The old thread was getting impossibly slow on my computer, so decided that it was time to create a new one with hopefully Rah and Ready joining us, and with a whole new due date list.....

so MrsM, Momwi - come and start the list and hopefully Rah and Ready will come here now too!!!!!

I am so excited that the temp buddies are back together again, can you tell?!?!?!?

Bodkin · 30/08/2009 20:56

One more thing (I am starting to sound like Columbo) I just read way back down the thread to April or March and saw that you were having brrrooooody feelings Chooster! Are you acting on those, or did you decide to stick at 2?

greedygreedyguzzler · 30/08/2009 22:36

hey bodders......you DO still exist!

hello fettle - glad your hols were lovely. dont know how you cope with dh going away, but i know you have before

greedygreedyguzzler · 30/08/2009 22:38

dont know what happened then i was mid sentance and my pc decided to post my post!!!

like i was saying fettle ............ you have before , and you will again! want to see your holiday pics now! i do love fb for having a good old nose!!! and yes it was a villa we stayed in and it was lovely (apart from ac was broken in 2 of the rooms!)

still waiting for my sis to pop!

Chooster · 31/08/2009 09:53

Hey all - so sorry you've got to say goodbye to DH again soon - are you seeing him this weekend coming for a bit did you say? It must be so hard in the build up to it but then once he's away I guess you must get into a pattern and get used to him not being there. Its got to be hard though. How is DD? I know you said she was unsettled about it?

Hello bodders!!! Great you popped back - no we' re sticking at 2 littlies - I do still get those broody feelings every now and then but life is good for us and I dont really want to rock the boat. The boys are getting on so well (well apart from the usual fighting and wrestling) which is lovely to see - How are the girls?

Still no baby eh Greedy!!!! How far is she over now? Is she feeling impatient? Yes, your holiday place looked great - where in Spain were you?

Hope everything is OK with everyone else!

Chooster · 31/08/2009 09:53

Oooops - first bit was for fettle obviously

fettle · 01/09/2009 20:41

Hi all - should be getting ready for my course tomorrow, but pratting on the internet instead.

DD on the surface seems to be coping ok, Chooster, except that her behaviour has deteriorated really badly over the last few weeks, particularly while DH was home for his pre-tour leave. I finally discussed with her how she felt about Daddy going away and that she had to tell me if she missed him or was sad - cue heartfelt sobbing for best part of an hour (her and me!). Since we dropped DH off at the station yesterday to go back, I had a huge wobble but she has been an absolute angel. Helping with Toby etc and helping tidying up without me even having to ask - I just hope it lasts!

But the good news (I think), is that we are definitely seeing him again this weekend - which actually will be quite weird as I kind of feel that I've said good bye to him now! hoping when he goes for good on Sunday or Monday it won't be as hard as it was yesterday, but I think I'm kidding myself!

Anyway, better get on!

Greedy - I'll post some photos later in the week hopefully. When is your sister being induced again?

Bodders - great to hear from you and great to hear that work is doing well! Still remember us all trying to guess what you did all those many many months ago on the TTC board!

Bye-bye
xxxx

Chooster · 03/09/2009 15:52

Who I missed? Chooster. You heard anyhing from mrsmc?

DH leaves us today. Off out for last lunch in mo then he goes. He's off getting a very short hair cut at mo!!

Xxxx

Chooster · 07/09/2009 13:44

So sorry DH is off again fettle - really hope you enjoy your lunch with him. It can't be easy over the next few months but I guess this is the hardest part. Hope you are bearing up ok and good luck to DH!!! How does he feel about going?

I last heard from MrsMc a month or so ago and she was doing well at that point so I'm sure its just getting easier. Little Aaliyah looks very cute in her pics! .

How is everyone else? Have you stopped swooning over your new neice yet Greedy!? baby number 4 here we come!

fettle · 07/09/2009 18:35

This is the hardest bit chooster. Saying good bye to him was horrible. Just couldn't help thinking what if I don't see him again? . But u can't think like that. In a couple of weeks we'll be in a routine and it won't seem very long. It isn't really that long if you break it up into smaller chunks. Like til half term, then christmas then he home for a week in jan then only 6 weeks til he back for good. Does that sound like I'm convincing myself? The US army does year long tours with no break. That sounds awful to me!!

