mrsb I see you are on the 'what happened with HW's thread' thread.

I have happened to have known HW from long before MN. We belong to another message board together and I've spoken to her in real life. She's not currently answering her phones.

Did you read the thread that got deleted? Do you have any idea what's going on? I'm really worried about her and the children. Our mutual friends have expressed concern to her in the past about her Dh's behaviour.

mrsboogie · 25/05/2009 14:43

yeah tee I do - she posted a new thread yesterday after having yet another argument with her H saying that she had been violated and betrayed because someone had reported her H to ss. She wanted to know why she had been reported when other women who are victims of dv on these threads get gentle reassurance and support. She was angry that she felt she couldn't any longer vent about him on MN after he had been horrible to her because people were judging her and being self righteous. She also said that the visit from ss had caused her father to cry like a baby from shame and that it should have been left to her to deal with in her own way and time. She said the person who reported her had taken the power out of her hands. She has taken the kids back to her husband and says that she told him to stop bullying them and that he is now going out of his way to show himself to be a good father while reserving all his nastiness for her. She is planning to leave him but not until she has things sorted out.

She got a lot of replies saying that people did support her but that it wasn't acceptable for her to put her own interests before her kids' in remaining with him. That she had been posting about the abuse for 2 years and not done anything about it so people were worried for the safety of her kids.

A minority of people seem to think she was bullied but not many of them came onto that thread yesterday.

Obviously I'm paraphrasing a whole thread but I think that's a fair representation of what happened.

In the end she asked for the thread to be pulled again because she didn't like the answers she got.

She was still with him though, yesterday.

Hello all - only just managed to log on - mind you only just woken up!

Got up - felt like I was going to expire and pretty much been in bed al day - like the flu only without the cold. Just feel so lethargic and sleepy.

jw gorgeous pics and you look fabulous! So pleased you have a great day and that weather....wow....K was indeed blessed

Not had time to catch up on everything. mrsB it's amazing just how long and how nasty teething can be. Verity is one this week and still only has 4 teeth but you wouldn't believe the howling this next lot are causing as they're budding through.

floria that sounds like a steal on your garden! Well done you...and all in time for summer

tee Oh how exciting, unwrapping baby clothes....Oooooo, melt!

Right, off to lay about and do nothing. The LOs have survived DP's care for the day....they've had balloons, bubbles and lots of crayoning. He's even managed to feed them too. Wow, he's actually very good!!!

Tee2072 · 25/05/2009 16:03

Thanks mrsb. I still haven't been able to reach her.

JJ I hope you're feeling better after your long lie in!

Tabitha8 · 25/05/2009 16:21

JW Lovely pics and you certainly do not look anywhere near 40. K looked beautiful.
Tee Although I call Little Tab on here a "she", we haven't found out the sex, either. However, we've bought all sorts of colours - reds, blues, browns, greens. I want some colour in my life, though I appreciate Little Tab might not care either way. . I am determined to avoid the baby pink if she really is a she.

duchesse · 25/05/2009 16:26

NO idea why but I've gone for shades of white and grey with the newborn stuff. All still in packets btw, luring me to wash it. But I won't, have resisted and will wash it at 38 weeks (end of July, should dry quickly enough)

Tee2072 · 25/05/2009 16:35

tab I do have some colours, its not completely colourless, its just the white and off white is the overwhelming majority!

duchesse Aww, go on! Wash something! They are so cute and perfect right now!!

duchesse · 25/05/2009 16:37

Stop it Tee! I am only 28 weeks!

duchesse · 25/05/2009 16:39

Tee, they have really cute white and grey newborn stuff at Debenhams. And some at Mothercare. Boots and Sainsbury's have white and cream.

Tee2072 · 25/05/2009 16:52

I think I own all of those duchesse!!

Tee2072 · 25/05/2009 19:03

mrsb I just spoke to HW. Between you and me, its bad. I am trying to get her to leave tonight.

johnworf · 25/05/2009 19:55

When I was having my older 3, you didn't get to find out what flavour you were having so you had to be creative with the colours for newborns. I remember knitting cardigans in shades of green, lemon, cream and white. I did a pale orange one for DS#1 who had severe jaundice due to ABO incompatibility. The cardi made him look even more orangey....very much like he'd been tangoed or fallen in a vat of fake tan

As for teething, apart from the dribbling, we've not had any problems with K. However, on my older 3 I think I had everything in the book. They always got a cold, bright red cheeks, ear pulling, sore bottom, screaming ab dabs etc. Just used to administer Calpol and rubbed bonjela on the gums. Wish I had a secret I could share that sorts it all out.

Think early bed beckons. I'm worn out. 6am start and running about today. I'm off to change into my superhero guise of 'worn-out woman' (does a twirl a la Lynda Carter et voila)

tee I really hope you succeed. I'm sure recent events have made it worse. They need a safe place.

Neddie · 26/05/2009 08:14

Hi all
Sorry your having a crappy time wonderwitch my life always turns to chaos when I'm pregnant (usually homeless or having to move or unstable)you must concentrate on baby and try to forget the rest-which is hard I know.
DP went back to Germany yesterday so I am all alone at the moment. I have my 24 week scan tomorrow-so exciting! I will get them to check if it really is a boy and a girl. Had foal number 3 on Thursday morning- another boy! next one not due for 5 weeks so I have a little breathing space. Must admit I am getting less and less mobile and more and more swollen. Am I the only person in the world who thinks Susan Boyle isn't actually that amazing as a singe (good but not amazing) she was off key when she started Memories (maybe nerves).

