By 'eck bonzo your LO is giving you the run around

V envious of your caravan on Anglesey. Love that place and have many fond memories of holidays there Hope the weather bucks up it's ideas for you.

OOOh Elbow eh? Local lads - local to me anyway Can't stand St Bono though but at least your DH liked his prezzie.

DH gone to see FiL to tell him that we're moving him to another home next week. He's been in this one for 10 years so I'm not sure how it'll go down. He gets so easily confused and I think that dementia has set in over the brain injury which makes explaining anything very difficult. We've had to move him as they management at this BUPA care home has changed. It's crap. All the (good) nurses has left and been replaced with rubbish ones who can't even speak english. Last week, again, alas, we found him sat in his own shit. Not the first time............anyhoo, I hope that DH is managing to get the message through to him.

Think we're off to park this afternoon if the rain keeps away. Need to get out of the house for some air. I'm going stir crazy!

mrsboogie · 23/08/2009 12:45

oooh duchesse how exciting! keep us posted!

am being driven mad a small child constantly grinding his teeth here today - have to shove the dummy in his mouth to stop it...

iris66 · 23/08/2009 15:55

ooohhh! - so exciting duchesse! (thinks privately that neddie's already had her twins and is just waiting to do a double triple announcement )

Bonzo - feel for you hun. N swings between being an angel (down by midnight then up at 4 then 8)and an absolute harpy (wont be put down all day and has to be upright & jiggled to sleep then wakes as soon as she's horizontal ) ..... these things will pass

Tabitha8 · 23/08/2009 16:02

We've nearly won the Ashes. Come on boys. The ladies retained theirs.

jeanjeannie · 23/08/2009 16:18

Wow - the sun is beating down. bonzo hope you get some fabulous weather in Anglesey. Love that place too....have an aunt and cousin who are still there....it's just gorgeous. Sorry that G is giving you the run-around...no advice I'm afraid - I had it for such a long time with Verity.

jw sorry to hear about your FIL - awful business nursing homes. Don't get me started...

Come on Duchesse look lively now!

Right - SIL coming over with her beau at 6 best go and make some dinner. Oh, where is my DP? Ah, yes, he's asleep with Iris....men!

Tee2072 · 23/08/2009 17:45

Hello gang!

duchesse?!?!?!? bonzo Adam does that as well. Of course, I am FF so I can hand a bottle and Adam to DH and go get some sleep! It will get better!

So we finally did it. We bought a new laptop today. We've had two computers for ages, thanks to the wonders of wireless, one desktop and one laptop. The laptop screen has gotten these blank spots in it that we have been working around. I turned it on this morning? Not so much work aroundable any more! There are other issues with it so we went out today and bought a new one!! I love new toys!

hedgepig · 23/08/2009 17:45

Afternoon, we are just back from the Bird Fair at Rutland Water, we managed to get out with out DH spending a fortune on camera equipment so that is a very good result . My back is killing me as O wanted to do the walking holding mummys fingers thing all the time, I can't wait until he can do it by him self.

Duchess how exciting Labour vibes comming your way.

dawntigga · 23/08/2009 17:48

OK when does the hair stop falling out? It's a bloody good job I've got a lot of hair per square inch or a I'd be bald!!!

SickOfTheSoddingHairEverywhereTiggaxx

mrsboogie · 23/08/2009 18:32

same here dawn good job I have thick coarse hair or I would be bald by now. D has always got some of my hair on him somewhere

and it gets in the food

johnworf · 23/08/2009 20:15

evening all. Had the same problem with hair dawntigga but it's getting better now. Those darned hormones aint it mrsb K always has a hair of mine in her hands/mouth. Mind you she does pull it a lot

hedgepig sounds like O is nearly there with his walking

JJ enjoy your soiree FiL took the news well and is actually excited at being moved. Whehey! Result!

