Am 36 weeks pregnant. I can't sleep. Baby movements when she goes are massive and painful but then she will be silent for ages making me wish for the movement. Can't get comfy sitting or lying down. Have no motivation to do anything (am supposed to be working from home at mo). Having lots of braxton hicks but know I probably still have at least another four weeks of this and every day it gets just a bit worse! I know this is all part of natures master plan to make labour seem like a relief but grrrrrrrrr! Phew that felt better to whinge (despite me knowing I also have a lot to be thankful for- this baby is alive and kicking (previous mmc), have not put weight on anywhere other than bump in fact lost weight everywhere else!, have not had piles, carpal tunnel, restless legs, swollen ankles or anything so prob by most standards this is a straightforward pregnancy (apart from the stopping breathing in night thingy and reduced foetal movement dramas!)

Please post your grumps here and enjoy ordering cyberrly all the things you shouldn't eat (mine is a baked in box Camembert and large glass of rose cava thanks!). Of course the added advantage of starting this thread is that of you are all feeling much worse than me, then I shall feel very nesh and maybe pull myself together instead of being a great big grumpy pants!

22 weeks pg with first bump, measuring huge, really happy.

Great a rum/ginger aperitif please with peanut snacks.

OK I want my boobs back! I would just love not to have to wear skin chaffing scaffolding to support them. They somehow skipped C,D,DD and went straight up to E and show no sign of stopping!

Alas it was not a case of onwards and upwards, in fact they seem to be giving my Irish setter's huge droopy ears a real run for their money. Oh and in a certain light they look like AA maps of the motorway ring roads.

Sod the baby fund I need a reconstructive surgery fund!!

OOhh that's better!

Now then I'd love a baked whole camenbert with crudite washed down with a fruity red followed by white chocolate cheesecake with pomegranates and a limoncello sorbet.

Thank you XC

brings 34-week bump to the table and orders baked camembert and a pint of cold beer

Hello my people.

I'm thrilled about being pregnant, but also very much looking forward to the end of it!

stressheaderic · 06/01/2010 21:53

33 weeks....backache, kidney infection, severe anemia, giant baby with seemingly sharp fingers and toes concealed in small bump, 3 more weeks in work....

Pregnancy is shit. Pass the vodka.

mawbroon · 06/01/2010 22:16

32+4 second pregancy.

Everything going ok pregnancy wise, but our family just recovered from an 8 week stretch of some or all of us being ill. Then ds (age 4) got an ear infection.

Then on sunday, I broke my ankle. At least 6 weeks in plaster. Might have to have a section if baby is breech (have weird shaped uterus, ds got stuck in breech position) which will mean another 6 weeks of being immobile.

not quite sure how I am going to cope, but ho hum, just have to get on with it.

Been tee total for 5 years (since pg with ds) but would like to order a triple vodka in the pregnancy grump cafe please.

I'm feeling a bit guilty after reading this lot. I have been happily eating smoked salmon, peanuts, seafood, and am I only person not to have had a few glasses of wine over the festive period?

Oops

Emster30 · 06/01/2010 22:37

You're not alone, Rene - I am having one glass of wine a week and really really enjoying it. I'm trying to stick fairly closely to up to date guidelines which for this country say that peanuts, smoked salmon, well-cooked seafood and rare steak are all fine! But I take the attitude that everyone has to decide for themselves what they are comfortable with eating. I started being really good about egg yolks being solid but I couldn't keep that one up - I love my runny eggs.

My family all keep telling me I should listen to my body and eat what I fancy but I can't make them understand it doesn't work like that!

I am quite enjoying pregnancy at this stage (not quite 12 weeks) but I'm not looking forward to all these nasty things to come!

rumpleteaser · 07/01/2010 06:18

25wks 1st bump - it's MASSIVE, boobs are MASSIVE, DP calls me a little barrel, can't find a coat that does up, can't get up from lying down without grunting and rolling round like an up-turned tortoise, backache when walking small distances, peeing almost NONSTOP, burping almost NONSTOP, one boop and one leg bigger than the other and bellybutton off centre so I feel wonky...

but apart from that I love feeling and watching the baby move, I love baby shoes, I love my maternity leggings and I even love DP shouting 'hello' through my (off centre) bellybutton!

I would REALLY love, a cold pint of lager, a prawn cocktail, a seafood pizza, and maybe a bottle of rose and some brie! mmm

rumpleteaser · 07/01/2010 06:20

haha I meant boob not boop

flyingcloud · 07/01/2010 08:13

Yes, I've had a glass when I felt like, usually a glass of champagne once or twice a week.

Have also eaten (cooked) seafood/shellfish and peanuts - which I thought was fine? But I suppose it depends on where you live and your history - smoked salmon is on the banned list here and I got lots of shocked looks from eating very high-quality Irish smoked salmon (where you can eat it) here over Christmas.

Thandeka · 07/01/2010 08:59

This mornings grump- I used to be able to sleep in loads of diff positions -including my fave on my tum if I was struggling to get to sleep. Or curled up in foetal position with knees drawn right up. Now I feelmost comfortable on my back but that is banned so now have to settle with 15min night rotations 15 on lhs 15 onback til I get panicked about that bloody artery cutting off blood supply to bub and 15 mins on rhs. Anytime I turn it also means a manoeuvering of dream genii pillow plus bub likes to go mental on lhs or rhs in night but is quiet on back (probably coz of artery/no room!) so basically sleep is doomed! So this morning I would like a large milky coffee with a very large slug of baileys in it. It maybe too early to drink but the snow means it's still Christmas!

