JJ I bet she gets a phone call saying something along the lines of ....."hi xxxxx. Saw this girl in the paper and she's your double but can't be you cos she's got loads of tattoos all over her....." I'll bet money that's the way the conversation goes.

What's with all the KFC-ness around here?

OP posts:
jeanjeannie · 15/05/2009 18:26

Slovenly - that's my reason for a KFC! Can't be arsed to cook and the place is such a mess too...just can't keep ontop of it all. I'm trying to embrace it in a Bonzoesque kind of style but it's just irritating me now

Neddie · 15/05/2009 18:46

Hi all
I have been about 30 mins reading all the posts...
Hugh Jackman....Yum have serious crush on him
Awful workmates.....yes..you could ring them and say you have contracted Swine Flu....from their office
No poos....prunes...worked in OAP home once....they had them intravenusly administered
KFC.......glorious
Welcome onehit........
Mess....the final frontier...to go boldly where I have not been for several weeks (or more).......tomorrow is another day....
Tattoos.......personal expression or a bloody pain to remove when you realise that you hate the boyfriend you have emblazoned on your left bum cheek.
Photos are now on my profile inc.furries, foetuses and children when still angelic.

ermintrude13 · 15/05/2009 19:47

...stop press....stop press....stop press...

As if in response to the darkest desires of the women on this thread, next year HUGH JACKMAN and ROBERT PATTINSON will co-star in a movie. Now obviously, a cameo appearance by both Alistair Campbell and welsh Chris from Doodle-Do would make it perfect for me and JJ, but even failing that, it sounds like we've got 90 mins of ogling some serious eye candy enjoying some marvellous dramatic performances to look forward to

hedgepig · 15/05/2009 19:47

Neddie the foals are gorgeous (and I don't really like horses) . Good summary I have read it all but had forgotten the key bits so thanks for reminding me.

Cleaning yukkkk is all I can say about it.

I don't think i have ever had a KFC, what a sheltered life I lead.

Tabitha8 · 15/05/2009 20:06

Welcome Onehit. I'm due in two weeks' time. Scary!
Tee enjoy your maternity leave. It's great. I think we get nine months of it nowadays.
Ermintrude Make extra ice-cream with all those egg yolks. I'll help you eat it.

mrsboogie · 15/05/2009 20:12

Awww neddie foals and babies totally fab!!

and a very good summary there - I often think we could do with summaries like that to keep the less rampant posters up to date

Why don't I know who these men are that ermintrude is getting all hot under the maternity smock about?

haha re the DD's tats jw I had a very ill-advised one my shoulder that I spent years trying to hide form my mother. Spent a fortune having it removed...

KFC eeeuuuwww..tsk.

hedgepig · 15/05/2009 20:23

Tab only 2 weeks, so that means it could be anytime now on the 2 weeks either way rule.

Quick get the hot water boiling. You did remember to book the 2 coughs and the baba is out birth, followed by a manicure didn't you

MrsB what hurt more the tattoo in the 1st place or the removal?

Tee2072 · 15/05/2009 20:24

neddie gorgeous foals!

tab a year...9 months on sucky pay, 3 months on no pay. And I'm going to enjoy every second of it!

mrsb I agree...KFC total ick!

If anyone is interested: Tee at 34 weeks

mrsboogie · 15/05/2009 20:29

oh the removal by miles! hurt in more ways than one - cost a bomb too

mrsboogie · 15/05/2009 20:31

Oh Andrew Sachs on Corrie

johnworf · 15/05/2009 20:50

mrsb missed Corrie and saw the meltdown on Eastenders instead. How uplifting

Think my DD#1's tattoos are beyond the removal stage. There's one that covers her back that she had done in many stages and one on her shoulder/upper arm. You'll have seen them most probably on my FB. If not, then there's no way they could be removed. She's had nearly everything pierced over the years. I gave up asking what was pierced at that moment in time after she had both of her nipples done when she was 16. I think most of them have now been taken out....but don't ask incase there are more in their place.

neddie how cute are those foals? Beautiful. Ah, and the scan piccies too I think we have similar tastes looking at your profile Obviously good

Trying to get K into bed and hoping for an hours respite before I go to bed and do it all over again tomorrow Can't wait.

I've ordered some patio furniture today and it's coming next Friday. All I need now is some sunny weather but I'm guessing I've got no bloody chance. It's persistently peeing down here and we've had thunder too. Excellent barbeque weather!

tee you look fab and blooming in your pic. Mooching around and doing no work obviously suits you

Evening ladies - just popping in to say that we're just getting over a bit of a shock.

