Thanks all for the FB adding

Now off to town for some new non underwired bras. All of mine are killing me...

BonzoDoodah · 29/05/2009 11:50

Bacon Butties - YUM ... pass one over and heavy on the brown sauce!

jw - cute pics of the birthday girl.. And I think you should get off this thread - imposter! You look about 20 something!

Tee glad you're thinking about packing! It's even making me nervous!

I had a 3D/4D scan last night - was amazing! M liked watching "baby telly" and the pictures were wonderful. I stuck a few in my profile. Only problem was the placenta is right at the front and baby was using it as a pillow. Had to do the cold watter and jiggle about malarky to get it to move so could get a good shot.
They estimated this baby's weight at 5lb already! At 32 weeks!! Sooooooo it's going to be a big-un if it goes to term. [runs home to scrub the house and wash stuff - panic]

BonzoDoodah · 29/05/2009 11:53

cross posts ... Tee ... GET BLOODY PACKING!!!

MrsB glad the check went well.
jj say hello to Notts for me - I do miss the place. Hope V has a good birthday.

Tee2072 · 29/05/2009 11:54

Beautiful pics bonzo!

All right, made it to Tesco. Now I have to work up enough energy to actually make lunch...

mrsboogie · 29/05/2009 12:12

wow bonzo fantastic pics!

oh yeah meant to say I love the fb pic of your three jw with them all munching and staring off into the distance - very atmospheric - the sort of pic you wouldn't be able to set up in a million years!

Tabitha8 · 29/05/2009 12:53

Nope, Iris I still haven't popped. Baby Tab moves about so much that it gets quite painful, but she stays firmly put. Shall I borrow a trampoline? I'm running around the house swatting flies all day long - it's the most excitement I can take at the moment .
Bonzo Lovely scan pics. I wish we'd had one done now.

jeanjeannie · 29/05/2009 14:43

Another quickie.....a cuppa and a biccie before starting again!

mrsB what a weird check you have there...we never get to see a doc at all Here it's just about sitting up - picking up this with fingers, passing from one to the other and a pass/fail situation! Blimey - I think I prefere yours - much less stressful. Your pics of him are fab - he's a cool little dude

bonzo WOW! baby TV is good - maybe a slot on CBeebies?

tab come on, come on.....nice and warm, pop the baby and a pina colada on the terrace along with the pedicure could be yours after an hour (max) labour In fact, I suspect you'll be bikini-fit within 12hours!

Off we shoot to John Lewis - may pop by later if I have time x

johnworf · 29/05/2009 15:07

Afternoon all. Bloody hell it's hot here. Good job I bought that industrial fan for K's room when it was pi$$ing down the other day and no one was interested Lordy, it'll be xmas cards next............

DH and DS#2 are outside - on the patio, woot! - putting together 'the world's hardest and fiddlest barbeque'. I quote. DH has already sworn a lot so it's a good job that K is in bed and DSS is xboxing, far away from daddy's profanity.

JJ totally forgot you were going to see your folks so I think my card will land whilst you are away. Darn it. I already posted it once today without a stamp and had to get the kind lady behind the post office counter to open the box up. The thought of you receiving a card with AN INVOICE sent me into a right old panic. Anyway, happy birthday to your lovely little girl. 1 year old already Hope she has a lovely time being spoilt by your parents, you and OH and everyone who drops by.

mrsb check sounds really straightforward to me. Well done D for passing! K will fail of course as she cannot support herself. Btw my HV is coming to the house to do hers. No GP involved, and then we're to the hospital on Wednesday to see her consultant for another check up. Bloody hell. Can't fault them for thoroughness! Btw, D looks so very grown up on his pics on FB.

bonzo awwww shucks thanks for saying I look young. Amazing what trowelling on the make-up can do. And they say the camera never lies! Ha! Your baby pics have made me go all clucky. Oh no! If I worked in a scan department then I'd want to be pregnant all the time. Good job I don't then.

Off to supply more valium cool refreshments to the troops. Catch you laters..............WHEN TEE HAS FINALLY PACKED HER BAG!