If he was somewhere safer I don't think I'd mind at all. I'd miss him obviously. However he is strangely looking forward to it as only they can. This is what he is trained for after all!! Can't quite understand that myself!

Right need to get children in bath

rainbowdays · 08/09/2009 09:31

Fettle - just wanted to say thinking of you as you cope with being alone for a little while. I know several people with forces husbands, and it is tough when they go on tours. My sister had to cope for a six month tour, when she had 3 children all 3 years and under, it is hard. Oh and yes, thank you for remembering my alcoholic month - I am loving it: pate and blue cheese and alcohol, hmmm hmmm, just perfect pick-me-up for me!

Greedy - the pics of your little neice are beautiful. Congrats on being an aunt. Hope your sister is enjoying being a mummy to her lovely daughter too.

Chooster - please pass on my hellos to MrsMc when you are next in contact with her. Glad to hear things are going well for her.

Hi Ladies - just popping in to say hello to Rainbowdays...How you doing? Hope you are ok? Saw on the other thread you've had more heartache? Hope you are doing ok... x

Chooster · 08/09/2009 14:26

I can only imagine fettle - it must be so hard... Watching the news takes on a whole new meaning when you've got people you know and love out there... A friend recently went out there for 6 months and he couldn't wait to go... as you say, its what they are trained for and ready for. He will be super careful and I'm SURE he'll be just fine ... Thinking of you, and mr fettle of course!!!!

I will certainly pass on "hello's" to MrsMc... How are you rainbow? are you still sure you're going to start trying again next month?

Chooster · 10/09/2009 14:12

Eeek, just been out to get a pregnancy test... dont think I am but my period should have arrived on Monday (according to my persona and its been right the last few months) and nothing yet... I know we had sex a little close the my persona 'red' days in August (day 7 and red days are day 8 and onwards) and my maching told me I ovulated on day 14... Could those little fellas last that long - I've googled and there are different answers... Anyway I'm not going to test as hopefully just buying the thing will bring on AF!!!

Hope everyone else is feeling more relaxed than me!!!

fettle · 10/09/2009 16:45

Oh chooster! I had a very vivid dream last night that I was pg. Period not due to this wknd tho. Dream made me realise I really don't want another and I was in a real qwandry bout what I would do! Ended up deciding I would have to keep it as adoption just wouldn't be fair on baby and I'm sure we'd love another baby when we had it. Just can't imagine another now. Probably exactly the thoughts you are going thru.

Many reasons why it could be late tho. Hormones don't listen to machines! Keep us in picture

xxx

honeyapple · 11/09/2009 12:10

hiya

chooster- oo er- um- well i guess that's the thing with using persona- I don't know that it is recommended for couples who really do not want to get PG. How safe does it claim to be?

Had my first NCT training tutorial yesterday- was really good and the tutor is lovely. I have a proper interview with her in a couple of weeks but that seems like a bit of a formality- hoping!

sorry for short post- hi to everyone x

iamamummy · 11/09/2009 17:53

hello ladies!! (remember me? lol)

things have been so hectic lately and i only ever have chance for a quick read and never to post anything!

chooster - have you tested yet? i cant remember but i think it was you who mentioned a handy manny tool box? if it was or to the person who did mention it where did you get it from? ds loves handy manny and has a thing for dps tools so was thinking of buying him that as a gift from ds2 when he is born.

fettle - so sorry you had to say another final goodbye to dh again how is your dd coping? i didnt realise he was something to do with the forces i just assumed he worked abroad doing something. it must be so worrying for you and i cant begin to imagine how you feel. i hope the time passes quickly and you have lots to keep you occupied. hows the reflexology going?

greedy - hope you had a nice holiday aaannndddd CONGRATS ON BEING AN AUNTY FINALLY!!! hows the new practice going? have you got lots of new customers?

honey - glad your first nct meeting went well and finally things seem to start happening for you.

seaside - how you doing? not getting obsessed i hope with ttc! hows cassius coming on? i have just taught ds to say love you - its soooo cute!!!

