Tee B cries far more with me than with daddy. Perhaps they just know from where the pocket money comes?

Tabitha8 · 13/08/2009 09:39

That reads as TB, doesn't it?

dawntigga · 13/08/2009 09:47

Waves good morning to all equilibrium restored.

MuchBetterMoodTiggaxx

Tabitha8 · 13/08/2009 09:51

Hello Tigga. Great to hear all is well. A good cry usually sorts me out. I can't offer you cake, but how about a dark choc Kit-Kat?

jeanjeannie · 13/08/2009 09:55

HAhahaha - yep, jw the meter probably ran out! Have fun in N Wales, at least you're getting out. I do love N Wales...but I'm a triffle odd like that.

Off to a pirates and princesses party. Hope they're doing lunch I've got a lazy day today and am quite happy to stuff the girls' faces with sausage rolls and badly iced cakes.

ermintrude13 · 13/08/2009 10:04

Morning all, I thought it was only me that couldn't get online but clearly not.

JJ the lions in Market Square were unadorned - I shall have to sort that out next time we go

JW I too love N Wales. All that rain makes it lush. Remember, my summer holiday this year will be in Scotland, so I must be a bit of a rain-seeker.

HV came for weights and measures - Arthur is 12lb 1oz which makes him 75th centile for weight and head circumference but he's 98th for height - another tall skinny boy in the making I reckon. Poor DD was always 50th for height and 75th for weight - gets it from me

Must go to Timpsons to get keys cut so neighbours can feed cats when we go. Might even need a bit of suncream

Tee2072 · 13/08/2009 10:11

And...we're back!

And I was so enjoying the mini-MN 40+ discussion on my Facebook feed.

A had a decent night, so far as I know, since DH was up with him and I was asleep in spare room. Love that spare room of ours!

Trying to get motivated to go see the tall ships today. Well, they are here until Sunday...

dawn good cry always sorts me out.

erm I am definitely a rain seeker. I hate the sun.

JJ enjoy your party!

JW So, what is there to do in N Wales? I've never even been close to Wales...well, except when watching Torchwood...

mrsboogie · 13/08/2009 10:17

morning all

missed the blackout as was busy trying to get fancy organic baby porridge into D. One spoonful. Then spoon got slapped out of my hand like for all other types of baby cereal.

He was up twice in the night for feeds ladies at 1.30 and 5am. This fella will be 1 in a couple of weeks!! - it was like being back at the newborn stage. Again. Am shattered so thank god I had booked a day off before the latest illness set in.

Hope you all enjoy your jaunts out - we will walk into town later as it is lovely here.

heron22 · 13/08/2009 10:40

morning all!
tigga good to hear ur feeling better
i get like that too, good days and bad days.

i am thinking today that i dont know what to do. i would not consider working full time because i want to be here for my kids. but being a full time mum is really boring too!

dont know what the solution is. i was working part time before DS2 was born and i found that i was doing full time amount of work in 3 days!

i am just craving for adult conversation that does not involve babies and children!

heron22 · 13/08/2009 10:44

mrsb ah hugs to you. i really dont know how you cope with all that night wakings. ur a star!

BonzoDoodah · 13/08/2009 12:36

Glad you're feeling better tigga - I'm sure we all get grim days.
MrsB urrrg ... with you on the wakings but I'm not working and mine is only 3 weeks old! baby G was awake 1am, 4-5:30 am and 7:30 am Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Thank goodness M is in nursery today.

Oooh erm you're off to the festival this weekend aren't you. Have fun! Wave to my FIL as you pass on the journey as he comes down to join our current au pair (MIL).

heron22 · 13/08/2009 15:11

argggh! LO did not nap this morning and lunch time. he was just wide awake. i gave him pureed peppers with baby rice - he loved it! and at 2pm, he finally settled down for a sleep. after doing housework! i settled myself with DS1 to watch some telly, and then i thought what the hell, lets have some crisps! so i asked him to go get them from the kitchen. off he went. stomp stomp and then opened the door and crash bang the cupboard door and before you can say boo, LO was screaming his head off. god, i got so so mad but managed to not scream at DS1. instead i gave him a quiet talking to.

he starts school on 9th sept. counting down the days. this summer is just going on and on and on, never ending.

