The old thread was getting impossibly slow on my computer, so decided that it was time to create a new one with hopefully Rah and Ready joining us, and with a whole new due date list.....

so MrsM, Momwi - come and start the list and hopefully Rah and Ready will come here now too!!!!!

I am so excited that the temp buddies are back together again, can you tell?!?!?!?

bodders - can i just say, WOW!!!!! you are officially the coolest person i have never met!!! your blog is fab (although i still dont REALLY get blogs, but then i didnt get facebook for ages either, so im sure i will understand them soon!) you just seem so cool! and so arty! i would love to be more arty, but sadly i'm crap at all things creative!!

i might try and convince dh that we need some stained glass too! i wish i had more money and i would buy loads!!

seaside72 · 28/05/2009 22:45

so sorry about your accident iammumy - but glad you and Herbie are OK

greedy - it was me asking about babylove - Ahh - facebook - I forgot you are all on that - I am on FB but am scared to "reveal" myself to you all!! (yes I am a secret trucker )

bodders - sorry just realised I complimented your font and not your AMAZING stained glass I love the glass plate with the birds - I want one!

Chooster · 29/05/2009 13:16

How are you doing now Iamamummy? Hopefully not sore and doing well. How is little Herbie? Have you got used to calling him his name?

Ah, dont be scared Seaside, we're wont out you as a MN user on FB . We'll be gentle and kind (..... and nosy!!!) .

Love the pics you've put on on FB Greeds - I forget how tall Kiki is!! She's almost up to Ellis isn't she!

Bodders, can't wait to see your blog... I've only MN'd on my work PC the last while and your blog is blocked (probably all that dodgy material you have on there ).

All good here - looking forward to the weekend!

Ready · 29/05/2009 17:17

Hi lovely ladies... how is everyone enjoying this beautiful weather!! I know I shouldn't be so happy and smiley about it, because 6 more weeks of this and I am might just melt. But still - it's glorious.

So, yes... 6 weeks to go. Very nervous, and excited all rolled into one. I have a big bump and am getting too many comments about how big my baby is going to be. Honestly, do these people really think that a first timer really needs to hear that there is potentially a 10lber in her tummy? NO! I guess because I haven't really put on weight anywhere else people don't feel worried about mentioning the enormity of the bump. I am just me with a bit extra hip and a basketball belly.

Bodkin, your blog is fabulous. I adore the elephant.

My nursery has a zoo animal theme. I have just finished painting some canvases to go on the wall. I am looking for a zoo animal cot mobile. I was having problems with the cot, but we got a refund from mothercare and then ordered a different cot from mamasandpapas, and it arrived today - all assembled and looking lovely. So happy.

Ok, I really ought to stop waffling on hadn't I

Hope everyone is well.

xx

Ready · 29/05/2009 17:20

Oh... I am measuring half a cm under the line, so I am not that big really!!!

Ready · 29/05/2009 17:20

Do I sound like I am trying to convince myself? Or all of you?

fettle · 29/05/2009 20:11

Hi All

Been reading, but not typing anything - just being lazy really. Only got 2 weeks left with DH at home full-time - he's off 2 weeks tomorrow and then that's us weekly commuting until September when he is off for 6 months - you'll all be nice to me won't you and look after me.....! Lots of virtual drinks and support will be needed!

Bodders - so good to hear from you. A friend went to the Bath & West Show this week and it reminded me it was on when we met up - can't believe that was a year ago. Do you remember all the rain that fell that evening - I was lucky to get home IIRC!!! Your blog is fantastic - you are so good doing all that craft with your children - I always panic amount mess and painting is just not a common occurence in this house. I just don't have a room that I'm happy having paint it without lots of supervision (am I mean?!) Suppose I could let them paint outdoors if this weather stays up, but I've visions of a coloured house then!!! You're a very talented sketcker as well aren't you - very . DD is always asking me to draw things for her and then being disappointed with my efforts.

Ready - don't worry about your size. Your body will not be growing a baby that you are not capable of giving birth to - apparently we humans are very clever at that. I'm not sure what gives people the right to comment on your size when you are pregnant. Seems to come with the territory. Can't believe you've only got 6 weeks left!! Enjoy it!!

And Rah - can't believe you're so close now too. So fantastic I'm glad it sounds as if you have a good supportive consultant.

Greedy - your photos are fab on FB - I was going to comment on there and say as Chooster said that DD1 really is very lovely and tall isn't she? I assume DS doesn't mind that his little sister is going to be taller than him soon?! How is the contract working out on your clinic?

