Come join our merry (talkative) band of ladies who lunch - feel sick - are getting fatter - sleep deprived or run off their feet with babies! Some of us suffer all of the above - while trying to retain an air of calm and mystery

All we ask is you play nicely, eat cake and indulge in the occasional gossip and moan about our ills....or anything else that we can think of.

We're like grumpy old women....only not so grumpy...

oh and Lilly Allen - saw her live at the V-festival and it was great music to dance around too - really happy and bouncy. Wouldn't necessarily buy any of it but good live.

Tee2072 · 02/02/2009 16:06

JJ too cute for words. Although Verity has that classic 'too wrapped up to move' look!

My CEO just gave me contingency plans for tomorrow, as he is convinced the snow will hit us tomorrow. I hated to burst his bubble, but all the websites say maybe some rain!

jeanjeannie · 02/02/2009 16:36

Hahaha I know tee that always makes me laugh...warm but stiff as a board through way too many cumbersome layers

Did your CEO's plans include getting out the wellies and umbrella to battle that drizzle?!

johnworf · 02/02/2009 17:49

JJ the girls look adorable. Little snow bunnies indeed

Kaz1967 · 02/02/2009 20:27

Hellooooo everyone I am back it's gonna take me some time to catch up. Can anyone give me a run down of what has happened for the last 5 months or so LOL

johnworf · 02/02/2009 20:29

kaz in a nut shell...bugger all!

Anyway, hows you? Where you been? How is Kezzy????

We've got a good mix on here of popped and plumped up. No point in going through what we've talked about as most of it is drivel....

Glad to see you back though

mrsboogie · 02/02/2009 20:50

welcome back Kaz - how are you? we have missed you. How is little Kezzie?

mrsboogie · 02/02/2009 20:51

oooh jj fabulous photos of the girls!

Kaz1967 · 02/02/2009 22:02

Kezzy is becoming a real whopper her birth weight was 6lb 8 1/2oz (2.96kg) she is now 17lb 12oz (8.06kg) at 6 weeks she was 1ft 10in (56cm) she is now 2ft 4in (70cm) I am gonna be standing on a chair to tell her off LOL

She is on 3 meals a day plus boob, getting quite vocal with shrieks (at the snow today) and babbling (I am sure she said yum yum at breakfast on Friday), crawls backwards, shuffles sideways, turns in circles and rolls to where she wants to go. She is desperately trying to walk and wants to stand all the time. Gives wet sloppy kisses, smiles at everyone and rarely cries as long as I am within site (yep we have got to that stage) She point blank refuses to sit on her own though and still wakes in the night for a feed most nights but I love her to bits.

Kezzy has a better social life than me, we go to bumps and babes on a Monday, musical totz and breastfeeding support on a Wed, Coffee at the church (she delights all the ladies and gents there lol) baby peep on a Thurs, and church on a Sunday where everyone comes up and tells me how good she is and talks to her while she rolls on the floor and I have coffee afterwards, we have Sunday lunch in the local pub and again everyone says hello to her and she munches her lunch and smiles. Tues and/or Fri we visit one of her friends in the village.

writing that down makes me feel shattered LOL

mrsboogie · 02/02/2009 22:28

Good God Kaz - I am knackered just reading it1 Well sounds like she is thriving - you must be doing something right! How old is she now? sorry I have lost track.

Kaz1967 · 03/02/2009 05:38

7 months can hardly believe it

johnworf · 03/02/2009 07:44

The time certainly has gone quickly. Seems like only yesterday we were all on this (infant) thread moaning about our aches and pains...oh wait, it was only yesterday

Sounds like she's doing wonderfully Kaz. And yes, she's never at home from the sounds of it. Preparing you for her teenage years already

DH is full of the dreaded lurgy today and my throat is starting to go. Hopefully I'll be able to dose myself up so that at least one of us is functioning. K slept ok through the night and the snot is abating slightly. No hospitals this week as I've cancelled the 3 appointments we had. No snow today but what mush was left from y'day has now frozen so I'll need ice skates to get to school It's bitterly cold outside as well.

Anyone fairing any better?

Tee2072 · 03/02/2009 07:54

We still have no snow. So much for the CEO's 'OMG ITS GONNA SNOW' plans.

Glad K is feeling some better JW and hope you fight it off!

Hi Kaz, I'm new around here, and just a baby, not 40 until the day after tomorrow! My first actual baby is due in June! What an active little girl you have!

hedgepig · 03/02/2009 09:57

hi KAZ lovely to see you back and Kezzy sounds like she is keeping you on your toes, she look very cute in her pictures. what has happened in the past 5 months???? I'm sure lost of stuff but my brain is so befuddled with sleep deprivation that I can't remember anything.... there was definitely CAKE!

JW my DH is also lying in bed with lurgy I have to go an forage for more lemsips soon.

mrsboogie · 03/02/2009 10:26

morning all

Conditions not too bad here..

I weighed myself today and as I expected have regained one pound - that'll be the wine last weekend No more of that for me!

Oh and fab news Mr D slept from 10pm to 6.30! then after a quick bottle he want back down til 89.30!

hurrah, must go he calls

johnworf · 03/02/2009 10:33

89.30???

