Hi Jeanjeannie

Thanks for the welcome.
My dd is nearly 4, her birthday is 22nd June, so I am sure my children will eventually assume that their parents only did the deed every 4 years and in September .
Don't know the sex of this one - I like a surprise. Am having an elective section due to ishooos following DD's birth.
Hmmm what else - oh yes, won't be eating much cake in the next few weeks, as I have heartburn from hell, even with Gaviscon advance swigged from the bottle at every opportunity.
I have been on mumsnet for nearly 4 years, having found it in DD's early days, but I name changed when I found out I was PG with this one, as my old name was a bit close to my real one and didn't want anyone in RL finding out too early.
And breathe..............obviously the floodgates have opened now I have started posting .

hedgepig · 14/05/2009 21:33

Tee what a pile of big noses , I am stamping my little hedgepig feet with crossness.

Hi Onehit lovely to have you on board, I am one of the popped members of the thread DS1 is 5 1/2 and DS1 is 7 months.

Just made a lovely Jamie beef stew which was very yummy, must go to bed to get ready for the 2 and 5 am wakenings.

jeanjeannie · 14/05/2009 22:03

LOL@ onehit only doing it once every 4 years!! Well, at our age kids are shocked we do 'it' at all

Heartburn is a great source of conversation on here. I'm an advocate of Ranitidine...a bloody marvel!

I also had an elec c-sect due to problems with DD1...it was a joy...seriously, it was fantastic Like hedgepig I've also popped...but hang around like a bad smell, offering advice, moaning and handing round cyber cake!

hedgepig OOooo Jamie beef stew - I may give that a shot, I was looking at the book only today! I shall join you for the 5am wakening...I'll miss the 2am one...we're doing 3am instead

johnworf · 14/05/2009 22:28

Evenin' all.

Welcome onehit. I'm also a popped one. There's a hardcore on this thread that just don't know when the party's over

tee Bunch of bastards. All of them. Well rid of them imho.

hedgepig Do you have to put St Jamie of the Oliver in the stew, hence it's name?

K's suddenly developed an attitude. She's 14 years too early though I can see that this little one is going to be trouble.....

mrsb don't tell me you've gone to bed early. It's just not on you know. You need to report in and let us know you're still alive!

The M&S 1p sale is real. It's on the DM website. I envisage granny stampedes (like wilder beast but with blue hair). I do know that included are knickers, jewellery (mmmm), scarves and some other stuff. Oh, just read it!

Missed my LK Bennett clutch bag by seconds on Ebay. Was bathing K. So cross with myself as it was gonna go with my (pointy) shoes. Anyway, taking your advice JJ and off to buy myself several packs of tights tomorrow; american tan, warm mink.....

Morning all!

OW OW OW. I am used to my calf muscles tensing up. But my thigh? I could not figure out which way to bend it to release it! And I needed a wee! Man, pregnancy is such a blast.

JW uh oh, attitude at her age...have fun. [really need an evil grin smiley] And bummer about the clutch. Isn't she old enough to bath herself yet?

jj and hedgepig so I guess my waking at 3 am for the heck of it really was good practice then, yeah? Good to know!

So here I am, my first day of freedom. How am I spending it? Cleaning the bathrooms because my in-laws are coming to stay tomorrow.

ermintrude13 · 15/05/2009 08:39

Morning all and welcome onehit. My 3rd DC is due 17 June. lol @ your once every 4 yrs comment. When one of my little sisters had read the 'Where Did I Come From?' book my mum had given her she looked up in absolute astonishment and said - So did you and Dad do that SIX TIMES!!

I second Ranitidine tablets for complete cure of nighttime heartburn - your GP should prescribe them. I still take Gaviscon after meals in the day though.

JW At least K can't quite glower at you through a curtain of her own hair yet. That's how my 11 yr old DD practices the 15 yr old attitude, and it's scary.

Tee streeeetch those thighs . Enjoy your first day of mat leave

I have to make pavlova for tomorrow's official meeting of my baby sister's prospective in-laws and am wondering what to do with the 8 leftover egg yolks! Am going to use 3 to make ice cream - any ideas for the rest? And do they freeze?

