Morning ladies. Seems to have been all go at my end and on this thread too. OOOh nice that some interesting things have been thrown into the mix.

Sorry I made you ladies blub at K's 1st year vid. Didn't mean to. Thought that was something only I did!

tee sounds awful that you're waking with that horrid acid mouth. But not much longer to go now - both at work (hurrah!) and with D Day.

neddie how sweet that you've already had a 4 legged hairy baby Bet he's really cute.

JJ I'm thinking that you're conspicuous by your absence and that you're passed out over a pile of washing waiting to be folded. Those girls really are running you ragged. No idea how you're doing it as I'd be packing my bags by now. Rows often occur when you're frazzled....ask my DH

mrsb 11pm eh? Glad he's got his mummy and daddy into a routine

Had an early night last night. I was fairly tired after my lot had gone. They kindly left me the clearing up to do. How kind

bonzo meant to say, your mum sounds very much from the same mould as mine. Hence I keep mine at a distance. Can't stand the hassle.

Must go and start on this housework. It always seems like there's so much to do at the start of the week....praps it's psychological.

I've been trying to locate the source of a vile vinegary/urine pong all morning and just discovered it's some gypsophillia (sp?) in a bouquet my sister bought for me

am I having olfactory hallucinations or does it always stink?

jeanjeannie · 11/05/2009 12:43

Afternoon everyone! For once I did get some sleep - not loads but more than usual. Already been to a playgroup and to the doctors for Verity's eyes. It is conjunctivitis....so I'll head to Tesco pharmacy later....that'll be a nice trip out for the girls

jw you are SO right about rows when tired. We've been horrid to each other this weekend

duchese am very of your trip away, good to have you back.

Iris gyp stinks! Not when it's ultra fresh but it can seem to turn the water all nasty smelling too - like an old dyke in summer!

Garden news: We're ready to sow the lawn tonight SO pleasing. Just need to whip up a fence, pour the concrete patio and put up a fence....eh Voila! The girls will be able to go out and play!

Off to hang out some washing...byeeeee

BonzoDoodah · 11/05/2009 13:54

Tee I'm with ermintrude - try Ranitiadine (is safe in preg). It's amazing. I was drinking necking Gaviscon more than 6 times a day but went to see Dr last week and it is amazing the difference. I feel like I have my throat back and am nowhere near as ratty with the pain. Only needed a Gaviscon hit about 3 times in the last week. Amazing.

No wonder my mum is so tired (poor thing) - having so many daughters and grand-children to take care of must really take it out of her! Interesting article Iris ... must remember to deactivate the buttons. By the way shouldn't you be on the DueinJuly thread with me?

duchesse sounds like a lovely week. I have to admit - the little girl sounds a lot my daughter. She sleeps from 8pm til 7 or 7-30, has 1.5 hours nap in the day (and has done since about 8 months) and is a happy non-crying girl. I can't say it's anything I've done - just her temperment. (Although the terrible twos seem to be striking and turning her into winge-beast - sob).

jj - garden ... photos?? And sleeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

jeanjeannie · 11/05/2009 14:02

Oh yes, Ranitadine....it's amazing! It's not worth the nasty gagging on Gaviscon - one tablet and instant relief - lasts all night too! I wish I'd got it earlier on as I started to bleed it was so bad

bonzo I shall post pics later. I have some on my profile, bu they are either of the carnage or Iris on the digger!

Girls just waking - nice long sleep today - I'm blessed!!

Tee2072 · 11/05/2009 16:00

My heartburn really isn't that bad bonzo. Its just very occasionally that I need Gaviscon or wake up with a mouthful of acid!

heron22 · 11/05/2009 18:29

hi have joined www.sparkpeople to keep a food diary. otherwise i eat and i forgot how much and end up eating too much!

anyone keep a food diary?

heron22 · 11/05/2009 21:03

have i killed this thread? !!!