Honeyapple - hope you are enjoying the sun. Any decision on the NCT training yet?

Mrs - can't believe you're so close either - I hope that DH is better in time and that all goes smoothly for you.

Seaside - come join us on FB. Not sure I've thanked you for your reassurance about Toby speaking and your speech therapist friend? He is definitely saying MMMM now when he sees cows (and sheep!), which I assume is his version of Moo!! So we're getting there slowly!!

Iammummy -what a scare you've had - glad all is well though. You take care of yourself - are you still working nights? Or have I confused you with someone else?

Babylove - hello!!

Chooster - I must message you on FB as I'm coming up to Scotland in July while DH is away working and think I'm going to try a trip to the zoo - thought we could try meeting up if you were free and fancied it? How is work? Is it still pretty depressing or are most of the redundancies sorted? Just realised that an old school friend of mine works for the same company you do - wonder if you know eachother? That would be weird!

Rainbow - how you doing? Hope you're getting some of this good weather too?

Big waves to those I've forgot, but I'd better go.

Hope you all have fab weekends in the sun!

xxx

rainbowdays · 29/05/2009 23:15

Fettle - sorry to hear that your dh has to be away for such a long time. Of course we will be here for you, will you need virtual chocolate cake with the virtual drinks? I do an excellent chocoltate cake online!!!!

Ready - you sound ready (!) for this baby, don't worry about looking big, sounds like you are carrying all out front nicely! I love the sound of your nursary. Have you shared with us your name ideas yet????

Seaside - come on fb and let us see your trucker muscles!!!!

Iam - how are you feeling now?

greedy - wow just you and marcy, it is funny how when you only have one baby, you are overrun with work, but more is somehow easier!!!! ironic.

I am feeling slightly better after a couple of days of nasty cramps, thought yesterday that I was losing the baby, but feeling better and more hopeful today. Have my first scan at the beginning of July.

rainbowdays · 30/05/2009 20:05

hmmm, arrrrhhhh yey eeekkk...... I just don't want to spoil them coming and telling you..... sorry fettle. I have asked them to come and tell, I'm sure they will soon. Though I better go back and tell them I can't keep a secret too long.... not fair on you lot!

What wonderful news!!! How lovely Lottie you will get used to the idea soon - it is a big shock though, so don't be too hard on yourself. Yay, just lovely.

honeyapple · 31/05/2009 19:02

congrats lottie- everything will be fine- honest! ... well I think that twins first time around is better than 2nd or 3rd... or 4th... as you will have nothing to compare it with! (Hope this comes across the right way- in a good way!) And twins have such an amazing friendship/ connection- when will you know if they are going to be identical- or is it more likely with IVF to be 2 seperate eggs? Then you could be extra lucky and get a girl and a boy in one go!

wow isnt the weather fab? Hope those with big bellies are managing in the heat- I am very jealous of you having summer babies .

right better go-

BTW is anyone else's toddlers totally mesmerized by igglepiggle? or it is just Dex?

fettle · 31/05/2009 19:44

Lottie - fab news!! No wonder you're slightly overawed by the thought of two though!! I'm sure you'll get your head round it all though before they arrive. My neighbour had beautiful twin boys last Christmas and they are gorgeous! She's found a lot of support in a local Twin group - perhaps it's worth seeing if you can find one near you for some support/tips now? Stressful to be moving at any time, but while pregnant or with new borns is even worse - I moved in late pregnancy with both my DC so my heart goes out to you and it wasn't even to another country! You will be fine - you strike me as a very strong person. We'll all be here for virtual support as well.

Got to go supper is ready!

Honey - Toby doesn't really like television much, so not into Igglepiggle.

Bodkin · 31/05/2009 22:56

Ooh, how wonderful Lottie! I'm sure it will take a bit of getting used to the idea - am sure there is a lot of support on here in the Multiples section

Ready - make the most of your lovely bump! I seem to remember there was an MNer on here who was pg the same time I was and measuring on the rather mahoosize side...baby turned out to be completely average weight.

Hi Fettle - yes it's about a year ago isn't it - I do remember the rain, it was chaos but I just about missed it. I missed that you were having concerns about Toby's speech - glad to hear your mind is at rest a bit more now.

I am with Seaside on being a shy facebooker. I don't use it that much actually - only to organise stuff with my girlfriends that live just up the road!

Honey - Isla is just not into ITNG at all, much to my disappointment - still bloody Tubbies and Baby Einstein (yawn) and the Wiggles (who I have decided are actually fab and I am developing a very worrying crush on Greg...)