Neddie · 26/05/2009 08:15

Sorry that should be "you're" not "your"

Tee2072 · 26/05/2009 08:28

Good morning all!

neddie more pictures please! I thought Susan Boyle was very good at her audition. Haven't heard the new one, but I have heard others say she was off key at the start.

More nesting on my agenda today! Its sorta fun!

Have a good day all!

johnworf · 26/05/2009 09:25

Morning all. Good to hear all is well with your new 'baby' neddie

I remember when my mum was pregnant with my twin sisters and when she walked around, it was like moving a wardrobe. Mind you, she went overdue and my sisters were 6lb 15oz and 7lb 2oz respectively She didn't find out she was actually having 2 until she was 37 weeks either. Back in the olden days things were very different.

Had a very early night last night. Think it was just after Susan Boyle had sung. Tbh only half watched her and she was ok but wouldn't say spectacular...I think she freaked Ant & Dec out at the end of her stint though with her behaviour. I think as a person she is a bit freaky.

tee have a nice time nesting today. Enjoy it as this is the fun/nice part. You'll have the hard work to come soon but I think you already know that.

mrsb are you back in work today?

jj how's the mouth?

K has her last set of Hib boosters tomorrow but not sure if we'll have them done as she has a runny nose today. I'll take her along to GP's and see what they say. I need to speak to them anyway as her MMR is coming along soon and I want to have a little chat with them about it.

Weather has turned to pants again today. Showery with rain....at least we had a couple of nice days though.

K has taught herself to not only roll onto her tum in the cot but also to get to the foot end too. No idea how she manages to get from one end to the other but I have to keep going up to turn her back

Morning all xxx

Feeling very down today, just cant shake it, DP has left to go in to office to tie everything up, I have been up all night crying.

So want to shake myself out of this and just get on with it, I have been trying so hard, even my DP told me to pull myself together last night, that just made me feel worse and cry even more.

What can I do to "pull myself together" ??

sorry again for being so glum, i just want to laugh again and enjoy this PG, will I ever??

jeanjeannie · 26/05/2009 09:42

Morning all. HURRAH!! A WHOLE night's sleep First time in months. The mouth has almost cleared up and the lethargy has gone I really did feel commpletely exhausted yesterday but as DP pointed out I've been getting about 4 hours sleep a night for the last month - I think I just stopped!

jw wow - go K! Verity is still on her back, motionless, like a tortoise!! ALthough she is starting to acquire something of a small bum shuffle!

neddie good to hear another foal has safely popped. Oh yes, pics of foals always welcome When is DP back? not long I hope.

Afraid i can't comment on the susan boyle thing - I was the last person in the world to have heard of her!!

tee enjoy the nesting. It IS fun

Rubbish weather here - but all muggy. We're off to see the creepy singing clown Jo Jingles but the girls like him..so it's cheap entertainment for an hour. See yer later x

Wonderwitch · 26/05/2009 09:44

OH JW

I have seen you mention facebook, I am on there too, if you want to add me.

It's Wendy Wiggins, the pic is a black and white of my face on the slant if that makes sense.

Anyone really who wants to add me that fine with me, just say your from Mumsnet so I know who you are.

xxx hugs xxx

Tee2072 · 26/05/2009 09:46

WW I just sent you a friend's request on FB. Assuming that was you.

Wonderwitch · 26/05/2009 09:49

Thank you Tee, yep was me, I have confirmed xxxXxx

ermintrude13 · 26/05/2009 10:21

Morning all

Sorry to hear you're still low Wonderwitch. You've been proactive and looked into the kind of help you can get so that's good, but you're bound to be feeling down with all the uncertainty and pg hormones. Maybe you shouldn't 'pull yourself together' in some British repressed manner, but try to take things easy, focus on happy thoughts about the baby and carry on pursuing your enquiries. No magic answers I'm afraid, just lots of good wishes xx

JJ yay to a good night's sleep and general recovery - about bloomin' time that the plague retreated from your house

JW I think Susan Boyle has some mild learning difficulties and so her behaviour can seem a bit inappropriate - all that odd shimmying to Piers Morgan (bleergh). But I bet the producers encourage it too, to make viewers laugh. All makes me feel a bit uncomfortable.

Glad baby K is on the move, in that secret baby way that happens when you're not looking . Keeps you on your toes.

Tee have a lovely day clucking and cooing.

I threw up my breakfast this morning - first time I've ever been sick in the morning, usually it's been the evening or late at night and I've been down to once a week since 34 wks. It was such a shock I could only make it to the kitchen sink - poking it down the drainer was fun.

But on the bright side, DH went to Homebase to get the outdoor chair and table set we'd chosen from the sale, and they'd run out of chairs so offered him the display ones at a reduction of £10 each. But the sales assistant took off £140 instead of just £40. You've never seen such a big smile when he returned home from that hunting and gathering trip . Is that bad?

gingermumi · 26/05/2009 10:28

thanks for all the messages, AF due thursday so fingers crossed, unfortunately no time to catch up as dd2 is having a row with her boyfiend on the drive (yay). They have already jammed to back door by slamming it! Hope all ok

Wonderwitch · 26/05/2009 10:28

Thanks so much ermintrude13 it does really help knowing you are all here, and somewhere to sound off, an i hope one day not so long off you will all get to know the real dizzy blonde happy me

This has just come up on the BBC, this is exactly what has happened to my DP's business, seems he's not the only one they have done it too, not sure it will help us but it was them that has caused his business to fold and it's them that are making him bankrupt...
