October 2010 babies?

Hi, I am a first-timer Mum to Be and Baby has been given a due date of 1 October. Very early dates still, so nervous and excited I cannot think about anything else! Planning not to tell family and friends till the first three months are over, but it's going to be tough!
Anyone else expecting an October baby out there?

Hi cheekymonkey nice to have you here.

Don't think I can feel any movement, 12 weeks tomorrow with number 1 so pretty early. Let's see what's happening at the scan tomorrow, eh?

I'm doing better, I'm less tired and get less sick though coughing or brushing my teeth sets of awful gagging - nasty!

Also, have discovered maternity tights - happy days! Very comfy! Also seeing lots of stretchy maxi dresses in the shops which look tempting for summer, I must say.

xx

missnicely · 07/04/2010 13:22

Hi folks,

I can't feel any movement - am waiting for dating scan on Fri, but when I am in the bath I can see and feel a little bump on one side.... am hoping to see more on fri.

Know what you mean about cleaning teeth. I finally managed to do some baking today after 6 weeks of being unable to go anywhere near the kitchen. Also cleaned out the kitchen cupboards, does that qualify as nesting???

Lol xxx

cheekymonkeyno3 · 07/04/2010 13:26

this is no 3 felt the last one at 14 weeks so maybe things are just a bit more stretchy and sensitive (defiantly stretchy - i look about 5 months already) . i certainly am aware of what i want to be feeling if you see what i mean. and like you say babybunting i haven't felt wind like this before.

it's lovely to have someone in rl going though it with you, when i had dd i had 3 other friends expecting. we'd all met at a toddler group and were onto no 2. xx

DillyDora · 07/04/2010 13:29

LOl missnicely I was doing random cleaning jobs yesterday as well as wanting to plant things (seeds still lost btw) and cook and bake so yes, I think that's nesting!

My 'bump' seems to be over to one side, when they did the early scan that was the side they looked on so maybe the babies start off on one side? Could that be right?!

I wish i had the energy to do some cleaning, i'm exhausted. I thought tiredness was supposed to ease by now? maybe its because I've escaped the MS for now so the tiredness is hitting me two fold. my bump is growing already, but because i can still fit into my size tens it just looks like I've had a big lunch! x

MummyBeth · 07/04/2010 16:09

Hi ladies - It's fab to hear everyone so excited!

I don't think I will feel anything for a good few weeks yet - I'm 13 weeks tomorrow with no. 1. Am a whole lot bigger than I expected though - bought maternity tights and jeans today (does anywhere do size 6 maternity clothes? the 8 was passable in one style but would prefer something neater and will be wanting some alternatives.)

Also if you want to hear something humorous - I got fitted for some new bras yesterday - and I came home and promptly burst into tears - I am now an H cup - I am horrified - I knew they had grown but seriously? - So I cut out all the tags so no one has to know.

MS seems to have gone but everything I am eating is repeating on me - is this 'normal'. It's totally disgusting and makes me gag which DH and I have a good laugh at! Well if you don't laugh you'll cry right?

Mummybeth... let me get this straight not only do you have big kahoonas (For want of a better word) But you are a size 6 at 13 weeks pregnant!!!! How do you stay stood up??? Only joking my love, (I have a bit of a wicked sense of humour so no offence meant! Sorry!) Just jealous as last time I was a size 6 would have been when I was about 6!!! I am 5ft 9" and a steady size 14, I do fluctuate between a 12 and a 16 but in general am a 14.

I too almost had a heart attack as had bra fitting also on Saturday (Although not as impressive as an H cup) I came in at a rather hefty 36FF/G depending on which style I went for! Which was a bit of a shock!! But be proud MummyB!

Roobear... I know what you mean on the lack of energy thing... I could just collapse most of the time! Am looking forward to going home and getting into my bed!!!

Oh and by the way got some fab and reasonably priced maternity clothes from Peacocks and I noticed that they had a lot of smaller sizes as well.

I am already in a lot of Maternity clothes but only really for comfort, I find sitting at my desk in normal clothes V uncomfortable!!!

Hevster · 07/04/2010 17:30

I went shopping for mat clothes in New Look today, they had some decent stuff and if you buy Gracia magazine(I think that's how you spell it) then there is a 25% off voucher for New Look, think it expires 14 April, mag costs £1.95 and mentions voucher on front cover at bottom of page.

