Happy due date babylove!! Fingers crossed it all kicks off soon!! . Very excited for you .

And congrats MrsMc on a good nuchal result . Aw, a beautiful little girl! Lovely . Is your mum a bit more relaxed about it all now? And did you ever go to your follow up meeting with your Dad?

Not got long but just wanted to say that Theo was the same seaside. He would throw up at hi highchair at least a couple of times a week for what felt like months. I hated feeding him at people's houses or out as I was never show if a huge hurl was going to happen. He still does it now every now and again when he is either under the weather or teething. Its unnerving though isn't it and I found it pretty demoralising. But it does get better and with age and once those pesky teeth are in! Theo is STILL in teething hell at the moment - but he's coping a lot better as he's just that bit older. As greedy says just feed him what he will eat and he will definately make up for it when he's up to it. Tonight Theo gagged on the salmon I did for him and I didn't want to chance a puke so all he had was yogurt and banana and custard.

Good luck to those with thought so ttc - it can be so hard not obsessing about it all the time. As far as age gaps go we are loving the 3 years we have between the boys. For us its working out well and Max has adjusted without any problems at all. He loves his little brother and is able to help me with him. He loves playing with Theo and trying to teach him things.

I know I've missed tons but need to do some exercise tonight and if I dont do it soon I never will! All is good here... Registered Max for his school today - I know he doesn't start til August but its goig to fly by.

seaside72 · 24/11/2008 21:20

Oh bugger - I just typed a lovely long post thanking everyone for their input and advice individually and then lost it - arghh

Thankyou everyone for all your reassurance and advice - {{{hugs }}} all round

Cassius and I came down with a diarrhoea bug at the weekend I was on my knees and just wanted to curl up under the duvet! Cassius as ever dealt with it brilliantly and only cried when having his poor sore bum wiped. Luckily we both seem fine today. Don't think it had anything to do with the volcano vomiting though? Chooster - reassuring to hear that Theo has been the same - I think they must be similar. Likewise today we had 2 spoons of chicken and then the "gag" and I have learnt to stop at the first gag now so we just ended up with yogurt and fruit puree!

greedy - thanks for your lovely post as always - LOL about my bump! I am not sure the second bump would be so good as I had stomach muscles then!!

MrsMc - a girl !! How wonderful - I am very !!!

rainbowdays - have been there with the feeding standing up also tried sitting on the kitchen counter, in buggy etc etc !!

Glimmer- I think when you LO is on the low end of the centiles you always panic about them dropping down. Good to hear Noam is back on track - hope Cassius follows suit

babylove - hang in there hon Soon we will all be wondering where you are and you will be off having a baby!!

Better get back to my tax return

honeyapple · 24/11/2008 22:44

good luck babylove

seaside- my DS1 used to gag all the time- he had trouble having too much in his mouth- so i had to feed him tiny mouthfuls. He is pretty fussy with his eating still (nearly 10)- I guess some children are just 'super tasters'. In comparision my DD will shove HUGE mouthfuls of food in and eat pretty much anything...

blimey it is late for me...

night night

babylove123 · 25/11/2008 20:04

Hey everyone,

Chooster - Grrr i'm still pregnant! Nooooo! Awww poor little theo teething

Seaside - sorry to hear you and cassius have been poorly - hope everything is getting better for you. It feels like this baby is never coming out!

Honey - thanks for the luck, i need it!

Well i went to see the midwife today for my 40 week check up. She said i was fine, my BP was v slightly raised but urine clear so not worried. TBH, i'd just rushed over from the post office taxing my car and i was SO hot, been having hot flushes all day, plus im coming down with a cold so im not surprised it was a little higher than normal! I asked her for a sweep........now i know these are classed as "uncomfortable" but i have never experienced such awful pain. She really was digging for fossils up there - im surprised she didnt get all the way up to my brain! Considering she was feeling the babys head internally but my cervix was closed shut - says it all! She warned me it could cause a show but her glove was covered in blood. I waddled out into the car park and stood having a contraction! I drove home and went to the loo and was bleeding quite badly. I rang them and they said to keep an eye on it - its stopped now. Frightened me a bit.

Anyway, as for the reflexology - im miffed. i drove all the way there and she sat me down and said she'd changed her mind and now wouldnt do the treatment on me as i wasnt overdue enough. She said she wldnt do it till i was 2 weeks overdue - uh, too late, i'll be induced medically by then! She offered to do a normal treatment to relax me - well at £35 no thanks! So i said no thanks and left. Not impressed, she could have bloody phoned me!

