Tee2072 · 28/08/2009 22:03

Well, dawntigga, I will only pay £5 for a plain t-shirt for myself (I wait until M&S has their fairtrade cotton shirts on special and stock up) so I certainly wouldn't pay more than that for one for A!!

mrsboogie · 28/08/2009 22:11

people will pay loads dawn if they like it

johnworf · 29/08/2009 07:43

Morning ladies. Groundhog day here and same old, same old; wake at 4am etc etc. She grizzled going down last night and had teething granules at teatime plus calpol at bedtime. Her two big front teeth are properly through now and I think they're paining her You can actually see half of one big one through so she looks like something off the Jeremy Kyle show

tee I buy those very same tshirts from M&S too. And I get the long sleeved ones. Wardrobe is full of them.

JJ I hope you enjoy your time off for good behaviour wedding today. Am v that you're over the wall again! And all night too!! Go easy on the champagne cocktails. You're a novice lush now

I am trying to think of something we can do with the LO's today but the weather looks so crap I think it's a futile exercise. I've even put the central heating on this morning for an hour as there's a definite nip in the air.

johnworf · 29/08/2009 07:45

mrsb meant to say, that really is hardcore teething that D is going through. They say bonjela is good but I can't find my tube to recommend it. Shall buy some more today (or ye olde Anbesol if it's still around).

Hope that he's over the worst today. AND you've got guests coming to stay. Always the way eh?

jeanjeannie · 29/08/2009 07:55

stumbles in Not sure we slept much last night - poor Iris was howling and sweating. But, at 6.45 this morning she was singing and now looks very perky!

dawntigga I think theres a definate market for good PLAIN basics for LOs. Nice colours - no spots/stipes/cute pics/logo etc. I know I'd pay a bit extra because I'd use them more. Get that stitcher out girl

jw bless K and her funny looking front teeth!

mrsB I do think teething kicks off all sorts of weird symptoms/bodily functions. Hope he had an OK night.

Operation 'getting ready' shall commence. Eyebrows first. De-fuzz and hair mask (free from Marie Claire!)Then Ped-egg the feet and toe painting. Eh Voila! the canvas should be ready

ermintrude13 · 29/08/2009 11:36

JJ Glad to hear Iris is better. I had a boyfriend who believed in sweating out a cold. All very well for him but not so great for anyone else in the bed . How lovely to have a pampering day . Mind you, I'm having my hair cut and highlights done this afternoon and DD is coming for her cut - leaving daddy with the boys and bottle of EBM .

JW It's miserable here too, so haircut is the only plan for the day, although DH will go out and play 5-a-side footie come rain or shine. Seems like a scones for tea day to me.

The boy slept 9.30 til 5, then 5.30 til 9.30 . I feel almost refreshed. Hope all those teeny babies and mummies are doing well and that everyone has a fun/relaxing (delete as appropriate) weekend.

mrsboogie · 29/08/2009 12:44

blimey ermintrude that's not bad going at all.Good boy Mr A.

We had an ok night but it has been wails and snots since dawn. Fook me but he is in terrible form. I have Calgel jw but there is no chance of getting anything into his mouth. You should see the palaver to get some calpol down him - I have no idea whether or where any new teeth have appeared as he would have a full on tantrum if you tried to take a look.

He is having a nap at the moment - DP had to stroke him to sleep.

So I'd best get on with the housework and cooking for guests while I can.

jj have a lovely day!!

/counts the remaining hours until bedtime...

mrsboogie · 29/08/2009 13:06

oh just saw the very sad news about trinityrhino's husband being killed in a car crash. Don't know if any of you have come across her on other boards. terribly sad.

Tee2072 · 29/08/2009 13:06

Hello gang.

Had my eye examine today. No change in 'script, but bought a new pair anyway. Thanks to my lovely difficult 'script, have to order the lenses from Zeiss in Germany. So much for ready in about an hour!!

erm My A was up at 2:30 and then 5:30.

Have a fab time JJ and enjoy the lack of LOs!

