Oh the joys of toilet training! I've it all to come. I'm counting off the days...

ermintrude I love LK Bennett too. I can justify the prices on Ebay especially when they've only been worn a couple of times or once to a wedding. Almost new-ish.

I'm almost at time of the month and I'm bloated out as well. Nothing to do with the tube of smarties I scoffed while I was feeling sorry for myself....justifying it nicely with 'purely for medicinal purposes'. Can you imagine if you could get smarties on prescription?! Oh my lord. A dream come true that would be.

Sick of hearing about the MPs and their expenses. Corruption running through them all like a stick of Blackpool rock. No better than common thieves.

I'm really perplexed by the two differing stories on the Andres. It's got to be a publicity stunt surely...they can't even get their stories to match.

I caught (but didn't see the whole feature) on GMTV y'day a debate re breast v bottle. Interesting that one of the women being interviewed said that a lady she'd spoken to said she'd 'never bf as her boobs were for her DH only'. Comments like that make me feel sad.

Btw JJ thanks for the picky food eater thread. Both myself and DH looked at it and we're going to give it a try. Anything is worth a try. It makes it harder with his AS though and I am soooooooo glad that there are others out there that have the 'no food touching another food' thing. Hope you are having a good evening and that Oxford was a grand day out No broodiness remember?

Neddie · 12/05/2009 20:31

Just popping in to say hi all.
JW Andre split- yes could be publicity stunt- to be honest I couldn't give a flying fart anymore (and I am a rider/horse freak like Jordan) I think the poor lad is better off without her. I used to think ah well done she's savvy and is a good mum but really she's obsessed by herself and the money. She probably does love her kids a lot but it is a circus she runs not a household!! Oh God I am so judgemental- it's sad for the children- I should know I am just getting my own Decree absolute in the next weeks (from DX not DP)and it's really sh**y.
I am still loving car even if it is the novelty of having one that doesn't smell of farmyard or old fast food wrappers (slovenly is my middle name when it comes to cars!)
take care

jeanjeannie · 12/05/2009 21:29

Evening all. Awwwwww, little Erin was just beautifull....sooooo teeny, lots of hair and I had a cuddle!! No, I'm not broody though. Forgot how darn close Oxford is, literally 20 mins door to door, me thinks a shopping trip could be in order!

jw YAY, for LK Bennett. Gosh, I wish I could find the skirt I've got my eye on making an appearance on ebay Hope you're pulling through and not nose-diving into snot hell Glad the thread came in handy - we had success with a bit of scrambled egg today Definately try that again this week as she positively liked it....but realised she shouldn't and put it down

neddie good to hear you're still loving the car. Remember now - no hay, no dung, no livestock

Pete and Kate...MMMmmmm, I don't get them at all - sorry. Just not on my radar.

What is on my radar is MP's expenses...WOAH.....a MOAT! You've gotta admire the balls to put that one through. Thing is, many of these expenses were clearly allowed....someone had to say yes! My fave was selling the second home...oh, but for capital gains purposes, it was the main home. Cor - having your cake and eating it. Answer me this....if these guys earn SO much money how come you never see a well-dressed, smart female MP?

Rant over - low calorie hot choccy for me

johnworf · 12/05/2009 22:17

JJ glad you all got back unscathed. Isn't there a nice shopping outlet in Bicester? Not far from Oxford (as I recall). Little babies don't do it for me anymore. No idea why. Used to love to coo over them. Think I had it beaten out of me when I was on SCBU with the miniature tiny ones

Mr Patio man has been tonight and dropped off the quote. He might even be able to fit it in next week! That would mean we'd be able to sit out come the NC. How fabby would that be? When I said that to him (almost clapping my hands and doing a little jump of joy) he looked at me as though I was slightly deranged. Doesn't he know that I have no life and that the thought of new stone paving makes my whole year? Anyway I've asked him if he can fit some little solar light around the edges and he said no probs so that'll be nice......if you like that sort of thing.

K has learned to roll right the way over. I found this out when I left her on the middle of our bed to put her clothes in the linen basket and when I came back, she was on her front. I asked DH when he'd put her like that and he claimed innocence. Then we watched her do it again...both bursting with joy as only lunatic parents are at the sight of a baby on it's front.

As for the eating...I've introduced chips to DSS tonight. Big wow you might say ...but these are chips that, in size and shape, he will not normally entertain. One small victory to me Today chips, tomorrow it's the foie gras!

DD#1 is apparently meeting up with some guy she's been chatting to online for a couple of years. He's american. He's coming over here and she wanted my advice - being someone who had an american b/f who I met online. I told her to go for it but only if her gut instinct says it's fine. Cheap holidays for me if I manage to get him to take her off my hands........

Caroline Flint jj ??

On D's nursery book today it said he'd had chicken korma with rice and naan for lunch with lemon sponge pudding and lemon sauce for pudding, and toasted teacakes with butter for tea.

