Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mrsboogie · 28/08/2009 14:51

indeed where art thou jw?? hope all is well.

well, painting done and house half tidy D still at his GPs but must get him back soon.

He woke up last night with a horrendous temperature; boiling hot and skin bright red all over. Never seen anything like it.

Have ordered some fab stuff from mini Boden (payday and all that )

have you really not bought foundaton in al that time jj? gawd I can't go outside the door without it on...go through gallons of the stuff

Tee2072 · 28/08/2009 15:32

Back from visiting my office. I was there 2 hours and was reminded of every reason why I was looking for a new job before I got pregnant. Does not bode well for my going back, does it?

Yes, where is JW?

mrsb that doesn't sound good. Is he feeling better now?

JJ I last bought foundation...probably last November? And probably won't buy it again until/if I decide to go back to work. I just don't wear make up if I'm not going out or going to work!!

johnworf · 28/08/2009 15:46

Wanders in nonchalently with a tooth pick hanging from one corner of her mouth.....

Been out with DS#2 to buy him winter coat for uni, jumpers and some new fangled trendy bag for his paperwork. It's like sending them back to school in their new uniform but you need a second mortgage to buy the stuff they need.

mrsb Mini Boden is peanuts compared to what these big uns want. Btw, couldn't see what was on that link. Just says empty shopping bag. Please pearoast and let us look on in

Weather is pants here and I got soaked while out with DS#2 inbetween being boiled alive by intermittent sunshine.

No plans for BH weekend apart from eating chocolate and doing less....neither will come to fruitition unless I work harder to stock up on chocolate (didn't put any on the list this week so I wouldn't be tempted. Ever the optimist eh?)

tee glad the outting went well and served to remind you to start looking for new job in a few months time

JJ I try not to wear make up unless I'm going somewhere nice or trying to impress. Plays havoc on my skin even though it cost me £££. Talking of which, I've bought the Simple moisturiser which according to research is better than your dear do face cream de la mer. £2 you can't grumble. Don't SpaceNK go under another name or have another brand?

jeanjeannie · 28/08/2009 16:09

Oh I'm cock-a-hoop...MIL has asked if she can have the girls until Sunday afternoon...can she?! RESULT! Oh...I can smell the champagne and vodka already! I think I could get to like this wedding malarky - let's hope the weather holds.

Not worn foundation for SO long - never use it unless I go out and as I've got a few 'dos' on the horizon I thought it about time. I'm addicted to Nars make-up which I think you can only get from SpaceNK. It's actually not as £$ some stuff from Lancome etc....but it suits my colouring - it isn't yellow-based. So hard to get the right tone for pinky/red pale skin avec brown freckles! Or are they liver spots at my age

mrsB yes, re-post link - must see what you've got! Don't forget the MN discount!

tee ah - how reassuring to know you're not missing the place. I bet A was the star turn!

Right - off to placate a very snotty Iris who is languishly like a Victorian lady in need of smelling salts on the sofa...

jeanjeannie · 28/08/2009 16:10

languishing even

johnworf · 28/08/2009 16:12

JJ the brand I was racking my brains for was Freeze 24/7 which we sell

johnworf · 28/08/2009 16:15

I bet you'll be deliberating all night your MiL having the girls until Sunday won't you?

...or did you snatch her hand off with a (too) quick 'YES'!?

jeanjeannie · 28/08/2009 16:28

Snatched her hand off I did I almost did a little clap!!!

Ah - Freeze 24/7 I has heard of that!

Poor Iris. In the time it's taken me to go away and tend to her and come back she has drenched an entire muslin in snot.

mrsboogie · 28/08/2009 16:37

rivers of snot here too . sigh....

never heard of freeze 24/7 but what you say about the nars stuff is interesting as I have the same problem with foundations turning yellow on my pale skin. Must give it a go - which one did you get jj?

the stuff I got was
this
and this
and
these
and these

got to deal with whinging back in a mo

Tee2072 · 28/08/2009 17:17

Adorable stuff mrsb!

jeanjeannie · 28/08/2009 17:52

mrsB they're gorgeous! Have to say I fancy the owl one for my mate's soon-to-be-hatched little boy.

I use Nars (mont blanc) and it's good for pale skin as it doesn't leave you looking ashen - or jaundiced!

I see from the duchesse thread that her DD is off cpap and she got chance for a cuddle and that she may (or may not) be called Mathilda

johnworf · 28/08/2009 19:52

mrsb that stuff is adorable. Really cute.

Must look at duchesse's thread to see the story. Why was baby on CPAP? Obviously has breathing problems but just wondering why.

