Yet ANOTHER thread. Like it says - those of you who've waved bye bye to 39 come and say Hi to us instead.

We think that 40 is the new 20, cyber cake is the new weight-watchers and older mums rock

So, if you fit that description come and play with us. We like cake, gossip an occasional luke warm debate and a good moan! Oh and we're also very friendly and supportive!

OK everyone.....take it away x

I must be pregnant...Ferrero Roche on toast sounds really nice!!

Okay, who the heck is Samantha? Sometimes I have no idea who/what you people are talking about!

hedgepig · 25/02/2009 20:30

most of the time neither do we Tee

mrsboogie · 25/02/2009 20:49

ah yes I have seen the Nutella ads with great emphasis placed upon the fact that they contain MILK!, just didn't realise it was in quite the same league as turkey twizzlers and Sunny D. I'm sure I purchased some when I was pg as I thought I had od'd on peanut butter at one point. Probably still in the cupboard.

Damn, I wish I hadn't remembered that... am v hungry.

hedgepig · 25/02/2009 20:55

step away from the Nutella MrsB, have a nice glass of water & some grapes instead,
says she wiping chocolate biscuit crumbs from her mouth woopppps (I was just making sure they hadn't gone off)

mrsboogie · 25/02/2009 20:57

watching Masterchef as well, as if I wasn't hungry enough...

jeanjeannie · 25/02/2009 21:01

Whatever happened to Sunny D - first it was all the rage - the 'must-have' beverage for the discerning chavster and then....gone
Perhaps it was all a dream.

Pah to Location - it was a repeat That's 'not on' for a new series. So switched over for the Masterchef final - only to find it's the actual final tomorrow...MMmmm

hedgepig I just fancy a biccie - *picks up the crumbs...

Tee2072 · 25/02/2009 21:11

okay, no talking about Masterchef! I watch the night before ep On Demand while I eat dinner! So I haven't seen tonight's and if anyone tells me tomorrow night who won, before I can watch it on Friday, heads will roll!!

johnworf · 25/02/2009 21:13

I think you can still get Sunny D but only in selective classy outlets such as Iceland. I've tasted it...it makes your eyes swivel around in different directions like Space Dust from the late 70's did.

I'm off all food that is nice Oh, I wish I could eat chocolate I so miss it after just one day. Sob. Nothing to report from the bottom front so far. Crikey, I saw that you can buy this stuff from boots (with a private consultation natch $$$$$$$$) and for the box I've got (free I might add) it's £125 I should be stood on Bury market shaking the packet and crying 'come and get your fat tabs....only thruppence a go'.

Finally got to read the full interview of Jade Tweed nee Goody. Sad affair. Inane questions such as 'are you scared of dying?' 'Jack, what did you do when jade told you she was dying?' Jade replies 'he lay on the bed sobbing telling me he'd make me better'................etc. Me and DH can't make our minds up whether she looks like one of the characters from Star Trek with her bald head or a shop front mannequin. I don't mean that in a bitchy way but with the make up, that's what she comes across as.

Virgin + Keven and his verbosity. Love him still

johnworf · 25/02/2009 21:16

tee I already know who won........it was the butler, in the library with the candlestick. Is that the right answer?

Btw John Torrode looks a dog these days. I remember when he used to grace This Morning and he was lush.....now he's gone to seed

strikes him off her shag list with a red pen

ermintrude13 · 25/02/2009 21:30

Didn't Sunny D contain chicken fat, like McDonald's milkshakes?

Tee I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue: 40 yr old BBC Radio 4 comedy panel show hosted from the beginning by the late Humphrey Carpenter, who was also a jazz trumpeter, and featuring inanely British forms of games like 'Sound Charades' 'One Song to the Tune of Another' and the infamous 'Mornington Crescent'. Relies on many in-jokes developed over time, including the appearance of 'the lovely Samantha' who used to sit on Humph's right hand and score. And of course wasn't really there. When wrapping up Humph would always say, with perfect innocence, some absolutely filthy innuendo about where she'd gone with her latest 'gentleman friend'. I'd strongly recommend checking out the archives to get a flavour. You'll just think we're being very silly to like it though, if not actually insane

johnworf · 25/02/2009 21:34

ermintrude who is Humphrey carpenter? Don't you mean Lyttleton?

johnworf · 25/02/2009 21:35

Yes tee and don't try and work out the rules to any of the games like Chedder Gorge or Mornington Crescent as there aren't any

Confused? You will be.

ermintrude13 · 25/02/2009 21:40

ha ha, humphrey carpenter is some old sausage who used to run the cheltenham literary festival. i AM insane

hedgepig · 25/02/2009 21:41

JJ surely Sunny D has now been replaced by fruit shoots.
I'm off to bed I will get at least and hr before Lord O calls, night night all

johnworf · 25/02/2009 21:43

hehe ermintrude We know!