Weather is lovely today. Had a nice walk around city centre. Now I'm putting DH in charge and going for a kip!

johnworf · 29/08/2009 14:01

ermintrude I also believe in sweating a cold out (for myself). It has always worked for me in the past....but yeah, you do stink

mrsb awful that you can't even give him some pain relief..or rather, he won't let you. Does he do that hand batting away that K does a lot of? She loves calpol...as soon as she sees the bottle her mouth is open, ready and waiting. I hope little D gets these teeth through soon.

I have never come across trinityrhino but news like that is very sad.

tee what they putting in your glasses...leftover bits of glass from the hubble?

It's been throwing it down here today and I've done nowt this morning apart from allay potential accidents. K pulled the standard lamp over which I caught. Then went walking on her own with the shopping trolley. She actually did ok with that........on the carpet. It was when she got to the nice slippery wooden floor that she sprawled out. I feel like wrapping her in bubble wrap at the mo as she's banging her head all the time. I guess it's another phase. JJ you won't read this as you'll be having drinks, canapes and conversations with grown ups. Prorably wearing a nice frock and make up.........I just wanted to tell you that I hate you!

BonzoDoodah · 29/08/2009 15:17

was going to say "morning all" as that's what it feels like but bugger me it's 3pm! Had a super day yesterday - new bra from Bravissimo and bloody hell I've got boobs and they're up on my chest not down near my waist!!! Woo Hoo! Plus had a fab curry for lunch.
Wonderful day was slightly marred by our M's evening performance ...
darling child was eating her dinner ... I was feeding Baby G and hubby was cooking my dinner. DH looked round to find M with her finger up her nose up to the second knuckle ... she looked at him and said "my put sweetcorn up my nose" AAAAAAARRRG!
We looked up her nose but couldn't see anything - but she had pushed her finger all the way up so it could be anywhere (if it was there at all) ... So after a phone call to NHS Direct we had to ALL pack up and off went to A&E. All had to go as one had to sit in the back of the car squashed between two cars seats to stop her shoving her finger up her nose further and to try and stop her snorting and sniffing it up as she seemed to be trying to. At A&E after a not too long wiat (After work and before Friday night Pub-rush) we performed an odd removal technique - I kissed her with my finger over the other nostril - and blew ... and the sweetcorn popped out! Hurrah! So she WAS telling the truth. Little swine.

I see Duchesse may be naming her daughter Matilda ... well all I can say is beware ... the name means "strong in Battle" and if she's anything like mine she'll have trouble on her hands. I'm sure that makes 3 Matildas on this thread - someone else has an M as well is it you jj or Iris or erm? thick brain can't remember.

Oh and when cleaning DD's teeth last night I noticed she had a second set of molars at the top! When did they arrive? Bad mum didn't notice her teething two blinking great big molars!!

jj envious of your night away from the sprogs!

MrsB sorry bubs is sick again.

ermintrude13 · 29/08/2009 17:25

mrsb poor D does suffer with his teeth . Mine would have swigged calpol for fun if I'd let them. Maybe his molars will pop through easily like Bonzos DD... hopefully he won't follow her lead re sweetcorn .

And yes, I'm the one with a Matilda - who is not usually a 'warlike maiden' though she has her moments. She's a Tilly most of the time.

mrsboogie · 29/08/2009 17:32

I think the calpol refusal is out of sheer bloody mindedness.

poor sod hasn't eaten a single thing since Thursday and will only drink half a bottle at a time.

Tee2072 · 29/08/2009 18:39

mrsb poor wee mite! I hope he feels better soon.

Heh, yes JW, pieces of moon glass as well!!

sigh jealous of JJ. I, personally, I have a very cranky boy tonight who does not want to settle. He wants a bottle. No, he doesn't. He wants a dummy. No, he doesn't. Perhaps a nap? Nope! They really need to come with manuals!

johnworf · 29/08/2009 19:16

Evenin' all.

bonzo it'll be the first of many trips to A&E before the two of them are old enough to know better (this is a misnomer as they never know better). Glad she's ok though. Better than a pan on the head with superglue

tee normal baby behaviour, sorry to say. Just when you think you've got the hang of it they go and change the rules..........

Cor mrsb his mouth must be really painful if he's not eaten for a couple of days Maybe we should do as the europeans do and shove a calpol suppository up there. Can't really refuse that although the element of surprise is essential.