tee hope you're enjoying your new toy

iris I'm sure it'll all settle down in a few weeks (she says trying to believe her own words of wisdom even though she's still getting up in the night to a 15 month old)

We went out for a ramble this afternoon and didn't it poor down when we got there. Still, managed about half an hour out in the rain. We got some air and the rain kept people indoors so the coast was clear

DS#2 has moved in with his sister just around the corner from me. I have a fun packed morning of taxiing each of them to different places. He's feeling a bit lost at the mo but I took him a big bowl of leftover chilli and he seemed happy to accept

Nothing planned for this evening apart from finally sitting down to read the newspaper with a cup of tea........once madam has finished kicking holes out of her cot

See Katona has had a meltdown today. I couldn't see that one coming

duchesse · 23/08/2009 20:33

STILL BLOODY NOTHING!!!! I am getting seriously worried now. They're going to start getting all serious on me tomorrow morning.

OP posts:
johnworf · 23/08/2009 20:40

duchesse you spoken to your MW about it? What's the time limit on waters breaking to having to be induced? I know they're infection aware once waters have gone but I had the idea that it was withint 48 hours? I'm prolly wrong on that one................

Tee2072 · 23/08/2009 21:36

Evening all.

New toy is so pretty and shiny and you can read the whole screen and it doesn't take 1000 years to boot and is just beautiful!!!

duchesse I agree with JW call midwife!!!

JW So glad convo with FIL wasn't as bad as feared. Sounds like he's in a horrid place.

Off to bed in a bit. A is already sounds asleep. I like this asleep by 930 thing. Now if we can only get him to stay asleep until 700ish!!

BonzoDoodah · 23/08/2009 22:11

bloody babies - he's slept ALL day. I've pumped some milk and warmed it ready to try him with a bottle for the first time ...and now he's fast asleep. Can't bloody win!

jw - shocked at your FIL's home. Terrible if they're not even changin him. Hope you find somewhere decent.

Iriss - sorry to hear you're going through it too - it is sooo wearing isn't it. How old is N now?

Good luck Duchesse have you tried sitting on a sink plunger?

BonzoDoodah · 23/08/2009 22:14

oh and jj - yes looking forawrds to some sea air - although my sister (who s there already) says it is moving a little too fast for her at the moment and I'm to take waterproofs - boo!

Tee shiny new toys woo hoo!!

dawn boo about the hair!

johnworf · 23/08/2009 22:22

bonzo can't you freeze the milk? I used to freeze mine for K in NICU and thaw it out in my bra (body temp).

We've already got a new home lined up and they should have a place ready for him within the coming week. A couple of the nurses from the home have left and gone to this one so at least he'll know some familiar faces It's frightening the (low) level of care provided in the BUPA one he's in now. He's had cellulitis for 5 months in his leg Everytime we ask about it they say they're doing all they can. Now we're thinking that's prolly nothing Anyhoo, fingers crossed for the new one

Off to bed soon. Fresh air has made me tired.

Good luck sleep wise for all you ladies with little babies......and even more to those of us with big ones

hedgepig · 23/08/2009 22:35

Tee I am very of your new laptop. DH and I were discussing getting a 2nd one the other day but we thought it was a tab extravagant, I will tell him how fantastic you think a 2nd one is. .

Duchess best of luck, I'm sure if you can sleep it will get the contractions started, just as you get to a good dream. I'm off on holiday next week but I expect new baby pictures from you and Neddie when I get back.

Bonzo children were put on this earth to do exactly what we don't want them to do

Tee2072 · 23/08/2009 22:54

Yeah, sleep? Not happening. Damn I thought having A had cured my insomnia. I was wrong.

hedgepig it really wasn't even that much money, under £400 for a fairly nice Compaq. Its not incredibly powerful or anything, but when you've got two computer geeks in the house, two computers are necessary, with a wireless network!!

I hope everyone else is getting more sleep than I think I am going to get tonight...and I can't even blame the baby!