No grumps from me this morning. Managed to get a semi decent sleep despite co sleeping with ds. Had no pain in my leg when getting up. Then managed to get ds his breakfast and help him dress while dh was showering and getting my breakfast for me.

Nothing like a broken ankle to take one's mind off the late pregnancy niggles.

thislittlesisterlola · 07/01/2010 10:41

i am 14 weeks and we've had no heating or hot water so moved to my folks am sleeping terribly plus the weird breathing thing. And it all only going to get worse. I feel quite good after feeling rough for a while- which is worrying as im now concerned this is not normal and my hormones means this brings me to tears. please can i have champagne, a big plate of smelly cheese, oysters and runny eggs and large coffee with a chocolate souffle. And on top of everything i am so happy to pg just paranoid it will be taken away.

I was awake at midnight last night with a very bad stomach IYSWIM. Dp had it at 8pm last night so I guess we ate something dodgy. Luckily he is off work again today so I have just been back to bed for 2 hours

I have a horrible feeling that I have some of vein problem in my groin. Its really hurting in the side, babies head is engaged.

I WANT THIS BABY OUT!! I will be 37 weeks tomorrow.

I too have had a drink - On New Years Day, just one and it was lovely That will be it for a while though.

first1 · 07/01/2010 12:43

Ahh yes I'm happy to let off a moan! I'm 21+3 with first bump although I still look like I've just put on a bit of podge. Proper bump now please! Got raging thrush to the point I can barely close my legs, I cry about pretty much anything and am hating the snow. Roll on May!

bigpreggybelly · 07/01/2010 15:03

I'm so sick of raspberry leaf tea. Can't wait for my sloe gin to finish brewing.

harleysmama · 07/01/2010 15:46

im 35 weeks today! cant wait to sleep at night with out heart burn making me want to cry. im really looking forward to a "me" day(sometime way into the future) getting my hair done, fake tan, nails and make up and a brand new outfit. girls round for vino and dancing the night away round my handbag and pizza on the way home!! bliss!

Thandeka · 07/01/2010 15:53

Bigpreggybelly your post is the one thing that has made me smile today!

I just went round to the docs to take DH's forms in (5 years together and it isn't until our PFB is about to emerge he finally thinks its a good idea to register with the docs so he can take bub too!) anyhow after slip sliding all over the show I remember that the docs is possibly closed on a thurs arvo but decide to continue to double check. I was right. I then realise the ice is incredibly dangerous and it was a stupid idea for me to leave the house and to go onto tescos to get bread, milk and some nice biscuits to cheer me up would actually be foolish so i slid home again.

I just want a stupidly hot jacuzzi and an ice cold pint of fizzy wine.Instead I shall go eat all the christmas chocs!

Oh Shiregirl you are bang on the money, I am 27 weeks and already fed up of no missionary position!

I'd like a big hearty whinge about my bump being sporadically hard and uncomfortable all day to the extent that I'm on the sofa under strict orders to do nothing. Now I think about it, what's my problem exactly?! Just worrying about why I'm getting seemingly extended braxton hicks - any tips or reassurance?

On my Bad Mother menu I'd like to request a starter of steak tartare with raw egg yolk and a noggin of fine single malt, followed by ice cold oysters au nature, then a salad of pan fried chicken livers, followed by a full on selection of unpasteurised cheeses - the runnier and smellier the better. All washed down with copious amounts of NZ riesling.

Thanks, and if I can choose a waiter please can it be Steve Jones?

mama2moo · 07/01/2010 19:09

harleysmama I was like that with heartburn/breathlessness until I hit 36 weeks then it just all went. The baby has dropped and I cant believe the difference. I hope that happens for you.

I am not going anywhere until this snow/ice goes. I am so bloody bored though. Dp has been home since yesterday. He couldnt move the car at all this morning. Quite scary considering Im 37 weeks tomorrow.

tinylion · 07/01/2010 19:57

I would like to order a hyuuuuge glass of very cold white wine please with some king prawns and a chilli dip, mussels in white wine sauce and then perhaps a large glass or two of coke with plenty of ice to finish off (I have a MASSIVE coke craving...)

I'm 22 weeks and like a barrel, sick of being hungry all the time, looking like a little fat dwarf and it being soooo long til I pop...

snowed in too, so nothing to do except entertain whingey toddler....

harleysmama · 07/01/2010 20:26

thats reassuring mama2moo im also bored due to snow but gives us more time for mumsnet lol

woowa · 07/01/2010 20:31

PEANUTS ARE FINE!!

The FSA changed their advice on peanuts when I was about 12 weeks, so in about July - there is no evidence of a link between eczema or food allergies in parents and peanut allergies in babies.

Go wild oh fellow grumpy ladies- gorge yourself on peanuts...just stay off all the other yummy stuff, and stay in the house to avoid the ice. Peanuts don't quite make up for the rest of the stuff we can't eat, do they?!

woowa · 07/01/2010 20:35

But i'd like to submit a complaint about consultant obstetricians who threaten to over-medicalise birth unnecessarily. You'll have to read the Feb thread for the full whinge though!!

MrsScotty · 07/01/2010 21:35

this thread has made me laugh out loud at least ten times. I am beyond thrilled that there are other chuubsters (as hubby calls me)as grumpy as me.

bring on labour I say I want this baby OUT!

35+4 and counting. By hook or by crook she's coming out on time.
