The old thread was getting impossibly slow on my computer, so decided that it was time to create a new one with hopefully Rah and Ready joining us, and with a whole new due date list.....

so MrsM, Momwi - come and start the list and hopefully Rah and Ready will come here now too!!!!!

I am so excited that the temp buddies are back together again, can you tell?!?!?!?

fettle - really sorry to hear that. hope you are ok. makes you realise that worrying about the silly things just isn't worth it, life can be over so quickly. xxx

Ready · 25/06/2009 13:13

That's so sad fettle - heartbreaking. Why are there so many awful people in the world? Hugs.

xx

honeyapple · 25/06/2009 13:26

Hi Fettle- so sad to hear about your friend's brother.

Just wanted to also say that I have finally heard from my local NCT and it seems quite positive- just looking into grant funding for the training. There is currently no chair in my local branch- hence why no one was getting back to me...But a lovely BF counsellor rang me with lots of helpful advice and said that she was confident that they would agree to train me- so all quite exciting.

Rah- how is daisy? Looking forward to hearing from you .

Ready- how are you feeling?

Rainbow- hope you are doing ok.

Ready · 25/06/2009 17:46

That's excellent news Honey, fingers crossed that the funding works out.

I am feeling good apart from the flump feet - midwife is not concerned, bp fine and no headaches, and nothing abnormal in samples... but these flump feet are not attractive

Baby still not fully engaged, which was worrying me, but have started the drop, so next appt I am hoping for deeper engagement.

2 weeks to go!!!

How is everyone?

honeyapple · 27/06/2009 14:33

Ready- sorry about the flump feet- I think mine are a bit like that though in this heat! It is HOT today. You may notice a change in your bump shape when the baby fully engages and also you will probably start walking even more like John Wayne . Good to hear everything going well apart from the feet .

I'm off without kids to a friends for the night- hurrah!

x

Chooster · 27/06/2009 21:17

Have fun honey! enjoy the child free time.. .

Are I remember the flump feet well ready... Its feels pretty grim doesn't it - 2 weeks to go though!!!! Very exciting...

Ready · 28/06/2009 12:34

Grim is definitely the word Chooster

Went to local cricket club yesterday and everyone remembered their flump feet - makes you feel part of the gang ... the feet are not too bad today, can actually see ankle bones so guess it must be the heat - or the amount of walking I have been doing. Trying to get out every day for a stroll.

There has been a noticeable 'drop' in my bump - it's very sloped now, where as before it was very rounded at the top.

Hope you enjoyed your night out Honey

fettle · 28/06/2009 13:47

Ready - how exciting - I think you're now more pregnant than I ever was!!!! Have you got your bag packed?! Flump feet sound uncomfortable - I luckily didn't really suffer from them - winter pg with DD and horrible summer with Toby.

Honey - great NCT might take off

Better go and do something constructive - DD and DH are at the tip as part of a long list of things to do at weekends, so I'd better not be caught on the computer!! Weekends seem so short now with DH home Fri eve and then leaving Sunday evening

take care all

Chooster · 28/06/2009 20:29

How are you managing with DH being away fettle? You must miss him but is it OK?

fettle · 28/06/2009 21:31

Thanks Chooster - I do miss him, but we're doing ok -just seems ages until April when we are planning on moving to be together again full time!

Hoping for a better week this week. First week I was so ill with tonsilitis that it was horrible and then last week I had the news that my friend had died so that made me an emotional wreck most of the week! Possibly got the funeral this week, so have to find someone to help with the children as the flights are so early and late that I'll need help for 2 nights. Tricky!

Anyway, I also need to try and get to bed early or at least do some reflexology reading in the evenings, as I'm just wasting the evenings doing nothing/surfing the web/watching lots of crap TV that I'm not normally allowed to watch!!

xxx

ps Honey how was your night away with the girls?

Chooster · 29/06/2009 12:44

Thats sounds familiar fettle! My Dh has just started doing shifts so half the time he is gone from 7pm to 7am. He's only done about 6 of these shifts so far but every time I think I'll get to bed early and read a book, but then I end up fannying around and before I know it its 11pm... Must try harder ..

