Private ultrasound scans - Scotland

Hi folks,

Anyone gone private for an early scan? you can't get an early reassurance scan in my area but there is a company - healthcarenow ltd in Edinburgh - that offer early scans from 7-11 weeks for £55.

Anyone been for something similar or know of another route?

I am also having HcG levels done next week but I would like the reassurance of an early scan since I m/c at 8.5 weeks (discovered at 11wks) last time.

we ended up having a uick shot of the 4d for free. how freaky it was but very good.
hacked of this morning when i went to open the discs with the images - they were blank. rang teh hospital in a rage saying i had spent all this money and not to have any pics as they dont give print outs. i am now getting another scan on the 13th dec for free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone. WO-so happy for you. glad that the scan went all ok and you are expecting a little girl.. did you say you want a girl ? really happy for you. I suppose its good to have another scan for free..just to re-check everythings ok and good to see your little one again i am sure. I will have mine next wed..i think geordie will have her scan after me...i am sure everything will be ok for us both..

why dont we meet around 7.30 / 7.45 in a bar close to sartis on bath street?

what about st judes but then again- places re likely to be bunged on a friday night so close to xmas so maybe the bar at bewleys hotel might be better???

I'm gonna be in town earlier... as dp has a footie night out... so I could make 6.30-7?

Bewleys is probably a good place to meet then we could go to rust or the pig and butterfly or somewhere?

Still cant deciede whether to get the train or bring the car..

GMM- The Hamilton train does'nt go to Uddingston , it's the other side of the circle , so if you're getting the train , we'll just meet in town .Get the train , less hassle with parking I think .

I have mine on thursday night..am so so so excited!!! Got blood results back today too, they are low risk so touch wood everything seems to be ok!!

If the weather is crap then I am definately bringing the car!!!!

I'm up at viewpark too... had appoint 4 weeks ago, havent got another one til feb!!!! Got 20 week scan tomorrow though!!!

I'm 18 weeks now and had a detailed scan, the wee thing was drinking amniotic fluid and could see little bubbles, and I get a regular thump or thumps! Busting out of clothes now, better do some shopping!

I have another appointment at Viewpark with Consultant - who is your MW there? How are you finding it - cant say I'm that impressed

Midwife is Cathy Murphy although I dont think I have actualy seen her... no not impressed with Viewpark either... more of a drop in centre for smack heads than maternity centre... I have to make an appoinment at the doctors (lincluden) for january some time. Did you have to pay for your scan? Ours is private over in Livingston.

We'll have to meet up soon, you are only a week behind me!!

Yes same one, well I dont want to say to comment too much over the web and yes, apparently I've to make Lincluden appt too - (I really like my doc in there, she's fab - she told me to have a proper coffee and eat choc if I felt wiped out, so down to earth).

Yes I agree with you totally about Viewpark - I think I'll go in with riot gear on next time - totally confused with all these classes supposed to go to, at Bellshill or Wishaw I dunno, I'll just read a book - I think Wishaw would be better since we are booked in there.

Sorry didnt answer about my scan - because of my medical history I got detailed scan, all ok and piece of mind - (wont tell you the sex tho) I dont care really - dont like blue or pink!!!

Is your doctor at linlucden Dr Shulz? I have her, and she has really put my mind at ease over the past few months, I love her honesty, and the fact that, like you said she doesnt expect you to be holier than thou!!!

Yes Doc Shulz, she's great, no messing!! To be honest I would rather be seeing her all the time!

Maybe we could seccond her to deliver our babies??

Yeah can you imagine, straight after she'd be saying yeah of course you can neck that bottle of champagne!! !!