rainbowdays - how are you feeling? (you are probably sick of that question) i hope you have had ample alcohol and cheese and all the other forbidden things to take the edge off. thinking of you x

hellos to everyone else bodkin, ready, mrsmcjnr, lottie hope you are all ok xxxx

well i am on the 2 week countdown now....i have been put on iron tabs, baby is back 2 back like ds1 and is expected to be another big one. however the homebirth still has the green light although i am very nervous about coping again but then the epidural did bugger all really too so its a no win situation.
i still have a million things to do ie hospital bag being top priority but just cant get the motivation to do it, think im in denial about what lies ahead

i have bought EPO as rainbowdays recommended that so going to google that in a mo and find out exactly what i am supposed to do with it.

love to u all xx

rainbowdays · 11/09/2009 21:20

Hi all, I have really enjoyed my illicit drinks, blue cheese and pate. Now I am returning to the ttc game again, and ready to see what happens.

Iam - hi little miss, long time no see and all that, good to hear you are ok and that the homebirth is still on the books. Hope you get some rest in the next couple of weeks.

Honey - great that the nct meeting went well, hope that the interview goes well too.

Chooster - have you tested?

Mowmi - thank you for checking up on me, I am doing ok at the moment.

Hi to everyone else too!

OP posts:
greedygreedyguzzler · 12/09/2009 12:35

OMG!!!! chooster - what is going on? dont keep us in suspense!

rainbow - hopefully this will be your month, maybe all your body needed was a good lot of booze and pate!

fettle - i REALLY feel for you, i dont know how you do it. but i do feel like it will be xmas before you know it cos this time of year always goes so quickly, so you will get to see him in no time! (did i convince you?)

iamamummy - said on your fb status that i can't believe you are almost there already!!! i am sure oscar is only about 4 months old himself isn't he?!! are you ABSOLUTELY SURE you are having another one!

off to visit my sis again tomorrow. have seen baby sophia twice now and she is beautiful!!! my kids met her the other day too and LOVED her which made me even broodier. i think the older two would really LOVE to have another baby! we have said maybe in 3 years time we might, hbut not before! my sis has struggled with bfing and when i was round the other day i was manually expressing as much as i could from her with my own hands! it was a bit of a strange experience squishing your own sisters boobs........but she was hopeless at getting anything out and i managed to get loads out of her!!! weirdest thing was.............i had been kind of demonstrating what do do on myself over my clothes and then when i got undressed that night i could see that i had actually got some milk out of my own!!!!! had another squeeze with my bra off and there it was, more milk!!! how amazing is that when i only fed marcy for 48 hours!!! the human body never ceases to amaze me!

anyway, must go!!!! got a patient waiting

t'ra!

fettle · 12/09/2009 21:43

How weird Greedy (unless YOU are pregnant again!!!). Although I never got on with hand expressing, so I won't give it a try out of curiousity!!!
Glad your sister is getting on ok though.

Yes, Chooster - where have you gone? What's the news? We'll be here to support you whatever the outcome (well I will and I'm assuming the others will too!).

Rainbowy - good luck with the coming month.

Honey - glad the NCT is going well. I've just got a reference for someone who is applying to go on the course, which I need to fill in - never done a reference for someone before. Feel very important!! Better not mess it up for her!!!

Iamamummy - I also can't believe you're nearly there! Good luck with the homebirth - hope everything goes painfree and smoothly for you!

Right - best go e-mail DH again - have to admit I'm running out of things to tell him, writing to him every day - my life isn't really full of very interesting things if you write it down in detail!! Need to think of some exciting things to do! Got Toby's party to plan for next week.

xxx

Chooster · 12/09/2009 21:45

hi, sorry to keep you in suspense, we are at my mum and dads and no time to get pc access. Anyway, i am not pregnant! AF arrived on Friday AFTER I'd tested and got a negative. Typical eh!!!! i dont know what the delay was (I was 4 days late in the end), but maybe because I've been a bit run down - nausea and headaches, all of which added to my suspision... The interesting thing was how scared I was when I thought I was pregnant which makes me think I'm pretty happy as I am. The other wierd thing was how disappointed DH was . He's always had a 'no way' attitude, but I think for that 24hrs he got kind of excited, although he is relived that there is not a little one coming along .

