DQ: Have a lovely, relaxing time in Portugal! Bon Voyage! We will all be waiting to hear how amazing it was when you return. Sorry that the packing is a nightmare but I am sure that you will find it all worthwhile.

My mum's advice: Take half as much stuff and twice as much money!

munz · 11/08/2005 22:46

oh have fun DQ. we'll be expecting a blow by blow account of it all!

cadmum - ur mum sounds like my kinda woman!

DQ have fun any room in your suitcase for a Friz?

If you want a laugh look at the March thread, I have turned into an emotional wrek...

romilly · 12/08/2005 14:58

hey munzie - yay, 10 weeks - hasnt it gone sloooooowly! lol, hope the next two go a bit quicker. dont worry about tummy pains, i looked them up in my "what to expect" book and it says that tugging pains are normal. there are a lot of things expanding down there at the moment.
not long til your scan now hon.

dq. - i have probably missed you but have a great time in portugal anyway lucky thing.

nemo - new thread is a great idea when everyone is ready, i think you should do the honours again.

cadmum - hope you are having a lovely time with your d/h if he is still home.

george - are you working hard again?

friz - sorry you are feeling a bit emotional, cheer up hon. its nearly the weekend

george32 · 12/08/2005 18:15

Ha ha ha Rom, working hard!! Um, er, the opposite today. Went to see a customer this morning then came home & slept all afternoon Whoops, I think everything is catching up with me.

Congratulations on hitting 10 weeks Rom & Munz. Only 14 days & you are pretty much in the clear. When is your next scan Rom?

Friz, nothing wrong with being emotional. I can cry for hours at the moment, I much prefer it to being grumpy.

Well 20 weeks yesterday for me so the countdown has begun.......

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 12/08/2005 18:22

OMG - 10 weeks already - 1/4 of the way through now girls!

Im not officially 3/4 of the way through! SCARED now!

Frizbe · 12/08/2005 19:19

OMG girls, the day is going from bad to worse...
I hope I don't set you all off with this, but just heard some horrible news from some friends of ours who are at the other end of the country....
my friend went into hospital yesteday for a c-section as they thought her baby was big..... and he died upon delivery , massive heart attack, postmortem will tell more, but he was 15lbs, so very large = some indicator of a problem? just feeling helpless for her and her family, so really hope you don't mind me posting this, but I needed to vent somewhere.....

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 12/08/2005 19:24

OMG Frizbe, thats awful..... sympathies.

Why on earth did the hospital let her get that big???? a 15lb baby is not normal and certainly should not have been left that long surely???

Thinking of you hun x

george32 · 12/08/2005 19:27

Frizbe, how awful. 15lbs sounds awfully big for a baby so I guess it could well be an indicator of a problem. Your poor friends.

J&BM, do you mean you are 3/4 of the way through? The stork will be flying in soon then!!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 12/08/2005 19:29

yep - im 30 weeks today...... not long to go now!

Frizbe · 12/08/2005 20:51

J&BM, we don't know why they let her get that big, from what I can gather at the mo, they didn't think baby was going to be that big or that there was a problem, until last minute.....I'm guessing they'll be a full enquiry....

Nemo1977 · 12/08/2005 21:16

aww frizbe hugs to you and you r friend too how horrible.

OP posts:
romilly · 13/08/2005 14:04

frizbe so sorry to hear about your friend losing her baby, what a tragic thing to happen. it is really shocking that they hadnt picked up any problem earlier. poor girl, my heart goes out to her.

george - 20 weeks! how fabulous, you deserve all the rest you can get so dont feel guilty! my next scan is the 12 week one on the 30th August. i really have quite a bump visible already, which is weird considering i am hardly keeping anything down. just projectiled my weetabix this morning - am sure you all wanted to know that, lol!!

jessicasbump - 3/4 of the way through sounds just amazing to me! is this your first?

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 13/08/2005 14:26

2nd Romilly.... Jessica is 12.5 months old so small gap!

romilly · 13/08/2005 14:40

george32 · 14/08/2005 09:49

LOL @ Rom!!

I've spotted on another thread that it is your birthday today J&BM - have a lovely day.

Frizbe, how is your weekend going? Are you still a bit delicate or feeling better? A nice big box of Thorntons should sort you out.

romilly · 14/08/2005 13:05

happy birthday J&BM

frizbe - i think george is right, try chocolate

munz - those houseguests are obviously keeping you busy, very quiet from you lately, hope you are not getting too tired hon.

also cadmum - ? - i spotted on the ante natal thread you are feeling v. sick now, see - never speak too soon! just when you think you are fine... BAM! seriously though, have found lying comatose on the sofa doing zero helps a lot

Frizbe · 14/08/2005 15:29

Hi girls, weekend got better thanks! Had a pile of friends round last night, all of whom tried to avoid discussing our mutual friend in front of me, badly I might add, bless em, they were all really afraid of upsetting me, what with my hormones n all that....we have no further news on that front, bar one of our mob, who has gone down to take hubby out and get him sozzled/be a shoulder to cry on etc....
In the meantime we ate a pile of curry and I watched everyone else get drunk and bicker about various things! happy, cause I got a lot of curry! yum, yum, yum!
Have been to visit my great gran today, 92! she informed me that her cousins daughter has just had twins! argh! they run on GGrans side of the family....some of her 5 sisters are twins....argh! have Scan Tuesday, so will find out then......
Hope your all feeling ok, I have no sickness today so far, so hurray!

Frizbe · 14/08/2005 15:30

Oh and Happy Birthday J&BM!