Tee2072 · 13/08/2009 17:35

Hi all

Not been around because A wouldn't settle all day. He finally fell asleep in my arms around 12:30 and I just let him sit there while I watched episodes of West Wing on DVD!

Hope everyone had a better day then I did!

dawntigga · 13/08/2009 17:41

dp has truly annoyed me now. Well not so much him more attitudes in this country. We have some pictures of Sam in the bath with him. Innocent having fun with the floaty ducks kind of pictures and he wants to shred them!!!!!!! Truly the paranoia in this country regarding children is ridiculous, not that you shouldn't be vigilant but ffs worrying as a dad about pictures like that

VeryAnnoyedMrsAngryMomentOverTiggaxx

heron22 · 13/08/2009 18:07

hi all what a day! weather turned out to be lovely. so went to park with DS1 where he met up with some friends he has not seen in awhile. so was at park till half 5. and LO was just so tired, he fell asleep in his buggy. of course, now he is overtired and would not feed and just crying. poor thing. sounds like he will have to cry until he settles down then hopefully he will take his feed.

it is hard to juggle wants and needs of 2 kids! esp when there is 5 yr age gap between them!

tee hope watching west wing made ur day better

tigga gaawd, the paranoia is ridiculous i agree. we got pictures of DS1 in bath with DH or DS1 with me. would not think of shredding them!

jeanjeannie · 13/08/2009 18:11

We're back from the party - argghhhhh, Jim Lad - I was a pirate there...could you tell?

tigga bloomin 'eck - that's a bit much! But for what it's worth I have a friend in my NCT group who had all her bath pics retuned from Boots with stickers over it saying that they were being 'warned' because her 8mth old was in the bath BONKERS! Plus, today at the party, no one was allowed to bring cameras or take pics on their phones We've had to sign all sorts of disclaimers if we want pics of Iris at pre-school. MAD, MAD......joinstiggainsmallrantmoment!

tee ah - the joys of parenting. That's what I find knackering with two - you just don't get a break....ever,,,,,ever.....WHAH!

heron I feel your pain when a LO wakes because of a noise - the frustration.

mrsB hope your day was nice - and your night is going to be a better one.

duchesse and signs yet???

WOnder if JW had a nice time across the border....with 'The Welsh'?

Off to check the apple and freshly foraged blackberry crumble....dons kitchen goddess hat and flips off

Tee2072 · 13/08/2009 18:37

tigga that's ridiculous. And the no pics thing, JJ? Also ridiculous.

People should look at the facts rather than the scaremongering. This is why I am a faithful reader of Free Range Kids and am hoping to start a Free Range Movement here in Belfast as Adam gets older.

heron22 · 13/08/2009 18:46

tee thanks for the link. will look at it now.

ermintrude13 · 13/08/2009 19:02

Dawntigga that's sad that your DH fears a witchhunt. Half the photos of me as a child were with at least 2 of my siblings in the bath - all we seemed to do was have baths or stand on top of mountains wearing headscarves and odd hand-me-downs . But if Boots had stickered my pics like your friend JJ, I'd have had Words. How horrible.

Glad the pirate day went well, me hearty - that book JW recommended a while ago would doubtless have been indispensable.

Heron I have done full-time work in 4 days a week which I didn't mind because I loved the job and it meant I could spend a day with DD and so could DH so it was just 3 days in nursery. But now I 'work' - such as it is - during school hours and it's the best of every world. Hoping I'll be able to send Arthur to nursery down the road for a few mornings a week when he's around 6 months, to get a bit of grown-up life back. I couldn't be a full time SAHM without going mad.

mrsb you had a snooze yet? . And Tee, sorry you're also sleep-deprived.

