couldnt get on MN yesterday - bella, i am so so sorry hon that you had your hopes built up and then wretched AF reared its ugly head. just seems so unfair. dont let it get you down too much please, you can still do it bella.

wendy - thinking of you today, it was interesting to hear that cadmum had a similar experience - i think the doctors comments sounded very rash. the waiting must be agonizing - but keep positive, i know you will. xx

sorry to all the beanie gang that i havent been too chatty recently. have had some major upheavals going on at work which have involved meeting after meeting for me - and i am feeling so icky so much of the day that it is as much as i can do to just pretend i am functioning normally! when i come home i just collapse and have been getting ridiculously early nights. what a lightweight!

isnt much fun being in london at the moment either frankly

Dqueen/nemo and george - how long did your morning sickness last for? (that perennial question, lol)

Nemo1977 · 23/07/2005 14:05

o bella hunny im soooooooo sorry

Cadmum · 23/07/2005 14:18

{{{Bella}}} I am sorry. What a nightmare!

Frizbe · 23/07/2005 15:14

Oh Bella, {{{Hugs}}}

dramaqueen72 · 23/07/2005 17:02

rom, my sickness was pretty severe, -with meds even. it lasted til about wk....14?13? or there abouts. sorry if thats just depressed you......vut of course once its gone you can barely remember it.mother nature and her rose tinted glasses at work again.....

Cadmum · 24/07/2005 16:15

Hello! It is quiet on here...

Hereshoping: Haven't heard from you in a while. I hope you are well and that bean is behaving.

Wendy: Still thinking of you and sending you positive vibes.

DQ: Were you ill enough to require meds in previous pregnancies? How long did you have to take them for.

dramaqueen72 · 24/07/2005 19:17

cadmum, yes quiet thread, I do check in tho

no very sick with last pg (dd) but never took meds, worse again with this pg, and had to take meds just to literally stop me throwing up 24hrs a day - very miserable few weeks. apparently if you get m/s it usually worsens with subsequent pg hence this one making me the worst. it was so very bad i can honestly say I dont think I could ever go thro it again.not that four children isnt enough anyhow
how long til your scan now? my 'big' scan is aug 3rd, and BOY am i nervous. felt a first big proper kick today so thats made me smile alot. just need to feel more more more to reassure myself!

wendy hope youre hanging in there, keep talking to that mini bean and willing him on, theres one heck of an amount of positive vibes coming frmo mumsnet to you and him/her too. its gotta count for something. thinking of you.
rom hows it going? come on guys let keep each other up to date, you too yingerslove hearing from someone ahead of me,

Cadmum · 24/07/2005 19:30

Hi DQ: I just tried the slogan maker that nemo suggested on your ante-natal thread (snoopy ol' me) and I was shocked with: The best Cadmum a man can get so I tried again and it came up with: Who would you have a Cadmum with? I decided to quit before it came up with anything worse!

Frizbe · 24/07/2005 20:13

Lol Cadmum!

Cadmum · 24/07/2005 20:31

Frizbe: glad I made you smile! Nice to see your post on the other thread.

DQ: I meant to add that my first scan is on the 9th of August so only 2 weeks, 2 days to go. I am also nervous as anything. (Understandable since my last two scans were disastrous) I also took meds with DD (my second pregnancy) because I could not stop being sick. I waited until I was 18 weeks but it just would not let up... What kind of doppler do you have? I would love to order from Doppler Mike but he only delivers in the UK... DH made a funny comment about it being foolish to have one as it would send me around the bend if I couldn't find the baby's HB. What would you do if that happened or even if the beat was irregular?

Nemo1977 · 24/07/2005 20:37

hi all
cadmum have u actually asked doppler mike about posting outside uk as im sure i saw feedback fron germany and usa???????

hope your all ok..feels like ages till scan even though it is on 9th aug. Think because my last one was at 8wks it seems to have been an age. I am 19+2 today which is abit of a shock..lol

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 24/07/2005 21:45

cadmum, its got to be easier to get a doppler over there! the sites over here are all shipping form the usa! I have only once not been able to find the heartbeat, -and I listen everyday or every other day since wk11!- i just put it away, went for a walk about and tried later.sure enough there it was. its always very low on me, but thats okay, if hes comfy down there I am returning mine (mybump.co.uk) next month once the movements are frequent.
know what you mean about the scan......even tho dh has pointed out I have had more good than bad ones, the bad ones haunt me each time i clamber on that bed to be scanned I am either shaking like a leaf or actually have tears running down my cheeks. however the joy last time at a good scan was a fabulous feeling so I hope yours is just like that,
nemo we all loved that slogan site in this house....dd2 was mild green mollie liquid!! v funny.
i also got grab life by the dramaqueen

Cadmum · 25/07/2005 02:37

Nemo: I did not specifically ask him but only because the site clearly states that he delivers to the UK only... Perhaps I will send a request. (Am new to the whole concept of EBay )

DQ: I re-read my question and I suppose that it was a rather stupid one. I think that my big concern is that all 3 of my miscarriages were beyond the 13 week mark so if something like that was to happen again and I was to discover it (or even just suspect the worst if I couldn't find the HB) I might lose the plot. IYKWIM... I am debating whether I am actually an ideal candidate to have such a device. I would LOVE to have the reasurance though...