Night hedgepig Hope O shuts his eyes for a few hours.

Kaz1967 · 25/02/2009 21:48

Sorry girls I am shattered Kez is waking in the night and feeding again (for last week) I have been shopping managed to put it way and have cooked my self a steak sandwich drunk couple glasses of wine and I cannot read a thing now think I will follow Kez to bed vert soon hope everyone is ok

BonzoDoodah · 25/02/2009 22:29

Can I just add my voice to that of killing chastizing anyone who discusses the masterchef final before friday ... going for a lovely meal out with the NCT parent I met when having DD. And found out last week that out of 6 of us ... three are preggers gain. Two of us in the same week... Brilliant!

FloriaTosca · 25/02/2009 22:50

Hi All!
It just took me hours to catch up and now I cant remember any of it ...I do remember the good news about Elizabeth doing brilliantly and the general chat about HVs which made me thank heavens for mine, who was lovely. Sympathies Kez and everyone else lacking sleep...Alex has only just returned to a 2 wake up a night strategy...it is a stage it will pass...
..oops spoke too soon..he is stirring looks like more than twice tonight then

Tee2072 · 26/02/2009 08:03

JW I already know what Mornington Crescent is about! I've actually played it once! Silly game!

I must say, I am so enjoying the getting up at 3:30 for a wee and not getting back to sleep for an hour or so part of my pregnancy. Oh and the my rings are starting to get tight part. Both of those are very enjoyable. [sarcastic face]

And, apparently, we all should have gone into banking. £600k pension?!?!?!?

BonzoDoodah · 26/02/2009 10:25

Ahh Tee my wedding ring has been on the bedside table for about a month now. Not got to the night-pee stage yet - but I remember last time being awake for that hour. Really frustrating when you're shattered. I usually ended up going downstairs for a cup of tea (decaf) and mooching about for a bit - made my body realise going back to bed was something different and helped getting abck to sleep. The joys eh!

What is it with this thread? Yesterday there were about 3000 posts before lunch and it took me an hour to catch up ... today everyone is missing?

Heeeellllllllllooooooooooooooooooooooo?????

FloriaTosca · 26/02/2009 10:50

Hello!
Is everyone on strike?
I have been fighting a nasty virus and drinking lots of extra water to wash it out so I'm up at the same time ...though I must admit getting back to sleep isnt a problem for me, 17 months of getting up at least twice a night exhausts programmes you to fall asleep anytime/anywhere you get the chance....perhaps this is natures way of preparing you for an Alex in your life?

duchesse · 26/02/2009 12:31

Nah, not on strike, just very busy with too much work on too short a deadline... Needs must! I'm lucky to have work at all...

jeanjeannie · 26/02/2009 12:39

Morning - afternoon - whatever!

Gosh - it is quiet - thank goodness, I thought I'd be reading 10 pages.

Been to playgroup and the talk is of schools and how none of the good ones took any kids out of catchment - so we've decided to go down the faith route ....eek! Lots of grumpy faces and it seems there has been a great swamp from independent to state - so we have NO hope of our school of choice Decides on outfit for christening...OOooo, seen something lovely in LK Bennet of all places

floria sorry you've been fighting off a bug - and I think Verity is following Alex....Ggrrrrrr....three times last night

I promise to everyone that I shan't mention Masterchef....honest!

Busy afternoon so check in later x

JJ I love LK Bennett stuff but it's £££££££!

So which faith have you settled on for the LO's?

floria I think all the children on here (well most, certainly) have been a poorly. DSS has just gone back to school today after tonsillitis for 2 weeks and he's still on the penicillin.

Had my hair done and I'm grey free! Omfg I feel 10 years younger. I'm never gonna concede to old age at this rate. Whatever next? I'm thinking leg warmers for my 60th birthday or possibly my navel pierced

Busy afternoon here too. DH is doing a new website so it's profanity a go-go. Plus the plasterer is coming tomorrow so I'm going to start emptying the room and taking pictures down etc in readiness. Can't wait to scale fluff mountain under the sofa

Anyone see Tamara Beckwith's new sprog? Blimey. Her gap is almost as big as mine!

Kaz1967 · 26/02/2009 13:35

Thanks Floria it is a tempory thing I hope last night she woke at midnight and 6 rather than midnight, 2,4 and 6
but I am hanging and she is tired to I was so tired at 8 this morning I stuck a boob in her mouth rather than getting up and giving her breakfast and we both fell back to sleep me until 9 her until half past so managed to get up and dressed and had to have her breakfast at the church coffee. She also nearly fell asleep in her lunch poor thing so is in bed snoring now.
