04/2010 16:35

Hi Ladies.
I haven't posted on here for what seems like ages, just been really busy with work and uni stuff!!

Had my scan on Fri - all well and measured exactly 12 weeks so due 22nd Oct. DH was so cute 'look, it's properly wriggling and everything!!', I think it all became real to him then. It was great to see my own baby on the screen, so used to looking at other peoples (doing my ultrasound training).

Sickness seems to have eased and I'm deffo not as tired, but suffering a lot with low back pain.

Hope you are all progressing well and enjoying this bit of sun we are having.

MummyBeth · 13/04/2010 17:05

KFW that is fabulous news - I'm so happy for you!

Having a rubbish day - had just bitten the head of DH for daring to ask me a question - oops - poor man it can't be easy living with me at the min he doesn't know what to expect - tears, tantrums, excited giggles - I guess its good practise for when this one becomes a toddler!

MRsSenior congrats on the scan - I totally would have been asking if I could practise on myself - just to get some early pics!

Enjoy your afternoon - heat has caused prickly heat on my chest not fun!

RooBear · 13/04/2010 18:59

Daynee · 13/04/2010 19:33

Congrats senior and KFW

Katy - I like the names Luna and Isla!
If a girl, I was thinking Solara (just saw the book of eli), and for a boy, probably Jason (after my dh)...I have a big book of names but not many boy names I like!

Katy86 · 13/04/2010 19:36

Daynee Solara is lovely i had never heard it before! x

JazzieJeff · 13/04/2010 19:40

Hi girls, not posted forever it seems like! Hope everyone is ok, am now 14+4 but still no bump Just moved back down to Cornwall since passing all the finals for the work qualifications, can't believe we're actually down here! Trying to get the new place done up nicely before small arrives, trying to make the most of this new found evergy now that (thank God) the morning sickness seems to have subsided. The trick seemed to be eating little and often for me.
Starting to feel like this thing's getting real now... not like it wasn't before, but starting to get really scared about small arriving, just hoping I'll be a good enough parent!
Also... really bad moodswings lol! The smallest thing stresses me out to the max; not even funny when you're waiting on bloody DFS to deliver sofas!

cheekymonkeyno3 · 14/04/2010 08:19

hello all

well i had my scan yesterday and it was lovely. very happy i was a week ahead with my dates so now 11+4 due 30th Oct.

haven't really thought about names yet, we have Joshua and Emily already so something that works nicely with them.

i don't think we will be finding out sex we did with josh and didn't with emily - we have one of each so really don't mind.

anyway off to bake cakes with the children to take to a friends so speak later

have a nice day
xx

MrsSenior · 14/04/2010 11:46

Sounds like everyone is getting along nicely,.. I think we're probably just learning to live with the crappy bits of pregnancy hey?!

Jazzie I know what you mean about getting stressed out about things,.. I actually had a cry the other day cos the bathroom needed cleaning and then I dropped a sock off the clothes horse so I pulled all the clothes off and threw them on the floor! Talk about behaving like child ! I do feel sorry for my poor DH.

MummyBeth unforunately you really aren't allowed to practice on yourself. So I had the long hard wait like the rest of you.

Anyhoo, off so write some more of my essay

babybunting2010 · 14/04/2010 12:06

Morning all,

Hevster- Apparently your Dr or Midwife can prescribe them if it is necessary, there aren't any cases where it's caused any harm or anything but pharmacists aren't allowed to sell it to you or something like that. Have just googled it... quite interesting... www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/935.aspx?CategoryID=54&SubCategoryID=129 think this should work....

Keep thinking of names, we quite like Ethan and Dominic for boy and Sophie and Isabella love the name Isabella/Bella but some people think it sounds wrong with our surname... What do you think??? I personally love really old fashioned names... Maisy, Alfie, Imogen... but DH not so keen! Might buy a baby book at some point.

xx

babybunting2010 · 14/04/2010 12:27

Has anyone else done a Mumsnet profile, I've just written mine out! I think if you click my name now it comes up with my details. Though, I can't click on anyone elses name! x

DillyDora · 14/04/2010 13:37

Lovely profile babyb I haven't done one cos I'm a spy and mustn't reveal my identity not really, it's because I'm lazy and don't want to risk bumping into work people.

Hi Jazzie have been hoping you were ok and just caught up with moving, glad to hear from you!

Lovely to hear about all the great scans.

I'm not getting too stressed, but having said that DH said 'WHAT? You mean they can make you redundant if you're pregnant?!' last night and I went off into an insane rant at him and gave myself a headache...ahem ... but then he said sorry and took me out to dinner - result!

Noone likes the girls names I like - humph! We're trying to get something that sounds good in German and English, not easy. For boys I think we're ok: Joseph, Jacob, Samuel, Tobias - all shortened of course, but with options for a 'grown up' version when they grow up!

ImaKara · 14/04/2010 13:44

I can finally join one of these boards. I was unsure of my dates and finally got my first scan today am 12+1 and due 26 October. Turns out I was practically spot on.

It's my first so all very new to me. Baby was moving around so much and waving at us. Ended up with legs crossed - and looked relaxed - hopefully it will be this chilled out in person.

MummyBeth · 14/04/2010 14:20

Two words: prickly heat!

KFW · 14/04/2010 15:38

Where are you MummyB ? It's definitely not hot enough for prickly heat in London! I am a bit jealous actually.

Hevster · 14/04/2010 16:05

babybunting2010 interesting article cheers, names go round and round in my head and we never agree on any but we need something that goes with Daisy and if it's a girl we get into the whole floral theme debate as my sister and I were both named along that theme. Daisy wasn't named to keep it going but now part of me thinks it would be nice to and part of me can't be arsed as there are too many odd flower names!
MrsSenior I can so realte to your clothes horse incident, I swiped all the books off the shelf yesterday just coz the last one wouldn't stand up!

Congrats to all those who have just had scans and welcome to you new people, MummyBeth i really hope your prickly heat stops.