Neddie · 24/08/2009 08:16

Hi all
Quick post as my right leg is so swollen I can hardly bend it. No tins yet but only three days till the tin opener comes. I will be 37 weeks then so I am technically full term. I was over due exactly 3 days for both previous babies. I must admit to having a girly moment whilst showering my swollen legs in cold water at 1am this morning, I confess that I blubbed and told poor DP to just get a gun and put me out of my misery!
I am going to text my RL friend Rumpplumpsoggybaps and she can let you know what happens as I guess no internet access in hospital.
Good luck Duchesse I pray all goes well and I am thinking of you.

Tee2072 · 24/08/2009 08:39

Morning all.

Almost there neddie!! duchese anything?!?

Well, Adam slept from 2130 to 0330! 2.5 more hours and that'll be a full night, since Daddy gets up at 7 for work. Fingers crossed.

Off to do the grocery shopping, actually finally get his passport pics done and to buy larger sized bottles. Time to increase his feeds, me thinks. Oh, and our unofficial, unscientific weight measurement last night? 14 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

johnworf · 24/08/2009 09:04

Morning ladles

Dull, dull, and officially, dull and overcast here with fine sprinkling of rain.

K's back on track for sleeping through the night but woke up shreiking so I think we've started teething again. If so, the sleeping through won't last long.

tee we're the same here with pc's; 3 towers (+ 2 'sleeping' under the desks) and a laptop on a network. DH is considering a second laptop for his sole useage but I think this is overkill tbh. We need so many as we both work from home. However, I draw the line at contacting him via MSN Great that A is getting the hang of the sleeping thing and shame that his mummy isn't having so much luck.

neddie it's not long now until your cankles go down. At least console yourself that it isn't August hot (although it might well be where you are but not here). Stating the bleeding obvious but I take it you've had the cankles in buckets of cold water? Also, if you can get them up that high, have your ankles up higher than your heart...that can also help swelling. Try lying on a sofa with feet on cushions Well done for getting this far !

Taking DS#2 to GP this morning as think he's got an ear infection. Then on to register him at my local GP as his old doctor is too far away. Other than that it's gonna be Groundhog Day!

jeanjeannie · 24/08/2009 09:17

Morning all - t'was a shouty night here at jjtowers am shattered.

Duchesse OMG - nothing yet??? Poor you - do keep us posted - I'm expecting BIG news this morning!

neddie Oh bless you! Tins will be here so soon - and you'll be literally pounds lighter!

bonzo Oooooo - how annoying, pumping and dumping as LO is still asleep GGrrrrr! I always froze mine and attempted to bottle feed when Verity wasn't all grumpy and more settled. Mind you - did me no good as I didn't stick to it - so you keep going!

dawntigga hair falls out for ages - mine was until Verity was about 9 months - I got seriously worried. OK now.

jw good to hear DS is settled in with his sis and that your FIL is getting sorted and happy.

Think it's last week till the kids go back - hopefully they'll reinstate some of the kids activities. Looking like rain today which is a shame as there is a community police fun day on the Rye - and Iris adores a police van!

Wonder how erm is enjoying Edinburgh with her brood?

johnworf · 24/08/2009 09:59

DSS is back to school next Tuesday JJ (after bank holiday) so play groups should recommence then

Sorry to hear that the girls have been testing their vocal chords

duchesse · 24/08/2009 10:02

Still nothing to report. Was not expecting to be still here 30 hours later! A going in for monitoring and a position scan this afternoon.

OP posts:
jeanjeannie · 24/08/2009 10:23

duchesse oh dear.....what on earth is your LO doing in there? Keep us posted. See - looks like i might be on for a win with my duchesse and Neddie double whammy!

jw only problem with them all going back is the traffic - DP has to set of almost an hour earlier!

Right - off to playgroup and see if the weather holds for the Rye. CAKE - I need CAKE - I think I have cake withdrawal after so much of the stuff since Thurs
