Private ultrasound scans - Scotland

Hi folks,

Anyone gone private for an early scan? you can't get an early reassurance scan in my area but there is a company - healthcarenow ltd in Edinburgh - that offer early scans from 7-11 weeks for £55.

Anyone been for something similar or know of another route?

I am also having HcG levels done next week but I would like the reassurance of an early scan since I m/c at 8.5 weeks (discovered at 11wks) last time.

banana - we didnt get offered the 20wk scan - paid for it and thats the 2nd £200 for it... ah well - i feel alot better after seeing the bean..

wieght - arghhh. GMM - only 2lbs - good on you! i think one boob laone has gained that! i have now put on 16lbs. really really hating that. all dreams of being size 8 are now long gone. its one of the hardest parts of pg for me.

all this chat of food - v hungry. mushroom rissotto for dinner i think.

Pains have developed a bit now more like period pains so hopefully thats some thing working on me!!Good luck Geordie you will love it!! xx

Liath, have been thinking about you, how're things?

I've just sneaked out of bed to have a go on MN. I've been on total bedrest since Tuesday as my hands and feet have all swollen up and my blood pressure is up. Only allowed out of bed to go to the loo!!

It's a bit frustrating as I feel fine otherwise, but I'm panicking that I'll end up in hospital with pre-eclampsia.

Looks like that's me off on mat leave now as I only had 2 weeks left at work anyway.

It's fluid on my ankles and wrists. They're like plasticine, if you press them with a finger the mark just stays there for ages.

Coupled with my blood pressure being up they need to keep an eye on me so in getting my bp taken every day. My GP freaked me out by calling to see how I was at 6 today.

Don't know if he's just being nice or patricularly concerned!

Yeah, we went over to Livvy last night..dp is now like a dog with 2 dicks... and is already deciding what position he is going to play for liverpool!!!!

No no news still having contractions but earable ones that are really irratic and come and go, so still a long way off i think!! Tried a few thing s to get it going but no luck so far!! Am off out a walk with 3 yr old dd on her scooter so hopefully that may move things along a bit, then when she's at nursery i'll be home scrubbing again!!
Geordie i soo feel for you, this is our 3rd (2 dds already), so when dh found out it was a boy, well he's already planning a trip to champions league final, wants me to take him to watch his daddy playing every saturday, and already has his "name" down for the rangers training school beside us, not that he has a name yet cos dh wants to call him after himself and i don't so we just dont speak about it!! Any way congrats again!! xx xx

I like the sound of the long handled razor - total nightmare shaving my legs , can only do it properly sitting in the bath