Hope the weather's better where youse are.

johnworf · 15/05/2009 09:06

ermintrude it's raining the proverbial cats and dogs here. It's unrelenting. And that's coming from someone who was born with an umbrella in her mouth - being from Manchester and all

K's not quite got the look off pat yet but my SiL was amazed when, how did floria word it? ....she 'paints you a look'. Which is very much what she does these days. Awful expressions on her face sometimes. Sheer digust mixed with distaste. No idea where she gets it from.........

tee you've got this maternity malarky all wrong. You should be getting the in-laws to clean your bathroom or at least your DH! Do we have to give you lessons on how to be slovenly?

morning all! welcome onehit i had my LO when i was 42 My DS1 has just turned 5

tee your workmates are crap! that was very bad, no cards or anything. well, stuff them!
enjoy your time off! no cleaning! although i was cleaning like mad before baby came and i was specially addicted to the smell of mr muscle kitchen cleaner ! i loved it so much i had to stop myself from drinking it! how crazy was that!!!

it is grey and horrible here today. same as yesterday. kept threatening to rain but nothing really.

promised to go to babymassage with friend today. but weather out there is so crap. feel like cancelling!

have started dieting properly last mon, so today is the 5th day. limiting calories to 1250-1600 per day. so far so good. eating the right things, so not hungry. have started to lose some weight already. husband has noticed . another 10 kgs to go! thats about 2 stone. thinking of the weight loss in lots of 5 kg so it is not too intimidating. LO is 17 weeks so am running out of excuses why i am still carrying the extra weight!

iris66 · 15/05/2009 09:58

morning all and welcome onehitwonder looks like you're next in the delivery line then! (I've another 7 weeks to go and am 42)

heron lol (but also )at "LO is 17 weeks so am running out of excuses why i am still carrying the extra weight!" my family's mantra is "it takes 9 months to get the weight on so it's going to take at least that to get it off again" don't be too hard on yourself eh!

tee - the cramp sounds very painful! (bananas are supposed to help aren't they?)AGree with the others - get someone else to do the cleaning!! unless you've been bitten by the nesting bug (I most definately haven't this time - yet )

ermintrude pavlova! yum save some for us please!!

jw - bag luck on the handbag. Had you found one to buy in the shops as a fall back?

DS1 woke us all up at 5.40 this morning crying because his little rechargeable lamp had run out of juice It was light and his curtains, and door, were wide open FGS! He's developed a fear of the dark for some reason (do they all go through this phase - I've forgotten) and it's very annoying as he's seriously grumpy now and has been pushing & shoving DS2 all morning aaaaggggh. I'm going to do roast chicken for lunch so maybe that'll improve his humour.

heron22 · 15/05/2009 10:03

hi iris ok i will take it a bit easy on myself ur right, it took 9 months to get weight on

i feel ur frustration about light! my DS1 who just turned 5 sleeps with this red light on! (his room always looks like a brothel, u know red lights ) i wish he would just sleep in the dark like us grown ups! i buy the red bulbs in bulk because heaven help us, if i even run out of bulbs! it would be a nightmare to get himn to bed! did your DS1 go back to bed after 5.40? or was it an early start for you all? yum roast chicken!!!

heron22 · 15/05/2009 10:12

i am a little worried cos LO has not done a poo 2 days now.

mrsboogie · 15/05/2009 10:40

Morning all

Very yucky weather today here
.
Welcome onehitwonder and congrats. I am another popped one who won?t go away. If we popped ones moved away to a more appropriate home we wouldn?t have the pleasure of meeting all you new ladies ?.

Nope ?jw didn?t go to bed early last night ? stayed up for Question Time ? which was fun! have still got my cold and have now gone deaf! Its most irritating ? especially since D has just started another cold ?if I catch that one before getting over this one I am going to DIE!

