tiny sips of coke helped me loads! NOT diet, has to be full sugar. I had evening sickness with my last pregnancy.

With DS2, those travel band accupressure things you wear on your wrist helped.

HTH
and sympathies

Cosmogirl · 13/08/2008 21:02

Thanks Hopey I have tried the full fat coke and you are right it does soothe the nausea a little. I was always a caffeine free diet coke girl before but can't face the thought of those at the minute! So bizarre....

vannah · 13/08/2008 22:03

salt and vinegar crips, and 7up/sprite...
hope you feel better soon

Cosmogirl · 14/08/2008 17:14

Hi ladies,

How are you today? I had a sick day today, have been feeling really low and the nausea seems much stronger today. Have struggled to eat much today which has prob made things worse. Just the mere thought of food is making me feel ill at the moment

surprisenumber3 · 14/08/2008 17:31

Help, only 4-5 weeks and have felt sick and dizzy all day. It's my sisters wedding today and I'm chief bridesmaid and DS1 and Ds2 are pageboys, it's gonna be awful to be feeling like this! I've got to be in hairdressers for 8 am and haven't told anyone I'm pg yet!

Got stabbing pains in my cervix a bit too, anyone else got this?

surprisenumber3 · 14/08/2008 17:32

meant to add, I just can't eat. I have tried and managed half a sandwich and a few salt and vinegar crisps. Feel miserable

Dotty38 · 14/08/2008 17:47

Hiya.

I missed you yesterday was so busy and then got home and just went straight to bed wihtout eating, sleep seemed like the best thing but my god did I pay, woke up at about midnight feeling so bad and stomach actually started retching. Managed to sip some lemonade and half a rich tea bic then back to bed but never really got back off to sleep so today has been rusbbish. Sick feeling seems to be crancking up a gear today I think because I'm exhausted after rubbish nights sleep it's loads worse. Heres hoping for a better day tomorrow.

Sorry todays been bad again Cosmogirl, it really does get you down as it's so hard to deal with. I really didn't expect it to be this bad at all.

I have my seabands on today and I haven't noticed an improvement. Going to keep trying them though and adjust position as loads of people on this thread have recommended them.

The 11 week continuouse rise in HGC levels is good and bad - good that it drops off I suppose (well fingers crossed) but I really don't fancy another 4 weeks of constant nausea! So.....counting down to the 12th week for some nausea relief

I had a scan on Tuesday (long story, but they suspected an ectopic on week 4 so I've been backwards and forwards to the hospital for check ups until now) was given the allclear by the Doc on Tues which was great. Plus saw baby's heart beating, which was very emotional to saw the least! Anyway, the Dr and nurses there kept on really praising my nausea and said that it's a good sign of a healthly pregnancy. So I just keep re playing that in my head at the mo!

I'm sorry for my long posts. I get very excited replying and get carried away. So apologies for ranting on!

Hi Dotty - it is just a nightmare isn't it? You don't want to eat, but if you don't you end up paying a heavy price for it.....People keep saying the same to me about the sickness being a good sign, but I am finding it really hard to find comfort in that at the minute. Know that sounds bad....

Congrats on seeing the heartbeat Must be reasurring to know that everything is going ok.

Think I might try to eat a slice of pizza tonight, though I feel to nauseous to eat at all. This has to start getting better soon!

Hi Surprise3 - sorry to hear you are suffering with the dreaded MS too. I have lost few pounds in the last week because I have very little appetite. When the MS first started, eating really helped. Now food has become the enemy and the mere thought of it makes me feel worse.... Feel free to join us on the thread. It helps to have the support of others feeling equally as crappy.

shish · 14/08/2008 20:41

Hi girls. I am so tired today. Went to sleep ofr a little while in the daytime when ds was sleeping. Got the seabands too so will give those a go. The only thing is I haven't told people and they're glaringly obvious!

I have been managing too - mainly junk though - as I'm finding that letting myself get too hungry is my worst enemy.

So gad you've had the all clear dotty. That must be such a relief for you. I remember having to have that early scan with ds cos we had a simlar scare. You have to try and eat something thought - anything - you need that sleep, it's so important Otherwise, you just feel so much worse. I feel it's like a vcious circle the nausea makes the tiredness worse and vice versa!

Hi Surprise3 - You poor thing. You sound like you're really suffering. I haven't had the stabbing pains that you're describing. Do you think aybe you should seek medical advise. I have been feeling quite crampy on and off.

Hope you all manage a good night's sleep and have a reasonable day tomorrow x

Dotty38 · 14/08/2008 21:19

Hi Suprise 3

I'm sorry I didn't say hello before I got so carried away writing a post I missed yours.

But you're not alone with the sickness, it is truly awful, but at least we can all support each other on this thread, which is ace.

With the pains I've had lots of different pains some dull crampy pains (like period pains) and some sharp pains. Everything I've read states it's quite normal as your body starts adjusting and growing. But if you're worried go to the GP.

Heres to a good nights sleep tonight!!

try Vit B6, it has really worked for me. And try and eat really good nutritious food, I know its probably the last thing you feel like having but I found if I ate crisps and white toast etc which was what I fancied, it was OK at the time but later I felt worse. Fruit, brown rice, seeds, vegetables, all that kind of stuff - didn't fancy them but if I could get some down it really seemed to level out my blood sugar and I felt a lot better. I'm at 12 weeks now and nausea is definitely on the way out, in fact I just stopped taking the B6 as I think I'm OK now -hang in there and hope you feel better soon.

