The old thread was getting impossibly slow on my computer, so decided that it was time to create a new one with hopefully Rah and Ready joining us, and with a whole new due date list.....

so MrsM, Momwi - come and start the list and hopefully Rah and Ready will come here now too!!!!!

I am so excited that the temp buddies are back together again, can you tell?!?!?!?

Hi all. What a lovely thread. Okay, I am not an original temping buddy, but there are so many faces I know :-) Remember when I posted a while (4 months) ago that I am broody for No 2?
Well: I am 17 weeks pregnant and due in October. N is 17 months now and it took me a year to get my period back. N is fantastic and I would like to go part time to spend more time with him, but we couldn't manage financially :-(
I have moved to Colorado, and am a bit concerned about the swine flu. But this might not be the right forum to discuss this?! Just wonder when exactly I should pull him out of daycare?
Hi to everybody and waves from the snow :-)

glimmer · 29/04/2009 22:30

Congrats Iamamummy and scorpio!

rainbowdays · 30/04/2009 08:19

Hi glimmer, I am just taking the kiddies here to school, but will try to catch up later..... congrats on your pg!

Hey all - very quiet on here...

At least I have excuse in that I've been on holiday last week to Centreparcs (yes, again!!!) and it was ace . I think we'd been a bit spoilt by all the recent good weather and when we had a couple of cold cloudy days I was moaning, but at least no rain. Mind you all DS1 wanted to do was go swimming anyway - he's so proud of himself that he can swim without any bands or anything now. He's still a little too confident about how much he can do but its lovely to see him enjoying it so much. Theo was a little star too and all in all it was a great break. We've also had loads of fun out on the bikes recently and been for some great lond trips out. The result is that I'm slowly losing my desire for another baby. Although another would be nice, I'm just enjoying the freedom of being out of the baby days for a while.... Can't say how long this will last though!!!! Probably only about another 8 hours as one of my close friends is in labout as we speak . Waters went at 1.30am and she's in the middle of being induced. Very excited for her!!!!! So I'll be broody againby tonight .

Whats everyone else up to? I was just thinking that mrsmc must surely only be a couple of weeks away from her due date. Thought it was end of may?

Hope you are all well and happy

Ready · 06/05/2009 10:34

Hi. How is everyone?

9 weeks to go here, very nervous, having a bit of a crisis of confidence too - is that normal? Starting to panic that I won't be a very good mum. In a nutshell, I don't feel like I know anything about babies, and it is really hitting home

The baby has turned breech, which is probably adding to my worries of them getting here safely.

Rainbowdays, so lovely of you to think of me regarding the reusables. I think we are going to try a mixture of the bumgenius and the bumbles - but we have to pop to our local reusable guru first to see what she recommends.

Anyway, it is ever so quiet on here... hope everyone is doing well??

rainbowdays · 06/05/2009 11:18

Chooster - good to hear you had an ace holiday. I was wondering about due dates too, I think MrsMc is first? but I could be wrong.

Ready - yep, crisis of confidence is totally normal at this stage. You will be a good mum, rest assured although it is not easy to trust your own instincts, you will know what is right for your own baby. Try not to get too baffled by too much advice from others, don't think that the midwifes know how to best care for your baby ! You will get lots of different opinions, but what is important is that you find your own way, and you will. The baby may turn back from breech yet too, you have time yet for that.

I am in the horrible 2ww again, but hey feels like old news.

Congratulations Londonlottie - I only know you a little bit from ttc days and i know Greedy will be very excited for you!!! . Great news to get the bfp . The friend I was refering to in my last post conceived on her 3rd round of ivf. She had a little girl at 10.30 last night .

Very normal to get anxious ready - as rainbow says you will be just fine. We were all in the same boat at some point and can guarantee you that we all felt as baffled and confused and worried. As rainbow says trust yourself and dont be worried about asking any question no matter how trivial you think it may be. We are all here for you as well .

Good luck rainbow - how far through the 2ww are you?

Ready · 06/05/2009 17:13

Thanks girls... I thought that it was probably normal, not to mention hormonal to feel so baffled. DH has been amazing, sat with me last night while I blubbed, and just keeps reassuring me. So I know I am lucky and really ought to pull myself together!

LondonLottie OMG! I am so thrilled for you, what lovely news. How very exciting (I also got told by a little birdie that you got married, so congrats on that too!)-- what a year! Everything is crossed for you that it all goes according to plan, goodness knows you deserve it. Hugs

I am in full on nesting mode now that I have stopped work, but tiredness hits hard, better get used to being tired I suppose

Ready · 06/05/2009 17:14

Meant to say before I pressed ... great news about your friend Chooster - hope the labour all went well, what did they name the little girl?