Are you coming up to Scotland soon?

We're off to the hospital this afternoon for a pre-operation visit where DS1 will get shown around and gets to see the operating theatre and ward... he also gets a puppet show describing what happens in hospital, but looking at the picture of the puppets they use I think they are going to terrify him more than anything else! .

fettle · 29/06/2009 16:19

Coming towards end if July. May be up this Friday tho if I come up for funeral.

Hope max visit goes well. Personally I find most puppets really scary!!!

Good luck with the early bed. I intend to go to bed with my reflexology books but bet I won't!!!

Xxx

fettle · 01/07/2009 20:51

Helloooooooooo-oo-oo-oooooo!

Anybody there?

Or have you all melted

xxx

Ready · 02/07/2009 10:09

I'm here... melting slowly in the heat. I love this weather as a normal person, but carrying all this extra weight makes it less enjoyable.
I have been getting all manner of twinges for a few days, right down in my cervix (or at least that is how it feels) and pressing on my bladder. 2 nights ago it was so strong it kept me awake for hours, and a tiny part of me was wondering if it might be the start of labour. It wasn't.

How on EARTH is a first timer meant to know when the real thing kicks in?

xxx

fettle · 03/07/2009 08:25

Can't help on the labour signs I'm afraid Ready as I was induced with both mine. Sorry! But I did get pains in cervix which MW said was babys head bouncing up and down on it!! So could be that which must be a good sign!

so excited for you. Not long to go!!!!

At home for funeral today. Missing children like crazy but they being well looked after.

greedygreedyguzzler · 03/07/2009 17:59

heelo all!

i know it's a cliche ready, but you will jusnot ideal!!!

t KNOW!!!! you will no doubt spend a few hours thinking..........."is this it?" and then when the pains don't stop you will know it IS it!

i love this weather!!! think i am as brown as i normally get after 2 weeks away from all the school runs aned trips to the park.

not been on here much cos everything is happening with my new premises and loads of school stuff cos its the end of term and kiki starts reception in sept. can't wait to move out of my temporary work premises........i am in an old people's drop in centre and it smells of old people or cabbage all the time, and i keep getting old bids trying to walk in on me when i'm with a patient!!

sorry, i know that was a real me me me post and now i have to go cos marcy has just tipped her saussage casserole all over her white sundress!

honeyapple · 06/07/2009 12:27

hiya

greedy- is the heat effecting your typing skills?

Ready- unfortunately I had the same thing with number 2 and 3! Wondering whether labour was going to start everytime I felt a twinge... but as Greedy says when it starts- you will know- cos it'll be like-

'Bloomin' eck!@@@@!!!!'

Rain rain rain this morning and DD's sports day cancelled- going to try tommorrow so hoping ths sun will be out.

Where is Rah? Want to hear about Daisy . I bet it's hard in the heat with a tiny one though. Worrying about them getting too hot and dehydrated .

Ready · 06/07/2009 13:17

Sorry to hear sports day is cancelled Honey, fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Greedy, really laughed at the old bids trying to get into your clinic. Haha. Not long to go now though.

Fettle, are you back yet? Big hugs. Hope everything went well

I'm not even overdue yet, and I feel like I am, I am so excited and really want things to start soon. You'd think I would have more patience than this - I mean, I waited long enough to conceive, another couple of weeks isn't that long. Had 2 really strong twinges yesterday about 20 minutes apart, and I thought 'YES! This is it!'... then nothing, Braxton Hicks, Booooooooo.

I have ankle bones for the first time in weeks - it's a lovely sight

I am off to get a fresh pineapple.

Ready · 06/07/2009 13:19

Oh and Rah has put a link on her profile to some photos of Daisy.

rainbowdays · 06/07/2009 18:58

Ready - yep boo for braxton hicks! I am getting excited at the prospect of the next grads baby arrival. At least the rain has relieved the heat for your poor swollen ankles.