Wonderwitch · 11/05/2009 21:08

Heron Errrrrr yep.. lmao

johnworf · 11/05/2009 21:16

Evening all.

heron don't think you killed it but think that everyone has been busy - usual Monday then

JJ I meant to say, your garden really has come on quick. Bet you can't wait for for the girls to go out and play in the garden. At last, playtime on your own doorstep. Now you'll be invaded by babies looking for a nice garden to play in

Tonight had a big run in with DSS. Sigh. Gave him spag bol and he'd decided he wasn't going to eat it just by looking at it. So, some 30 minutes later and him crying at the table, let battle commence. I talked to him afterwards but it's really hard going. Really hard sometimes. He's just so bloody inflexible. Anyway, resolved now and both ready to fight another day

Think I'm coming down with a cold or something. Got that scratchy throat so just taken a big dose of the pro/pre biotic tablets from boots. Think praps time for bed...hopefully be a bit perkier in the morning.

OP posts:
hedgepig · 11/05/2009 21:46

evening too
Heron hi not killed it we do go quite very occasionally .

I am exhausted up since 5am, DS1 was off school ill today (just sniffles) so its been a bit upside down here today.

JW I haven't managed to look at the K pics yet, Flash doesn't work on our main computer at the moment (Of the joys of living with a computer geek who makes everything so complicated!) so I need to turn on the laptop when I can get DH off it. When is the non-christening?

Welcome rainbowdays lovely to have you on-board.

Right, beddy-bo-oz-time

rainbowdays · 11/05/2009 22:30

Thank you for all the welcomes, it will take me a while to get to know you all, some I have met before. My due date is 20 Jan 2010, so very early days yet only 3weeks5days, another 36 or so weeks of pregancy to go yet!

Neddie · 12/05/2009 07:35

Morning All
Welcome Rainbowdays hope all is going well.
I went for an antenatal appointment yesterday and the consultant asked me why I was there . I sometimes wonder how these hospitals manage with loons like this at the helm. Anyhow BP fine etc- did tell me that these would be much smaller than my previous great hefalumps and was about to try to persuade me to try au natural birth but before he had chance I told him I 'd tried that before and both times they had stuck and I wasn't about to do it again - not with two at once and at 42 years old anyway. Advantage being older mum is they don't mess with you.

Will post some pics of furry babies soon. Car is just fantastic it's enormous inside but not that big outside like the Tardis. Must remember not to put hay in it EVER.

jeanjeannie · 12/05/2009 08:31

Morning all. Been up since crack of dawn - so no change there then!

Nah heron you've not killed the thread....seems that weedkiller couldn't get rid of this thread I think we're all going through a busy/tired period - I know I am.

neddie am PMSL@ not putting hay into your car. I told my DP that ours mustn't be used for taking stuff that should be in a skip down to the tip....Hmmmm, it's made several trips much to my disgust! Can you get a foal in it though?! Car seats for foals....oh how funny would that be...."foal on board" sickers for the discerning farmer and breeder Good to hear LOs are good, BP is fine and the C Section isn't in question!

hedgepig hope you got some sleep and B is feeling better.

jw sounds like you're breaking the back of DSS's inflexibility. There is a post on another boards where a mum has been to a psychologist re her 9 year old's eating habits. She posted a few good tips that she passed on and one of them worked with Iris yesterday! Keep up the good (hard) work.

Off to Oxford at lunch to see my friend and her new baby - the one born in record time! Now to look up how the heck to get there, without sat nat and double baby-brain!

johnworf · 12/05/2009 08:56

Morning all. Feel like s**t today. Sore throat and generally washed out. My turn to paint the red cross on the door

neddie glad all is well with the LO's. Looking forward to seeing the furry babies

Welcome rainbowdays. You have to just jump in on this thread. There's no standing on ceremony I'm afraid! Congrats on BFP btw.

