Oh, Lizzie I'm so very sorry

scotlass · 17/12/2008 18:17

lizzie, I'm so, so sorry . It's so cruel to get to past 10wks and find out the baby has not made it, I hope you've got people taking good care of you. It's so bloody unfair

dan39 · 17/12/2008 18:59

lizzie

Wheelybug · 17/12/2008 19:00

Lizzie - I am so so sorry. Please take care of yourself.

bluesatinsash · 17/12/2008 21:15

Oh lizzie - I'm gutted for you . To echo scotlass's words, it's so bloody, bloody unfair.

sausage - was deeply saddened to read your post but all may not be lost...

scotlass - 4th time lucky - you are an inspiration!

LoobyLou36 · 18/12/2008 07:26

lizzie so sorry

dan39 · 18/12/2008 08:46

lastbox I know what you mean about not adding to the list - I think I waited til about 23 weeks so you are by no means unusual!!

Pissed off with dh this morning - I am going to work late (last day but one, yay!!) and have just spent 10 mins clearing up his shit from last night - beer bottles and plates etc. He seems to think we have housework fairies. Also asked him to take washing down to the cellar last night, which he did, but didn't actually put in the machine...AND he pulled the curtain over the door down and left it, its f**kinf freezing in our house. Tosser.

dan39 · 18/12/2008 08:47

I quite like the angry santa face - that's cheered me up a bit...

youknownothingofthecrunch · 18/12/2008 12:23

dan on your behalf - I agree it looks like it's been on the sherry.

Will look into osteo. Thanks.

lizzie so sorry to hear your news.

kd73 · 18/12/2008 13:15

Lizzie - Sorry to hear the scan wasn't good - thinking of you.

Herby - Long time no speak, hope all is going well. Just wanted to say, we got the same result on the NT scan and decided against further invasive testing due to the miscarriages. Have you seen the following? www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/ref/nuchaltranslucency/. Baby is due in just under a week (hopefully) we will then find out for sure, however what a few months ago was a HUGELY worrying time, time will tell whether our LO will be SN and we are just looking forward to meeting our bambino.

joyfuleyes · 18/12/2008 13:43

Lizzie, god that's unfair I'm so sorry.

Glimmer - you too, I'm sorry.

Sausage - un-mumsnetty hugs

Herby that's brilliant news!

Had a bitchy moment this morning when I rolled my eyes after overhearing 'my worst fear is induction' ... if only I were that naive. Feeling loads of movement over the last couple of days (probably all the chocolate Ive been eating in between the puking).

MissyH · 18/12/2008 15:03

hello - my first post. am terrified - have early scan tomorrow (8 weeks) after miscarriage at 9 weeks earlier this year (having had miscarriage at 11 weeks in 2005 and then thankfully ds1 in Oct 2006). Have felt much more pg this time... with sickness, sore boobs etc, but also loads of crampy pains back and tummy, and a bit of spotting at the weekend Both previous miscarriages ended at around 6-7 weeks and were missed... so tomorrow is supposed to be "reassurance" but am absolutely fearing the worst - and checking my pants at every every opportunity! just needed to write this down to acknowledge my terror and share a prayer.

maz32 · 18/12/2008 17:07

hi lizzie so sorry to hear your news, take care of yourself, thinking of you xxxxxxxxxx

Wheelybug · 18/12/2008 17:27

Just popping in to see if there's any news from Cece following her midwife appointment ? Hope everything went ok Cece...

Waves to everyone else.

Welcome MissyH - hope all goes well at the scan.

joyfuleyes · 18/12/2008 17:48

cece hope you're okay.

missy, fingers crossed. I'm always terrified before scans.

cece · 18/12/2008 18:02

Glimmer, Sausage - hope things are OK for you. Sausage, you never know things may be OK. Anyway heres hoping you are both back here soon.

Herb - great news about the scan

lizzie - sorry to hear your news and hope all goes as well as it can tomorrow.

missyH - goo d luck for tomorrow too.

Oh and all well here, sorry I rushed in and went straight out to my work christmas do last night. MW was the one who dealt with me after Hope, so it was nice to see her again. She found HB fairly easily. Sounded like galloping horses, but she said that is no indication of gender till 38 weeks... She has very kindly agreed to listen in again on Xmas eve next week. In fact she didn't really have an appt but has put me onto the end of her clinic list So hoping that will see me through xmas.

I actually went and bougth some maternity clothes today - blooming marvelous and jojomamonbebe both have sales on, so got some bargains. However, since my last pg the trousers now all seem to be under bump ones! Having trouble finding the higher ones at all....

Wheelybug · 18/12/2008 18:54

Phew Cece - you had me worried there (note to self: get a life and stop worrying about people you've never met before ). Glad all is well and that your MW is sympathetic.

I have 28 week growth scan in the morning and then consultant appointment. Am getting nervous.

herbaceous · 18/12/2008 19:17

I don't believe I've said how sorry I am for Lizzie, Sausage and Glimmer. It really is the worst. I feel all strange just thinking about another MC. Stay strong ladies. But not all the time...

I thought that my 12-week scan would put my mind at rest, but that pesky NT result has got me all worried. And seeing Cromwell there on the screen made me feel so protective of him, I wanted to reach in there and hold his hand. The thought of anything being wrong with him is so much worse now.

