Hello everyone - yet another thread. I'm expecting a call anyday soon from ITV - as I imagine we'll be prime candidates for taking over the Loose Women slot when they need a break

So, for anyone interested in joining in with us - just jump in and say Hi - we don't bite - unless you're disguised as a chocolate sponge cake

Ladies..................Take it away

OOoh errr ermintrude. Is this pregnancy sicky or the horrid bug sicky? I so don't miss preggie sickness. Not sure that medicinal donuts are a good idea tbh.

That egg looks divine but fatal. Not even I could eat all of that. Methinks your blood sugars would go into orbit tee if you had a fraction of it!

triggles fabulous! A boy!!! Congrats. Glad that all went well - well, mostly. Hopefully mine will all be well too and we'll have a full house

FloriaTosca · 23/03/2009 16:58

triggles what lovely news I'm relieved for you...
ermintrude commisserations.. not the way you want to finish mothers day.
teethe seriously dark one is mine!

..got to go to Mums now..she got everything in for my birthday dinner tonight but has developed bercitis of the kneeand can't stand to prepare it or bend it enough get into a car... so I'm going there to cook my own dinner party lol!!!!

Tee2072 · 23/03/2009 17:34

tiggles yayay a little boy! Hope the next scan is easier!

JW just looking at that drove up my sugars, I think.

ermintrude Oh noes! Sorry to hear about the great vomit incident. Hope you feel better!

ermintrude13 · 23/03/2009 17:48

It's pregnancy vomiting, hence there are no accompanying stomach gripes or toilet time, and also hence my ability to eat donuts today. Every cloud....

Happy birthday floriatosca! Is that a fancy name for housemaid's knee?

johnworf · 23/03/2009 17:55

Blimey floria you kept your b'day quiet. Many happy returns dear.

I'll buy you a coffee tomorrow AND a cake to celebrate

Tee2072 · 23/03/2009 17:57

Happy birthday floria!!

Triggles · 23/03/2009 18:17

Heh - I did have an argument with the diabetic team (and I mean TEAM). I got the letter saying appointment with the consultant - then I go in and there's 4 of them, with me in a chair across from them all, looking through my chart/notes "hmmmm"ing importantly. The first thing they said was "Your blood sugars are looking very good." Then "Why are you only testing 4 times per day?" So I explained that 6 times at present was really difficult for me, and since the levels are perfectly fine, 4 times per day is perfectly adequate. So they started in on this big lecture about 6 times per day being "the gold standard" and that I shouldn't complain about it as some women were testing 9 and 10 times per day . So I calmly said "did you not just say my levels are good?" consultant says "yesssss" rather slowly. "So as long as they are good, then I will continue to test 4x per day. If and when they begin to creep upwards, then I will re-evaluate the 6x per day at that time. There is nothing that deems it medically necessary for me to test any more frequently than I currently am testing." I was pretty annoyed by this time, but was very polite about it. I felt like I was unexpectedly placed in front of a firing squad like that. Then they told me 3 x to change my morning cornflakes to special K. WHY?? my sugars are FINE in the morning! I swear they must own stock in the company or something!

Triggles · 23/03/2009 18:18

I also pointed out that 6 times per day is hardly accurate when they only want you to do that 3 days per week. How many people do you think are very careful on those 3 test days and not as much on non-test days??

Tee2072 · 23/03/2009 18:26

Next time tell them that Special K has more sugar than cornflakes...or if not more, than an equal amount! All cereal is high in sugar!

Tabitha8 · 23/03/2009 18:52

Happy birthday Floria and congratulations Triggles on the scan. Hopefully, the LO will be more cooperative next time.
As for a one hour labour, Tee, these may be booked in advance. You are not too late. I've booked mine .

hedgepig · 23/03/2009 20:09

Happy Birthday to you Floria la la la (sorry for the bad singing but it is very enthusiastically sung ) Floria. Jw do I take it that you and Floria are meeting under the underpass to hand over the Bumbo??

Triggles well done on making your point to the consultant, sometimes I think they get carried away thinking you whole purpose in life is to give them data! well done on the scan and you get another scan to so you get to see the LO again, hurrah.

Tee that choccie looks fab, although I never look a Hotel Chocolate with such dewy eyes now I have found it is made in Royston which is a rather dull town not too far from where I live (and you don't get a locals discount either) .

Neddie · 24/03/2009 07:41

Well done on your scan Triggles- how soon can they tell what sex the baby is? I am going for a 16 week scan in 2 weeks- I would like to know especially as there are 2 of the little sweeties.

johnworf · 24/03/2009 08:42

hedgepig yes, I'm meeting floria today. We're both wearing trench coats, trilbey's and carrying a black attache case. Not sure how she'll squash the Bumbo into the case though

Nothing of note to report from Worf Towers today. Out with all the children and DH tonight for DS#1's 20th birthday/mother's day (belated) meal. Should be fun having the rabble together. The older ones will no doubt regress to being 5 again and counting the peas on each others plates

Wonder how floria's birthday meal was? Cooked by her own fair hands too! Will find out later no doubt

Tee2072 · 24/03/2009 09:32

Morning All!