I bought the whole of boots chemist for DH y'day hedgepig

mrsboogie · 03/02/2009 10:38

err 9.30 sorry! had to type fast as he was wailing!

jeanjeannie · 03/02/2009 12:46

KAZ!!! You're back! OMG - Kezzy sounds like she's doing amazingly but Im thrilled to hear I'm not the only one still getting up in the night to placate with a bit of boobie I'm assuming the move all went well?

I think of you every Friday morning as i drop Iris off a nursery.....she's a Manor Farm...your old stomping ground! Verity is doing well - some pics on my profile - although she sounds a bit of a lazy bones compared to Kezzy as she like to just sit, shriek and chew things!

jw sorry your DH has lurgy - and yours too hedgepig We're all just getting over our snot-fest. Braved the roads to the new soft play place this morning - it was a good call as apart from our road everywhere is clear and and the sun is shining!

Oh wow - just as I wrote that past paragraph - the heavens have opened and snow coming down everywhere!!

We're going to make interesting things out of paper plates this afternoon - I think it'll be a chicken and a clock

Wouldn't waste too much sympathy on DH. He's wrung all of my sympathy dry by staying in bed until the very last minute before DSS went to school. Meanwhile, downstairs in the real world, DSS mithering me as to where his shoes were, K screaming in the background, I foot on the washing machine door putting the nappies in, and making sure the printer isn't spewing my orders all over the floor Who said it's great being at home? It all eased off though around about 8.50am when DSS finally got out of the door to school

I've phoned SCBU today just to check that I'm doing the right things with the snotmeister and that they don't need to look her over. Apparently not only am I doing all the right things, I received a pat on the back from Sister Jackie for managing to keep K out of hospital for all this time Well done me.

Ok, stuff the real world and zoom over to more important matters on planet celeb, Claire the mousewife from corrie has lost over 3 stone since she popped. Makes me sick And what's that old geezer Tony Robinson up to now? That woman looks like his granddaughter. If he wasn't famous there's just no way on this earth. Eugh.

jeanjeannie · 03/02/2009 13:26

Oh the real world of DM gossip

Well, I think Posh looks like a close up pic of a fly in those glasses....but isn't the eldest boy handsome!

That girl from Corrie...7st something And she can shut up about her flat stomach

Poor old Phil - Location- Spencer....business going down the pan by the looks of it. See, he believed his own hype about property always going up....whooops!

Well done jw for keeping K out of hospital. She does look so blinkin healthy and bonny

OP posts:
johnworf · 03/02/2009 13:56

JJ saw the phil spencer story. He needs a kick up the bum from Kirsty

haha @ fly. I think the older of her boys looks very much like his dad. And the other in the pic (the middle one?) looks like his mum. Both cute little boys though. However, who takes their kids out wearing 5" heels? I struggle taking the pram out in my flat Clarks ones in this weather!

Got the humidifier set up in K's room. That along with the Olbas Oil on Mr Bunny. It's emergency ward 10

jeanjeannie · 03/02/2009 16:08

LOL@ emergency ward 10 - have visions of your baby monitor crackling into life..."paging Dr Johnworf, Paging Dr Johnworf" and you storming along the hallway, white coat sweeping behind you

Oh God, 5inch heels...purlesse! I looked at the style and beauty board the other day and one of the questions was "would you dare go out without make-up?" Hahahahah holding my sides laughing I was. Who has time to think of make-up with two kids under 2.5 in tow?

We have an anti-social behaviour situation going on today Just had rapid response email reply to a rant i sent to our local councillor! I have no idea why it's just the council kids that do it - I mean none of us are rich on this street but their mentality is almost below zero - and then we saw the mother...... still in her jim-jams - fag on and can in hand. Nice. Trouble is I don't want them getting their sort-after prize....an ASBO...turns out it's the thing to have. They're as 'de riguer' as a Mulberry handbag

OP posts:
johnworf · 03/02/2009 16:21

OMG JJ what an awful situation to be in. Not very nice either to live with 'those sorts' either. Oh no, I'm having a DM moment again I can just picture her - gah! Walking the streets in pyjamas too.....it's deja vu time for me. Sounds just like DSS's mother. Like you say an ASBO is almost a trophy these days. I do believe I am living in close proximity to ASBO central i.e. Manchester. It's number one in the ASBO league (if there ever was such a thing). No ASBO's here though unless the old dears on either side have been holding those swingers parties again Anyway, hope you sort it out soon.

I'm loving the image of me and the pager I don't have a white coat so I'll improvise with my pinnie

Ok, I'm asking myself the question 'would I go out without makeup'...hmm....let me see. Yep. I would and I do. And some days I go out without combing my hair. And some days I have to put the key back in the lock and go upstairs and brush my teeth for fear of scaring small children and animals. I hasten to add I never go out in my pj's though............

Tee2072 · 03/02/2009 17:05

Afternoon, ladies with babies!

Had my scan. All baby parts are exactly where they should be! whew

hedgepig · 03/02/2009 17:20

well done baby Tee who's a clever baby then

OMG I just realized I put some rubbish in the bin on Friday am dressed in my jimmies (with a coat over the top) and I never put make up on...I hang my head in shame. I must find some 5inch heels in a size 9
