October 2010 babies?

Hi, I am a first-timer Mum to Be and Baby has been given a due date of 1 October. Very early dates still, so nervous and excited I cannot think about anything else! Planning not to tell family and friends till the first three months are over, but it's going to be tough!
Anyone else expecting an October baby out there?

Thanks ladies! I just so nervous sometimes because of my 4mc's, and this being my first!

Off to stuff my face for lunch now...

veryexcited - I know what you mean - I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve, only Christmas day is not until October!!

Hevster · 08/04/2010 17:56

Ladies, what are these button extenders and where do i get them?

MummyBeth · 08/04/2010 17:56

Babybunting that doesn't sound like a fun morning - hope you are feeling a bit better now.

Veryexcited we have the same DD!

I had a bobble through my jeans from about 10 weeks and haven't worn any trousers since 11 weeks - so am loving the elasticated waist on my new jeans - I have lots of jumper dresses that have been tiding me over and I'm hoping will continue to do so for a while.

  • I guess I've never done much exercise (afraid of losing weight) so maybe I have weak stomach muscles that just sighed and gave up holding the baby back!

Back is killing me today - warm water bottle and a massage heading my way (as well as a sausage supper with curry sauce!) DH is off on a stag do tomorrow so I'm in for some pampering tonight!

Hevster I got mine from 'From Here to Maternity' (just google that) and although they are seriously unbeautiful I hope they'll help for a while (not all the way through like the lady on the packet!)

Hevster · 09/04/2010 08:54

DillyDora thanks for that, will see if I can get one in Bath this afternoon.

DillyDora · 09/04/2010 08:56

OOh, Bath, lovely. Very nice part of the world you live in Hevster!

babybunting2010 · 09/04/2010 09:12

Morning all,

Welcome and congrats veryexcited I am also pregnant with my first child and can't wait! Have actually had 2 scans already because they wanted to check that the bowel had moved into the right place!

Daynee congrats, glad it went well! Can I ask... How do you know it's a girl already??? Can't wait to find out if we are having a boy or a girl, I know some people disagree with it but I am dying to know!

DillyDora · 09/04/2010 09:17

Hello babyb do you mean me? Hey, we don't really know it's a girl, I have just always thought that she is and don't like calling anyone 'it'! Even my DH who was so not into this whole idea has a gut feeling she'll be a girl, and he was the one who spent months coaching me to be ok with the idea of having a boy. TBH it really all began because his children from a previous relationship are twin boys who are autistic so our risk for autism is a bit higher and boys are more likely to be autistic than girls. Phew, what a long explanation We will be wanting to find out at the 20 week scan!

I think my pregnacy is getting worse reached 12 weeks without any bad symptoms, no sickness or anything, yet last night I was of my food-unheard of for me! and I was sick this morning for the first time, not a happy bear today.

babybunting2010 · 09/04/2010 11:07

Oops Dilly! I knew it began with a D but the post was on the page before so I couldn't see it! I have 2 close friends, both of which say they "can always tell what sex the baby is" one that says its a girl and the other that says its a boy!

I can genuinely say that I am more than happy either way!

Roobear... I hear you.... I was feeling ok till about a week ago and now get a sicky feeling again plus was sick yesterday morning, the only thing that brings comfort is that it just means that the pregnancy hormones are high! xxx

DillyDora · 09/04/2010 11:16

ha ha babyb no worries, it's really hard to keep all the names and info straight.

Sorry you feel grim Roobear it is vile, I know, hope it passes soon.
xx

RooBear · 09/04/2010 13:36

Thanks babyb and DillyDora feeling a bit better now, and DH said he'll take me out for something to eat tonight which is nice ( because I do all the cooking and cleaning in the house so maybe just need a break?)

KFW · 09/04/2010 16:22

Spooky! I hadnt logged in in a few days and thought i'd just log on to have a whinge about how i am feeling verrrrrrrrrrry sick for the first time in at least 2 weeks and it seems that plenty of you are too! It's extremely unfair. I did manage to force down a GBK last night though
feeling even more rough today, but seem to have eaten a lot. i feel like a big slug. it's not nice! I am 12 weeks on monday and it is not good that the symptoms seem to be going the wrong way!
hope all is well apart from the sickiness.

DillyDora · 09/04/2010 17:53

Hi All,

After all my crowing about feeling better I got really sicky today in the middle of the day - nearly threw up in the shower but I think the potential horror of that was enough to settle it back down. Then a dreadful headache all afternoon - had to go to bed. Humph.

Anyway, got to get my happy face on now - people coming round.

COR! DH just walked in with a lovely bunch of flowers for me

Byeeee!xxx

missnicely · 09/04/2010 18:34

Hey folks,
had my scan today! All is well, we have a bouncing baby! So so amazing!

But threw up before I went for scan - was it just nerves? Was hoping to have left all the nausea and sickness behind!

Am now 13 weeks - so my baby diary will have a week missing, how can they tell from the size of the baby>? Surely some children are tall and some not? What's that all about?!

Sorry to hear those of you still be sick but at least it means all is well!

LOL xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

MummyBeth · 09/04/2010 18:53

Misnicely I asked the consultant that at my scan and he said that babies didn't start to 'grow' untill the second trimester - up until that point all babies are developing and do so at the same pace so the crown to rump measurement is an indicator of development and as such determines how old the baby is - variations do occur later on and baby will also make up its own mind when its ready to come out so it's all a bit academic anyway!

Just eaten a MASSIVE chinese meal - will regret that in about half an hour!

Hi .. new to Mumsnet... also due Oct '10... first baby x

ellabella2 · 11/04/2010 20:31

Muggle1978 I think you are not alone in experiencing these aches and twinges. I am 14 weeks and still get aches and little stabey twinges in my uterus area at some point during most days. From the reading I've done it seems to be quite normal and related to all the stretching and growing that is going on down there. The stabey twinges could well be your round ligament stretching. It is attached to the uterus and has to stretch to allow for the growth in the uterus size, sometimes it can be quite painful apprarently. Mine are pretty minor and I think of them as growing pains and a positive sign that the buba is growing

Hello everyone and congratulations on all the positive scan results and lessening nasty symptoms. It seems amazing that we are now heading into that 2nd Trimester

How are people's tummy's shaping up??!! I have a real little tummy now, especially after eating Knowing that the uterus is still only just starting to rise out of my pelvis I know my tummy is not actual baby. I wonder if it is my intestines etc. that are being pushed up by my expanding uterus/buba? I've only put on about 4lbs and have not changed shape anywhere else, apart from mahoosive boobies!!! I'd love to know what other people's bodies are doing.

Hope you've all had a wonderful weekend in the sunshine xx

P.S. Apologies for the long post.

waterbabemum · 11/04/2010 22:20

welcome Carleyb you have the same due date as me (and a few of us)

ellabella2 I also have a small bump seems more pronounced by the end of each day, probably due to getting some of my appetite back, not sure where all the guts are going to go later down the line! Not much change else where, I am hope my boobs will continue to grow

I have enjoyed the sunshine even looking a but pink, must put sun cream on next time the sun is out.