Today is my DH's birthday as well, JW. We started the day with presents. Big Seeing as he's 35 going on 12 he received a big hardcover comic, an XBox game and a set of Doctor Who Action Figures. He was very pleased!

In other news, my SIL's wedding is going to be in a UK wedding magazine call Perfect Weddings! They were married in Tuscany last September. You can also see some of the wedding pictures here!

I have actually had a real nights sleep, thanks to kicking DH to the spare room. If this keeps up I might even feel human soon. And then the baby will come.

mrsboogie · 24/03/2009 10:09

morning all!

Haha tee shagged senseles by a smooth legged minx one night then booted out to the spare room the next - that'll keep him on his toes

That's one pretty looking wedding!

Happy Birthday Floria

jj you still in a heap after yesterday?

Ooooh err I have a rash one on leg - either my warnings to OH about defleaing that bloody cat have come too late or I am bout to beset by some new health irritations, time will tell...

/scratches

jeanjeannie · 24/03/2009 10:13

Morning all. Just rushing by to say HELLO! Not managed to catch up I'm afraid as we got in very late last night - went to bed - all slept in late and now my stomach is off again Need to get the girls sorted, washing done and verity's bum is also back on 'Explosive' Mode

Funeral went well. The girls were so well behaved and made everyone smile. Skirt looked great too

tiggles what brilliant news - I'm thrilled

floria Hope b'day was lovely and you don't look a day older and have fun with jw at the Bumbo exchange

Catch up later xx

tee lovely pics and I really like her dress - although I've never had a 'real' wedding dress as they're really just so not me. I take it that the bride is your DH's sister then?

The presents, well, ahem, wouldn't be out of place for someone 20-25 years younger?

It's not my DS#1's birthday until Saturday 28th tee but he's far too busy with his friends on that day. I shall remind him tonight of the agony of his induced 3 hour labour though....not that he's the slightest bit impressed nor guilty...I can't even embarrass him with it anymore. Sigh.

I have got him a caterpillar cake though which should embarrass him with a bit of luck!

mrsboogie · 24/03/2009 10:29

My OH quite often enjoys similar type presents - he cannot wait until D is old enough to play with lego - so that he can play too. It seems that men are no longer inhibited about pandering to their inner child.

BonzoDoodah · 24/03/2009 10:34

Triggles congrats on the boy - exciting times. But the "comittee" meeting of consultants ia a bit much. And why the pig do they like rice crispies?? FFS! Nonsense.

Tee drooool ... I want [http://www.hotelchocolat.co.uk/src/egg109/Chocolate-Eggs-P450109/ this] but int he ostrich size of course! [heads for chocolate machine]
And oh my god how gorgeous is that wedding??And the bride is beautiful!

jw keeping hoping all is well for you.

Tee2072 · 24/03/2009 10:36

Yes, she is DH's sister, JW. And also, yes, that's why I call him 35 going on 12! But if it makes him happy...

I know mrsb aren't I horrible?

BonzoDoodah · 24/03/2009 11:23

Tee my sister and I have just spent the last half hour emailing pages from Hotel Chocolate back and forward saying "NEED" and "wants" etc. Dribble all over the keyboard here and it's your fault

I went for my second scan yesterday as last time they couldn't see all the spine. All was well. I then went to see the consultant to talk about the last birth. Well .... she looked at my notes and said" oh that's a big head". DD's head circumference was 39cm. Consultant said the largest head she's delivered was 40!!! (Average 32-34). I'm thinking I'm glad I had a CS as I may have been walking like John Wayne for a year!.
So we're going to have a scan at 36 weeks with this one to see its head size. And really - if it is the same size as M (or bigger) ... it looks like a VBAC is out of the window. Don't want another CS but then I don't want to be known as TennaLady from that day forth either!

Tee2072 · 24/03/2009 11:43

I am so so sorry bonzo. Okay, that was a lie.

Glad you scan went well!

hedgepig · 24/03/2009 12:30

lovely wedding pics Tee I love the flowers.
JJ sorry about the bottoms , I'm glad the funeral went as well as these things can go.
JW & Floria try not to get arrested for looking dodgy and handing over "goods".
Just been to playgroup and O is asleep hurrah, shall I have lunch or clean the bathroom (its a hard decision )

jeanjeannie · 24/03/2009 12:41

What a day - picture a frazzled, knackered out 40+ mum - and that's me

tee just looked at the pics - wow - what a fabulous wedding - moi enovious? .....

speaking of Tena ladies and such - have been reading another thread about orgasms after birth etc and someone mentioned a kegel pelvic floor exerciser - anyone got any experience of such implements? I have been trying to do my pelvic floors especially after the forceps delivery etc the constant colds are a good reminder ) but if I had a gadget I might be more inclined...
