Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mrsboogie · 26/08/2009 20:00

eck . Have just discovered there is a Slimming World not 2 mins walk from my front door...

am now debating whether to join...

johnworf · 26/08/2009 20:04

Go for it mrsb. Nothing to lose apart from weight, eh?

jeanjeannie · 26/08/2009 20:14

Go on mrsB you know it makes sense!

dawntigga whooperooo for the jumperoo!!

erm HOW MUCH for a clarinet?? Hope mine are tone deaf with no desire to partake in such musical goings on!

jw yep - Verity has just the one nap now and I have noticed her cramming more into her before she crashes.

OK - Boden dress arrived. It's V nice but it's a bit big on the waist - it's sort of stretchy material so it's not the end of the world but I have noticed that clothes these days do seem to be cut for the 'thicker' waist. Anyway - can you wear boots to a wedding??? Oh I HATE buying shoes - they never look right/fit properly/have my size....grrrrr

johnworf · 26/08/2009 20:25

JJ must be their age then if they've both lost a nap. Used to be one in the morning then another mid afternoon. Now the two have combined.

I've always found Boden sizing good but then again, I have that thicker waist (unfortunately).

My children loaned school instruments and we didn't pay for them. Good job as DS#1 plays the tuba

Nick Knowles is on the telly. His talentless personality knows no bounds and he's spread himself thin on a few programs currently running. He must have shagged a lot of women in casting is all I can say

mrsboogie · 26/08/2009 20:52

I am tempted to join- if I could just get the energy up to go after work...I can't remember the last time I felt properly well- probably 6 weeks ago I don't feel tired but DP does so I guess I must be.

D had a whole day at nursery - slept for only 50 mins after lunch and went to bed at 7.30 without a word. Too good to be true he was back up at 8.30 full of beans and is now yelling and rolling a wooden drum round the floor.

jeanjeannie · 26/08/2009 21:11

Oh wow mrsB what a pain....no wonder you're tired. You may find slimming world relaxing....getting out in the evening and leaving DP to it

Nick Knowles...didn't he go out with Suzi Perry? That girl who rides motorbikes? He really is very annoying though - tis true.

Early night for me - I've lost the will to stay awake. I've still got the screams from the thousands (well about a 100!) of kids at the soft play centre.

duchesse hope it's all kicking off x

neddie I hope you get a good nights sleep and HUGE hugs to you and look forward to hearing that the tins have safely arrives. xx

Tee2072 · 26/08/2009 21:15

Good luck tomorrow neddie!! duchesse hope its all happening.

I've had a day of doing absolutely nothing. Wait, that's not true, I made and ate pancakes for breakfast. Oh and loaded and ran the dishwasher.

mrsb uhg, sorry to hear that. Hopefully he'll fall asleep soon.

I played the clarinet. Just thought I'd mention that...

ermintrude13 · 26/08/2009 21:51

You can get much cheaper clarinets made of composites but this is the cheapest 'entry level' wooden one - we've been renting one via the school's scheme like you did JW but DD has just got Distinction for her Grade 3 and has really taken to it (partly because she plays piano so a one-clef instrument seems easy by comparison) and her teacher advised this model which should do her another three grades at which point we will need to remortgate the house . My last car wasn't worth that much but DH and I didn't question the need to find the money for this - odd priorities maybe. .

But Tee don't tell me about playing clarinet in the past tense - DD MUST do it seriously now

MrsB oh dear, that bodes badly. Hope young D drops off soon.

JJ What Boden dress is it? The one I got is gathered under the bust and the only other Boden dress I have is a wrap so I don't know what their waists are usually like. I do have a waist but it ain't sylph-like... I think boots are lovely with dresses if it's not summer and the boots aren't biker ones .

Neddie all the very best for a smooth and lovely tin opening, and Duchesse, courage xx

Tee2072 · 27/08/2009 07:03

Morning all.

Adam slept from 2100 to 0600! I doubt this will happen again for several months, but man do I feel rested this morning.

Hope no word from duchesse is good news!

Good luck again with the tin opening, neddie! erm I played until I went to University. And the oboe as well. And the piano. Not sure I could play any of them any more!

johnworf · 27/08/2009 08:05

Moaning ladies.

tee enjoy it while it lasts (which is usually fleeting in the baby world)! K swigged a full bottle during the night and another at 6am.

Her two front teeth are through properly now and they look huge I know it's just because their faces are little and they grow into them but it is weird seeing them. Lord only knows how you go on mrsb with D's (almost) full set

ermintrude could never have afforded a tuba for DS#1 (although if he'd taken it up as a career then I prolly would have found the money) as they're £££££££'s. Thank goodness he's left it behind. There'll be no room for musical instruments in the student bar I suspect, especially one of that size

neddie thinking of you. Let us know how it all went as soon as is possible

duchesse you blasted LO out yet?

Think we're taking the piglets out today...not sure where yet but somewhere!

FloriaTosca · 27/08/2009 08:14

Message on duchesses birth thread...emcs at 2am delivered a baby girl 7lb 6oz (I think)...Congratulations Duchesse, it may have been way from your ideal birth but you are both safe and well and that is all that matters. Enjoy your darling girl.

