October 2010 babies?

Hi, I am a first-timer Mum to Be and Baby has been given a due date of 1 October. Very early dates still, so nervous and excited I cannot think about anything else! Planning not to tell family and friends till the first three months are over, but it's going to be tough!
Anyone else expecting an October baby out there?

Hello, I'm 11 weeks pregnant with my first baby and due October 3rd.

Thrilled and excited but I naively didn't expect to feel so awful throughout the first months. I'm exhausted all the time and 'morning' sickness lasts all day long.

SO looking forward to the next trimester, I'm told it gets much better from now on.

musicposy · 06/03/2010 11:00

Hi there, I am 6 weeks pregnant, due 27th Oct.

I haven't posted yet because I've already had a lot of scares, suspected ectopic etc, but all seems fine. Had a scan on Weds and it had been twins but they think one maybe is failing to thrive and won't make it as it was very small.

Also I'm 43 so I'm really worried about my miscarriage risk - taking one day at a time. I'm not feeling as sick as I did with my DD2 but my boobs are agony! I went to Asda and bought a hugely unglamorous "total support" bra with no underwiring because I was so desperate. I can't quite face mothercare yet!

I thought I should maybe say hello to you lovely people - I've been watching the thread with interest!

JazzieJeff · 06/03/2010 16:39

Hi girls, not posted in a few days been absolutely MAD at work
PFG; God I am so so so sorry wish I knew you personally so I could come and cheer you with copious amount of chocolate and bad films.
9/10 weeks yesterday; not sure which since the midwife told me not to take any notice of the dating they gave me at the hospital last week because early scans can be quite innaccurate. I am actually living in anything that comes with a stretchy waist band at the moment ie leggings because I just can't bear the thought of skinny jeans or belts or anything. All I want to do is sleep, enjoy elasticated waists and drink tea.
Musicposy; welcome to the thread. Really hope everything goes well with you. Try not to worry about your m/c risk; I mean, you could spend all day worrying about it couldn't you? I know it must be terribly difficult though. My boobs are now beginning to pop out of the largest bras I have but I don't want to move on to maternity anything just yet; went into M&S last week, took one look at the maternity bras and walked straight out of there! Soooo ugly!
Went clothes shopping today with DH but didn't buy anything. Feel very in - between at the moment; not quite ready to sharpen my elbows and get into Mothercare with the best of them, but don't want to buy anything in Topshop in case I pop out of it in a month. Any suggestions? I feel very unfashionable. And spotty. I must start to glow soon....

SilverSky · 06/03/2010 17:58

its spot city here and major dry skin. So attractive.

Boobs are big and firm. Nips still sensitive. Cant bear any pressure on my tum.

Another early night last night. About 930-10 and woke up to pee at 3 ish then back to sleep til 630 ish! Life is never going to be the same again.

Hermya321 · 06/03/2010 20:45

Welcome ohnororo and musicposey to the madness that is.

Jazzie I know what you mean, I'm tempted to be a bit of a wild child and not actually get into maternity bras until the last possible minute. Have you tried one of those tummy band things to extend your trousers and stuff, not sure about your tops. You could go on ebay and see if there was anything that struck your fancy there?

Silver I'm sorry about your skin, I know what you mean about boobs it's aggers isn't it.

I've had some brown spotting the last two days, I've contacted the midwife whose response was basically to wait and see. I've seen that other people have had this so I'm not too worried yet. Will have to think sticky thoughts.

Hermya321 · 06/03/2010 20:47

Oh by the way PFG is now at home on bedrest, she suffered an ectopic but is resting now.

PFG You're in my thoughts and I hope you feel better soon. I'm really sorry you had to go through that.

ThePFJ · 06/03/2010 22:59

Am home now resting.. Had my fallopian tube removed yesterday, am very sore. Had to post one last time, since you have all said such nice things to me and I didnt want you to worry.

Dilly,Jazzie and Hermya big big thank yous. You cheered me right up. XXX

If you wanted to read a bit more I posted on QuestionAnswered's thread here

All the best everyone.

DillyDora · 07/03/2010 18:49

HI PFJ not sure if you'll get this, hope you do. I'm so sorry, Love, what a total A*SE! It sounds like a grim experience in hospital too (read the other thread). I hope you're healing ok and it won't take too long to get pg again and back on the sicky dizzy spotty sleepy treadmill and very glad to be there! Hang on in there, Kid! Lots of love.

Big hello to the rest of the gang. Major boob envy from me, I was down to an A cup before I conceived and although there are signs of an increase I'm not really bursting out of anything (except trainer bras?!). Tummy getting bigger now though I guess that's bloat not baby so I too will have to seek wardrobe solutions.

Hi to ohnoro & musicoposy! Hope all will be well music and I know what you mean about feeling awful ohno, it's not fun just now is it.

Hi to Hermya and nice to hear from you Jazzie! Hi to Silversky. My spots are unreal, I'm mortified - I bought some post medicated cover up but it only makes them look worse - it's like being a teenager all over again!

