Good point Rainbow!! My AF arrived yesterday (I think!). never been so light before, but then an ovarian cyst must be having some effect on my hormones I suppose.
Anyway, Honey when the HV saw Toby at 18 months and he was saying nothing, she said that if he wasn't saying 50 words by 2, he should probably be referred to speech therapy for an assessment. I think "normal" is 10-50 by 18 months, 50-200!! by 2 and upwards from there. But who's "normal"? You could have an intelligible two-way conversation with DD by 2, so my two couldn't be more different. It is lovely have more and more words coming from Toby now, although most words start with "d" whether they should or not, but at least he's trying now! Such a shame, DH is missing it though- but you're right Seaside, it is such a short time in the scale of their lives, it doesn't really matter that he's not here for such a small part.
Toby seems to be coping much better about DH being away - I've printed him out a photo of him, which he talks to, feeds pretend food and cups of tea. Today when I suggested we draw Daddy a picture, he ran into the sitting-room and starting shouting for Da-da as if looking for him and was looking for the photo as if expecting it to answer him back!!! Made some tears come to my eyes, it was so sweet.
Honey - how's the NCT going? My friend had her first session today - can't wait to hear how it went. I had to write her reference for her, which was a bit of a responsibility!
Right - need an early night, as I'm exhausted!
take care all - what news from you Iammummy? Still hanging in there?