I love the Clinique I've got. Suits my combination skin

mrsboogie · 28/08/2009 20:03

oooh just read duchesse's birth story eeeek

thank god it went ok in the end sounds like a good job the HB didn't happen.

never heard the term postmature baby before

johnworf · 28/08/2009 20:11

Isn't post mature where babies fingers and toes are prune-like (think lying in the bath for too long) cos they're overbaked?

Just read her story too. Sounds like CS was right way to go. Glad all ended well. Think I read baby is off CPAP now - when they're big ones they don't like it and can pull it off. Pleased that they're both doing well.

FloriaTosca · 28/08/2009 20:27

MrsB lurve the Boden stuff...esp those tartan baggies! I'm tempted to get some for A except the largest size should be too small for him (though the very slow rate my little mite is growing they might still fit when he is 3)

8.25 and A still not in bed ...this is apparently the price we pay for one half decent night.

Tee2072 · 28/08/2009 20:32

JW that's what A did with his CPAP. Pulled it right off so they put him O2 atmo instead.

Does someone have the direct link to her thread?

johnworf · 28/08/2009 20:37

It's here tee

K couldn't pull hers off thankfully. Too little

jeanjeannie · 28/08/2009 20:42

I'm in a curry stuper It's my own fault...no one forced me but I should have stopped at least 20 mouthfuls before I did.

Early night I think as i reckon there will be much shouting throughout the night. Poor Iris fell asleep on me this evening - took her up to bed and she was shaking, so hot that she'd gone cold. Hopefully she'll have sweated it out by the morning.

Now having shoe crisis. Old, but lovely pale fip-flop style, heeled sandals or the new aubergine ones? Think that is a job for the morning....along with dying my very white eyebrows. Oh I had them threaded the other day - amazing and cheap too.

johnworf · 28/08/2009 20:54

Awww hot Iris gets over her lurgy. Poor thing.

I'm interested that you've had your eyebrows threaded as I've looked at it but not known anyone to recommend it. Are you impressed with it?

Still not had evening meal yet. Waiting for DH to bring me something. I'm on strike from the kitchen. Oh dear, K had a happy meal tonight. She was like Henry the 8th with it all. Guzzling milk shake like it was a drug, inbetween making evil stares at anyone who went near to her chips. I am not sure what it in that stuff but I'm sure it cannot be legal. I feel bad that it is the only food she properly wolfs down too. But as consultant said, she's petite so she can have as much full fat, calorie laden food as she wants I fear I'm on a slippery slope....

Tee2072 · 28/08/2009 20:57

JJ does threading hurt more or less than waxing? Not that I've been able to find anyone who can thread here in Belfast. My eyebrows could certainly use some help!

JW I hope it was chocolate this time .

A is down for the night. Dare I hope for 4am? Or even 6?

johnworf · 28/08/2009 21:16

No tee. It was strawberry again! DH only knows one flavour. His brain does not compute anything other than strawberry once he gets to the drive through window

Tee2072 · 28/08/2009 21:20

Well, I guess to Daddy that means she's getting some fruit. Right?

jeanjeannie · 28/08/2009 21:22

LOL@ K's impression of Henry 8th Oh, don't feel bad - I'm so over feeling bad about that now....Iris loves the stuff and so does Verity. OK, so we've only ever had three but it's like cat nip - drives them wild. And, to be fair it really has kick-started Iris into eating chicken. I think that's a good thing in this meat-eating household, obviously not so good if you're veggie!

Had the threading done in House of Fraser..it's a new thing called 'The Brow Bar'. Basically it's a couple of chairs and you stop by and have it done if they're free and you have time. Verity fell asleep and I decided it was easier to go for it there and then rather than making a special trip out for it. All over in about 8 mins and as good as painless. It gives a stunning line

DP is with Iris - she woke up howling, won't have calpol and is just calming down now. Poor lamb.

mrsboogie · 28/08/2009 21:40

D still up. Been sat on my knee for 2 hrs. Unheard of. Drooling going through 2 bibs and a cloth. He is actually spitting out mouthfuls of it. DP reckons this cold is from the teething - makes no sense but he is probably right. D is v hot too and his eyes are watering. There'll be no early bed here .

jw I would be glad to see D eating anything - he hasn't eaten since yesterday. Once K gets an appetite you will be able to slip other stuff in as well.

jj wear the comfiest ones! I have very white eyebrows too

dawntigga · 28/08/2009 21:59

Guys, I think I may have found my market having had a frustrated days shopping today.

How much do you think people would pay for small people clothing in a nice colour (not pastel blue or pink). No apliques or anything like that. Just good, sturdy and well made clothing like t-shirts?