Am pissy cow today - everyone and everything is wrong, providing DD sleeps tonight (she was up aprox every 40 mins last night) and scan goes well tomorrow I may decide to become cheerful again.

hope you have all had a good day

RooBear · 07/04/2010 19:37

DH has said he'll take me shopping for maternity stuff on sat, Yeah! think I'll need to start, my boobs are falling out my bras and my comfy jeans are leaving marks on my belly! am I right in thinking you get your normal size, so I would be a 10 in maternity sizes too??

MummyBeth · 07/04/2010 21:27

No offence taken babybunting I am well aware of my comedic figure - and to me honest I'm not always sure how I sat upright either!

I have tried to gain weight for about the last 5 years - I would love to be a size 10 - so I am taking the opportunity to eat like a pig and am not planning on losing the baby weight after.

There are some lovely things on the internet but I think you need to try things really - although I have two weddings in the summer so think I'll get something off the internet for those.

Thanks for the tip Hevster I think I'll check that out!

I bought some mat. jeans today! Was so excited because I've been wearing my usual jeans with the top buttons undone and it was just so good to have some clothes that actually fit!

I got some with the over bump elastic which make me laugh. They're still quite baggy but they're super comfy! Why aren't all jeans like this?

I never thought of checking peacocks! Our town centre had been hard to find mat wear - only debenhams and mothercare with an actual section! I will look in peacocks next time. Good idea!

babybunting2010 · 08/04/2010 08:57

Mummybeth... wasn't thinking of it being comedic...more every man's dreams all rolled in to one. I am really sorry if I said anything upsetting yesterday, have a tendency to say things before engaging brain!

Does anyone know how long it takes for your body to absorb tablets? Have terrible MS this morning and take 75mg of Thyroxine when I first wake up there was 25 mins approx between taking pill and when I threw up (sorry TMI)

Therefore do I need to retake pills? Beware the next bit is very much TMI... but didn't stop being sick until I threw up bile and didnt' notice whether the pills were or weren't there!

Feeling very sorry for myself this morning thought the MS had started calming down! so not happy at the moment. Plus now really can't stomach anything to eat or drink, but I know I should try!

Sorry for the winge

DillyDora · 08/04/2010 13:14

Bonjour everyone! (why bonjour? why not....must be the weather!)

So, before the next bit, can I just say mummyb I want to be built like you in my next life...my boobs popped up to a 36C at the w/e and I was thrilled but they are back down again today!!!! sigh I'm sooooo average.

babyb sorry about the epic sickness, phone the dr about the tablets I would (or NHS direct).

Roobear you will get more energy, promise! I have more kind of energy for thinking 'yeah I'll do that' even if I conk out half way through, and that is already a major improvement.

And the news is....the scan was great! Woohoo! I think Beany was asleep (on her tummy, aw) so I had to do lots of acrobatics on the couch to get her moving about which she duly did. Due date hasn't changed though the sonographer suggested it could have 'but not by much so we won't bother' (oooookay) nuchal fold 1.9mm, length of sprogit 5.9mm. So thank heavens for all of that. I'm having the combined test so if risk is high I'll hear within the next 2 weeks. So let's hope I don't hear eh?!

Feeling much, much better but blood sugar got v low so a bit spaced, will take till tomorrow for it to correct itself I think - bah.

Hevster · 08/04/2010 15:27

DillyDora so glad your scan was good, I had mine today too and now have a due date of 09:10:10 was amazing to see it moving around and such a relief that we can now tell people.

Daynee · 08/04/2010 15:43

Congrats Dilly!! What wonderful news!

I'm jealous some of you are already getting maternity clothes!! Is something wrong with me? I bought those adjustable buttons for my pants and they are working fine for now...no mat clothes for me yet! I'm normally a size 4 and A cup...my boobies have grown a bit and my belly is pudgy, but that's about it. Should I be worried?

RooBear · 08/04/2010 15:50

I wouldn't be worried Daynee, just think of all the money you'll save! Even though I'm going shopping for maternity clothes on sat I might not fit into them yet and maybe just have to buy size bigger in the "normal" stores x x