Just been to the docs for my next Xenical prescription ? have now not lost anything in the last 2 weeks ? I even dropped the occasional ginger nut biccie but still no movement. Am only on about 900 calories a day and have been walking to and from work so cannot fathom it at all.

iris66 · 15/05/2009 10:40

heron - sadly, that was it for sleep [blearyeyedemoticon] DS' light is an ikea ghosty type thing that glows green - DS christened him "Bob the blob"

Have you got any prunes or orange juice? (1/2 a prune in some yoghurt always sorted mine out )or, failing that, a gentle tummy massage (clockwise)

iris66 · 15/05/2009 10:47

bloody hell mrsb 900 calories!! I think my body would go into shock if I dropped that much food (non-pg of course!) Sorry you've hit a plateau though. diets take ages don't they

BonzoDoodah · 15/05/2009 11:23

Tee there's no other words .. what a bunch of selfish bastards!!! Not even a bloody card! How bleedin miserable is that!!!??? FGS even a card is miserly. Not even cowworker got you anything??? FFS Miserable shoites! Good riddance.

heron don't worry about pooing - HV said if it goes on for a week or more then worry. DD did none for 4 days sometimes and then 6 in a day other times. No reasons either and both within normal apparently.

Ermintrude egg yolks = Lemon curd or even better LIME curd ... VERY easy to make and delicious! (and we obviously share good taste .. well in the names dept anyway)

Iris ... can't you persuade your DH that Tilly is a nice abbreviation (or Tildy as M's cousin calls her) or even Matty? You could try prolonged sulking ....

You're all talking about weight - I'm a bit - got on the Wii last night - not been on or 86 days (tut tut) and put on ... a stone!!! OMG!!! No wonder am waddling!

Oh and jj forgot to say - I put the spots on the mini myself ... stickyback plastic and a pair of scissors! It was stripey before that but I preferred the spots.

FloriaTosca · 15/05/2009 12:20

MrsB as a former SW groupie (7 yrs!!!)my consultant would tell you that you are not eating enough '..the boiler needs stkoing if it is going to burn..' Eat lots more fat burning foods (fresh veg and fruit). If it is any consolation, (when I lost the weight all those years ago), every time I lost a stone I plateau'd..1st stone for 1 week, 2nd stone for 2 etc ....You have all my sympathy and my admiration for keeping going...it is the memory of weeks like that that keeps putting me off doing it all over again.

Tee at your former co-workers..miserable bunch of *$!!% 's!...here;have a virtual basket of bath bombs and body lotions to pamper yourself with in those spotless bathrooms.

Welcome onehit, have a slice of lemon drizzle and a cuppa...I'm one of those that actually popped before the thread started but needed the support of others in a similar situation to me...not long to go for you, I hope these last few days at work fly by and your co-workers do considerably better by you than tees did for her.

JW Oh dear, I hope Alex didnt teach K that look..he's embarrassing in the intensity he puts into giving newcomers ' a coat of looking at..' as my gran used to say. Are you free for rl lunch on Tues? If the weather is like this I'll be in serious need of something dreadfully stodgy by then.

Waiting for Alex to wake from his nap so we can go and get mil a Grandma birthday card and take it round when I dump him on her for the afternoon.

jeanjeannie · 15/05/2009 12:28

enters stage left, panting..."HIYA"

Been running around like a busy thing in busy land. Now NOT going swimming as Verity's eyes have gone all gunky again...boo

tee go easy on the cleaning now - you don't want to run out of steam before your nesting instinct kicks in!

MrsB the weight will come off again...you need to keep up the exercise...take about a week I reckon. Have NO idea how you're doing it all on less than 1,500 calories though...I'd have passed out by now!

heron worry not about the poo....a bit of dried apricot/prune juice in some water should get it kick-started. And while you're BF, you'll still have stubborn fat...it's the hormones!

iris roast chicken...OOOOooo, am I too late for lunch?

jw LOL@K honing her look of disgust! MMmmm, yes, I wonder who she's been copying to learn that eh??

Ok - off again > exits stage right

Tee2072 · 15/05/2009 12:32

mrsb you might not be eating enough for your activity level and so your body is going into 'starvation mode' i.e. not letting you lose weight. Add some more (healthy) calories and see if that helps.

