Curses - might have been rumbled! He looked through the drinks card to find out what cocktails I'd been drinking, and finally worked out they're all non-alcoholic. On the other hand, he's a bloke, so is perfectly capable of not having worked it out!

Night all!

daisyj · 26/09/2008 17:12

Thanks, dan, that's what I was hoping to hear! It's so hard to be a good judge of these things first time around. I am reassured at the signs of growth, I must say. I'm quite short-waisted so I expect that's why I'm already looking pretty round in the middle . I'm going to get DH to start doing bump pics, I reckon.

ronshar · 26/09/2008 21:49

DaisyJ. I just wanted to say a little sorry to you. I read your post on Oct thread and I have only just put two and two together and realised that you are Daisy from the Oct thread at the beginning. I feel a bit ashamed that I have been onhere and moaning about being late etc when you should have been here with me. I hope you havent thought I was being really insensitive to you because I so completely would never be like that. Damn pregnant brain.

MM. for you and DH. As Popsy said it is so very shit.

Splishy Fantastic news, a little baby in 2hrs and no tears. I want me one of those Congratulations to you and a big kiss for baby.

Scotlass, great news for you with your scan. Hope it is all plain sailing for you now.

I hope every one else is well.

Popsy, ipod play lists. You have too much time on your hands obviously

tsom · 27/09/2008 08:07

just had the chance to check back in - fell asleep early evening with ds 1 and 2 past few evenings - mm to hear about your news, take care and I hope next week is as gentle for you as possible.

scotlass hope you are feeling reassured now - at least for a while. just remember the statistics are very much in your favour at this stage with a fh seen

splishy congrats - enjoy your new dd, so sweet to hear about dd1 too

Wheelybug · 27/09/2008 13:37

Hi All - I'm back - sorry haven't been around for weeks but DH has just got out of hospital after 3 weeks. He had apretty nasty time of it as it turned out he'd developed a condition where by his immune system does funny things and makes inflammation in various places. This got particularly worrying when it went to his brain. He's now having to relearn a lot of things (like walking) and will be off work for about 3 months. Yikes. All a bit scarey but hopefully he's on the up now.

MissEdith and MM - I'm so sorry to hear your news, it really is shit. MissEdith - I remember speaking before (under your 'proper' name) about being local and running too.

Splish splosh - congrats !

The worry of DH pretty much means I have now got to 16 weeks without realising it and not having much time to worry about whats going on in my tummy. I am so huge - people keep asking when its due and trying to hide their surprise at March ! Thankfully though its all out the front and I think its because I am a midget. Have developed hip pain which seems to be alleviated if I sleep with a pillow between my knees. Was still being sick up to 2 days ago but haven't for 2 days - I was not expecting it to go whilst I was so worried about DH and dashing here there and everywhere so am hoping now DH is home it might be settling. Am beginning to feel movement too which is great.

Will try and keep up a bit better now (will probably be glued to MN whilst stuck in the house to keep DH company)

dan39 · 28/09/2008 15:17

wheely poor you - no wonder you have not had time to worry specifically about the pregnancy! But congrats on getting him home and on reaching the lofty heights of 16 weeks - bump and all! Goo luck on the nausea passing - mine stopped at around then, tho I still feel funny if I don't eat and drink enough so be warned!!

hope things go okay with dh.

Wheelybug · 28/09/2008 17:11

Thanks Dan - think I spoke too soon on the sickness as I was sick this morning. Ah well. 2 days off was good . Actually, it didn't stop with dd until about 18/19 weeks but this time it started 2 weeks earlier so was kind of hoping it might stop 2 weeks earlier. Nevermind - its worth it !

SesHasapinkline · 28/09/2008 21:26

Am posting to ask for sticky thoughts...
Have first scan tomorrow. Should be about 7+5. Have never had a good scan with a good outcome and am finding it hard to imagine anything different. Only good thing is that it's an early scan at 9.30. Keep everything crossed for me girls...

(Sorry for me, me, me post...)

Wheelybug · 28/09/2008 21:32

Good luck Ses. Fingers crossed here for you.

SnoopDog · 28/09/2008 22:08

lurks still

SparkyMalarky · 29/09/2008 08:40

Fingers crossed for you today Ses...and lots of sticky thoughts...

joyfuleyes · 29/09/2008 08:46

Ses, good luck & fingers crossed.

SesHasapinkline · 29/09/2008 12:00

Thanks for all your good wishes and sticky thoughts!
It worked!!
Bean measured 8 weeks and good heartbeat

Thanks to you all and this thread for helping keep me sane over the last few weeks. I'm going go me hanging around a bit longer after all!

Aniyan · 29/09/2008 12:20

Fantastic news, Ses - so pleased for you

mm1509 · 29/09/2008 12:22

ses still lurking around and so glad to hear about your scan. Keeping the sticky thoughts coming to you all.

daisyj · 29/09/2008 13:54

ronshar - I never thought for a second you were insensitive. You are clearly concerned about everyone on here (including me ); we all come here to gripe and for a sympathetic ear as well as to give support to others, and I?ve always found you to be really sweet and considerate, so please don?t give it another moment?s thought

Wheelybug - ? poor you. Glad your DH is on the mend, but how worrying for you both. I too am a fat midget with hip pain , so I empathise with you there. Lovely to feel movement ? how fab

Ses - lovely news, so pleased for you ? first hurdle over (well, second, after getting pg in the first place!).