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 29/05/2009 16:07

tee have you packed your bag yet??? well have you?

am v of all your patios and gardens and decks and such like. What we have is very much a yard. An 'orribe yard with nowt but a dying Xmas tree in it!

jw really didn't get the impression it was a pass or fail situation - the only way she would have picked up on a problem was if I had said there was one. Not that I'm complaining, mind.

Thanks for all the nice comments - he is a proper boy and growing up fast!

heyyy you guys are sending cards! I didn't know we did that. Feel bad now as have missed K's and V's birthdays!

Have a lovely weekend jj and give lovely V a big kiss from me .

Am shattered as after walking to and from the GP surgery I went to town and it is a scorcher.

Have a lovely bottle of white wine chilling in the fridge for later (after I have had a go with the steam cleaner)

Tee2072 · 29/05/2009 16:55

No, ::hangs head in shame:: still haven't packed bag! Walking to Tesco to pick up a few things totally wore me out. DH and I have just agreed that he will run and shop tomorrow so that I can pack my bag!!

Happy Birthday V!!

jeanjeannie · 29/05/2009 17:59

Thank you ladies for your birthday wishes,,,,I shall pass them onto the good lady herself She's feeling very pleased with herself as she now says "hello Iris" Cool for the first few times....now it's constant!!

tee we shan't tell you again...GO. PACK. YOUR. BAG....NOW!!! At least put in the essentials or you know what'll happen....the LO will come just to spite you. That's what Iris did to me - and poor DP spent the first day running round town instead of cooing of his first born!

jw worry not about the card - it'll be double the joy on arrival back home! I'm sure barbeque will be delicious/burnt/raw/incinerated (delete as appropriate)

OK. Bag? check. Presents for Verity? Check. Kitchen sink? check!

See you all on Monday. Enjoy the weather. And don't forget - a nice high factor suncream girls...keep ya looking young and gorgeous xxxx

Tee2072 · 29/05/2009 18:34

Okay, I do have all the essentials in one place, they just aren't in the bag!

I swear it will be packed tomorrow! Part of the problem with doing it today was I couldn't get the damn bag. DH has it on a high shelf!!

hedgepig · 29/05/2009 21:53

sounds good enough to me Tee, but then again I am a last minute kind-a-gal , anyway putting the things in a bag will take your mind of the contractions if you go into labour.

johnworf · 29/05/2009 22:24

Cor blimey, it's muggy here tonight. Think I might need to dispense with the old candlewick bedspread tonight

Barbeque was successful after they finally got it to stand up...on it's own Twas just the trial run though and I'll do a kinda proper one on sunday when the big 'uns come round. DH was completely disinterested in having a barbeque...erecting the thing def put him off. But just after DS#2 lit the charcoal and there was fire and pokey pokey things to poke the fire, he was away. Poking, watching, even discussing the fire. Men eh? Can't help themselves can they? DS#2 was disappointed we didn't have 'a novelty apron with semi-naked woman's body dressed in black underwear on it'. No. No. No.

tee methinks you're procrastinating on the bag front. By the time you've got the bag sorted, your child will probably be starting school...ok, slight exaggeration but I have visions of your DH throwing anything that comes to hand into a plastic ASDA bag as you're rushing out of the door clutching your bump. Hope that image scares you into packing something

Btw I had no bag when I went into labour. Obviously as I wasn't expecting it. My DH brought me the following day to wear, a dress that would look fab in a nightclub and a pair of ugg boots. No tights, socks, KNICKERS. I had to wear what he brought me as my waters had gone in the trousers I went into hospital in. I looked a right pillock Take heed. Pack now.

hedgepig · 29/05/2009 22:52

keep the winceyette knighty on JW just incase it goes cold in the night

O had the screamin ab-dabs tonight most unlike him, maybe we will finally have a tooth coming through??

hedgepig · 29/05/2009 22:58

I think I mean nightie

hedgepig · 30/05/2009 06:49

I so love getting up at 5am it gives you such a great start to the day ..what do you think of my new positive mental attitude? now where is that coffee?

johnworf · 30/05/2009 07:09

hedgepig I was an hour behind you and I'm also on the coffee

K's ready for sleep #2 now but I'm awake so that's that. Think I'll take myself off to Tesco and having a mooch around there.

