i have a scan booked for Wed, (booked ages ago) should i just wait till then, see what happens over next day or what?

Please please, advise me, this is the furthest ive got, if i loose this it will be mc number 5 i cant go through that agin i cant.

Had scan at 7 weeks and they said that i had a haematoma behind the placenta which could come away, but ive had nothing, could it be that?
Cant tell dh, cant he will be devastated.

Brown blood is old so that is good, yes?

It isn't you not doing something right, it is nature.

Call your midwife. You could get an emergency scan with your history.

CracklinRosie · 07/12/2009 14:24

It's understandable for you to be worried - I know I would have been. But, really, every pregnancy book and website says some spotting in early pregnancy can be normal - my best friend had this throughout hers and everything was fine in the end. Don't despair, but do call your midwife/GP for a scan or just some reassurance.

I will be thinking of you and hoping all goes well

hoops997 · 07/12/2009 14:38

sunburn phone your midwife, just to be on the safe side

bramblebooks · 07/12/2009 15:04

sweetie, phone your midwife for reassurance, Wednesday's a long way away when you're worried. xxxx

Ewe · 07/12/2009 15:34

I had a haematoma and it led to on off bleeding in early pregnancy, always brown blood so it's quite possible it is that. DD is currently crouched at my feet and a picture of health, all was fine.

Hope it's the same for you, fingers crossed for you!

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 07/12/2009 15:37

Hi sunburn are you ok? There are loads of people on the kincker-checkers website who had bleeding early on and had healthy pregnancies. Do you have an EPU that you can call to see if you can get your scan sooner?

Sending sticky thoughts your way x

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 07/12/2009 15:37

website? D'oh, I mean thread.

sunburntats · 07/12/2009 15:44

what will they do if i go sooner, they cant stop me from miscarrying.
I will see how i am today and tomorow, then jsut go its 1st thing on Wed morning.

There is nothing i can do now, jsut wait and see what happens.

This is it for me, the last time i will put myself through it. If/when it goes tits up, DH and i have got a big decision to make.

oh well.

I had some spotting around week 10... am now 33 wks pg with big healthy boy!

Good luck darling, fingers crossed for you x

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 07/12/2009 15:59

sunburn there is nothing they can do, only take away the uncertainty. Hopefully it will be good news and you will have no decisions to make.

Take it easy until then and put your feet up if you can. If you pass new blood then please call your MW straight away.

Make sure DH is giving you lots of TLC

x

Rindercella · 07/12/2009 16:03

I just want to give you a sunburn and wish you all the very best. I really do hope it is nothing to be worried about. Will be thinking of you x

ThisIsBloodyHardWork · 07/12/2009 16:03

Just to add my twopennorth - if you are feeling really desperate, it might be better to go earlier and get some reassurance. But you're right, there isn't anything they can do, and from my experience (see cramp and bleeding thread from today) they are likely to suggest waiting and seeing.

As I understand it, brown blood is less worrying than red (mine is red ) so try to keep positive, although I do see why you are so worried.

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 07/12/2009 16:11

Aw sweets, you sound so frantic in your posts

I know lots of people have b leeding and things go on to be fine, but I can understand with your history that you are really scared (I had two MCs between DS1 and DD and it's terrifying)

I would see if you can get your scan earlier; if for nothing else than to avoid having an extra day of worry.

I also know a couple of women who have had a haematoma and how worrying it was for them every time they saw blood.

and please tell your DH; worry shared being a worry halved and all that.

Sending positive vibes for you.

AntPants1 · 07/12/2009 16:36

I literally feel your fear from the way you have worded your posts. I am so sorry you are going through this.

You know whether it is best for you to wait it out or whether you need to get an earlier scan. I would want early scan- but that is me- my rationale would be that on the positive side it would mean one less day of worry- although there is also the risk you will get bad news earlier- only you know what is best for you.

Either way I am holding my breath for you. Please let us know how you get on. Am really really rooting for you.

All the very best

A

PS please do not ever blame yourself. To have put yourself through this again after 5 MC shows just how amazingly brave and determined you are. I lost a baby at 20 weeks last November- my only loss. I cannot imagine how brave you have been to pick yourself up 5 times and keep trying. I was a wreck when I started TTC again.

first1 · 07/12/2009 16:48

I'm afraid I have no real experience of this, but I just wanted to send my thoughts and prayers to you. Wishing you all the best. I cant imagine what you're going through but you're such a brave woman xxx

teletubby7777 · 07/12/2009 17:14

Here is another woman praying for you and sending you all the positive sticky vibes possible. xxxx

Purplebuns · 07/12/2009 17:25

Hi, just though I would say, my mum, bled quite heavily right through my little sisters pregnancy. She is now a strapping 9 year old.

I hope it all goes well for you, I am amazed at your courage, really, well done!

allthatjazz · 07/12/2009 17:38

Although I cant offer any words of wisdom You and thisisbloodyhardwork are in my thoughts and I really hope everything is ok. Any spotting in pg is obv. worrying but do call midwife they are paid to help and support you. My midwife is fab.

Sticky thoughts x

tinylion · 07/12/2009 17:42

Huge sticky thoughts...I've been following all your posts...and you sound really nice.

I bled from 7 to 10 weeks (brown blood occasional red) and it was nothing, just cervical erosion, very common. I'm now 17 weeks and everything is fine.

I'm praying for you right this minute...fingers crossed for you tats. xxxx

thinking of you

I had bleeds like periods at this stage of both pregnancies (in fact I didn't realise I was even pregnant and just thought I was having normal periods)

dd1 and dd2 are both tearing up the house right now

Let us know how you get on

RichardCranium · 07/12/2009 18:20

How you doing tats?

reservejudgement · 07/12/2009 18:22

I had brown discharge all the way through my entire first trimester with ds3. I didn't even tell dh most of the time as I knew he would be frantic with worry but I had to wear a pad all the time. At 14 weeks it just stopped. I did havve ds3 early but it was nothing to do with the early bleeding and he is now a healthy, bolshy five year old! Don't give up hope!

sunburntats · 07/12/2009 19:10

Thank you all so much for your lovely kind messages and thoughts.
It really has helped me.

Told dh when he got home, he gave me a huge cuddle and said that its probably something and nothing.
Bleeding has stopped tonight.

I have a wail on his shoulder and he made me egg n chips and i feel a bit less stressed now

As i said, i have a scan booked for Wed morning, i have rang in sick at work, im going to settle on the couch tomorrow, and just try to relax a bit.

Its so difficult and every single symptom is magnified 100% more for me, because of all of my lossess. I find it very difficult to think positive thoughts because it always ends badly for me.

Just the mere fact that i have got this far is actually a HUGE positive, as i have always lost between 6-13 weeks.

Just keep everything crossed for me.

sunburn glad to hear that you have calmed down a bit, I bled right through the 1st trimester of this PG, had MMC in May, so have been on tenterhooks all the way through....and I'm now 23+3 and finally believing that this is it

Good luck with your scan on Wednesday, what time have you got it......just so we can all send positive and sticky thoughts