Can't believe you are that close Iamamummy!!!! . Yes it was me who got the handy manny tool box. I got it from the Disney Store. I got the soft toy one but there is a plastic one too. Hope Oscar is doing OK? Does he know whats coming?

Well done on the NCT movement Honey!!! Hope it all works out!!! Any more modelling for Dex?

Ahhh, little Sophia!!! The pics are lovely on FB Greeds... That must be wierd squeezing your sis's boobs! But needs must..... I bet she is pleased she has got such a dab hand to help

Anyway, gotts go - good luck with the ttc again rainbow!

fettle · 13/09/2009 21:33

Phew Chooster!!

Still no sign of my AF on that matter (slight spot yesterday, but nothing since). Hoping it is the stress of the last few weeks that messed me up. Although I doubt my cyst helps with hormone production levels. Finally got my appointment through to see the consultant about it at the end of the month. Hoping it keyhole surgery I need, nothing more invasive as I could do without it all at the moment!

Heard from DH briefly on Friday - seems to be ok, if busy. But at least he's arrived safely.

Hope everyone else is doing ok?

seaside72 · 13/09/2009 21:35

Chooster wow - exciting stuff ! Very sweet about your DH being disappointed, awww.

I am so sorry your DH has gone now fettle - like greedy says the time will fly till Xmas - it always does, but I am sure that is no consolation My Dad was away for long periods when I was little ( anywhere from 8 weeks to 9 months) He missed most of my "firsts" and events (first day at school, plays, sports days etc) and although it was hard at the time, like you said the goodbyes were the worst, after that you just get into the groove and it is your normality. The flip side was that his unconventional job meant when he was home he was there all the time and we had lots of holidays etc. I have always had a fantastic relationship with him

Lovely to see you Iammummy - cannot believe you are so close to D Day number 2 ! DS sounds like he is streets ahead of Cassius in the talking - all we have here is Dad, Car and Bum, sometimes Door and Juice - the rest of the time it is just "yeah" and "nooo" and babbling! He does give me lots of kisses when I ask though and also will give me a cuddle with an extra squeeze - too cute. Apart from that he is great ,eating and sleeping well and so full of energy - yesterday we went for a walk without the buggy and he walked over a mile without being asked to be carried or anything?! I am worried he is the next Forest Gump

rainbowdays - sending you positive baby making vibes - glad you enjoyed some blue cheese and wine

lottie - those scan pics are AMAZING How has the move gone?

Such great news about your sis greedy and well done on the expressing. I so remember those early days of trying o squeeze out 10 ml of milk - arghh!

Honey - glad the NCT went well - am sure you will breeze the interview ;)

Right - better go - am off on my first trip alone with ds tomorrow - to stay with my DP's in France. However much I try to be someone who travels light it never works out that way
TTC obsession is OK - although I know it will gradually ramp up. I am in the 2ww and cannot help myself but look back at my FF chart from the month I got my BFP desperately searching for clues Next month I am breaking out the preseed!

Love to everyone else lurking xxxx

greedygreedyguzzler · 14/09/2009 14:31

all this talk of ttc and possible pregnancies has made me think i might be!!!! felt really sick last night when i cooked some garlic bread and thats how i was when pg with marcy!!! sure i'm not really but it does make you think, especially with me still having milk in my boobs!!

my sis has given up on the bfing! hope it wasnt me who put her off with my manhandling!!! visited again yesterday (i am going to give her some space now!!!honest!!) and sophia is just the most adorable baby ever!!! she NEVER cries!!! i know she is only one week old, but so far she is SUPER chilled!!! long may it last for them! good thing about her not bfing is that i got to feed her yesterday!!! it was lovely and made me so so so so broody!!!! roll on 3 years until we can have another one!!!

seaside...it's good to make them walk i think!!! marcy walks everywhere if we have the time!!! kiki was out of her buggy by 2 1/2 and i'm not sure marcy will manage that, but i think she would like me to get rid of her buggy now. unfortunately when we are running late for school she gets thrown in so we can power down the road!!

proud mother alert!!............my lovely ellis got his yellow belt at karate yesterday! thats his 7th belt now which i am very proud of!!! even though he is still a big softie and would never actually use it on anyone!! oh, and dh got his green belt (but thats more embarressing than anything!!)

better go
