The old thread was getting impossibly slow on my computer, so decided that it was time to create a new one with hopefully Rah and Ready joining us, and with a whole new due date list.....

so MrsM, Momwi - come and start the list and hopefully Rah and Ready will come here now too!!!!!

I am so excited that the temp buddies are back together again, can you tell?!?!?!?

Bodkin · 11/06/2009 23:02

Rainbow - so sorry to hear you are going through this. Hope you are managing to get a bit of rest and time to yourself, it's not easy to carry on looking after the rest of your family while you are going through something like this. xx

Wonderful news about MrsMcJnr - and congrats to MrMc for turning his hand to midwifery so successfully...a change of career ahead?

rainbowdays · 12/06/2009 10:02

MrsMc - yippy, I am so happy for you, that you got your homebirth afterall, and that things went quickly for you. I hope you are enjoying your little daughter now, and that the worries you had before are now gone. It really helps me to hear good news.
I had another friend of mine give birth to a little boy on the same day!!!!

Chooster - please pass on my congrats to mrsmc, and let her know I am so happy for her.

AFM - Sorry to say but my hcg levels in 48 hours went from 1024 to 840, so although I have stopped bleeding etc, it seems this is just going to be a drawn out process. The levels should have halved in that time, but they didn't. I have to go for more blood tests on monday.

RahRah1 · 15/06/2009 05:49

Hi all

Sorry I have not posted recently...

Many congratulations to MrsMc - WOOOHOOOO

I'm just jumping on quickly as off for my induction this morning... ARRRRR - SCARY!!

Hope everyone is OK

Lots of love - Rah Xxxxx

rainbowdays · 15/06/2009 12:09

Rah - am thinking of you today, hope the induction is going smoothly.

honeyapple · 15/06/2009 14:17

rah- hopefully you have had your baby by now! If not- hoping it is not too much longer
. Can't wait to hear your news x

rainbow- thanks for the belated b'day wishes, hope you are managing ok- thinking of you.

greedy- good luck with the packing. How long until you get into your proper place? BTW have you completely knocked the thought of having another baby on the head?

fettle- getting a bit cheesed off with the NCT as they just do not return phone calls. GGRRRR- still hoping to be able to do the antenatal teacher training... just waiting to hear from the Chair of my local branch...

fettle · 15/06/2009 20:52

Rah - hope all is going smoothly - it took 4 days to get my labour started with DD when I induced at 36 weeks - she just didn't want to come out! But I'm sure you'll be much quicker (I can say this now, as you probably won't read this until you're telling us the happy news and it is all over!!)

Honey - what a PITA with the NCT. My friend here is having some joy - I just got the number of the local trainer for her to speak to as another friend of mine has just finished the training. Happy Birthday BTW - did you go/do anything nice? You're not getting broody again are you - checking whether Greedy is!!

I've got my 3rd bout of tonsillitis of the year - just typical while DH is away so I have to soldier on. Went to GP though as thought if bacterial would like antibiotics to shorten it if possible - last time it lasted 2 weeks, so I should have gone to the GP that time, but I hate wasting their time.

Rainbow - any news? Can't believe that you are having to hang on in there for so long - hope you are coping ok.

Hope everyone else is doing fine - I'd better go sleeping now.

rainbowdays · 15/06/2009 21:16

Levels gone from 840 on friday to 660 today, anywhere near halving in 4 days let alone 48hours like it is supposed to do. More blood tests to come.

I am hoping that Rah has her baby girl out by now, I keep watching fb for news.

OP posts:
rainbowdays · 16/06/2009 08:27

oh no news from Rah yet , hope she has not had to pull an all-nighter, hope instead she is just having so many baby cuddles she has not had time to let us know yet. I wonder if MrRah will come and let us know?

OP posts:
greedygreedyguzzler · 16/06/2009 10:26

come on rah! hope all is going/has gone smoothly.

honey - when did you go to paris then? you kept that quiet? or did i just miss it? have definately put the idea of another baby on hold for at least 3 years!!! my lease on my new work premises is for 3 years so once i sign that i cant really go getting pg!!! not sure i could honestly cope with 4 anyway....i barely cope with 3 some days! how about you? the only way i think i might have another is when marcy goes to school and i approach the big 40 i might see it as my last chance and decide to go for it, but thats not for 3 years! you are younger than me though, so have more time on your side....

Chooster · 16/06/2009 13:46

So sorry to hear that you are still stuck in a form of limbo rainbow. Have they scanned you at all, whats the next step after the next blood test?

REALLY hoping Rah is just so busy cuddling her new daughter to care about us here on tentahooks (is that spelt right?) .

So, no baby for 3 yrs eh Greedy! I reckon your broodiness is going to peak when your neice / nephew is born . How is your sis and when's her date again? I always get more broody when close friends have their little ones. But I like your thinking... Do you think you would go back to the baby days again later on? I'm like you in that I'm approaching 40 in a few years and I think I'll have a last minute "its now or never" moment, although I realistically can't see it as the boys will be so much easier at that point.... Hmmmmm

Hope the NCT get their act together Honey and you get some info soon!! . Are you thinking about nunmber4?