Wheely, in answer to your question earlier, I didn't get a 1:xx risk factor, as I'm waiting for the results of the blood test. Apparently if they make me high risk they'll phone in the next couple of days, otherwise I'll get a letter. Which will no doubt get delayed in the xmas post. I think I'll start pestering them on Monday for the results. After all, if I have to have CVS it will be over the xmas break, so I'll need to get organised, as I bet all the consultants will be off playing golf in the Bahamas, or something...

SparkyMalarky · 18/12/2008 20:04

Lizzie, Sausage, Glimmer - hugs to you all. Haven't been posting for a while but been lurking and I'm so sorry to read your news..fingers crossed you'll be back very soon.

Herby - great news on the scan but understand how worrying the nuchal result...remember it gets a bit higher the further along you are (so for example - what would be scary high at 11+5 is less so at 13+1 ) and after mine I am sure that they said anything under 3 is normal (will check in my Zita West book next time I go upstairs!) My bloods were with me in a week so will keep everything crossed for a good result.

Cece - so pleased that you heard the HB and mw is being lovely (it seems almost impossible to get hold of mine!)

MissyH - good luck tomorrow

Hello to everyone else - can't believe that we'll soon be getting ready for the next graduates very soon....how you all feeling ladies

Am all fine here - 19 weeks tomorrow and I think I can feel some movement (have more 'padding' on my tummy than last time tho'!) but think I'm coming down with a UTI . Need to pee all the time but (sorry TMI) can't really go! Feel fine, no temp or anything so going to drink a gallon of cranberry juice to flush out my system....and also wondering whether my increasing bump is pressing on my bladder (Dan - didn't you have a top tip ages ago about rocking forward when you wee? Will have to try that....)

21 week scan on 8 Jan (at 22 weeks so will find out the flavour then. Am so worried about it all tho still....haven't seen a MW (allegedly next week) so haven't heard a hb or seen the bean for weeks....but (so far at least) have managed to resist renting/buying a doppler!

Blimey - epic post after nothing for weeks

OP posts:
dan39 · 18/12/2008 22:55

hi sparky nice to see you! Twas not me rocking on the loo tho I have had a few UTI's..would say see doc for antibiotics if the juice desn't work really quickly. And haven't you done well on the old hb/doppler front!!

Also the rocking on the loo made me smile as at 33 weeks what I wouldn't give to be ABLE to rock forward!!! No one told me about the difficulties in bum wiping at the latter end of pg?? (sorry if tmi)

Finishing work tomoro and can't WAIT. Am thinking of a doula - any experiences out there? Mostly cos not sure of dh's ability to be assertive should things go medical...

Good friend having c section tue due to previous surgery - not sure to be jealous or sympathetic?! She is a bit weepy actually, I think its making it all a bit unreal for her. Can't wait to see her lo as next one I see will be mine!

Missy hi - your fear is very normal in these parts...fingers crossed for your scan tomoro...

LoobyLou36 · 19/12/2008 07:50

missyh good luck today

Wheelybug · 19/12/2008 16:22

Herby - do chase your results by phone. Mine was in the summer (so nothing like Christmas to get in the way) and they still took 2 weeks.

MissyH - hope you got on ok.

I had my 28 week growth scan this morning and consultant appointment. Everything was fine. The baby is still hovering around average sized (dd 3rd centile from 22 weeks), blood pressure, urine all fine. Had the big discussion on delivery and the registrar I saw and I seemed to be more or less singing from the same hymn sheet. He was very supportive of VBAC and when I questioned about whether there was a hard and fast rule about continuous monitoring he was relatively relaxed and said if all seemed ok there wouldn't be a need for continuous monitoring but intermitent. However, he did say it would depend very much on who was on shift at the time which I remember from last time ! Better get booked into the active birth class !!

All seems to be getting a little bit more real !

MissyH · 19/12/2008 17:37

Hi all - thanks for your good luck messages - I have had the scan (thought I was going to be sick beforehand, I was so nervous). Anyway - all good and there is a heartbeat so am feeling mighty relieved. I know it is not the end of the road by a long shot, but at least we are on our way

Lizzie - I was so sorry to read of your news - having been through the heartache twice before I know exactly how you feel. My thoughts are with you as you come to terms with what has happened and hopefully can look forward in the future... not an easy time though.

xx

joyfuleyes · 19/12/2008 17:44

Missyh - hope it went well

Wheelybug - that sounds like good news

cece, good news too - I love that sound

I have had one those days. Felt ill when I woke up, had a listen to baby (all fine), felt worse & very odd (dizzy/hot/achy & no movements) so I called my community midwife who offered to fit me into clinic this afternoon. Urine was fine but BP was a bit high (probably anxiety) & then she had trouble finding the hb. I couldn't believe it, in the end she had to stop because my heart was racing (my pulse was over 120 which made it even harder) - she thought she heard a couple of times & there was some movement but it was hardly reassuring. Phoned dh in floods of tears when I got home then had a listen myself & found it. I'm still shaking & completely second guessing myself - am I feeling movement? Was it really the hb?

I had an optimistic day yesterday & have decided that today was punishment for that.

joyfuleyes · 19/12/2008 17:45

x-posted - missy, excellent news