Anyway, must scoot

Chooster · 25/11/2008 20:28

God, what a day babylove!! Childbirth will be nothing compared to your day today . I can't believe the reflexologist refused to do it once you were there! Does she not know that women are generally induced earlier than 2 weeks overdue. Ouch at the sweep! Hope the bleeding stays away, and that it starts something soon for you. As you are now overdue, we need to start sitting on the edge of our virtual seats .

honeyapple · 25/11/2008 22:22

oh poor you babylove... in some way I reckon babies come when they are ready- and no amount of prodding/massaging/pin sticking makes any difference... Try and rest as much as possible especially if you are feeling under the weather- you will need all your energy to have the birth you want. Fingers still crossed, and looking forward to your news .

babylove123 · 26/11/2008 09:52

Hi Everyone,

Well i had an eventful night! Was a little niggly yesterday evening and around midnight i sat up in bed and woke DP up saying "this bloody hurts!!!!" I've had strong BH's before but this was summot else! We timed them and they were coming every 10 - 12 mins and were strong! About 1am i rang the labour ward to ask what to do - didnt know if i should be up and moving to try and encourage it or to go to sleep. They told me to try to sleep - well it didnt happen. DP dozed between contractions but i couldnt! At 2.30am, i got up and went downstairs, DP followed and we chatted, made a cup of tea etc and he helped me through them. Still coming at every 10 mins or so and last 75 seconds. At 5.30am i decided to go for a shower as my hair was looking a little worse for wear - big mistake it seems. Whether the warm water has done it i dont know but the contractions suddenly dropped off. Went down to every 20 mins, then every 30 and only lasting 40 seconds.......now they're prob only every 45 mins.

Have been for a walk this morning and had one on the way and 1 when i got back but now nothing again. Am miserable - i seriously thought something would be going on by now. I just dont know what to think now......

rainbowdays · 26/11/2008 11:47

babylove - oh I feel for you. It is so hard when you think, at last this is it, and then it all comes to a grinding halt. I really hope it happens soon for you. Just think of last night as good practice for your breathing technique and now focus on today. Do try to keep active today, and see what happens, but rest is important too, so have a nap at sometime to catch up on last nights missed sleep. Thinking of you.

minxi · 26/11/2008 13:03

Oh this thread is busy busy!!!

Hello girls hope all is well with all....

Rainbowdays you must be mad to want and have a fourth, although it will be lovely have friends who have 4 under 7 and it is crazy... they have lots of help with family etc.... Baby Jak is v cute though! Hope all is well with you all and hope it happens soon!

Babylove I am sure the little one will be along soon, probably knows you are stressing so is keeping still - chill relax and get plenty of rest as once she is here there wont be so much time for all of that sending you hurry up vibes.....

MrsMcJ lovely to hear you are having a wee girl, hopefully the parents and everyone have calmed down now and you are enjoying your pregnancy. When is your due date ? Are you still enjoyting Spain? and Xavier is delish, cute baba!

Iamamummy hope things are working out with the discussions for number 2 - there is never a right time and so I guess if it happens I'm sure DF will be pleased.

Fettle hope all is well with you and yours and you have your pc up and running...

Greedy are you still crazy busy - have taken your idea about named laundry boxes - plan is in action, well need to buy the boxes yesterday - saw some lovely coloured ones in Asda the other day but thought would buy them another day, now could kick myself as should have just got them- my washing will never be so organised so thnak you for that tip!! Hope your lot are alright - any more holidays planned ?

Seaside sounds like you have your hands full - my DS1 didn't eat properly from about a year to nearly 3 years, used to worry me - made loads of lovely foods different things only to be wastedbut now he eats everything!! The only advice I can offer is there is no point getting mad (doesn't work you only upset yourself and have a screaming baby on your hands which then upsets you more as he is upset then too) just go with the flow - as long as they are taking fluids and or soemthing during the day like breakfast then I am sure he will be fine! Hope it works out!! Any plans for anymore?

Everyone else hello chooster honey hope you are all okay....