Ok, must be nap time again, lots of love to all

Girls, today I broke and bought a pair of maternity jeans that I don't even need. It;s because I need stretchiness at the moment and I can't continue to wear leggings day in, day out because I've worn them so much I'm starting to look/feel like a tramp. And my God, they are comfy. Admittedly, I can't go out of the flat in them because they're too loose but my tummy is crying out in thanks. I can still fit in my normal jeans perfectly but it's just I can't bear any sort of pressure AT ALL on my tummy area. It's not uncomfortable like when you're a bit too fat for your jeans, more like an annoying feeling because I don't want anything touching round my abdomen. Is anyone having the same feeling? Also got some long vest tops from Next, £14 for a pack of three so hopefully I won't feel so chubby when I next go out.
Right though, why is it that shops put their maternity wear right at the back of the shop and squeeze it on one or two racks? Also, why can't you have normal stylish stuff? Like why can't I go round Topshop or River Island, choose stuff I usually buy and then get them to order that in maternity?
Rant over

dappymoo · 07/03/2010 19:14

hellooo,
Just thought I'd say hi, supposedly due on 27th Sept but all in theory til the scan at the moment...
I'm having a freak out today as my boobs suddenly AREN'T sore... we can't win can we? So keeping my fingers crossed this doesn't mean too much...

Also waiting with baited breath for dating scan as my wedding is planned for the end of august... and we're thinking of still going ahead....shall I wear a tent??

Anyway, I am the first of my gang to get up the duff, so very much in need of friends to hold hands with...!

BooBoosMumma · 07/03/2010 20:54

Hi everyone, so reassuring to find you!

This is our first so I am devouring any books and websites I can find, any recommendations gladly received.

I'm ten weeks tomorrow, due 4 Oct, so fingers crossed only two more weeks of secrecy then I can finally tell the world I'm not (just!) fat - I'm pregnant!

Where do I find a list of all the acronyms you're using???

JazzieJeff · 07/03/2010 22:21

Hey dappymoo, don't worry yourself about non sore boobness. I had the exact same thing and lost the nausea as well completely I was so scared I went for a scan but all was fine. I think relaxing at the weekends has a lot to do with it. A few days later my noonday were hurting again! But to be honest you've got to have the symptoms ease up sometime or another. X

Hermya321 · 08/03/2010 08:38

Dappymoo I agree with Jazzie I had horrid nausea and I had a couple of days off of work and it started to go. From what I've read stress does play a part in how severe it is.

Jazzie What are they like? Where did you get your jeans from?

Booboosmama If you look at the top of the page, theres a link to the page with all the acronyms on it. Also welcome to the thread and congratulations!!

DillyDora · 08/03/2010 09:12

Morning Lovelies,

Kind of comforting to hear about the nausea/stress link - makes sense to me. I am so worried about everything and I feel soooo sick.

Jazzie there should be lovely maternity stuff from Top Shop - saw some nice things online. I'm hoping a lot of my stuff will fit me for a while - I've got a big bum and small waist (well, less so now!) so my skirts and trousers never did fit round the tum, maybe they'll be a bit forgiving for a while now (she said hopefully!).

Hi Dappymoo a friend of ours got married when she was about 8 months pregnant and she looked AMAZIIIIING! In quite a structured, shortish, silk dress, absolutely stunning. You too will look fab.

Wfh today - hurrah!

nomorewine · 08/03/2010 09:12

Oh PFG, you poor thing. Hope things are looking up for you soon. x

I have had a grim weekend with an upset stomach, so hard to know what has been pregnancy related & what has been illness related, or indeed whether the whole thing was indeed pregnancy related!
Had diarrhoea from the early hours of yesterday morning until last night, which wasn't much fun, especially as boys seemed to be playing me up just that little bit more! Seems to have calmed down now, but I am left with stomach cramps so have decided to take the morning off work.

Hoping I am not off tea for too much longer as really missing my cup in the morning, but really cannot stomach tea at all atm.

Must admit that I keep prodding my boobs to make sure they are still tender. I seem to be more paranoid about symptoms or lack of them than I ever was with my other pregnancies. Boobs have definitely enlarged though, and my nipples are just ridiculous!

AllieW · 08/03/2010 13:16

So sorry to hear that PFJ.

I appear to be feeling a lot more sick this time round than last. With DD I just retched if I smelt anything horrible, but this time it's much worse. I have a feeling I may actually be sick at some point. (DH hadn't cleaned the litter tray in the bathroom for a few days and yesterday I actually had to stay in the lounge until he'd done it because otherwise I'd have definitely puked. Bleurgh.)

Hope everyone else is doing ok and not feeling too grotty.

DillyDora · 08/03/2010 13:19

Hi Allie I'm sooo sicky, I almost wish I'd be sick and just get it over with. A friend bought us a bunch of hyacinths which normally I would love but I'll have to give them away as they just give me a sick headache. I'm getting a bit fed up with this sickytiredy business and I'm not even 8 weeks gone yet! Argh! Where is my stamina?!