Cosmogirl · 15/08/2008 07:48

Thanks Malloo - it really helps to hear from people who have been through it and are now starting to feel better. We need to know there is an end in sight!

Dotty38 · 15/08/2008 13:45

Hiya

Malloo that's encourageing. You're right about white bread and crisps, as we speak I've got a slice of buttery white toast to try and munch on. I'm going to try and eat more wholesom food and look into B6, what dose did you take?

Today is turning into a wipe out for me, feel awful, have done hardly any work, all I can think about is feeling sick. I've had my sea bands on but I've not noticed any improvement . In fact I've taken them off as they can get quite uncomfortable not to mention other people wondering why your sporting a lovely pair of gray elastics around each wrist!

Had better and try and do some work now!

Cosmogirl · 15/08/2008 16:32

Hi Dotty,

Sorry to hear you're having a bad day. Afraid it is a similar story over here. I'm just so fed up of it now.....Know what you mean about the sea bands - not the most subtle things in the world are they? Plus, it is too warm to wear long sleeves all the time to cover them up.

Meant to be showing my face at a friend's 40 th tonight. Really want to go but just feel so rubbish that I'm just not sure I can face it......

My sister sent me a bag of rhubard and custard hard boiled sweets and sucking them helps a bit with the nausea. They last ages but as soon as you stop sucking the nausea comes back again

Cosmogirl · 16/08/2008 10:55

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh SOO fed up now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FruitynNutty · 16/08/2008 19:28

Breadsticks! I discovered this last week

sarahsmummy · 16/08/2008 19:44

If you don't fancy sweet stuff, I ate loads of mini cheddars; crystallised ginger, too

shish · 16/08/2008 20:59

Hi girls. Sorry I didn't post yesterday. Ds has been unwell with teething and this has completely wiped me out! Feel like I am living on reserve energy and will crack any time soon. I'm already getting quite bad heartburn too. Didn't have this till the last trimester with ds. Don't know how much longer I can go on feeling so crap and tired!! Nausea not too bad today but just can't function properly. Hope you guys are ok

Is it safe to take B6??

Cosmogirl · 17/08/2008 19:05

Hi girls,

Sorry to hear DS has been unwell, Shish. Can't imagine having to look after a child while feeling like this. You have much admiration from me!

Had booking appt with midwife today. All went ok. Will find out tomorrow if I got into the hospital I wanted. It is in a different county so won't get in automatically.

Had bloods taken and surprised myself by being very brave. I even went as far to say that I'd rather have a needle stuck in my arm everyday than experience nausea...shame there's not an option!

Not sure on the B6.....maybe do a search on it on old threads and see if anything turns up?

shish · 17/08/2008 20:49

Hiya,

I'm so tired again. My appetite seems to have gone down over the last couple of days aswell..

OP posts:
Dotty38 · 17/08/2008 21:36

Hi there girls.

I've had a very hectic few days, went over to see the in-laws on Friday. Then we had friends over last night. Both had been planned for a while otherwise there's no way I'd have arranged it feeling the way I do. But to be honest I think I've over done it as I've felt so bad today, not just sick but achey (especially my legs) and I've had a banging headache. But I feel bad cancelling things and keep telling myself to just try and get on with it as so many other women seem to function normally in the 1st trimester. My poor other half has really had a hard day today he couldn't do anything right and I've just sniped at him all day (feel quite guilty )

Shish you get my admiration too coping with looking after your ds. You need a medal.

Cosmogirl I'm suprised they ask this early about where you want to have the baby? I'd have the choice of three places and I wouldn't have a clue at the minute. I've got a midwife app. on Tuesday so I wonder if it's the same here? Will have to wait and see.

Going to retire back to my bad in a minute seems to be the only place for me today!

Hope this week improves for us all

Cosmogirl · 18/08/2008 07:41

Hi Dotty and Shish,

Woke up early as usual this morning feeling sick and hungry at the same time. I knew that having a baby would mean lie-ins would be a thing of the past, I just didn't realise I'd have to give them up this early! Keep thinking one morning I will wake up and the nausea will be gone but no such luck today

Dotty - well done for socialising. I have cancelled all engagements for the foreseeable future. Feeling as I do I am just no fun and all I seem to do is complain about feeling sick. Good luck for your MW appt on Tuesday.

8 weeks tomorrow - am wishing these next few weeks away!

xx

Cosmogirl · 18/08/2008 17:19

Woah.....just managed to stop myself vomiting! That was close....too close...Have eaten two crumpets - hopefully that will settle stomach for a bit This seems to be getting worse rather than better....

Dotty38 · 18/08/2008 19:28

Well done Cosomogirl!

I'm going to attempt Crunchy Nut Cornflakes for tea. It's all I fancy! So so nutritious...not but just going to go with what my head says eat and tonight it's Crunchy Nut Cornflakes (Actually it'll be the fourth bowl today!)

Well almost another day closer to tweleve weeks.... each day at a time!
