10+3 today and had my booking in appt with the midwife today and came away with so many info packs, I was buckling under the weight! the appt was well over an hour so we covered a lot..Im off to see the consultant tomorrow and they are going to start me on clexane at 12 weeks as I had a PE after dd2. I was even given my Bounty freebie pack today

Felt a bit woozy whilst I was there so she had to fetch me a glass of water..have just eaten 4 iced buns...Im now craving sweet stuff.

Got my scan on 30th October, Ill be one day of 13 weeks

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 13/10/2009 18:39

Memory- I was 1 day off 13 weeks on my scan (as I was further than I thought) and it was really clear. Lovely scan. Then at the 20 week scan she was sort of chewing and licking her lips bless her. I haven't read the pregnancy stuff I got at booking appt , is it important stuff?

I totally missed that hoops and amy are due same day! How fab is that!! You are like birthing sisters haha. Congrats hoops on the nephew.

Has anyone thought of any names?

I know I've had the kids close together but I didn't expect this: I've started peeing a little when I sneeze!! I thought that sort of dilema was reserved for grandmas. Baby is on bladder all the time and I don't have the best pelvic floor after DS. Little worried it might be a sign that it's starting to get like chucking a sausage in a bin bag

memorylapse · 13/10/2009 20:37

Totally..most of the stuff looks like Breastfeeding leaflets etc...then theres the Bounty pregnancy book and the whopping great purple pregnancy and birth book..it would take me a year to read that
The 20 week scan is lovely..we had a private one with dd at around that time and still have it on video

memorylapse · 14/10/2009 12:47

just sifted through my info pack..theres also the NICE guidelines on ante natal care etc.

Been to see the consultant..and had my dating scan!..Im 11 weeks and 1 day, so EDD is 4th May.Baby was doing somersaults!
consultant and sonographer not at all worried about the clot as it seems to be getting longer suggesting the pregnancy is actually squeezing it out..Consultant said they only worry if the clot is bigger than the baby and has told me to try not to worry

Jacanne · 14/10/2009 21:12

Memory - that sounds like good news - will continue to keep everything crossed that it stays good news! Lol, my edd is 3rd May so we are close together.

I think I will hold off adding my info until I have had my 12 week scan as it would feel like tempting fate otherwise.

I am smiling for you Memory!

memorylapse · 14/10/2009 22:43

Jacanne..Im still not sure whether or not to add my info..but that was technically my 12 week scan..wont get another..tbh I feel like Id be tempting fate getting excited before giving birth! fingers crossed for your scan

amyboo · 15/10/2009 08:22

That's great news memory! Glad that they seem to not be worried about the clot. I know what you mean about tempting fate though. I'm still worried I'm imagining it all and I'm nearly 16 weeks.... I'm not sure I'll be able to relax until I can feel the baby moving around.

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 16/10/2009 19:07

Good one memory things are looking up see what a bit of positive thinking can do sounds very hopeful to me.

My DS was due beginning of May 08. Lovely time to have a baby, it's just getting warm etc. However, the labour ward was packed out, everyone seems to have May babies

memorylapse · 16/10/2009 20:18

Totally..yep May is obviously a very busy time for babies..you should see how many we have on the May thread!

Im still v anxious as the clot is still there and I just hope that it doesnt get bigger..wish I could fast forward a few weeks!

bluesnowfalcon · 17/10/2009 08:11

Hi all I'm all new to this - I got a BFP on Wednesday but this is my first so a bit nervous about it all! Excited and nervous and the same time it's weird

Hope you don't mind me hanging around for a bit?

Got first doctors appointment on Thurs and don't know what to expect at all - any ideas would be greatfully recieved!

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 17/10/2009 15:02

Hi Blue Is this your first? My first doctors appointment was just a bit 'oh, well done, I'll book you in with a consultant and a midwife'. That was it really. First midwife appt was just getting lots of free coupons and books. Booking appt (where they come to your house at 6 weekish) and the scan at 12 weekish makes everything real though Do you have an idea of your due date? Congratulations

Memory- I thought Aug/Sept would be the busiest time as people get a little too tipsy and snuggly at xmas and along comes a BFP But I think May is probably the busy period.. perhaps hot weather does something to people

memorylapse · 17/10/2009 16:06

Welcome Bluesnowfalcon

Im 11+4 today and feeling horribly sick...didnt get up until 2pm
Funnily enough..Im an august baby

bluesnowfalcon · 17/10/2009 18:29

memory what does 11+4 mean? I prob should know but I don't!