Tee2072 · 27/08/2009 08:40

Yeah duchesse!! Welcome to the world babyduchesse!!

Well, after that lovely nights sleep, we've had a spectacular vomit all over mummy and the floor. BABIES!!!

jeanjeannie · 27/08/2009 08:40

Morning all - CONGRATS duchesse Oh bless her - she had one heck of a ride there. HUGE congrats to all in the duchesse family and relax and enjoy your new gorgeous girl xxxxxx

neddie think of you today. Very excited for you. Cor, you and Duchesse almost did go to the same day! Let us know you're all doing well as soon as you can xxxxx

jw a tuba! Now that's the sort of instrument you just hope you LO doesn't chose...along with trumpet, trombone, bassoon and drums Actually I got to Grade 5 (merit!) but really only did it cos my best mate did!

erm dress looks lovely - small frill plunge neckline (think Yootha Joyce in her 70s nighties!!!) and slim fit past the knee. I went for long as I'd read that standard comes up short - and it was a good move. Thing is there is virtually NO waist cut out - it's straight, so the back just hangs from your shoulder blades to bum cheeks....I'll just have to not stand sideways! Oh I need dawntigga I bet she'd have an overlocker that she could whip in a waist for me. Why doesn't dawntigga live next door to me?!

MIL is having Iris today and I'm off looking for shoes with Verity. We'll go past Starbuck - she likes it in there!

FloriaTosca · 27/08/2009 08:54

Good luck today Neddie. I'm looking forward to hearing your birth announcement.

JW aww those front two teeth are sooo cute. Have a lovely day out in the sunshine (while it lasts). When are you coming up for the curtains?

Erm ouch! at the price of the clarinet but as you say they do hold their value...my parents bought me my cello which I still occasionally played until the sound peg fell out last year(note to self; must get that fixed) and both my pianos (I couldn't bear to part with the old acoustic upright when they got me my Yamaha digital which is more convenient for transporting to concerts and doesnt need tuning every 12 weeks)but they couldn't afford a bassoon so I haven't played that since I left school.

Tigga congrats on your jumperoo. We won a huge set of Quadro last night for As birthday next month. I'm off to pick it up tomorrow morning...Dh is really excited ...guess who will be getting most use out of it?

tee I bet if someone put an oboe in your hands tomorrow it would all come flooding back! A school pal of mine put her clarinet away when boyfriend became more important to her...fast forward 20 yrs, 2 kids and a divorce behind her, she needed to do something to get her out of the house, picked up her clarinet, joined the local amateur orchestra and is now a p/t semi-pro!

Tee2072 · 27/08/2009 08:59

floria the issue with me seems to be that I have lost all ability to read music! My MIL has a piano and I sat down to try and play not that long ago and had to stare hard at the sheet music to try to remember which note was which!!

FloriaTosca · 27/08/2009 09:15

Tee lol!

forgot to say;
MrsB go on .. join SW! I rejoined 2 weeks ago and feel so much better 6.5lb down already (says FT valiantly trying to forget there is still 44lb to go)

johnworf · 27/08/2009 09:18

Sending huge congrats to duchesse

floria as soon as Musbury ring me and tell me they're ready. Anytime mid next week onwards. I really can't wait to get them. I'll ring you though when they tell me they're done!

mrsboogie · 27/08/2009 10:32

mornin all

congrats duchesse and can't wait to hear about your little girl!! ooh I bet yesterday was trautmatic - poor you!
still, all's well now...

floria what do they do at SW? is it ithe same as Weightwatchers? weighing in and nattering about food?
I should jon as there's no excuse - it is in a community centre in the next street.

Well, D slept through, when he eventually went to bed. Which was great.

jj had you tought of a belt? you can wear belts with all sorts of unlikely things these days...

good luck with the tin opening neddie

FloriaTosca · 27/08/2009 11:10

mrsB in essence, yes Though the diet plan is very different ... lots of 'free' foods in unlimited amounts (important for me, if I think I'm forbidden anything I want it).... and they call the chat 'image therapy'. My group is very friendly, but I suppose that is due to a lovely enthusiastic consultant.Threr is a pretty good website for extra support too. If your bmi is over 30 your GP can refer you and you get the first few weeks free. It is definately worth a whirl.

dawntigga · 27/08/2009 11:28

Sends duchesse a gentle hug and wishes a fast recovery!

SmoochesToAllTiggaxx

Tabitha8 · 27/08/2009 11:48

Duchesse Huge congrats to you!!

mrsboogie · 27/08/2009 12:16

I am exactly the same floria if you told me I could have everything I wanted except badly burnt toast I would immediately develop a craving for burnt toast

I think my problem is portion size rather than eating bad stuff. Oh and a love of cooking...

PlumpRumpSoggyBaps · 27/08/2009 16:37

AHA!! There you all are.

I have a message from my pal Neddie.....

Both twins delivered safe and sound.

Neddie seems ok, if her text is anything to go by!

And I know the twins' names, but I'll leave them for Neddie to tell you when she's got spare time again. In about three years.

dawntigga · 27/08/2009 16:52

Yay for Neddie!

WooHooTiggaxx

Tee2072 · 27/08/2009 17:00