Thanks everyone for saying nice things about my work/the blog! I agree Greedy - I didn't get blogs for ages - but as a way of keeping motivated and inspired (I read a lot of other creative blogs now) it is really good - especially when all you feel like doing is sleeping in front of the telly at the end of the day! It's made me do a lot more with my free time.

rainbowdays · 01/06/2009 09:41

Lottie - yippy!!!! Love the scan picture. And you DO belong here, mow you are our first twins, you have to be here now. I am so happy for you, you have waited so long and the strength to go through everything that you have, shows that you will manage just fine with twins.

As for you ladies with big bellies in this heat, I thought of you yesterday. I managed to have ds1 in the hottest week of the year and remember the big belly / heat issues, phew, feeling exhausted just thinking of it. Hope you are all managing to keep cool and relax.

OP posts:
Ready · 01/06/2009 14:38

That's the thing Bodkin, if I was measuring big with the midwife then perhaps I wouldn't take it to heart so much... but I am half a centimetre under the growth line at the moment. I was just above it earlier in my pregnancy but seemed to have levelled out. I guess I shouldn't worry - but since I have never given birth before, I am terrified that the 2 stone baby I have growing inside is not going to squeeze out

Rainbow, I am enjoying the weather when I can do as I am now, sit in the garden listening to the birds and surfing the web - I do not enjoy it when I have doing the housework, or at night when sleep is difficult enough.

I must say I think being pregnant in the spring/summer has to be the best time for what to wear - flip flops require no bending to put on and I could quite happily live in dresses.

So... how is everyone??

Ready · 01/06/2009 14:39

have BEEN doing housework.

Chooster · 01/06/2009 21:38

OOhhh Lottie, that excellent news!!! . Really really lovely... Are you slowly coming to terms with it? At least you've got a good few more months to get your head round it. I can understand the move must feel daunting too but it will be a great new start and I'm sure you'll make loads of new friends through the twins. Oooh, very exciting!!! .

Hi ready - As others have said you'll be just fine. There will be a perfectly sized little one in there . You probably only look big because the rest of you is still relatively small . Hope you are managing with the heat.

Fettle - I'd love to meet up at the zoo, just let me know when you're up this way. Max has his tonsils and adenoids out on the 6th July so he'll be out of action for a few days but any time around that is generally good for us. Sorry to hear that its getting close to the time DH goes away. even though you knew he was always going to be going, it still must be hard to handle. I'd imagine the run up to it is probably harder than once he's gone? I guess you get used to it after a while? Does your friend work up in Edinburgh? I know a few mutual friends of friends in the bank... Its a big company but worryingly small when it comes to knowing people .

How are you feeling now rainbow? Hope the cramps are gone and you're feeling much brighter?

Hi honey - Yes Theo is an ITNG fan and loves them all - he's got all the characters but saves his special cuddles for Upsy Daisy .

Speaking of my gorgeous little Theo we had a bit of a scare with him today - well DH more than me. DH was looking after them today and Theo slipped on a book and feel into the corner of wall and split his head open. I wasn't there but DH paniced at the amount of blood and called an ambulance for him. I met them at the kids hosptial and got there first and have to admit I got a shock at the amount of blood all over Theo and on DH's clothes. Anyway all is well after a few stitches and lots of cuddles. Theo has been on great form since it happened and doesn't seem bothered and the ambulance was the best bit of Max's day too!!! I think DH has suffered the worst and keeps saying how guilty he feels and that Theo is going to scarred now. But as you'll all know you can't keep them from hurting themselves sometimes even if you standing right there! If he wasn't working tonight he'd be having a stiff drink I think!

greedygreedyguzzler · 01/06/2009 22:27

OMG!!! so much to comment on.

firstly before i forget - chooster - you poor thing, and poor dh..........oh and ds of course!!! i remember when ellis cut his head open (actually I cut it open, but thats another story!) and there was so much blood. i freaked out too! and ended up calling an ambulance and going to hospital. hope he is ok and the cut is in a good place for scarring. ellis' is right across the length of his eyebrow so you can hardly see it.

secondly - WOW!!!! lottie!!!! cant believe i havent seen your news till now!!!! how amazingly fantastic!!! i am so pleased for you and soooooooooooooo jealous!!! always fancied twins!!! you seem like the kinda gal that can cope with anything, you always seem very sensible and level headed so i think twins will be a breeze! congrats!!!

fettle - you are amazing coping when dh is away. i know you dont have a lot of choice, but i still think you must be amazing! dh is away tomorrow night and i hate even one night alone!

hello everyone else, got to go and snuggle in bed now
