October 2010 babies?

Hi, I am a first-timer Mum to Be and Baby has been given a due date of 1 October. Very early dates still, so nervous and excited I cannot think about anything else! Planning not to tell family and friends till the first three months are over, but it's going to be tough!
Anyone else expecting an October baby out there?

cheekyminkey sadly don't live in Bath either, we are in Warminster but I work in Bath.
Am a little envious of those of you with little bumps, 2nd time round and I am starting to find maternity clothes more comfy and definately looking preggers. Back to work today after 5 weeks off coz I can't stop puking and feel a bit aprehensive but am sure it will be fine when i get there.
hope you all had a good weekend

Katy86 · 12/04/2010 08:54

hevster im sure you will be fine today but good luck all the same!

xx

DillyDora · 12/04/2010 09:05

Helllooooo!

Lovely weekend thanks, was at a spa with friends all day on Saturday which was heaven. Was rubbish yesterday though, I get so lightheaded and there are days when I hardly dare move as I feel like I'm going to sink into the floor! Does anyone else get that? Perkier today but sicky...

I was contemplating my tum this morning and there is a bump but as you say, what can it be? I used to go to bed with a big bloaty tum but wake up with it flat but now it doesn't flatten down. Hmm...but then I suppose I was thinking I'd done no yoga for 6 weeks (too tired!) so bound to go a bit squidgy round the middle. I have only put on 1 kilo and that's including boots and jeans so let's call it 500g! No one seemed bothered by that at the hospital though. Get lots of stretchy pains and have even had a couple of headaches and some patches of eczema - bah! O and the spots are not going damn damn damn! So ... that's my head to toe health check ladies

Have a lovely day all

Morning all!!!

Hope you are well. I am the same with the belly thing, despite my best efforts, I look pregnant, there are nto 2 ways about it, def a bump there! (Someone asked me yesterday how far along I was and when I said 14 weeks, they turned around and quite loudly said is that all, was absolutely devastated as it felt like she was calling me fat in front of everyone!) Have only put on 4lbs but my tummy is def alot more rounded! Oh well..

So this weekend I learnt something new.... my hayfever kicked off like mad, so I nipped into the pharamcist and asked whether I could take anti histamine (Sorry for the spelling) and was advised that no, pregnant women can not take any form of hayfever tablet. You can get it prescribed by the Dr's but they don't like doing it as they actually penetrate the placenta! So I now have a few months of streaming to cope with.

Feel a bit down at today, actually, though we did go to a car boot sale yesterday and there were some lovely baby clothes at really cheap prices. I know it sounds a little scabby but pram suits and baby grows, that looked unused, in fact a couple still had lables on, at a pound each and it's nothing that can't be boil washed anyway!

Anyway, hope everyone is well!!!

Dilly... according to old wives tales... spots means girl... I think!

Hi Ladies -

Its so good to hear all your stories and updates so that I don't feel alone in my symptoms!

I am obviously being a big piggie as I have put on 6kg (about 13lbs I think?) and my previously concave tummy with visable hip bones has taken on a lovely rounded shape. I love it so much and spend much of my day patting and rubbing

This morning was not a good one - I do find that being overheated makes me feel a bit sick so spending yesterday doing garden things possibly wasn't the best idea and I'm suffering today.

Hope you all have a great Monday

ellabella2 · 12/04/2010 10:49

MummyBeth your description of you patting and rubbing your lovely rounded tummy has given me a warm pregnancy feel good glow and big grin. Love it I'm thinking that I'm gonna really enjoy being curvacious and pregnant too (not that I was particularly skinny before hand)

MummyBeth · 12/04/2010 11:28

Bleugh

sam12 · 12/04/2010 11:47

Hi, I am due with my first on the 11th Oct. I have never been on anything like this before but thought it would be good to share with others in the same position as it can all feel a bit overwhelming at times!!
Has been good to read all your experiences on here xx

babybunting2010 · 12/04/2010 11:52

Hey Sam12 and welcome... it is fab being able to ask the questions to people who are going through it currently!

Mummybeth... you look after yourself honey, keep your drinks up and try and get yourself feeling better even if it means having an afternoon in bed!

I am having the opposite effect re the curvaciousness... I just look fat! and I hate it! xxx

RooBear · 12/04/2010 12:28

Morning ladies, Welcome Carleyb and Sam12 I definately have a bump now and I'm constantly talking to it and rubbing it like a loon! I was a bit worried last night as i was in terrible pain like bad cramps but thats gone today. Had a lovely weekend, DH took me to Mamas and Papas and I was in my element! Got some maternity clothes which are so comfy! and couldn't resist buying a small toy and one piece for the bump! x x

DillyDora · 12/04/2010 13:50

Welcome to Carleyb and Sam12!

