oooh, I do love a new thread

OP posts:
tattifer · 19/03/2009 09:33

Depression is a horrible thing for a family to have to live with. If you're lucky you've only got two versions of the same person walking around. More often though it's a case who the hell am I going to be living with today?

I really feel for you. And about the beef crisps - yuk! Mind you last time I was pregnant I couldn't stay away from pot noodles. Ok, that is son not helping my (hopefully) morning sickness!

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 19/03/2009 09:39

Sorry tattifer - no more food talk - unless it's about chocolate mousse: I could eat a bucketful of that right now.

If it was just depression we could cope (just), but his Passive Aggressiveness sabotages all the ways he could help himself and makes him a horrible man to live with. He just lies about everything now. He's a stranger

tattifer · 19/03/2009 09:49

I shall think strong thoughts for you while munching my oatcakes and spilling crumbs all over the laptop

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 19/03/2009 10:00

Thank you for your very kind words tattifer. Now pamper yourself silly and don't worry about me

Wheelybug · 19/03/2009 11:18

Just popping in to wave and wish Crunch luck for your relate appt today (it is Thursday today isn't it ? and it was thursday you were going ?? Wonders through addled sleep deprived brain).

All ok here - not much sleep but guess that comes with the package. Oh and sore nipples but ditto. I'm not complaining much. Lara is a wonder.

Good luck new joiners and people due scans and people due babies very soon !

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 19/03/2009 11:22

Wheely I am amazed you even know that "Thursday" exists! Let alone that it's today! Let alone that a stranger across the internet ether has an appointment on said day! You're a wonder

dan39 · 19/03/2009 11:53

I have been a bad mner and missed it all!! Wheely you have a babe!!! Congrats!! I haven't time to read back at the mo (feeding, sleeping, walking streets with pram, feeding...) but will do - so sorry to disappear like this!!

And how's scotlass doing? And wmmc? And bunny? Sorry you are having such a shit time cruunch too.

Ooh its so annoying not to have time to do this!!! It has been such a key part of my life for months!!

Good luck to everyone else too - I will try harder - the magic 6 weeks mark comes next Tue when everything allegedly becomes easy??! - so maybe I will get back eh...

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 19/03/2009 12:04

dan 6 weeks?!!?!! Try about 26 years, I reckon!

tattifer · 19/03/2009 12:43

Actually Crunch and Dan39, you're both wrong. My mother will tell you that even by the age of 42 the child is still no easier to put up with

tattifer · 19/03/2009 12:46

By the way, still haven't heard from doctor for scan appointment so have just rung surgery. "we are closed" AARRGGHHH! They are staff training till two, every Thursday. Should have known not to threaten a miscarriage anywhere near Thursday. Silly me. Will ring again this afternoon. Actually have always wanted to say this avvo, like on Neighbours.... indulge me

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 19/03/2009 12:46

Damnit!

Any news from GP tattifer?

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 19/03/2009 12:47

Crossposts!

Consider yourself indulged.

ashleighbeee · 19/03/2009 14:10

Good afternoon all! Dan great to hear from you! and see you back here

Tattifer phone your midwife back maybe and say you have had more bleeding and you'd really rather not wait for the office to be open to get a scan... alternatively, can you go to EPU? ours is paaaaaants and can only get a referral but some girls on here can go directly...

Crunch - what time is Relate session? Hope it goes better than last time! Pleased you've got a baby sitter too...

i am at work.. middle of the day typing this with one hand beeeecause i have a twister ice lolly in the other one

p.s have we heard from lola since her last scan??? xx

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 19/03/2009 14:15

Hello ashleigh, session's 8 til 9 and I'm not optimistic. I want a twister! (Little bit food obsessed at the moment )

I know Lola's scan on the 9th went well, but don't think she's been back on since.

tattifer hope you've got through to GP now.

tattifer · 19/03/2009 14:56

Just had conversation with doctor's secretary - we have just faxed the request letter through - typist doesn't start til one! Right - you can imagine part of me is screaming "yesterday, you said you'd arrange it yesterday! fax? letter? anyone hear ever heard of a phone?!" The only part of me that spoke up though said "right ok so someone'll phone me then?" Dammit, I'm sooo different in uniform...

