The old thread was getting impossibly slow on my computer, so decided that it was time to create a new one with hopefully Rah and Ready joining us, and with a whole new due date list.....

so MrsM, Momwi - come and start the list and hopefully Rah and Ready will come here now too!!!!!

I am so excited that the temp buddies are back together again, can you tell?!?!?!?

Ready - how exciting to be at d-day tomorrow. I take it you are already taking raspberry leaf tea and evening primrose oil? Has the baby turned or still breech? I am really excited for you.

Chooster - good to hear that max's op went ok.

Honey - sorry to hear that Dex is having such a rough time teething, it is not fun.

Greedy - your temporary work place sounds horrendous. Have you got a date to move out yet?

OP posts:
fettle · 08/07/2009 20:41

Good luck Ready - she'll come out when he's ready!!! [did you see what I did there!!!)

Honey - NCT sound dreadful - my friend here has already had her interview and been accepted on a course. She's allowed to go next week to a course that's already running to see how it works. Apparently some people take their babies with them to the course - can't imagine being able to concentrate much with Toby with me! BTW Toby really suffered with all his teeth, DD had no trouble whatsoever apart from red cheeks. Toby has never had red cheeks, but my word does he dribble constantly! Still! Got the back 4 molars to come and there's no sign of them, but he's always got his fingers stuffed in there and he really is like a tap most days!!

Greedy - how are the new premises working out?

Rainbow - good luck for this month - I conceived 2 weeks after my 2nd mc with Toby, so fingers crossed the same thing happens for you.

Chooster - good old brave Max. Hospital sound as if they were really good with him. How long until he's totally recovered? We're up in 2 weeks (fly up 20th - not sure if we're going to have a chance to pop to the zoo, but what days would be best for you if we do decide to do it? We fly back on the 24th, so not there for a weekend.

Right - my parents are here for a few days so I'd better be sociable.
take care all

D-Day Although I don't 'feel' as if the baby will come today. Haven't been taking the raspberry leaf tea yet - and I still haven't cracked open the pineapple, and DH is probably hoping for me to suggest the other method - I actually do think that the arrival will be when s/he is ready too Fettle - so feeling quite relaxed about it.

I am anxious about how much it is going to hurt, and how long it will take, and how big this bruiser of a baby that everyone keeps saying I am having will be. My bump measures just above the midline now, and I am aware that my bump is big in comparison to others I have seen - and there is still not much extra of 'me' so I keep wondering if that really does suggest a HUGE baby... which makes me wonder about ending up with the c-section anyway.

Oops, I thought I had said that the baby is no longer breech. I had to go and have a scan to confirm, and the head was definitely down

At my midwife appt yesterday the baby still hadn't fully engaged, but she was not concerned, and really eased my worries. All the books say first timers engage before term - but as she said, not everyone follows the 'rules'. There has been a definite 'drop' in my bump, so there is some downward movement

Eek. Sorry for this stream of consciousness.

Hope everyone is ok... will keep you posted.

Happy Due Day Ready

Sorry for being awol - have been dealing with lots of property/tenant/maintenance issues and DH and I are sick as dogs at the mo (swine flu???!!) luckily Cassius has escaped so far.

Will post more when I am back home again.

xxx

Chooster · 09/07/2009 12:52

Sorry to hear you're poorly seaside - does it feel flu-like? Thank goodness Cassius is OK.

Happy Due Date Ready!!! Glad to hear you sounding relaxed about when its all going to kick off. Try not to worry too much the pain thing - everyone's experiences are so different and yours will be equally as unique! . As long as you stay calm and as in control as you can then you will be absolutely fine. As long as the doctors are not worried about the size then dont let it concern you too much. I was massive with Theo and told he was going to be big but he was only 8lb 1 when born - although he was 9 days early, he probably would have only been 9lb ish at due date. It will be an amazing experience however it happens.

Hi fettle - good that you've got some support and company over the next few days - how is DH handling it being away? In the week you are up here I have wednesday (23rd) off work and often end up taking the kids to the zoo anyway as we are so close. Nearer the time I'll give you my mobile number and you can let me know what your plans are.

iamamummy · 09/07/2009 14:09

just popping in quickly to wish ready a happy due date!!

cant wait to hear news of your new arrival! i had a massive bump too and nothing anywhere else - was all 8IB 13oz of baby find comfort in what people told me - your body wont produce a baby you cannot deliver.

seaside - i sympathise with the tenant issue - we are having big probs at mo too and currently going down the court route which is so not fun and seriously stressing me out. i wish i just had 2 giant hands sometimes to give certain people a big shake up.

all ok here 28+3 and herbie is head down we had our 4d scan saturday and he is a spitting image of oscar, both 4d pictures are the same - scary!!

hope to catch up soon love to all xxx

greedygreedyguzzler · 09/07/2009 17:12

OMG ready!!!is it really your due date today? are you the same ready who was ttc for ages and thought you would never get pg?!! cant believe you are on the verge of actually becomming a mummy!!! dont worry about the labour too much.............you KNOW it's going to hurt, but there isn't much you can do about it, and it really wont last for that long and once its over you will really feel like such a superhero for having gone through such an amazing thing! good luck!!