Verity was happily playing with her little wooden box of shapes next to me on the floor, she got bored, flipped it to the side of her and promptly turned to me, fell back and smashed her head on the corner - she then fell unconcious. I rang the ambulance, they were here ASAP and the woman on the phone talked me through everything....it was awful. She kept opening her eyes, then falling back to sleep.

She's fine, just got to keep an eye on her for the next 24hrs. It was the way she went all floppy, eyes rolling and i couldn't wake her up. Feeling really shaky.

She's been perky in the last hour and happily gone to bed. I really need cake I'll check in later

Tee2072 · 15/05/2009 20:57

Oh man JJ how scary! Sounds like she's okay now though. Big hugs to both of you.

onehitwonder · 15/05/2009 21:03

Hi All and thanks for all the welcomes.

Tee - I reckon I will be spending the first few days of maternity leave cleaning too - I just want to get it over with.

Floriatosca - I love lemon drizzle cake. I made the classic MN recipe a litte while ago and it was lovely. So that could be a plan for the weekend.

Jeanjeanie - Nice to know your elective was such a postive experience. I had my mum wishing a quick natural delivery on me the other day when I rang to see if she would be on stand by to come up and look after DD in case I go into labour naturally and using phrases like 'well at least you wouldn't have a big scar' 'well no mum not on my stomach, but perhaps elsewhere' (I wasn't that polite ) and also 'well at least they wouldn't have to slice through your stomach muscles' . She knows what I went through last time and why I am going for an elective, so I am afriad I got a bit shitty shirty with her.

Sorry for the whinge.

On a more postive note - only 2 days left at work for me - yay!

johnworf · 15/05/2009 21:23

OMG JJ is she ok? What did the paramedics say? Didn't they think it warranted a CT scan or anything? I really hope she's going to be ok. Will you and DP take it in turns to check on her in the night? Lordy, doubt I'd sleep a wink tonight if that was me. I'd be watching her like a hawk. Poor little thing. Sending a big hug to V

OP posts:
hedgepig · 15/05/2009 21:34

OMG JJ how awful I'm sure she will be fine but fingers crossed for a good night.

mrsboogie · 15/05/2009 21:53

oh jesus jj poor V. Poor you. Did thy not want to take her in to be checked?

I wouldn't be able to sleep a wink.

ermintrude13 · 15/05/2009 21:56

JJ, just popped in to say night night and read your post. Hope little V has a restful night - good sign if she's perky now. Must have been an awful shock .

FloriaTosca · 15/05/2009 23:09

OMG JJ!!! How truly terrifying!Doubtless you won't sleep well tonight but I hope poor little V gets a good nights rest, as ermintrude says perky is a good sign. (((hugs))) to you all...

Tee2072 · 16/05/2009 08:13

Good morning all!

JJ I hope you and V had a quiet night and she's right as rain today.

I had horrid dreams all night about a small boy running into traffic and nearly being squashed by cars. Not the most restful ever!

Really need to clean today. Sending DH to the shops so I can do that.

johnworf · 16/05/2009 08:25

Morning all. Sounds like you've an action packed day ahead of you tee Mind you, if your weather is anything like ours here (rain), then there isn't much else to do is there?

JJ Hope you get a few minutes to check in and let us know how Verity was last night and that's she ok. Moreover that you're ok and that your nerves aren't frazzled

Aye, the weather is really pants here today so nothing planned. I've spent half the night awake coughing into a pillow and trying not to wake K up. She's ok though and just gone back to her cot for more zzzzzzzzzzz's - like you do when you're a baby.

Got a date taking my library books back later (got 5 out and managed to read half of one of them that was so rubbish I gave up!) I see that Waterstones have a 50% off sale started y'day but I know if I buy any I'm unlikely to get the time to read them

DH's niece told me y'day that she went to the cinema to see Angels & Demons and she thought it was very good, much better than The Davinci Code (well that couldn't be difficult could it?). I've read both of them and Angels & Demons always came out better for me so will be interesting to see how the film fares. Might catch it on BBC1 at Christmas 2012 when they show it as no way will we get to the cinema in the near future

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 16/05/2009 08:48

JW is the sale only online or is in the stores also? Cuz this reading geek just got a bit giddy!!

And yes, the weather totally sucks!

johnworf · 16/05/2009 08:50

It's def online and I should think instore too. Btw, M&S 20% off next Thursday only for one day.

Here is the link to the pic of my DD#1 in last night's newspaper.

Tee2072 · 16/05/2009 08:51

She's gorgeous JW! And I love her tats! Somehow, I don't think daddy is going to believe they are temporary....