Another scorcher here today by the looks of things. No plans apart from tidying the garden up and sipping cold refreshments on the patio. Yay!

OP posts:
hedgepig · 30/05/2009 07:32

O is already asleep on the sofa, I thinkmit is the ligeht waking him so early. I need to get him out of our room and into his own but we have to move B into the bigger room so we need to do some sorting out.

I didn't get the Tripp Trapp it went for more than £100 which I thought was too much so I spent even more on a new one! Which makes no sense what so ever.
I'm now looking at garden furniture as I always do at this time of year and then decide it is too expensive and the white plastic stuff we have is fine, I sure white plastice will become trendy soon

iris66 · 30/05/2009 07:36

wall to wall blue sky and sunshine here too . It's been so hot that I'm thinking about getting a tent for some shade! what d'you think of this ? I've always wanted a teepee

jw - meant to thank you for the link to find a wrap/bolero for next sat. I can see why you like the site but don't think I can justify the expense of designer stuff right now!.

Off to trawl the upmarket streets of nearby college town later to try on some bits in (cheap & cheerful ) Phase Eight and East that looked nice on their websites.

Porridge awaits..........

iris66 · 30/05/2009 07:38

hedgepig white plastic is BANG ON TREND!!!!! it lasts forever so never goes in landfill. How green is that eh!

hedgepig · 30/05/2009 08:56

thanks Iris and we are Soooo lucky our neighbours gave us 6 extra chairs that they were throwing out, so we have 10 chairs and a table that seat 4, it is very intimate. . So is you college town anywhere near me (Cambridge)? or is it the other one?

DH is back from doing his bird survey so I have a nice fresh cup of coffee.

ermintrude13 · 30/05/2009 09:05

JW guess what your DH will be getting from your DS next birthday? Comedy aprons are de rigeur for bbqing chaps - and I knew he wouldn't be able to resist the lure of the charcoal for long

My DH's bd today - he's feeling all of his 42 yrs and ready to join a gym so his breakfast request was a fresh fruit salad - so I'm full of strawbs, raspberries, blueberries, mango, grapes and pineapple (the later peeled with one of his presents from Lakeland, which is a magical gadget!). And later we will mostly be sitting on our new accidentally-cheap set of garden furniture in the sunshine.

hedgepig · 30/05/2009 09:16

Ermintrude It's my brothers B'day today too a baby @ 41 . They are leaving the 5 week old baby with Grandma and going to London for the night

johnworf · 30/05/2009 09:21

iris no probs re the link. But, once you've popped, there's lots of nice stuff on their that you can buy when you have your sylph like figure back Btw, Phase Eight isn't cheap but if you've found a good source of it and it IS cheap, please share as I love that make!

ermintrude has your DH run out of the door to buy himself a porche/1200 cc power motorbike/a yacht? Is it mid-life crisis time yet? My DH is 40 this year and wants absolutely no fuss as he doesn't do birthday, not even his own.

You are right and men cannot resist the seductive flames of a barbeque. I think it's probably a hangover from neanderthal times praps?

Ok white furntiture. I've got 4 chairs in the shed as a standby but I always find they stick out like a sore thumb in the garden. Still, they're ok when we're stuck (and they're cheap and only need a wipe over).

I hate that phrase 'bang on trend' Where on earth did it spring from? It's everywhere. It's right up there with 'whatever'. Another pet hate.

tee have we bullied you sufficiently that your bag is ready packed and waiting by the door? Actually I thought of you this morning when I was in Tesco. Went something along the lines of 'not long now for Tee....probably her last 2 saturdays baby free (if she's lucky) then she joins the ranks of us mums on here. Welcome to exhaustion city. population YOU!' Only (half) joking of course and there's lots of good things too but not long now eh?

So, all the toys K has and she's happily playing with a magazine. Ripping it to pieces. She's happily doing so