K has just had a bath and as usual, drank half of the water from the plastic cup I use to rinse her hair. Oilatum flavoured water cannot taste nice, surely.

Met up with DD#1, my sister and my niece today. Did a bit of shopping and had nice coffee and cake in M&S. bonzo when exile is over, I shall meet you and come bearing cake and maybe more cake

I wonder what JJ is up to? Jammy bugger. My turn in two weeks time when we're off to see Dave Gorman. Woooooot!

Tee2072 · 29/08/2009 19:18

Why oh why oh why can't people just accept that other people have different ides from them and let us all live the way we want to?

I really need to step away from certain message boards. I really do.

mrsboogie · 29/08/2009 19:33

who's been bugging you tee?? tell us and we'll hot foot it over there and give 'em head girl hell!!

Tee2072 · 29/08/2009 19:54

Its not on here, mrsb. And really, you don't want to get involved. Its not good for your blood pressure!

Hey! A is asleep. This either means he's down for the night or I'm gonna have a very wide awake boy starting at about midnight.

dawntigga · 29/08/2009 20:44

tee I know exactly what you mean

If you are a budgie in a field of sparrows the sparrows gang up.

ProudToBeABudgieTiggaxx

iris66 · 29/08/2009 21:59

Just a quick whizz in and out - took the children to a petting farm today then got back and did a load of sorting/packing for our house move. Am knackered but strangely enjoying the task (probably because I hand N over to DH whilst doing it!)

Neddie - congratulations on the safe arrival of Oscar and Cerys

Duchesse - congratulations on finally getting your baby too! (sorry your delivery was less than ideal though - take it easy now eh!)

Hoping for a quieter day tomorrow and the chance to catch up good wishes to all

ermintrude13 · 29/08/2009 23:23

I've got a lovely new haircut and all the mousey blonde - well, half a head of it anyway - is combined with highlights and darker blonde streaks so you'd almost think it was real . And Arthur took his bottle of EBM with a look of surprise but drank it anyway much to DH's surprise .

Hope you get the sleep and not the waking, Tee, and that MrsB and wee boy also have a peaceful night. And that JJ is having a wild time as we speak. Night all.

Tee2072 · 30/08/2009 08:57

Morning all!

No, did not get my sleep night. Got my awake at 11 and then up starting at 3:45. yawn I handed him to DH at 5:40 and went back to bed for a bit!

erm oooh new hair.

iris I don't think I realized you were moving house! Have fun with that!!

johnworf · 30/08/2009 10:36

Morning ladies!

Quick post whilst the lady of the house is snoozing. No change here. Set your watch by the 4am waking then up again at 7am.

Dropped DD#1 off to her brother (he's stayed over at his dad's) and they're both off to Stockport for some bikers convention. Sadly I couldn't make it today otherwise I'd be there in my leathers....

So JJ you nursing a hangover or are you enjoying the last hour of peace and quiet before the rabble arrive home? How was the wedding? Anything to report? Did you get up and dance to the birdy song? (do they still play that at weddings?)

tee sorry to hear that the plan of sleeping baby went Pete Tong but I think it's best if you just don't expect anything. Then when they sleep through you get a bonus

ermintrude your hair sounds very lush. Picture?

Talking of hair, after my last hairdressing foray, DH asked how much it had cost and blanched at the £70. Think that next time it'll be nice 'n' easy although I draw the line at cutting my own hair

Tee2072 · 30/08/2009 11:18

JW I have no expectations about anything with him!!!

ermintrude13 · 30/08/2009 14:08

Yay, last night the boy wonder slept from 10 til 6 O CLOCK IN THE MORNING!!! . He has only had a few 10 minute bursts of snoozing ever since but has been quite mellow and happy to sit and burble between feeds so that's a price worth paying. So in the last 3 nights it's gone 4, 5 and now 6am wakings and DH is sure it'll be 7am tomorrow. I'm not. Tee, I'll get him to have a word with your AJ about the joy of sleep.

Hope JJ is sleeping it off

JW, I'm picturing you in leathers hanging around Matlock Bath with all the Angels on a Sunday afternoon...