Bonzo yup, off to the festival on Monday, really looking forward to our week

mrsboogie · 13/08/2009 20:33

ach no snoozes for me - I'm used to this knackeredness malarky. Hardcore I am .

I can't believe that crap about the photos in Boots and it is v sad that tiggas DP feels like that. We were in the park the other day - at the swings with DP and D and a 6 yr old came up and asked DP to lift her hulking great toddler cousin into a swing. I knew he'd be thinking "oh shit what if the mum comes up screaming at me" and he was. It is awful for men these days.

Also had similar a while back when me and 3 male colleagues were out for a bike ride. We happened upon a toddler waltzing down the road on his own about 7pm in the evening. The 3 men stood well back looking worried and I had had to take the wee boy by the hand and get him to lead me to his house where his dad was just emerging. Fucker didn't even say thanks to me.

tee I love the free range idea - not entirely sure if Belfast is ready for it just yet...

Tee2072 · 13/08/2009 20:36

I don't think so either mrsb. Heck, I get and when I do baby wearing!!

dawntigga · 13/08/2009 20:54

Thanks guys

Tee am loving the link thanks for that!

Evenin' all.

We're back. Just got LO's sorted out; fed, bathed and into bed. I'm ready to follow them.

Weather was fab and the children enjoyed the sunshine and a change of scenery. DSS loved it so much that he's asked if he can join SiL from Sunday until Tuesday so he's off there this weekend

You lot have been busy!

DH was up with K around 4am this morning and I got up with her around 6.30am. mrsb you're one feed in front of me

I can believe the stupidness of the Boots photo anecdote. I too had to sign a disclaimer at play group (under 1's) re having pics taken. Absolutely bonkers.

Gonna go and put feet up as v tired and must get some rest before night shift starts.

JJ no time to get you a brick of bara brith but will pick up some on Sunday

FloriaTosca · 14/08/2009 07:33

G'd mornin'
5.40am is not a civilised time of day... especially when the little darling didnt go down until 9.30pm and had me up for a feed at 3.10...
...caused a row between Dh and I......apparently the rearing of our son is a dictatorship ruled by me and he has no input...this after he demanded I leave A to scream until 7.00 ... the situation has occurred because Dh has a 35mile journey to work every morning in very heavy motorway traffic and needs his wits about him (as he was at pains to point out at 6am)... I actually have been getting up the moment A has been stirring precisely so Dh hasnt been disturbed!!![angry
]A has been waking 5-10 mins earlier every day for a couple of weeks now. I should have stopped going in at the first stirring a while ago I know but I made the mistake of hoping he would settle himself again this morning and hence DHs demand... but to expect a 22month old to accept 75mins of being ignored in one go is ridiculous ....

off to get a cuppa and cool down...

bbl with a more pleasant tone...

johnworf · 14/08/2009 08:02

Morning ladies.

floria it's a hard balancing act isn't it? If I was to use a metaphor it would have to be 'between the devil and the deep blue sea'. We've all been there and some of us are stuck there on a permanent basis.

Funnily enough, the word 'dictatorship' has also appeared at Worf Towers this week. Said by DH with me expressly in mind. I see it like this.........while the men folk work and we're left in charge of their offspring, they quite happily leave us to make all of the decisions and hardly ever question them. However, there are a handful of occasions when they are around and LO isn't actually in bed, when they want to have their say. It's usually based on nothing factual, theoretical or practical. No. The main reasoning behind any opinions they spout is to do with how baby's behaviour is affecting them.

You are not alone dear. Praps me and you could forge an alliance of a combined dictatorship? It may not work as by day 2 one of us will overthrow the other, such is the nature of the beast

Thankfully K gave us some relief last night and slept through until 7am. Pitstop feed and change at 7am then she's gone back down to sleep. Can only think it was the sea air that did it I feel half human today.