Cadmum · 25/07/2005 02:39

Oh yeah, I meant to add that there are quite a few companies that do deliver in Canada but not with the fetal heart read-out and the prices seem higher than on Doppler Mike for used ones than his new ones.

george32 · 25/07/2005 09:16

Cadmum, I've only not found the heartbeat a couple of times & once I'd jumped around the room it appeared again. I find it really re-assuring. Mine hasn't got a heart rate read out. I count it occasionally but I don't feel like I've missed out not having it.

Nemo, know what you mean about the scans seeming so far apart. My last one was 10 weeks & it seems a lifetime ago. Can't wait for the 9th Aug to see what is in there!!

I've been quite lucky with my sickness Rom, only really queasy for the first 13 or 14 weeks. Only started actually being sick in the last few weeks(I'm doing things backwards!! ). Having a morning at home today as the retching has started again. Seems to be when I over-do it and especially when I don't get a good nights sleep. The tubes are shocking though. Makes me grim every morning, I can't wait to get off as they are so sick making.

Wendy, hope you are OK. Is your next scan this Friday? I keep sending my thoughts across to your little one.

Bella, how are you? Was it definitely AF that started? Hope you had a good weekend away. Did you go anywhere nice? I hope you are doing OK.

Bella23 · 25/07/2005 09:36

Morning all ladies.
Weekend away was lovely with some friends where we just ate and drank lots and tried to forget about dreaded AF.
Trying to keep my spirits up, have had a nice long sob and cuddles with DH and feel a lot better.
Well back to the drawing board and CD2 for me.....7 months now and its really getting me down. Even bought a crystal over the weekend which is supposed to help fertility - at this rate am going to end up in the nut house!
Anyway enough of my crap, all you ladies sound like you are blossoming. Just wishing all the positive energy to Wendy for Friday. Will be thinking of you this week, hang in there honey xxxxx

Well, will pop in on Friday to see how it all went but might have to give up MM this week, you know how it is, just need a break from thinking about TTC.

Thanks again ladies, you are all fab! xxx

wendy11 · 25/07/2005 12:18

Hello everyone

Just checking in with all of you. No changes here just waiting for Friday. At least my appointment is at 8.00 so just get up and go. Dreading it. One minute I feel OK about everything as tummy is starting to bulge and I think well if that is happening something must be growing in there even if it is slowly and then the next minute I am thinking that the consultant sees pg's every day of the week and they know what is a stayer and what is not. So hope that we can prove him wrong. Should say tummy bulge may also be due to comfort eating as seem to be eating a load of rubbish at the moment

Bella - I am so sorry for all that you have been through in the last week. It is such a cruel twist of fate. Keep positive and keep chating, everything will come good in the end.

Hope everyone is well and theit little beans are behaving.

Thanks for all your positive words and thoughts. This little one is so lucky to have so many people rooting for him/her. Keep thinking and praying for us and I will let you know how we get on.

george32 · 25/07/2005 16:09

Hi Wendy, I'm glad there have been no changes as it means that there is still hope for Friday. It's good you can go in the morning, otherwise the day would seem endless. I just hope that it is good news. {{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}

It sounds like you did exactly the right thing this weekend Bella. I'm glad you are getting lots of support from your DH. Keep going. It will happen.

Cadmum, not sure if you have seen this doppler for sale on MN. Might be worth asking if she will post across to you.

Frizbe · 25/07/2005 16:16

Good stuff Wendy, fingers x'd for friday for you.

Hi to everyone else, glad your all feeling ok, especially you bella {{Hugs}}

dramaqueen72 · 25/07/2005 20:16

wendy, so very glad you are hanging in there, and hopefully that beanie too. its a good sign i think also if hes still hanging in there. hope friday you get to prove the Dr wrong. everything xed for you.

munz · 26/07/2005 13:41

hiya girls hope everyone's doing OK.

wend - glad u stopped by hon, how's things today? still hoping for good news on friday. good luck with it.

Frizbe · 26/07/2005 14:57

Hi all just a quick drop by 9 Weeks today!! argh! 7 mths till new baby, argggghhhhhhhhhh! still seems very unreal.....but I still feel sick, so assuming all is ok! although not as sick as I have been feeling, so hopefully that's on its way out now!
Hope your all ok?
Wendy sending you positive vibes {{Hugs}}

romilly · 26/07/2005 15:48

frizbe - 9 weeks!!! well done. i am 7+3 so cant wait to get where you are! munzie you must be 7+5 or something now?

wendy - we are all thinking of you so much this week, i have hardly had time to get on here - but it doesnt mean i dont think of you guys and you especially wendy. i hope to god that friday will be good news and that you can put this awful time of worry behind you. i am heartened that your bulge seems to be growing - now just stay postive hon. i know you will. x

cadmum - i agree with you about the doppler, should i/shouldnt i??!! is it just going to be another thing to worry about? it is interesting hearing dramaqueen and george talking about them, must admit i am tempted now.

dqueen - god you poor thing - i didnt realize you suffered that much with the morning sickness. one of the reasons i havent been on here much is cause i have been feeling pretty vile myself. and NOTHING seems to help. not complaining, mind!

george - yes! tubes and pregnancy are not a good combination at all! in fact any london transport for that matter. i am developing a v. expensive black cab habit

munzie - is d/h back from exercise yet? are you constantly eating like i am? i am right off chocolate would you believe!

bella - glad you got on with your weekend, and in scarlett o hara's immortal words - tomorrow is another day or rather, this month is a new month and please god, let it be bella's month..·´ ¸.·´¨)