I am fine - am 25 weeks and am going in for c-sec 14 weeks today !!! Eek it comes round quick - just saw a thread saying about a Y in the scan box which somebody said meant boy so thought oh well another one- but apparently doesn't so still none the wiser was all set to go out and buy blue things!!! Bit strange not knowing what you are having as did with the other two DS's... Said to DH will have to take pink and blue outfit in and he said just take white bit boring really... might just sneek them in
Is everyone ready for Christmas? I have a few things left to get and loads of wrapping!!
Anyway must go have DS1 off sick today with a sick bug - nice, hopefully I don;t catch it!
Hope everyone is okay - will catch up again soon.....love to all

greedygreedyguzzler · 26/11/2008 13:51

poor little marcy wouldnt touch her dinner last night. she didnt want anything and kept batting it away. i tried a few different things and she wasnt interested so i was quite happy to leave her. unfortunately (!) my mum was over and couldnt bear to see her not eat anything at all, so she practically forcefed her some blueberries. i went in to get her at 7am this morning and she was covered in a spectacular blueberry vomit! poor little thing. what worries me is that when we checked on her at 11pm before going to bed she was fine, and she didnt make a sound all night (not that i heard anyway) and so she must have been sick in her sleep and hardly woken up. ellis used to do that sometimes too and it has always worried me a bit.

just had a friend phone and say she saw ellis at school and he looked really pale and not very well, so i rang the school and asked them to keep an eye on him. dont want 2 sick children today!

babylove - sweeps are a bit nasty aren't they! they normally do the trick though! and your rexflexologist sounds RUBBISH! glad you didnt go to see her. i reckon you will be in labour before you know it. good luck! i agree with honey by the way...................babys only come when they are ready.....................although having said that, i had gastroenteritis when due with kiki and i am sure all the vomiting and diahorrea irritated my uterus and kick started labour. wouldnt recommend that as a method though and im not convinced that all these other methods actuallky do anything! gives you something to do though while you are waiting! shall i send some pineapple over?!!....................hang on! i have just read on, sounds like you will be giving birth later on today babylove!!! sounds just like my first labour! keep walking and moving about!

OH MY GOD MINXI!!!!! you are NEVER 25 wks!!! cant believe how fast time flies when its someone else who is pg!!! wasnt me with the laundry boxes........it was rainbowdays! there is no way in a million years i would ever be that organised!!!

claim to fame!!!.................anyone see strictly come dancing on sat? see lisa snowdons nan? she is a patient of mine!!! wow! thats the taxi drver off the apprentice and lisa snowdons nan!!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 26/11/2008 13:55

i sounded really heartless in my last post about ellis didnt i?!!! im not honest! my friend asked him lots of times if he wanted to come home and if he felt ok and he said he was fine! im not really leaving my poor sick son at school!

another friends little boy had a febrile convulsion last thursday, so we have all been a bit paranoid since then at any slight sign of a temperature!

anyway must go!

greedygreedyguzzler · 26/11/2008 14:07

im not, honest! not, im not honest!!!!

honeyapple · 26/11/2008 18:41

named laundry boxes definitely doesnt sound like greedy ...

babylove- hope you are pushing as we speak- breath breath

minxi- hello love Yes I am pretty organised for christmas- lots of stuff shoved under my bed- although have nothing for any grown ups yet. Only doing my PIL and SIL and BIL- as we are staying with them in Austria and SIL said she was getting us something...

Dex has gone on strike on the walking front- he seems to have lost all interest which is a bit frustrating as it would be easier if he was walking especially in this cold horrid weather... ho hum musn't wish away my baby...

Who was talking about TV? Dex is not interested at all- just tried to sit with him and watch night garden but he screamed to get away... driving me mad emptying cupboards at the moment- do you lot have baby proof lock things? Thing is he just really likes emptying cupboards it seems a shame to stop him!

bye for now
x

minxi · 26/11/2008 20:26

oops thank you rainbowdays for laundry tips!!

Any other tips.. what about for getting presents wrapped I hate that arduous task!!

Chooster · 26/11/2008 20:46

Hey all, Aw poor Ellis, abandoned by his heartless mum . Hope he is doing OK and that little Kiki is better. Blueberry puke has to be one of the worst doesn't it? Theo adores them and often there's a blueberry mountain in his nappy! They can stay pretty whole throughout the journey . Max threw up in his sleep once - it can be really unnerving can't it.

Wonder if anything is happening with you babylove - as has been said this little one will pop out when she is good and ready. As annoying as it is your body generally knows when its right - which hopefully for you is now!!