my sis is 34 wks now too!!!! yippee!!!! cant wait till she pops!!!

had some sad news the other day though, my nan died. she is the one that i was told wouldn't make it through the night when i was 8 months pg with marcy, but obviously she did and then lasted almost another 2 years. very sad, but the saddest thing is that she had said she doesn't want a funeral because she got so sick of going to them, and she only wants a cardboard coffin. so she is getting cremated on monday with no service or anything. my dad has arranged for a memorial service cos she didn't actually specify she didnt want one of them, so we can at least say goodbye.

started writing this post about 3 hours ago and now i cant rem what any of you lot said.

oh, just remembered you chooster and yuor brave boy! you must be pleased its all over. and thanks for the persona info. think i might be perimenopausal anyway. i know it sounds ridiculous, but my mum went through the menopause very early and i seem to be having a period every 3 weeks or so now which is unheard of for me cos i normally have massive long cycles. think i could be ovulating all over the show cos my body is a bit screwed up so i guess i would have to wee on a stick every day would i?

better go.......

rainbowdays · 09/07/2009 22:46

Happy Due date Ready! When you are ready (!) then I would recommend the raspberry leaf tea (yuk) and the evening primrose oil and sex. Size of bump does not show what is inside. I had a bigger bump with dd who was only 7lbs3oz than with ds2 who was a 9lber. Loads of water with dd, virtually nil with ds2, hence the difference in bump size. I am glad to hear that baby is head down too. Ready, steady to go!

Iam - you can't possibly be that far along yet, I thought you were only just pg!!!! shows time goes fast sometimes.

Rah and Mrs - how are you and your little ones?

LondonLottie - are you still lurking? how are you getting on?

OP posts:
rainbowdays · 09/07/2009 22:48

greedy - sorry forgot to say sorry to hear about your nan. It is a good idea to have the memorial service, everyone needs a way to say goodbye.

OP posts:
Ready · 11/07/2009 14:04

Thanks for all the good wishes girls

Greedy, really sorry to hear about your Nan, I hope the memorial service enables you all to say goodbye.

Can I ask... is it normal for me to be feeling so emotional at the moment. I have cried buckets over all sorts of things this week - and when I start I can't stop - and I find myself sobbing. I am terrified that I might develop pnd or something

Goodness, that sounds really hardcore doesn't it.

labcoat · 11/07/2009 17:18

Nope it is completely normal ready - it shows that you will be popping very soon!!!! The day before Jak was born I was bawling and crying and so emotional, I could not hide it from the other children, and they were worried about me. My mum had to reassure them that it was what ladies who are expecting babys do!!!! It has no association with pnd, it is just part of the nesting experience. I am actually excited to hear you mention it, as it shows that you will be having your baby very soon!!!! (well anytime in the next week or so

labcoat · 11/07/2009 17:19

Whoops I just posted with a different name from normal!!!!

honeyapple · 11/07/2009 21:20

what's with labcoat?! Is that your alter-ego rainbow?

Ready- perfectly normal! don't worry nothing to link with pnd i am sure. Don't forget what a long journey you have been on to have this baby and the fact that you will be meeting s/he VERY soon is a big emotional thing- just wait till s/he is here- you will be crying tears of joy... and BTW i am a complete emotional wreck most of the time since having children!

honeyapple · 13/07/2009 17:27

bump! Have you still got a bump ready? Or is little ready here?

A child has swine flu at DD's school! Not panicing too much yet! Just hope no one gets it before we go on holiday next week... anyone know the incubation period??

fettle · 13/07/2009 17:54

Honey - I've heard various figures from 2-10 days!!! Don't think anyone knows anything - I've just been reading a great worriers thread about it all. There have been a few cases confirmed round here recently, including in a school that I was in last week - as soon as I found out I started shivering, feeling really cold and tired and even sneezing! Went to pilates and felt much better - obviously some weird pyschological nonsense going on there!!

I'm definitely in the "there's far too much else to worry about than swine flu" camp at the moment. But then with DH about to go to a warzone, I know I'm unusual! But remind me of that in the autumn when it's mutated into a really deadly form!!! But I have to agree with you that I really don't want it spoiling the summer holidays!!! But also think that I'd rather have it in the summer than in the winter when the weather's worse and let's face it we'll all going to get it eventually in some form or another!

Sorry - that didn't mean to come across as a rant - I'm feeling really hormonal today and I need an adult to let off steam too!!

Where you going on holidays? Anywhere nice? We're off to Scotland next week(lots of swine flu there!!) and then France later in the holidays when DH has some leave.

Greedy, so sorry to hear about your nan - I agree that a memorial service is very important for people to say good bye.

Right - best go and put my cherubs to bed - Toby has been really out of sorts today, with his fingers in his mouth and dribbling like a tap - when are these blooming molars going to finally come through?

xxx

ps I think Ready still had a bump earlier today!