I think they are doing BLW on him. No wonder he won't eat the slop I give him.

Wish I got to eat like that!!

johnworf · 12/05/2009 23:16

haha mrsb. K won't eat mush anymore so I just give her bread, toast, veggies and anything else her little chubby fingers can push in her mouth. I've not consciously gone to BLW but she seems to prefer it. As long as she can grab the food and put it in her own mouth, then she seems to eat it. However, I have to hover making sure she's not choking on it (which she has done a couple of times). Organix do some nice finger food stuff - K likes the gingerbread men and the sweetcorn/carrot puffs

I've been trying to get hold of this today to go over K's NC dress. It's sold out in K's size and the Trafford Centre shop has every size but the one I want. I've contacted their head office and they're going through their stores to find one for me and post it out. Typical isn't it? The one that you want you can't get the size?

Oh btw, White Stuff has 20% off this Thursday.

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 12/05/2009 23:52

oooohhh that is yummy jw I don't think I managed to see the dress you linked..
I hate it when you can't get the size you want! I get all obsessed...

BLW would suit D better as well I'm sure.

LAALALA /fingers in ears /can't hear anything about discounts LALALA

Tee2072 · 13/05/2009 07:45

Morning all.

Second to last day of work. I am still contemplating the throwing up on the keyboard/bursting into tears plan.

mrsb D eats better than I do, that's for sure!

I did ask my boss yesterday if I could hire a housekeeper and expense her. He said sure. But he didn't mean it!

johnworf · 13/05/2009 07:45

mrsb here's the link to the dress. It's already come....however the colours are different. The one in pic looks white/cream but the one that came is a muted gold, much like the cardy. Looks nice though and quite like the gold effect as opposed to plain white traditional dress.

Myself and DH have awake since 6.30am when madam got up. Isn't it lovely when you're lying in a nice warm bed, talking to your OH.....about paving stones?

Throat has eased off this morning. Really did think I was in for a rough one last night when I went to bed as it seemed to get worse.....anyway, had more of my pre/pro biotic tablets and feel fine today Think the're doing the trick!

I have a hair appointment at 10 today. Operation Banish Grey. Actually I could do with a bit of pampering..might cheer me up

tee only 2 days after today to go (that's 2 sleeps left!)

OP posts:
jeanjeannie · 13/05/2009 08:50

Morning.
jw that dress is gorgeous - a great mix of being 'special' but not like a HUGE dolly gown! FAB news on the patio I tell you - I'd be cock-a-hoop. We've got so many weekend commitments, including Verity's birthday, a wedding and camping with the family that we're not going to see a patio for a least another month as DP is working 12 hour days building a lovely organgerie for his 70s pop star
He's knocking himself out in the eves but we need a concrete pump to get the stuff up to the house as it's an 80ft garden. Still, when it's done it'll be nice!

Pleased you're feeling better and have another at the hair appointment. Mine has gone like straw. You'll look gorgeous chuck.

I hear the tee countdown clock ticking....work finishing....baby arriving....OOoooooo, best get knitting!

Wow@ K rolling over - Verity still not doing that - although she is getting much more verbal. Her fave thing is to pick up the phone and say "hello" and then wave at it with the other hand and say "bye bye"

mrsB Ah yes, Caroline Flint - forgot about her - she clearly spends her tax payers' money wisely

I reckon D is hitting that independent phase, where mush is wrong and chewing is good! Verity is very unimpressed with mush. Only time she doesn't mind is in the morning with cereal although this morning she wanted her own spoon - it was a mess I can tell you!

It's pee'ing it down here - sun all gone. Off to play group then painting indoors me thinks this afternoon.

Tee2072 · 13/05/2009 09:22

JW actually only one more sleep, tomorrow is my last day! And gorgeous NC gown. She's going to look like a little princess.

JJ knitting? What is this knitting you speak of?

johnworf · 13/05/2009 09:33

Oh blimey tee that even better news! Didn't know that it was tomorrow. I hope they give you a good send off. You've not had to do your own whip round have you?

Like D and Verity, K will only accept the mush of cereals. She wants her own spoon as well but only to jam it in her mouth while I'm trying to get the mushy stuff in at the same time.

I love the image of Verity on the phone. Wow. You've trained her well....your very own secretary

Who is the 70's pop star your OH is working for (dare I ask)? Would I know him/her?

Do you mean your patio will have a concrete base? Sorry, I have a filthy patio mind at the mo........yes, ours will be based on concrete too. Didn't like the idea of sand and weeds and wobbliness in a few months.

Ok, I'm off to risk the hairdressers now. I say risk as it seems I've swung from constipated to can't get off the loo Fab

Btw mrsb the white stuff discount is for tomorrow only. It's a one day thing....not that I'm trying to tempt you [evil laugh..mwahahahaha]

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 13/05/2009 09:51

JW since I didn't organize my own whip around? I doubt I'll get anything from the office. Maybe flowers when baby comes, if they bother to remember! Well, coworker actually might organize something, since I did for her last year, but I am not counting on it!