Tried my doppler out last night. Took a while, and had to go so low the sensor nearly ended up in my fanjo, but found bean?s hearbeat eventually . We?ve taken to calling him/her Bo, after a friend told me about a social worker friend of hers who?d visited a family who had called their child Bojangles (not sure if that?s why the social worker was visiting them, though). And I?d better hope the mum isn?t an MNer, although I somehow doubt it!

ronshar · 29/09/2008 15:58

Thank you Daisy.
Good news for you & DH Wheely. Sorry about you still being sick though. Thats no fun. 16 weeks excellent.

I will have a baby listening thing I will be getting rid of (hopefully) in the next couple of weeks. If anyone is interested let me know. It helped get me through horrible weeks while waiting for 20 weeks scan.

FlossieF · 29/09/2008 16:57

Hello everyone! Still in Beijing, but after 7 days of meetings, and 14 formal Chinese meals, now on free time. We celebrated like a couple of plebby tourists, by going to the Hard Rock cafe for dinner! Going to visit the Bird's Nest tomorrow to pretend we are Olympic athletes (which is an even bigger joke than normal considering how much exercise I've done in the last 2 months).

Wheelybug - sorry to hear about your DH's illness. Glad to hear he is on the mend, and that you are OK though.

Ses - more good news! Hurrah!

Ronshar - if everything goes well at my 12 week scan next week, would definitely be interested in a baby listening thing. 12-20 weeks does sound a long time. At the moment, just focussing on getting to 12 weeks, so if someone else will committ to taking it off your hands before I can, I'll understand if you make arrangements with them.

dan39 · 29/09/2008 16:58

ses great news - I know what you mean about dreading bad news at scans so its great to be able to put that one to bed a bit! Do you have to wait now til 12 week?

mm hi again, hope you are getting thru this, still thinking about you and missedith partic when grumping about sore tummy...

snoop you are a wonderful ad for chilled out, 'ladies who lunch lurk' stress free mothering with all your hanging out here! Hope to follow in your footsteps!

Had another paranoia GP visit this a.m. but lovely one not in (GP that is)so I had to see new one - man - blubbed all over the place like a t*t until he offered to do the listening thing. Then he didn't help me get off the bed thing til I asked - hah men eh. But he did let me hear the heart so I am (briefly) calm.

Anyone used a baby hammock? Am keen tho they are pricey....any experiences? There is a thread on here on the Amby ones, seem quite popular, tho I can imagine my family being horrified at anything so hippy-ish...

joyfuleyes · 29/09/2008 17:40

Ses that is fabulous news

Scans are so fucking terrifying aren't they?

GP did my prescription without any hassle & I have an appointment with the midwife in 2 weeks which is pretty good. Consultant will scan me at 7 weeks so I'm using that as my fist mini-goal.

Apart from hating the smell of water I've got no real symptoms, am incredibly anxious & can't sit still, the house is far too clean because I'm using housework as a distraction technique

SesHasapinkline · 29/09/2008 17:59

Thanks guys
Am v relieved and now just have to prepare for moving house on thurs by taking it as easy as possible!

mm - thank you for posting. I hope your coping as best you can and have plenty of RL support.

Take care everyone and lots of sticky thoughts all round.

SparkyMalarky · 29/09/2008 18:21

Ses - am so pleased Take it easy with the move

Am having a mild panic. My GP referred me to my hospital 12 days ago for antenatal care, and specifically requested an early scan at 7/8 weeks.

Now - have heard NOTHING. Am 7+3 and am starting to panic about the whole thing (despite being up between 2 and 5x each night for a wee!) as with the last pg, the hospital was so pants about AN care, I never heard anything from them before my ERPC at 9+5.

In meetings tomorrow so can't call my GP until Wednesday, which realistically means at least another week until a scan at best. AAARGH. am starting to feel this one is jinxed too

Wheelybug · 29/09/2008 18:27

Thanks for all your kind words about DH . LOL Daisy at 'fat midget with hip pain' - sadly that seems to describe me to a 't' at the moment !!

Joyful - scans are terrifying aren't they and they sooo shouldn't be. I have had 3 so far - each of which I was terrified there would be no baby. I am now preparing for 22 week scan where we will find out if baby has the same issues as dd - growth restriction (or any other issues of course), then I will have at least another 4 or 5 scans after that again to check for same thing (or monitor same thing if present). I think I will only be relaxed if I make it to my scheduled 40 week scan (dd had to come out at 37 weeks) ! I guess we're lucky we have this technology though.....

Wheelybug · 29/09/2008 18:28

Also meant to say - Sparky - could you phone EPU direct and see if they've got the referal ?

Swaliswan · 29/09/2008 18:45

Good evening, Ladies.

It is really helping me to be able to come on here and see that other people are descibing exactly how I feel. I'm 10+4 today and still haven't heard from the midwife although I've been told that they do have me in the system. I'm not that bothered about seeing the midwife (am terrified of her using a doppler tbh) apart from the fact that she has to refer me for my dating scan. I can't see that happening at 12 weeks now (sad)