Hi Minxi - 14 weeks to CS day - Wow, that seems so close!! Are your boys looking forward to xmas?

hi honeyapple - Theo is a cupboard emptier too! Like you I think he enjoys it so much that I kind of leave him to it, although I try to steer him towards the one thats got more Theo friendly things in, so he leaves the one with all the plates alone. The other day I managed to keep him occupied for a full hour with just a cheap pack of bendy straws - mkaes me wonder why I've bought all these presents! Am sure Dex will find his feet again soon .

All good here, took kids to a toyshop today to get a friends kids some presents and they had a deal on a photo session thing. So despite their dodgy ill matched clothes I thought I'd go for it. Theo was like a natural born model, full of smiles but Max was a little monkey, looking the wrong way and making funny faces - Anyway I get a photo out of it for £10 and I'm sure there must be one decent one in there. Of course I'll now get the hard sell about all the others, but I must be strong!

Glimmer · 26/11/2008 21:49

Hey everybody.
This one is a cheer to Babylove!!! The week before DS was born was the most difficult of my life. I did honestly not belief he would ever come. The thing is once things start you'll have your child within 24h or so one way or the other (I mean vaginal or CS). I really empathise.

Wave to everybody else.

Greedy - soory your son was sick. N does do the same - vomit in his sleep - and it freeks me out. He turns on his belly, though, so their instincts seem to work.

greedygreedyguzzler · 27/11/2008 15:04

what no mini babylove yet?!!! or should i say babybabylove?

had to share with you all that marcy has started taking a few steps too! about flippin' time i say!!! only 3 or 4 and then collapses on top of me, but its so cute and she seems so grown up now! she hasnt mastered the stairs yet though and for some reason i havent put a stair gate up at the bottom.

honey - are you implying that i am not the organised type! guess you are right!!! my laundry method id to hang it on the back of chairs and radiators until its dry or until someone is coming round and i have to scoop it all up and shove it somewhere quick!

greedygreedyguzzler · 27/11/2008 16:52

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/behaviour_development/656113-so-how-does-everyone-wipe-their-bottoms-then

contributions please from bodders, fettle, honey,rainbowdays...........actually anyone who wipes their own arse, not just you lot with girls!!!! !!!

seaside72 · 27/11/2008 21:22

I too have a cupboard emptier (and table clearer - not in a good way- everything just gets swiped or dropped onto the floor!). Cassius also does not watch TV! I am sure I will live to regret saying this but I wish he would watch something even for 5 minutes - having said that he stood in front of the TV about 12 inches from the screen and grinned through about 3 mins of Strictly Come Dancing last weekend!

Minxi - 25 weeks - wow can't believe it too! I was thinking this time last year I was 7 months pg - it just seems like yesterday

honey - thanks for the tip on little mouthfuls - Have been trying that and also using a small metal teaspoon rater than the plastic ones and putting the food just in his mouth not too far in iykwim - Anyway - he seems to be eating again this week and no vom so I am taking it slowly. He had double breakfast today which was good

babylove - poor you Take it easy and save up all that energy - you will be needing it! Like everyone said - I think babies just some when they are ready unfortunately!

greedy -Blueberry puke - and in her sleep poor little Marcy. But yay about the steps! LOL at your post and link - I have not looked yet but take it it is Marcy you are asking about! I saw Rachel's nan!! Her brothers look like the Mitchell's bros from Eastenders!

Chooster - you will have to post the photo on your profile

Another question- how much milk are you all giving now? I am still on 3 bottles a day -small one at wake up, 6oz in the afternoon and 8oz in the evening. When did everyone else drop the afternoon feed? Also greedy - did you just go from formula to normal milk at 1 year?

Fingers crossed babylove

greedygreedyguzzler · 28/11/2008 13:57

seaside - bottom wiping is for kiki not marcy! and i went onto cows milk at about 10 months with marcy cos i am lazy and a bit naughty and she had no probs at all........straight from the fridge down her throat!!! couldnt be easier. gave up afternoon bottle around 10 months too, she has water and fruit now instead.

iamamummy · 28/11/2008 15:30

hiya ladies

babylove sending you lots of contracting and pushing vibes for baby katelin to make an entrance into the world soon!! good luck xx

seaside - you and cassius are certainly getting more than your fair share of illness lately. poor things xx oscar still has 3 bottles a day 1 early morning, 1 afternoon and 1 bedtime. they are still supposed to have a pint a day arnt they, thought about cutting out the afternoon one but he has it to get him to nap. glad the eating is improving!!