Sorry you're feeling rough Mummyb it's so unpredictable isn't it? I am feeling better than yesterday but suddenly the need for sleep is descending...

Sorry you're a bit down babyb hope it lifts soon. I think the clothes sound fine, as long as you can wash them what harm can it do? We can't keep our babies in an aseptic environment, can we (and anyway if we do they'll develop hideous auto-immune diseases so....) and if you breast feed she gets a boost from your immune system anyway.

roobear glad to hear those cramps are gone and you got some lovely clothes

ok...nap now..

Hello ladies! Welcome newbies.

So, I'm back at work , and I have a little belly now ! None of my students have said anything about it yet, so I guess it's not as noticeable to them as it is to me .

I'm getting so impatient! Anywho, I'd rather be home reading or gardening, but what can you do?

sam12 · 12/04/2010 17:21

Thank you. I have a belly too now- but looks more like I ate too much than a baby!! My students haven't said anything yet either and so it can't be noticeable as they wouldn't worry about being polite!

sophieandbelly · 12/04/2010 17:48

hi girls, i also have bit of belly more obvious wen i havnt got cclothes on, with clothes on just look fat. put on 7lb!! so have to keep an eye on it dont want to gain to much. i just have to look at a choc bar and ive put on a lb, gain very easy.

MummyBeth · 12/04/2010 20:04

Hi ladies - Thanks for the sympathy - Luckily I have a wonderful sister who came over - took me out for lunch and then cleaned my kitchen! I couldn't bear it this morning so the dishes were sitting by the dishwasher rather than going in. Still feeling a little delicate - but I really think its the heat!

oh and you'll all love this - when I answered the door my sister sais "hello fatty!"

xxx

DillyDora · 12/04/2010 20:29

mummybeth LOL at your sister. Fatty is actually my nickname from my brother so perhaps she meant it in a lovely familial way ;0) Isn't she a love to clean your kitchen?

babybunting2010 · 13/04/2010 08:58

Hahaha my DH calls me fatty!!!! But it's in a lovely kind of way bless him!!

He also comes up to my tummy every morning and says "hello baby... it's Daddy talking" it makes me giggle but also makes me well up! So cute. Bless him...

cheekymonkeyno3 · 13/04/2010 09:05

hello
i hope everyone had a nice weekend.
we had a lovely time in devon and found the long awaited scan letter on the mat when we got back - the best bit is it is today!!! 6pm
very excited but slightly nervous. looking forward to being able to relax slightly tonight if all is well
xx

DillyDora · 13/04/2010 09:06

babyb that is cute! For the first time today my DH said 'morning Bean!' to my tummy - aw! Nice to have these soppy excited blokes around

xx

MummyBeth · 13/04/2010 09:25

BabyB and Dilly - that is too cute!!

Best of Luck today Cheeky I hope you see a litle jellybaby waving back at you.

DH doesn't say a lot about it - He's an old fashioned man - but he did give the bump a rub and a kiss before he went away for the weekend which was quite sweet.

Hope you are all feeling good today - I'm just about to get stuck into my pregnancy yoga DVD in a min - if I can get myself off the sofa that is!

xxx

DillyDora · 13/04/2010 09:34

mummybeth respect for the pregnancy yoga - I did mine yesterday, finally after weeks of inertia! I still can't get used to this wussy version of yoga and accept that that's all I'm capable of now! I feel like I've got kryptonite in my pockets and I've lost all my powers! Help! Does anyone else feel like that? More weak and feeble than just tired?

xx

Katy86 · 13/04/2010 10:39

everything smells funny to me anyone else eperiencing this?

xx

DillyDora · 13/04/2010 10:45

Yes, I went through a phase when even DH smelled funny. It's much better now, I have a strong sense of smell still but it doesn't all make me feel sick anymore!!

x

Katy86 · 13/04/2010 10:50

thank you Dilly...its awful!! im 14+2 so thought this would have gone, even DD smells funny to me which is not nice....also i gag (sorry tmi) sometimes even sick (sorry tmi again) from the smallest little cough...this is so strange! when pregnant with DD i had no pg symptoms and thought being pregnant was a doddle! hoe wrong i was lol
xx

babybunting2010 · 13/04/2010 12:30

Kate86.... I know exactly what you mean, I haven't been able to be around, wear or smell perfume for weeks now, luckily can still stomach deodorant, otherwise might have been a very different story!

Mummybeth and Dilly, there is a pregnancy yoga class and a pregnancy aquafit locally which I am thinking of joining but have got the in laws to stay for a few weeks so probably not for a while!

Hope everyone is having a nice day! My Hayfever is still playing up a treat. Damn not being able to take piriton!

xx