Urgh - tonsilitis is awful isn't it fettle - thats a lot of infections so far this year. When does DH move away for during the week time? It must be about now is it?

Anyway, just realised I'm running late, its been a busy day so far and got loads to do before I head to the school tonight to meet Max's new teacher (well from August) - Can't wait !!!

fettle · 16/06/2009 16:31

Just quickly as I have hungry tired children. Think rah induction taking longer than anticipated. She certainly hadn't had baby this morning! May have done by now!

Xxx

seaside72 · 17/06/2009 09:52

Yippee - Rah had her baby
see here

rainbowdays · 17/06/2009 10:07

CONGRATULATIONS Rah and mrRah. Hope you are enjoying your first day together, I hope that you are not too sore from the section Rah, love to you all. Look forward to seeing photos soon.

Hi all
Hope everyone is doing OK
rainbow - so sorry you are going through this {{{big hugs}}}
Tonsillitis is just horrible fettle - poor you, hope you are feeling a bit better and taking some good acidophilus
Greedy - your new practice sounds great - well done for taking the plunge. I am feeling very useless at the moment work-wise - need to get back to doing something/getting a job but cannot seem to motivate myself
lottie - was just stalking the TTC threads looking for gilly or Rah news and noticed you were looking for maternity clothes - I have to say I found the best maternity stuff at H&M - got the best jeans and other trousers etc and good prices, they go from size 8-20 I am sure. Also Gap Maternity is really nice and Zara has a very limited maternity line only in some branches but what they have is lovely. The other one I liked was Crave maternity online - although I never actually got anything from there it seemed nice. JoJo Maman Bebe and Blooming Marv not my cup of tea.
How annoying about the NCT honeyapple - I noticed there were some other threads about NCT training with mixed reviews and at least one person in the same boat not being able to get hold of their regional chair person.
Hope it went well with Max's teacher Chooster - how exciting
Need some toddler advice if anyone can help - Cassius is in a really annoying throwing stage - he throws things on the floor, at people, other toddlers - has thrown a building block and board book at me just today I have tried telling him no, being angry, pretending to cry, distracting etc but am so that at some point he will hurt another toddler/person? He cries if I tell him off but then just does it again? Arghhhh!
Love to everyone

Chooster · 17/06/2009 21:27

Hi seaside - toddlers can be annoying little creatures! I'm in no place to dish out paretning advise after the day I've had but I find if you just consistently and firmly say no and take the toy / block away then it will pass. There is really very little else you can do except be on guard at all times! .

Any new rainbow?

I popped on your other thread, but Congratulations again Rah!!! Its nice to have a new 'thread baby'.

The trip to the school was great yesterday - its such a lovely place and the teacher seemed so nice - I'm really pleased with the whole thing and I'm sure DS will settle in - well I hope so... He's been a right little bugger recently - not sure what it is, maybe school coming up? But he's so much cheekier and doesn't listen and is just deliberately naughty. Take today - It was a little rainy in the afternoon so I got flip chart paper out and some paints and thought that would be fun - .... It was great for a while until DS1 started flicking black paint everywhere and no matter how many times I told him / warned him he just laughed and kept running off and doing it - Grrrrrr!!!!! I flipped and ot really cross which I hate doing but I just saw red... Felt really guilty afterwards because I'd lost it but he just didn't seem to care . Hopefully its just a phase - mind you he is still lovely most of the time

honeyapple · 18/06/2009 10:14

congrats Rah! Welcome Daisy Tallulah (seriously good name). Sorry about the C- section, hope you not too sore.

Seaside- throwing is a tricky one- Dex went through it (and is out the other side!). Throwing is a new skill that they learn at this age- so like any new skill they want to practice it- unfortunatley it can be a bit anti-social. Try giving him a soft ball that he can throw and then saying- look you can throw this nice soft ball, but not the hard block!. (Goodness I went a bit supernanny then- apologies!)

My local NCT are seriously rubbish- still no word back. I guess they don't need to train any new antenatal teachers/ or maybe they are just SO inundated with people wanting to do it... ho hum

fettle · 21/06/2009 16:42

We'd disappeared!!!!!

Not got long - hope all is well.

rainbowdays · 21/06/2009 21:00

fettle · 23/06/2009 07:40

One of my childhood friends brother was killed on sun night by a car driven by someone drunk and on cocaine. He was just a bit older than my younger brother. they were like family to us. I feel sick and numb. My mum was due to be coming down here today for few days while DH is away but is staying home now to help her friend.

Chooster · 23/06/2009 13:21

Oh fettle, I'm so sad to hear that . Its awful when you hear of young people dying in such a horrible needless way. His family must be devastated . Did he have children of his own? Its also an awful reminder of how fragile everything can be As mums we know how hard people try to keep their kids safe and happy and you can't even contemplate something like this happening. His poor mum...

Thanks for the Rah update ready - great that they are doing well - looking forward to the long update .

How are you now rainbow?