Chooster · 13/07/2009 21:17

Hope your little ones are nicely tucked up in bed now fettle - mins are but the pesky big one is still not asleep - he seemed knackered earlier but I've just stuck my head round his door to see him up and playing with his cars. Ist his first night back in his own bed as he's been sleeping with me since the op which has been lovely! . He snuggles up in the night and its so nice - also its been an excuse not to snuggle up with DH as we've not been getting on teh last few days - nothing major, but he's working far too much and is tired and grumpy when with us.

Hope none of your lot get swine flu before you go away honey! Fingers crossed - I'm kind of with fettle on this in that I figure most of us will get it and I'd certainly prefer to get it in a mild form as long as I can't re-get it!!

Where is bodkin these days?

Let us know when you get some news and movement ready!

Sorry about your nan greedy - when is the memorial service?

fettle · 13/07/2009 22:36

All sleeping peacefully - I hope. Toby had been a bit sick when I went to bed last night, so I'm hoping he's not lying a pool of his own sick again tonight...but if he won't cry or let me know how am I suppose to notice other than by smell?!

Anyway, I've just sent you a message Chooster on facebook about next week.

Max sounds cute, but hope he is sleeping now!!

I'm feeling much calmer now by the way!

xxx

Ready · 14/07/2009 11:54

Nope. Still a bump. Still waiting. Trying to be as patient as possible and enjoy the few remaining lie-ins.

5 days over now.

Chooster · 14/07/2009 21:05

You are so right ready - enjoy your last few lie-ins... You wont have to be patient for much longer .

How is toby today fettle? I hope better! Max has been sick in his sleep a couple of times and it is a bit of a worry because you never know when it happens . Theo woke with chicken pox this morning, bless him. He's been absolutely fine but I did notice a couple of spots yesterday (his 2nd birthday!), but thought they may just be bites as we'd been in the garden most of the weekend as we had a family party for him - anyway, he's got about 30 today... So there's been some mad re-organising of work / nursery etc... This is when being a working mum becomes a massive headache and the guilt factor of having to re-arrnage things and not just concentrate on looking after the wee one. Anyway, he's generally fine so I hope its just a mild form.

rainbowdays · 14/07/2009 23:41

Ready - yep enjoy everyone of the extra lie-ins. So exciting that it will be soon birth-day.

Chooster - oh no, not the chickenpox, hope Theo does not suffer too much with them. Chickenpox is rife around here at the moment, but so far has not arrived in this house.

Fettle - hope Toby has not been sick again for you.

OP posts:
fettle · 15/07/2009 09:56

Hi all

luckily we've all had Chicken pox hope theo has it mildly like my two did and not like poor old Marcy. How is max? All back to normal?

Ready. I'd imagine it's hard to relax just waiting and not knowing when it will all happen. This is where I'm glad I was induced both times!

Toby was only sick the once but was out of sorts on Monday morning. Putting it down to teething! He is watching bob the builder at the moment. It is very sweet. He can't watch it without all his bob toys around him. He then picks up whichever charcter is on screen!! I obviously see this as a huge sign of intelligence!!

best get on tidying before summer holidays start this aft!!!

Xxx

Chooster · 15/07/2009 21:26

Aw, Theo does the same Fettle!! Except he is a handy manny fan - I got him the soft tool box with all the tools for his birthday and he loves it - carries it around and has it next to him when he watches and brings out the tools when they are on - I agree it must mean they are super-children

honeyapple · 16/07/2009 13:50

any word from ready? I'm off on hols on sunday- I need baby news soon!!!!

Chooster- hoping it's a mild chicken pox (not too mild though, I think you can get it again if you only have a few spots). Well done Max BTW with his op.

Dex has got oral thrush and is pretty miserable- his mouth looks really sore- anyone else's kids had this? I've got some stuff to put on it but that is not easy to do with an extremely willful toddler. Hope it clears up soon.

Really wanted to look around monsoon sale today in my local high street but Dex just screamed as soon as I went in the shop- he hates shopping- bit of a pain really! Need a few summery tops for holiday...

honeyapple · 16/07/2009 16:46

not sure it is oral thrush now- thinking maybe hand, foot and mouth... taking Dex to doctor in an hour...

greedygreedyguzzler · 16/07/2009 18:31

hand foot and mouth is horrible honey. marcy had it a few months ago and screamed everytime she put anything in her mouth. has he got blisters on his hands and feet too? hope it is thrush as i think that is easier for them to deal with.

is it the pox chooster? hope you and hubbie are getting on better now

came on here for ready news feeling really guilty that i might have missed some news and there still isnt any!

saw my sis yesterday and her bump is HUGE! she has got 5 weeks left. cant wait.................have i said that already!!!

had my nans memorial yesterday which was very emotional, but i think once they are over you feel kind of relieved and much better. i do anyway.

OMG.......just sneezed!.........do you think it's swine flu?

i have had cystitis the past few days. not had it for ages and i had forgotten how painful it is. antibiotics are kicking in now though so its easing off. not sure my marathon sex session on monday night was worth it if i get left with cystitis afterwards!

better go, got a patient waiting outside! how mean am i keeping them waiting while i come on here hey!!