Have a great time getting your hair done!

mrsboogie · 13/05/2009 09:57

oooh jw that is beautiful! She is going to look like a princess - I am anticipating the yummy FB pics after the event! Hope you get the shrug.

Also we must have a pic of the grey -free bonce!

By the time we got to the nursery this mornig D was ready for his nap - so e handed him over and there he was nestled on the shoulder of his keyworker with her kissing him and cooing. I felt right jealous leavng him there.

Ohh and he slept from 11pm til 5am - yay!

Have a fab second to last day tee not long now! just sit about and take it easy...

jeanjeannie · 13/05/2009 12:39

Back from playgroup - am zonked!
tee put buntings up around your desk, blow up a few balloons....maybe make yourself a goody bag Oh, it's so close you can smell it!!

jw NO, don't tell me about White Stuff....I'm an adddict you know

Hope hair looks glossy and sleek!

The 70s pop star is NOT in the A list....or B...or C....more like around U or V! They had a hit called Girls, Girls, Girls...which I sadly remember

Well, Iris's autism assessment date came through - June 4th. However it says that it's a paed coming here to see her rather than the full works over at the hospital I was told it would be. Plus it's at 2pm - so that's not great, as if she has a late nap, it'll be a disaster! So, we'll see how it goes.

Good news on the sleep front MrsB

heron22 · 13/05/2009 14:22

hi all hope everyone is doing ok. it is dark and grey here. have to go to postoffice and run some errands. so not want to do it!
i am a bit moody today. not sure why, cant blame it on PMT cos AF has not visited me yet as i am still BF.

jeanjeannie · 13/05/2009 15:05

Ah heron I wonder if it's around the time AF is due? Just that I started getting that a few months before my period started (when DD2 was 6 mths) and I'm still BF...and now my PMT is vile

Video, video news. OOooo, I managed to upload a small video done on my little camera onto Facebook, so if anyone is on my friends list then have a look...it's tres sweet. It's Verity being a little performing monkey!! I'm going to try and put it somewhere so I can post a link - not feeling V technical today!!

jw is the hair a roaring success?

hedgepig · 13/05/2009 15:21

afternoon, JW I finally managed to look at Ks video, sob sob snif what a star. Ollie was very impressed and waved his arms around n an excited baby manner. Splendid on the rolling front too.
MrsB does your nursery do take outs?

I have popped into work this morning just to wave the baby at thm and remind them I am alive. Aparently the automated HR system run from germany is saying I have 35 days hol to take between Sept and December when I get bck, I think it is a mistake as I only have 27 days leave a year but it is worrying my boss a lot

johnworf · 13/05/2009 15:45

Hi all. Just a quicky. Got 2/3 of the older ones here today for tea.

tee I'd be really fed up if they didn't even both with a small something and a card. Hell girl, you're worth it and more!

mrsb I wouldn't worry about D cuddling up to the nursery nurse. It's probably cupboard love or something. It's you he wants when he cries...and well done D on the sleeping! Woo Hoo!

Jj I'm going to try and catch your little video of Iris this evening when everyone has either gone home or gone to bed Don't start fretting over the assessment and nap times. I'm sure that the healthcare professional will be used to naptimes etc. Chill out.

hedgepig sssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh take the holidays and run! Glad O liked the video.

JJ are we talking Sailor?

Hair is indeed lovely I've had red streaks put in it and had the ends razored. I'll post a pic if I get the time. Booked in to have it blown the morning of the NC and a mani/pedi the day before! Oh yay to me for pampering myself. Well if I don't no bugger else will do it.

New LK Bennett shoes came and both DH and DS#2 laughed at the pointiness of them What do they know about women's shoes anyway............?

BBL xx

hullo all

jj will have a look at said vid later tonight

jw hair sounds fab - must see pic

hedgepig if the computer says it, it must be true! its fab that all your leave keeps clocking up while you are on M/L. I have 14 days left from last year and my new leave year starts in June!

speaking of work hedgepig I think I am meeting said boss next week...

Tee2072 · 13/05/2009 15:53

JW I am so angry at my office today, I honestly don't know if I could be gracious in accepting a gift from them. I am taking this leave right on time. Any longer here and I might actually tell upper management what I think of them and get my ass fired. Yes, I was looking for a new job before I became pregnant.

whew I feel better now.

Tee2072 · 13/05/2009 15:55

JJ are you on my friends list? I'm having a total real name mind melt!!

mrsboogie · 13/05/2009 16:07

what have they done tee?

heron22 · 13/05/2009 17:01

just got back from the postoffice. i hate going there! it is like going through the seven gates of hell! the people working there all look so miserable. and i dont blame them one bit.

need a strong cuppa and a nice slice of cake to brighten me up! who says cake is not a cure-all?!

heron22 · 13/05/2009 17:09

jw too true what would men know about shoes? ignore them