I had finally got af arrive, exactly two years after my m/c before I concieved jak! So if I got pg this month I would have the same due date plus two years.

OP posts:
honeyapple · 07/07/2009 12:35

ready- mmm pineapple (apparently you need to eat at least 10 to get enough of whatever is in it that can trigger labour...)
Sex is definitely the best for getting things moving IMO- but I have heard that prostoglandins in semen are even better taken orally...

rainbow- how you doing?

I am currently trying to convince a slightly boody friend of mine to go for number 3- just so I can have a surrogate baby to smell!

Going round and round in circles with NCT- no one in my branch seems to know what to do with potential students- even though they are very keen on me doing it! Say they need new teachers .

Dex is having HORRENDOUS teething issues at the moment. My other babes never had any problems so I always thought people made too much of teething. But Dex is miserable and has constant dribble pouring out his mouth- so much that he is choking on it. He hasnt eaten properly for a few days and it is really upsetting him cos you can see he wants to eat but it hurts too much.

honeyapple · 07/07/2009 12:36

BROODY! not boody...!

Chooster · 07/07/2009 22:28

Aw, poor Dex honey! MAx never really suffered with it but Theo has bouts of being a bit off because of it - he's having a spell now as the pointy ones at the bottom (not sure what they are called ) are coming in - I can see the bright red gums and the points trying to shove their way through. He's off his food too...

Hi ready - nothing to add the others haven't said - you will definately know when the time is right, although that last few weeks can seem like forever, especially the first time - with seconds (and presume thirds etc!) there is so much more to think about and consider that you wont be so focussed on it - well I wasn't really - I would have been perfectly happy if Theo was late!

We are back from the hospital today after Max's tonsil and adenoid operation. He had it done yesterday afternoon and was SO brave! The hospital were great and kept him entertained during the day and let him drive a lightening mcqueen electric car down the corridors to the area where he was going to be put to sleep - he was on such a high because of that that he didn't have time to be scared . Needless to say it all went well and we're back home. I'm so glad we've gone ahead with it as the doctor who performed the op said that his adenoids were massive as were his tonsils and they would probably have jsut got bigger for another coupleof years - didn't realise they grow until about age 7?! He was hooked up to the oxygen mmoitor all night and his oxygen never fell below 96% all night which is fantastic! It was dropping well below 80% last time the study was done. Phew!!! All over! . Well, a few more days of TLC required but I wont complain as the cuddles are lovely!

Honey - Hope NCT pull their fingers out soon!!

Rainbow - sorry once again for your news...

By the way Greedy - I think we were talking about persona a while ago - I went for it and am coming to the end of my second month using it and so far its been fab! Really easy once you get used to peeing on a stick a few times a month! Not pregnant yet - so far so good!!

Ready · 08/07/2009 14:25

Rainbow, that would be spooky if you conceived and your dates were exactly the same plus 2 years. Fingers crossed for you.

Honey, I can only imagine how frustrated you must be about the NCT, it?s such a shame that things are not moving along nicely ? they clearly need the teachers. Hang in there, it will be worth it in the end.
Poor Dex and his teething, hope the little blighters pop through soon.
I am glad you said that about the prostaglandins being better taken orally ? I tried to tell a friend of mine that was the case, and she was convinced it had been concocted by a man! She would have none of it when I said that it was absorbed easier by the gut. Phew? at least I am not going mad

Chooster, that?s great news that Max?s surgery went well. And it is lovely to hear how well they looked after him.
The persona sounds good ? is it just like plotting your most fertile days so you know when to be ultra careful?

Hope everyone is doing ok? D day tomorrow. Think I will go over. We shall see

honeyapple · 08/07/2009 18:19

ready- good luck for tommorrow! I know a couple of people who gave birth on D date so it is possible! I bet you can't wait to see what s/he looks like . You better keep us updated!

I am sticking with the NCT thing but it is really bad how disorganised they are. I think a lot of people would have given up by now and thought it wasnt worth the hassle.

no sign of dex's teeth- and not he has a dodgy tummy- not sure if connected?