minxi - wow 14 weeks and then your baby will be born, time has flown!! hope you are feeling well and your other two boys are looking forward to their new arrival too!

greedy - im a back to front girl myself but never 2 areas meet if u get my drift....cant you explain to kiki if she is having problems reaching doing it the correct way to wipe how she feels comfortable but to make sure both areas are done seperate? interesting about the milk too - did you put marcy onto whole milk and just warm it up?

who else is sterilising still? i got a look of horror off of all the mums at playgroup when i said i stopped sterilising everything at 7 months cos i didnt see the point. anything in sight went into oscars mouth and i felt as if i was fighting a losing battle so i just wash and rinse bottles etc from now on...am i wrong?

chooster - i hope you get some good snaps of your boys especially some of max pulling funny faces - they will be great to show him when he is older!

have a good weekend everyone! x

honeyapple · 28/11/2008 16:28

hiya

iamamummy- sterilising! Pah! What a waste of time!

Milk- Dex still has a bottle in the day if he wants one- he likes it! I don't understand about all this 'what you are supposed to do' malarky- do what your baby wants IMO. (Mind you my DS1 still had a bottle at age 3- which makes most people a bit twitchy- and a dummy at night till he was 6...!) Who cares! So long as they are eating etc and not getting full up on milk alone. Dex also has blue top milk (from 12mths) but I do take the chill off it in the microwave if it is going in a bottle- straight from fridge if in a cup...

babylove- hope you have your baby in your arms (guess no news is good news)

getting very excited about Xmas- where are the xmas emoticons??? Spent ages in poundstretcher today looking at all the cheap xmas decorations (didnt actually buy anything). Quite fancied a pink tree for DDs bedroom...

fettle · 28/11/2008 18:52

Been scanning, but not posting - sorry!

Greedy - you make me laugh - I'd never really thought about my toilet habits before, just did what I always do. Trying to work out what people were explaining in your thread was pretty confusing at times!!

Iamamummy - I sterilised everything religiously with DD as I didn'tknow any different. With Toby we stopped at around 1 year, but only ever did milk bottles nothing else. HV said to sterilise bottle tops as they can harbour milk residue, which can cause nasty tummy upset in babies.

Toby gave up afternoon bottle at around 10 months as I found I never had time to give it to him with collecting DD from school Bad mother! HE doesn't seem to be missing it, as he still doesn't eat that much in the evenings. Means he still wakes fro a bottle at some point in the evening/night from time to time. His tummy is rumbling so noisly when I go in, I haven't the heart to ignore him when he gets really upset as long as he has tried longenough to settle himself without milk. He went to cows milk from around 1 year too. Like Honey it has the chill taken off if in a bottle, but he happily has it cold from a cup. He will not even entertain the idea of a cup at bedtime or first thing in the morning - DD was on a cup by now and I know that I should be making Toby change, but he's so upset that I give in - he's very good at having his teeth brushed though to make up for it!

Babylove - hoping silence means you've got minibabylove!!

Sorry girls have to go - seem to have so much to do at the moment. Who ever thought that not working would actually be busier than full-time working!! Especially with Christmas coming - think we've done most of our shopping now - trying to find some duplo for Toby, but seems to be out of stock most places round here.

I promise I'll try and post more often and try and respond properly - feel a bit out of touch with you all at the mo.

Take care all
xxx

seaside72 · 28/11/2008 20:01

Just checking for any babybabylove news!

Sorry greedy - I meant kiki - doh ! read your thread - oh the joys of parenting eh!! For the record I am a long armed go around the back girl - never between the legs - just feels wrong!

Iammummy - I stopped sterilising at about 8 months - now I just put all bottles dismantled in the dishwasher. About once a week I put dummies and other bits in with a milton tablet (cold water sterilising)

waves to fettle - I must check out the xmas decs in poundland!

honey - like your thinking re the "what you are supposed to do" Previously I have been led by Cassius on giving up feeds - he just seems to gradually get disinterested in them so I drop them. I think I will keep the afternoon one for a while as his weight has flatlined recently (he is only just 18lb and dropping below 9th centile now)

Better go - dinner is ready

MrsMcJnr · 28/11/2008 22:32

Hey ladies shamelessly checking for Babylove news sending lots of vibes for you Babylove hope everyone else is ok and promise to catch up properly soon