Chooster · 06/05/2009 19:23

Still negotiating the name Ready . She was convinced it was a little boy and refered to the baby as 'he' all the time. As a result they hadn't really decided on a girls name.

seaside72 · 06/05/2009 21:02

Evening lovely TTC grads - I am so sorry I have not posted for ages - no good excuses really - I have been having the occasional lurk to make sure everyone was OK! We have been away/had visitors quite a bit so routines all over the place.

Glad the hol was good Chooster - the center parcs concept is really growing on me I have to admit! We had a fabulous week in a cottage in Northumberland before Easter - it was just beautiful and will hopefully go back one day when Cassius is more appreciative of castles!

Thinking of you in the 2ww rainbow - fingers xed

As everyone says Ready - totally normal to be having those feelings. I remember having a complete panic as I realised I had reached the grand old age of 35 and had never changed a nappy on a newborn and was just about to give birth to one who would be my sole responsibility Of course once he arrived it was just fine - we made a few mistakes but DH and I did everything together for the first few days and we quickly got the hang of it. Like rainbow says - you will know best. What they say about instinct is so true. You will be a brilliant mum

Lottie - OMG so thrilled for you and sending big fab sticky vibes - must confess to a bit of stalking I saw you were on 2nd round of IVF and was keeping everything crossed for you. Hoorah What happens now with the IVF - do you get an early scan?

All is great with us Cassius is walking running everywhere and into everything, but he is good fun too! Really starting to understand things and interact. He has loads of teeth and the molars have given him quite a bit of jip - when does teething end!!!! We have 11 through so I was calculating that means we have another 9 to come - arghhhh!

Anyway - hope everyone else is OK - I have missed so much?? I think birth congrats to Minxi and BFP congrats to Scorpio. Greedy - how is your sis doing?

I must admit to a good dose of broodiness as lots of baby/NCt group friends are popping out #2! I am feeling just like I felt when began TTC - scared to 100% try and scared not to be 100% trying - so weird Actually I am really desperate to be pg again rather than have a baby iykwim??? I just so don't want to get sucked into the stress of TTC and 2ww so am hoping for a happy accident - although I know that will never happen esp as I have just downloaded an ap for my iphone called - iperiod - hilarious it plots your cycles for you - not quite like FF but similar!!! I am a freak I know In my dream world I am getting pg this summer - so I am going to keep visualising that for now!

Better go before I embarrass myself more! Waves to all

rainbowdays · 07/05/2009 11:22

LondonLottie - HEY, BIG CONGRATULATIONS. I am so pleased for you, and I am sure that all the other old temp buddies will be along to congratulate you too. Great news. So will you be our first 2010 baby here, wonderful!

Seaside - I hope you have your happy accident soon too.

Chooster - congrats to your friend, when will you get a chance to go squige the baby?

I am 8dpo,,,, oh the fun of it all.

MrsMc - how are you.

Where is Rahrah, greedy, minxi,,,,,, etc where are you all, it is far too quiet here at the moment!

iamamummy · 07/05/2009 13:45

hello ladies!!!!

lottie - WOW!!!! i am soooo thrilled and excited for you!!! please stay in touch here!!!

rainbow - i hope this month is the month for you, how old is jak now? time has just flown and i am losing track.

ready - have no fear you will be a fantastic mum!! all your thoughts and fears are perfectly normal and it does all come naturally in the end and you learn and make your own mistakes. i hope baby turns for you but you still have a while to go yet. enjoy your last few weeks of rest!!

chooster- sounds like you had a fab holiday congrats on max swimming too! im sure the broodiness will kick in once you see your friends newborn

seaside - i feel you on the little monkeys running everywhere!! and the teething pain, oscar has never really suffered but his back teeth have given him some trouble and now he has the fangs coming through (sorry i get the teeth names muddled so im better off using my own language) so you are not officially ttc but not taking precautions? thats exactly how i fell pg with baby no.2 and it didnt take too long - and was a complete suprise!!

huge hellos to everyone else feels like i have been away for ages.

i have my 20 week scan on sunday, feeling loads of kicks and thoroughly enjoying this pregnancy it has felt so much easier and faster than my pregnancy with oscar. i ask oscar where herbie is and he comes and cuddles and rubs my belly and when he is finished he kisses it, it is so important i try and include him and try and make him understand that a new arrival will be here in a few months. he is so bad when he sees me with other children he goes into complete tantrum mode and i feel so guilty did any of you experience this with your little ones?

well i have a mound of washing waiting for me so better go. love to all xxxx

Chooster · 07/05/2009 14:04

Hi,

Hoping for a cuddle with the littly sometime early next week. My pal had an emergency section so is still in hospital but should be out my tomorrow / sat. Bring on the broodiness . The couple are close friends of ours and once we knew she was being induced, DH was SO excited. He kept texting all day to see if I'd heard anything and has even said that if we had more money he would quite like another. He's not exactly come full circle but this is definately a change of heart from someone who has always said never again! Speaking of which I sometimes wonder how firststar is and whether she ever came to terms with not having another. On the other hand maybe she'll pop back in a year and say she's got another babe - who knows.