memorylapse · 17/10/2009 18:48

bluesnowfalcon-11+4 means Im eleven weeks 4 days

bluesnowfalcon · 17/10/2009 20:04

OK thats obvious now! thanks memory

bluesnowfalcon · 19/10/2009 06:55

Everyone survived the weekend beans intact? I am feeling absolutely normal apart from the fact that I now prefer tea black and that everything I eat seems to repeat on me. Hows everyone else?

memorylapse · 19/10/2009 22:16

Bluesnowfalcon.hope you had a good weekend
.I have hyperemesis and have had a weepy day today..im exhausted from all the puking...am back on the cyclizine tablets today in desperation.
12 weeks tomorrow and can definitely feel a little bump which is the top of my womb..im now 12n pounds lighter than I was when I become pregnant

bluesnowfalcon · 20/10/2009 06:49

memorylapse sorry to hear you are not very good at the mo I'm only 5 weeks 5 days I think so not mcuh going on with me yet. Having trouble stomaching milk in the mornings but then maybe that's cos it is way to early!

Hope you feel better today

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 21/10/2009 08:05

Hi Memory. Poor you. What a nightmare. Body gives to baby before you so don't worry about losing weight. I however have put on a ridiculous amount of weight yet again Hope the tablets help sweet.

Blue- ooo the aversions have started It will only get worse until 12 weeks then suddenly you'll be so ravenous people will look like walking hot dogs.

I'm struggling to walk and my pelvis is quite obviously seperating. I'm very worried as I'm only 22 weeks and need to work until 37 as I'm hourly paid so I don't get paid if I go on the sick and the maternity package is naff. I'm in agony at mo, can't get up out of chairs or off the bed and it takes me hours just to walk to the car. Anyone been through this before? What can I do? My groins crunch if I move and my back and legs just give out when they feel like it Will all be worth it in the end.

amyboo · 21/10/2009 09:09

Sorry to hear that you're suffering memory - it must be horrible to be sick like that. Still, you're nearly past the worst hopefully. Fingers crossed it all gets better for you soon.

totally - that sounds sooooo painful! Poor you Can the doctors not give you anything to help?

Big hello to bluesnow - welcome to our little thread. Hope you're getting on OK and not finding the counting down days too annoying. Will you get an early scan?

I've just had another gynae appointment this morning. Am now 16+5 and everything's still going well. I saw the baby's heartbeat with the doppler this morning. Apparently my blood tests for Down's combined with the nuchal result put me at low risk, which is great. Next scan is in 5 weeks' time at the maternity hospital with a specialist ultrasound person. It's all finally starting to feel real, as I got my forms to reserve my room at the hospital today as well! Maybe I might finally start to relax....

bluesnowfalcon · 21/10/2009 11:52

amyboo no I won't get an early scan as far as I know cos only first bump! Got first drs app morra after school so we'll see x

memorylapse · 21/10/2009 13:04

Totally..sounds like spd..I had this with my last two pregs..you need to be referred to see a physio, can you have a word with your midwife?...I was in agony with spd with DD2, I couldnt even turn over in bed.

amyboo..glad everything is going ok..not long now till 20 weeks and you will be half way there

still feeling sick..got up this morning and threw up..I look like a ghost this morning!

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 21/10/2009 19:44

I've been referred to the physio lady 3 times now. Hope she gets me in soon I need a belt and crutches so I can get on with my life and work. I'm at the same stage- DH helps me to turn in bed but my whole pelvis crunches. It's nasty.

We are all doing so well From this point on, I want to enjoy things. I'm looking forward to a big fat xmas

Amy- very good news, how come you have to reserve a room? We don't do that here. I'm supposed to be having a homebirth anyway but I don't know if they'll let me when my SPD is this bad? Will I have to have a c section?

memorylapse · 21/10/2009 21:18

Totally..can you chase up the referal?
When I had SPD with ds2, they put my legs up in stirrups whilst I was giving birth which apparently is a big no no..as a result I was in agony for months after the birth
With dd2, it was on my notes that I musnt have my legs in stirrups..so dont see why you couldnt have a homebirth

amyboo · 22/10/2009 08:18

Sounds so nasty totally - hope you get that referral soon. Stupid slow NHS.

I'm in Belgium (Brussels), hence why I have to reserve a room. The healthcare system is quite different here. You see a gynae for the duration of your pregnancy, and a Kinestherapeute (physio) for antenatal stuff. Your gynae is then the person who comes to the hospital and delivers your baby, and the Kiné can come as well if you want them there. You have to therefore give birth in the hospital to which your gynae is affiliated. You can get single rooms covered on a lot of insurance, so in order to ensure that you get what you want, you have to do a kind of "pre" reservation... It's all very efficient, and they look after you nicely.