JJ have a fab time in Oxford. Say hi to Lewis for me if you see him wandering around And don't come back getting all broody seeing a newly sprogged LO either! (as if). thanks for the tips on the eating. I'll hunt that thread out as I'm needing all the help I can get at the mo.

I'm off to read up why the Andres have really seperated.....as if we'll ever find out. Methinks it's publicity stunt but call me and old cynic..........

iris66 · 12/05/2009 09:09

morning all

I did a very silly thing last night. I watched "born to be different" and "find me a family" back to back Don't think I've cried so much in ages. I then had a horrid dream where DH had put up about 20 TVs all over the house and was being really vile to me . I've got seriously puffy eyes this morning

jj what were the eating tips? or could you point me in the right direction please. I have a right time with DS1 over eating - everything has to be just so - even to the point that, sometimes, he has to have his cup put down on the table in a particular place so he can reach for it or all hell breaks loose it's very wearing
Thanks for the gyp tip by the way - I changed the water and dumped it all and my kitchen is much more fragrant now

Neddie - glad all's well with you and your bump. I amaze myself at my assertiveness with the consultants now too. Lol at your new car - we bought a Kia Sedona a couple of months ago (previously I'd have crinkled at the thought) but I absolutely love it. I can get out of the driver's seat & get DS1 on a potty & back in seats without even opening a door I can't clean it though - we're both too big - and that's driving me mad!

hedgepig - hope your DS is better today

off to take the boys to a music morning in a mo then DS2 goes to pre-school after lunch (ahh, peace at last) ...

Tee2072 · 12/05/2009 09:11

Morning all.

Do you think if I burst into tears here at my desk they'll let me go home and start my leave today? I am so tired.

JW I hope you feel better soon. Nothing worse than a sore throat.

JJ Snuggle new baby for me!

jeanjeannie · 12/05/2009 10:02

fussy eating thread here It's not very long and the woman who is the SALT really posts an unhelpful comment

We eat a great diet in this family (FIL's choccies aside!) and so did Iris...but since her illness a year ago it's become a nightmare. Like you iris my DD1 (Iris) can go bonkers if one piece of food touches another. Currently she likes salad but only if it's drenched in balsamic (middle class heaven ) but give her some kewcumber to eat on its own and she goes nuts! Anyway - we tried the advice with some steamed carrot and it worked. Slow steps...and I'll try it again today. Thing is - I know she actually likes carrot!

Fancy watching TV programmes like that - in your condidtion. It was Ashes to Ashes for us....couldn't do the emotional rollercoaster. Although DP and me were getting upset about the demise of our 80s Audi Quatro - a grey version of the one in the TV series. Cor - it was a great car - went like stink

jw waves of sympathy flooding your way m'dear. DOn't go knocking yourself out...relax. Look at your nice new dress and stroke it lovingly

tee throw up on your keyboard...that'll do the trick!

mrsboogie · 12/05/2009 10:14

mornin all

Knackered here too and STILL sniffling and snottering and coughing (walking to work and coughing all the way - pelvic floor hell )

And worse than that - I have put on 4lbs since Friday - without eating a single bad thing or going over 1000 calories! How can that be??

jw hopes yours passes soon!

and have a good day out jj - never mind Lewis - say hello to the other fella if you see him - whatsisname the sidekick - he's fab.

heron22 · 12/05/2009 13:58

hi all, just got back from swim class with LO. so glad i did not kill the thread!

ah mrsb i hate it when weight piles on without any reason!

jw i agree with you, i think this jordan peter andre thing is a big stunt. more money for them. more magazine covers etc. i am an old cynic, like you!

FloriaTosca · 12/05/2009 14:42

JW OMG! I'm in floods...I've seen most of those photos before but compiled like that and now I have met you both....words fail me...Alex is mopping my face with a bib and both saying and signing "baby..ahhh!"...
Sorry you are feeling the start of 'something'..I hope the early night and probiotics help..now Dh has gone back to work (he has been off for 10 days...had to choose the week of bad weather didnt he)I was going to invite you over for lunch one day but understand if you are not quite feeling the thing...next week perhaps?