Good to hear from you seaside... Sounds like life is good for you all. Are you still property developing? Where in N'land did you go. My parents live on the coast near Alnwick and gorgeous! We love visiting... Good luck with your happy accident - hopefully it will just happen and you wont have to think too much about all the mechanics, although its so hard to tell yourself not to think about ovulation and 2ww.

Actually speaking of all this, can I get some views from you... Contraception (obviously more pertinent for some than others on this thread!). I've just stopped taking the pill i was on as I was bleeding randomly inbetween periods. It just wasn't really working for me and I think I've been a bit grumpier than normal on it . The pill I was on before being pregnant with DS1 is no longer made for some reason and I'm reluctant to work my way through other makes. So.... Where does that leave me... I dont much fancy the coil as I've heard mixed feedback on it and I've still got fettles experience in my mind. Not keen on condoms either... So I've been considering Persona. Has anyone used it or got experience on it? And is there some miracle contraception that I'm not aware of?

iamamummy · 07/05/2009 14:25

aw chooster your dh sounds VERY keen!!! on the contraception front - how about the male jab?! i hope it has been developed more by the time b2 pops out as thats exactly what i have got in mind for dp

greedygreedyguzzler · 08/05/2009 17:44

AAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrggggghhhhhh! just had a big rant at ellis cos he is disecting his dinner going "whats this red bit? whats this black bit? why is this bit hard?......etc!!" AAAAaaarrrrrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhh!!! why cant he just gobble it down like the other two do?!!

................and breathe!!!......

ok, feel better now!!!!

iamamummy - i am sure you must have made some mistake with your pregnancy dates, you can not possibly be 20 wks already. that has just gone way way too quickly!!!

chooster - i am in the same dilema. we have been using crappy condoms since marcy was born and i hate them! dont fancy a coil either. hadnt considered persona so will be interested to hear peoples opinions.

had loads to say, but no time again.

did a pg test on wed cos i realised i hadnt had a period for about 3 months (which is a long time even for my crappy body! )but it was negative obviously..................and i was relieved rather than disappointed!

got to go marcy is squidging her salmon and making a right mess

seaside72 · 08/05/2009 20:39

sympathies with the picky eating frustration greedy we still have that quite often - it is better than it was before Xmas but whenever there are teeth coming or whatever other reason we always have a couple of days of annoying fussiness - it really drives me up me up the wall. 2 days ago after the 5th mouthful was spat on the floor I snatched him out of the high chair and told him very stroppily that he was going to bed with no dinner and only milk. Probably a bit harsh for a 15 month old!!

Iammummy - love the name Herbie BTW

fettle · 09/05/2009 19:43

Hi all

Been catching up on my mobile, but too tricky to post and now I'm finally on the proper puter I've no time, so I'm going to try and remember what's been going on!!!!

Firstly - LOTTIE!!!!!!!! I'm so pleased for you!!! Such fabulous news Can you tell I'm happy for you!! Wishing you a speedy and complication free pregnancy now, you so deserve it!!!

Chooster - don't let my experience put you off the coil. Most people find it great and have no problems and no periods as well so a really good option (not liking having them back, but then I'm over a week late currently, but that's another story! (pretty sure not pg though before you all ask!!, although I have been nesting like crazy for a couple of days and my boobs are agony!!). Sounds as if DH is coming round to another little chooster-ette! Have to say that the thought of another fettle-ette is not an overly positive thought - I'm so enjoying my 2 at the moment and with my reflexology course, I'm not finding I've much time for anything anymore!

Greedy - I'm with you on the picking eating. DD is awful sometimes. I sometimes wonder why I bother cooking for them all the amount of complaints I get!! "are there onions in this?, I don't like leek, I don't like that, I don't like this" "well F*ing cook for yourself then!" I'd like to respond sometimes!!!

Ready - you'll be fabulous mum and as everyone has already said it is normal to doubt yourself. Just don't let anyone let you think you're not doing a good job just because you're doing it differently from them - you WILL know what is best for your baby as you will know her best. Yes, you'll make mistakes, we all do, but you'll learn from them. Just trust your instincts at all times! [and don't always listen to all the advice you're given either!)

What else....?

Iammummy - how was your scan? I agree with Greedy - your pregnancy is going too fast!!!

RAinbow - hang it there - fingers crossed you get the news you want soon!

Right - really have to go now!
Take care all
xxx

fettle · 09/05/2009 19:45

Aw Seaside - meant to say - that I've done that with Toby before now. Mainly because he keeps standing up in his highchair, but he just merrily wonders off and starts playing, so it doesn't really seem to bother him!

Then he climbs back in, when he wants some more, when my back is turned - he really is a little monkey!