Then she said something about a dating scan. Dating? I want to know little bucket is still there, has a heartbeat and all the right luggage for the journey - dont' give a toss how old as long as bucket's hanging in there - wail!

Bucket is this one's tummy name - the last one was li'l pip.

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 19/03/2009 15:03

tattifer I really think you need an answer - this is getting ridiculous, and if she's requesting a "dating scan" then are you sure it's being given the priority you need? Now that the fax has gone off to the EPU do you think you could call them and find out what's going on?

The more you are visibly panicking the more seriously they will take this, and the more likely they are to get you seen. Please don't wait for their call.

(Bucket is a good name. Last one was spud. This one is Trocodile Princess - as named by ds2 with the explanation that a trocodile is like a crocodile, but instead of snapping it dances )

tattifer · 19/03/2009 15:13

Cute

dh just rang sugery from his work explaining wife is panicking. A doctor just rang and said they've offered an appointment for next thursday (showers of hair being pulled out) although she thought that was a bit too long to wait and was in the process of trying to bring that forward.

If I was really poorly I could get admitted into hospital - but I'm not and who am I to queue jump in front of someone who might be about to lose their baby - wtf am I saying - that could be me!! But no I'm just panicking, not poorly.

DH just rang and suggested I fake it but no, I really don't think I can. If bucket's still hanging in no scan will change that, if he's not, ditto. I'll just have to carry on eating the oatcakes...

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 19/03/2009 15:17

tattifer glad your dh called. You're being far too nice about all this

tattifer · 19/03/2009 15:32

crunch I know! and it's unusual for me - it's slobbing around in pyjamas trying not to over excite myself what does it!

Doc just rang back - appointment for friday 27th (er, isn't that after thursday?) or £149 pounds to go private on Monday. That's a chunk of money for reassurance...

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 19/03/2009 15:40

tattifer on your behalf so you don't have to excite yourself. You've got to stop seeing them giving you an early appointment as 'taking someone else's place' because you wouldn't be.

Waiting for more than a week (oh, unless you'll pay for the privilege) is outrageous. This is not you wanting a bit of reassurance for no reason, this is you needing a scan after a bleed! Sorry, I'm probably not helping you stay calm and unexcited, am I?

ashleighbeee · 19/03/2009 15:48

Ahhh Tattifer you need to go before next Friday - honestly... £149 is expensive, i have the BEST clinic ever with the nicest sonographer named Deborah! Weekday £75 weekend £90! You're not taking someone else's place.. xx

ashleighbeee · 19/03/2009 15:48

p.s you know nothing I have just read up.. Good luck with your Relate session tonight.. I'll be thinking of you x

tattifer · 19/03/2009 16:04

ashleighbeee yes £149 is expensive but I've just agreed to it. I asked dh if he'd think I were mad to do it. His response was no, not at all, if you don't I will!

So 3.30 Monday it is then...

crunch you're right it's not like I've woken up one morning thinking I know lets just peek at the baby check it's cooking ok. I think they look at it from a if you're going to miscarry, you're going to miscarry, nothing we can do will stop it. Which while that isn't always true I suppose it is for the majority of miscarriages. I think our local hospital covers a huge rural area as well as a large urban one so there's a whole lot of other mum-to-be's wanting the same thing and a staff shortage!

I think my lack of assertiveness speaks volumes about part of me not wanting to know sooner rather than later if it's all over - confused.com....

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 19/03/2009 16:08

ashleigh thank you - dreading it

tattifer glad you've not got to wait more than a week, but shocked at the cost. I really don't think some hospitals take into consideration the fact that waiting so long in limbo can be extreme emotional torture. I can empathise with your not wanting to know. But hopefully it will all work out (then you can feel angry about the money you've had to spend and dwell on that instead)

scarlotti · 19/03/2009 16:20

Afternoon all

Just about caught up with everyone's news.
crunch thinking of you for tonight

tattifer terrible situation you're in. I'd be the same though, meekly accepting what I'm told then ranting at the unfairness of it all. £149 is expensive but it will be worth it if it puts your mind at rest.

Trocodile princess still making me smile
