Hi,
I've been feeling a bit 'off' for a few days so I decided to do a pregnancy test this morning. I've been pregnant before and these symptoms are very similar (I've also felt preg before but not been!).
Anyway I did a test when i woke up and after a few mins it was negative but I didnt study it for long as I was tired and went back to sleep! Well when I woke up about half an hour later there was a very faint line on the test. I know that you shouldn't read the test after a certain length of time but I've done many tests over the years and this hasn't happened before.
If I have conceived it's just about two weeks ago when it could have happened (wink) so this is the earliest it would show.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
Thanks Sarah x

Hi,
The test I use are professional tests - the kind used in the medical profession - the only reason they are cheap is because ebayer's buy them in bulk and you are not paying for the name like you do with clearblue and the others.
I'm not sure what a lot of these abbreviations mean and I haven't a clue what a POAS is!
Anyway the test is negative - so I have to find another cause for my increasingly sore boobs and my morning nausia!
Thanks for listening.

Has anyone ever re-used a pregnancy test?

Don't think it would work.

I have taken four tests (2 yesterday and two today) The tests are very sensitive (10). I am a day late now comming upto two days late and normally very regular. All four tests showed a very very faint line but I am now confused as you have mentioned evap lines. Am I pregnant ? Any ideas ????

lulumama · 11/05/2007 12:08

you cannot reuse a pregnancy test

lulumama · 11/05/2007 12:11

this thread is 2 years old! i have just answered a two year old question about pregnancy tests!

helelle..if you got a faint positive, it is still a positive...read the instructions and look at the pics...

LadyOfTheFlowers · 11/05/2007 12:12

you cannot reuse a test.
a predictor would be fine.
as would clearblue, first response and even boots own ones.
if you can afford it get a digital one.
'pregnant' / 'not pregnant'
brilliant!

LadyOfTheFlowers · 11/05/2007 12:13

oh yeah!

LadyOfTheFlowers · 11/05/2007 12:15

what lulu said.
a line is a line.
take a pic and add it to your profile or something so we can see!

Get some from ebay. They sell them for about £2.50 for these little strips that you pee on and then lines appear. It's like a proper pg test but without all the fancy plastic.

I did one Boots own test and one of these tests from ebay and both came up positive. The ebay ones were super sensitive too.

Much cheaper than any shop bought ones and the packaging is discreet, as well as being a "private" auction which means no one can see what you've bought!

helelle · 11/05/2007 12:16

Hi I know you can't re-use tests and havent. These are all new individual tests but all show the same very faint line. I bought these tests of ebay and they are called on-line so something? They didn't come with any instructions execpt if you get two lines it means pregnant. I just worried now about whether they are evap lines but they appeared within a couple of minutes. Help?

lulumama · 11/05/2007 12:18

i guess 4 faint lines means you are pregnant

re the resuing tests..was answering the question below yours!!

fruitful · 11/05/2007 12:20

Did the line come up within the 10 minutes or whatever time the instructions say?

Is the line coloured (pink, blue, whatever the control line is)?

A very very faint squint-at-it-in-a-bright-light line that is basically grey, may be an evaporation line. Especially if it doesn't show till 15 minutes. I've had these and not been pg.

helelle · 11/05/2007 12:24

The line showed after 1 min to 2 mins.

Princesspowersparkle · 11/05/2007 12:25

Sounds PG to me! Congrats!

snowpatrol · 13/05/2007 19:23

Hi Lorraine, i don't usually post on here either - but saw your message and you are in a similar situation to me. I have 2 girls and 1 boy from my first husband and am currently expecting my first baby with my new husband. Hope you turn out to be pregnant too, are you going to do another test? Have you missed a period yet or is it still too early?

kirstylambbarrow · 17/05/2007 22:39

going through the same thing now after miscarrying twins about 8weeks ago. faint line sometimes but other tests nothing! Heads soooo messed up!

Kimblebee · 28/06/2007 13:18

Hi all, I've never been broody in my life, never wanted kids but about 2 weeks ago, I woke up with the overwhelming urge to reproduce! Had a random bit of pinky-brown blood so came off the pill ealry for my 7 day break. I've done about 7 pregnancy tests (I work in a medical centre so was just doing them at work) and they were all negative. I felt rough yesterday so called in sick at work, and same again this morning. My husband breathed on me with his morning breath and I just puked. It never normally bothers me. I did 2 pregnancy tests this morning and there was a faint and I mena faint to the point of non-existent on the stick. Have decided to do another one on Monday (today is Thursday) and see what it says. My boobs hurt but I don't hink I'm peeing more then ususal and I'm not craving and I'm not really feeling sick, just generally under the weather and knackered all the time. So, what's people's opinion? Am I preggers or not? Confused! -x-

bluebell82 · 28/06/2007 17:38

KIMBLEBEE- i would wait until Monday because you will drive yourself insane if not..weeing is a lot of rubbish in my opinion I am 10 weeks and not weeing a lot to be honest but I do have a retriverted uterus so it would not push on my bladder as much -ithink-! Fingers crossed, I had a very positive BFP 7 dpo, I shouldn't have tested that early but I knew deep down that I was preg, got stronger every day and got it confirmed att he doctor.. I was like you with the urge, my dad dies 2 years ago and the the morning after I found out the awful news, the urge to reproduce was overwhelming and here we are today! Good Luck, let us know!