Well, bathrooms did not get cleaned. Went shopping instead and now waiting to do my after lunch blood test so I can have a nap! Then maybe I'll do the bathrooms! And the weather here is stinkin'.

johnworf · 15/05/2009 13:17

tee soooo glad that you are procrastinating already...and it's only day 1!!!!! Huzzah!

Just got back from Costco and picked up DH's nieces b'day cake. 18 eh? Can't remember that far back.

mrsb sounds like you're at the plateau point that I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. I think I'm just coming out of the other side of mine. Shifted 2lbs in 2 weeks. And, I ate a bar of chocolate. Apparently this 'cheats' your body into burning fat again (I'm told). As already mentioned on here, your body thinks it's starving so holding on to all the fat it can - in my case that's a lot of fat to hold

floria should be ok for next Tuesday (flicks through her empty appointments diary). Mr patio man is starting on Monday but is so far resisting all my offers of assisting him lug the stone in.

JJ I've absolutely no idea where on earth she could have seen those filthy looks Hope Verity's eyes start clearing up soon, poor thing.

No plan B for bag but no big deal really. SiL asked me if it's ok for her to wear her jeans to the NC I wonder if the words 'no', 'effing well' and 'isn't' would offend?

OP posts:
BonzoDoodah · 15/05/2009 13:40

[burps and rubs stomach] ... ah the delights of a KFC for lunch ... [wonders where all that stone of weight came from ]

Tee sod the cleaning - lie back and relax. And as far as nesting time goes .. I was gutted I didn't get it ... I'm a slut as far as housework goes and was hoping the nesting thing would leave me with a spotless gleaming house ready for PFB to arrive into. Never happened. House a slum - I can live with it and it boosts her imune system doesn't it [someone??].

Went to Tampopo last night with DD (noodle bar - v nice) and met my best friend. Didn't get a word in edgeways as M was making eyes at everyone and non-stop yapping the whole time. At one point a waiter came past and picked something up from the floor next to us. While he was down there M chirped up "HELLO BOYS!!" ... nearly wet ourselves.

johnworf · 15/05/2009 15:17

lol@bonzo's DD. I wonder where she gets it from?

KFC eh? sigh. Not had one of those since I was drunk in Manchester.......years ago.

I'm your alter ego then bonzo. I'm not yet bordering on Howard Hughes but it really gets me down when the house is a mess. Very sad I am (in Yoda voice).

DD#1 is in today's local rag (Manchester Evening News) in the clubbers bit. Pic from last week with her ex b/f in Rockworld (her second home). Nice one too so I've bought two copies Only one fly in the ointment; Her father and grandparents buy the paper too and in the pic it very much shows off her tattoos.....and they don't know she has them. Well, they didn't but suspect they do now....heh

OP posts:
iris66 · 15/05/2009 15:49

jw - fame for your DD then! fab! and so funny about the tattoos I wonder if you'll be getting any terse phone calls later

I've been getting really painful BHs since before lunch - not helped by DS2 crawling all over me and elbowing my bump . On the upside though, DH called earlier and it looks like he'll be home on monday hurray!!! It can't come quickly enough. I really think I need to get some proper rest now, I'm getting so hormonal that I burst into tears when I saw an ambulance doing it's blue light dash earlier

Tee2072 · 15/05/2009 15:56

JW this is why you always tell about these things...unless she planned on having her tats outed this way.

iris I am right there with you on the hormones. I got mad at DH about something yesterday and just burst into tears. Not like me at all!

iris66 · 15/05/2009 17:30

phew - BH's have stopped. I was getting a tad concerned for a while there

jeanjeannie · 15/05/2009 18:09

Hello all - what a busy day and now I'm waiting for DP to arrive home with rats in a bucket...yeah....I'm having a KFC too...it's all the rage eh Bonzo

jw awww, fame for DD1, that's nice. I wonder if the relatives are fanning themselves, trying to calm down and convince themselves that they're temporary tatoos!!

iris that's great news about DH coming home....where has he been? Is he working away?

Oh I still burst into tears at anything and everything. I've become a right woose since having kids!