MrsB Water retention is the usual cause of unexplained weight gain...hope it goes as fast as it came.

Sorry I didnt manage to catch up on all your chat, just a few pages.... Welcome Rainbowdays and congratulations on your BFP I hope you have a lovey smooth and unexciting (except in anticipation)9 months. And congratulations Neddie on your 4 legged arrival...looking forward to seeing a pic.
We have been busy with the potty training ..it is a two steps forward one back affair..we have days when he is perfect all day, signs or says 'toilet' and can hold on long enough to get to one but other days he wont answer if you ask and wont look at you in case you sign...its a case of "yes" means 'now'..."no" means 'not just yet' and no answer means 'yes but I'm too busy to stop playing', so we also have had days when he can go through 3 or 4 changes of clothes, ..nights are 50/50, he has gone 7 nights dry but then had 3 wet so I'm still using training pants at night.
We were also working on the new wet room and the garden remodelling (a massive undertaking like JJs) including removing all the shrubs, levelling off and flagging one of the side gardens, moving 3 big sheds there, digging out a concrete fence and then removing several tons of clay (and pig sh*t), digging in 100m of field drains, mixing many tons of grit sand with the remaining clay, topping with many tons of good topsoil and then turfing)but all that has come to a halt (after a long hard and very wet week) as I have ricked my back and Dh has dropped a concrete post on his toe(minutes after changing his safety boots for trainers)and also trapping a nerve in his neck ...so who knows when it is all going to get finished...
..oh well....should leave me more time for tea and cake and catching up with all of you.

johnworf · 12/05/2009 18:20

floria awwwwwwwwwwww. I have a mental picture of A wiping your face with his bib! How sweet is he I would have been up for lunch this week - lord knows I feel like getting out and having a chat. Feel rough though. I can feel it in my eyes and my throat is still rough. I doubt it's anything really, just sickening for something. Hopefully firing on 4 cylinders very soon. Next week we can do instead

I'm having my hair cut/dyed tomorrow morning. Just remembered. God, it's vile at the moment and I can't do anything with this grey mop

As I've been feeling sorry for myself, had a bit of an LK Bennett shoe/bag spree this afternoon on Ebay. Ah well...brought me a bit of enjoyment.

Feel like going to bed but DH is out tonight at a bridge match.

floria you sound like you've dug your whole garden up and started again! Is that close to what you've done?

Tabitha8 · 12/05/2009 18:29

Lovely video JW. You must all be so very proud.
Welcome Rainbowdays. I've just completed 36 weeks and am now starting to think about pushchairs .
I see some of our thieving MPs are going to repay some cash to us. Can't wait to spend mine. I feel sorry for those who have been claiming within the rules.

ermintrude13 · 12/05/2009 18:46

Evenin all

Tabitha I didn't realise one could claim for maintenance of one's moat or swimming pool, how useful would that be, I'm definitely in the wrong line of work

JW boo to the nasty cold but hooray for LK Bennett. I do love their clothes - bought a baby blue fine-knit fully lined and very fitted silk dress and jacket for my sister's wedding 4 yrs ago and it's my Dieting Aim to get back into it once this LO arrives. It's a 12, which is my normal size, but the smallest 12 I've ever seen. Gorgeous though.

mrsb it must be water retention or something to do with the time of the month. Be strong! And hope the sniffling passes soon.

Floria toilet training is such a bind isn't it? DD was dry in the day by her 2nd bd but needed pull-ups at night till she was 4, and DS couldn't be trusted in big boy pants until he was nearly 3, had pull-ups at night until the summer before he started school and would occasionally poo his pants until he was nearly 5 . They all get there the end. Hope your poor injured DH feels better soon

mrsboogie · 12/05/2009 20:09

Very quiet on here today

ermintrude that dress sounds divine, I bet it hangs summat gorgeous.