Also getting much more teary, is anyone else getting more of that. See - DH just phoned, he is in the supermarket buying me crackers and that makes me cry!

AllieW · 08/03/2010 13:25

A little bit, DillyDora. I was watching a programme on G.O.L.D. about Ken Dodd yesterday and found myself getting misty eyed at certain points - heaven alone knows why!!!

DillyDora · 08/03/2010 13:28

Ken Dodd!!!?!? Crumbs.... that's got to be hormones!

sophieandbelly · 08/03/2010 13:28

hi girls!! iam back havnt posted in ages, i have felt so sick and tired that havnt had the energy with a toddler aswell!
i envy 1st timers!! being able to put feet up ( not saying u feel beta etc) but not having a 2 yr old dragging u up to dance to her keyboard music would be bliss!!!

i to am find i hate any pressure on tummy, my leggings still fit, but was thinking may buy some maternity ones so go over my belly! my size 14 jeans fit with a pinch but if iam being honest were getting touch tight over xmas anyway.

i cant believe i have the deff beginnings of a bump at 9 bloody weeks!!! what is that about, can i ask u ladies on 2+ are u showing early to? i hear that fairly common 2nd + time??

i didnt look like this til 16 wks + with dd.
god iam am going to look like a warthog

iam also having weird dreams not nice ones about the pregnancy, def feel more causious this time.

DillyDora · 08/03/2010 13:39

Hi sophieandbelly I have no idea how you do this with a toddler already! We had my DSS here at the weekend and I was in no fit state - really ratty and had to keep lying down. Though oddly 'kid food' is really appealing - I ate chicken dippers and horrible pasta sauce and it was like manna from heaven!
Sorry about the horrid dreams, love, that doesn't sound very nice. I have vivid dreams that I don't remember unless my bladder gets me up! Otherwise I sleep like a log - hurray! Long may it continue, I had insomnia at first and it really upset me.

xx

Hermya321 · 08/03/2010 14:08

Dilly I saw you on the other thread. I tend to bounce from thread to thread if I'm honest. But thank you for your message though. I haven't had anymore spotting or cramping as of yet and I've got such sore boobs today that I'm taking that as a good sign.

Personally I can't wait to get to 12 weeks.

Sophie I've had some really vivid dreams as well, but mine have been really really boring. One was about trying to work out how to put the car seat into the car. Another was about how stressed I was to find out I'd run out of coins on Farmville and another was literally a dream about being at work. I mean how boring is my unconcious mind.

I'm off to visit the EPAU tomorrow, I had some spotting and ended up at the Docs with shooting pains in my tummy so they've refered me. They didn't seem too concerned but I think it was a matter of safe than sorry.

Do I have to go with a full bladder to the EPAU?

Ipanema · 08/03/2010 14:18

Hello October ladies and congratulations to all! Look forward to sharing our wonderful journey!

My EDD is 6th Oct so almost two more weeks to go before my 12-week scan, can't wait! Had an 8-wk scan already (no special reason, but suspect hospital system misread my EDD) which provoked serious welling up when seeing wee bean and hearing heartbeat. Very touching. It is our first and we're over the moon.

I'm enduring MS on and off and experiencing a total lack of energy and stamina, getting used to not being my own self and accepting it (DH also learning to!), which some weeks ago had me really upset.

DillyDora I'm also incredibly emotional and teary, and sleeping for the world - agree with stress-sickness correlation.

Cravings come and go. I'm sick of hearing myself tell DH I'm feeling sicky - so line now goes: I'm feeling it.

We plan to tell family and friends at Easter break when visiting for the hols but atm we've only told 3 close friends.

Jazzie Went shopping to deal with crappy bloatie feeling and found Zara has some really nice loose shirts that should fit a 4-5-month bump easily; got one with a belt and I feel like a new woman!

PFJ it's sad to read your news and I do hope you start to feel stronger and getting lots of love and support, look forward to reading good news from you soon...

Hermya good luck at the EPAU tomorrow and it's good the pain has stopped.

Sorry for longish post...

Have a lovely evening you all

babybunting2010 · 08/03/2010 15:17

Hi all,

Very sorry to read PFJ's news and hope to hear that the stork is coming for her again soon!

I am now 8+4 and feeling exceedingly fed up. Am so tired it's not even funny, MS is all day and not relenting even when sleeping... Boobs are like 2 giant boulders (and bearing in mind I am a F cup when not pregnant they actually weigh the same as boulders!)

It is so lovely to read everyone else's posts and feels a lot better to know that we are all in the same boat.

Am learning a lot about what we don't know about pregnancy until we are pregnant... so wondered if anyone fancied a game....

what they don't tell you about pregnancy

1.) Sleep is disrupted at 4 weeks by constant dreams and peeing! (All good training)

Hope you all join in otherwise I am going to look a bit stupid but hey!
