Butterfly - it IS going to all right. I promise.

It is perfectly natural to be fucking terrified a bit apprehensive when birth is imminent, but it is all going to be well.

take a deep breath.

and let it out.

again.
again.

Any pains or anything since passing the clot?

FrannyandZooey · 11/07/2008 19:10

gawd you know we are on the homepage
might have said slightly less about sex with dp if I had considered that

squonk /f and z

thanks so much for those calming words - i actually need some re assurance - i will re read those words a few times before the night is out

i feel so bloody nervous and freezing cold....

i know it may not be yet but its definitely imminent and i think it is this realisation that instills such fear in me

i used to be good at this - i get worse instead of better...

anyone got any twinges to focus my mind away from unadulterated egocentrism!

ButterflyMcQueen · 11/07/2008 19:17

no pain at all....

its now i wish i had a doula

FrannyandZooey · 11/07/2008 19:19

no twinges but when I walked upstairs earlier it felt like I had a watermelon in between my legs

Butterfly you are on the verge of something enormous and wonderful
of course you have some anxieties
can you have a bath or try a relaxation tape or do you use homeopathic remedies or anything?

I can't wait to hear about your baby, who will be here soon

FrannyandZooey · 11/07/2008 19:20

zippitippitoes · 11/07/2008 19:20

oh the watermelon

i had that with dd2

for ab out a fortnight she was two weeks late

but then didnt bother with the labour bit at all

in fact now i come to think of it that is what she has been like all her life about two weeks late

ButterflyMcQueen · 11/07/2008 19:23

yes franny thankyou

bricking it that waters will go because it is scary for me from thereonin

scared re bath as membranes gone- infection? i know this is illogical as waters still intact...

ho hum

franny you are quite far over now it is all quite probable ......

fryalot · 11/07/2008 19:24

I also think we will have a baby butterfly (caterpillar?) very soon.

For nine whole months you are excited and looking forward to the baby, and looking forward to the day you are in labour and the baby is coming.

Then when it is finally happening, you think "oh shit, I'm having a BAAAAAAAAAYBEEEEEEE"

But try to get past that, and focus again on the lovely bundle of scrumptiousness that you will be holding in your arms SO soon.

Picture your cervix like a bud, just about to ripen. With each contraction (I know you're not having them yet, but you will be soon) imagine that bud opening up little by little until soon you have a whole flower

FrannyandZooey · 11/07/2008 19:24

I don't know about the infection thing
did you ask them when they did it?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 11/07/2008 19:25

hoorah for squonk
I love you rocking

fryalot · 11/07/2008 19:26

There is absolutely no problem whatsoever with you having a bath, butterfly.

It is recommended in fact.

Have a bath, walk around, sit on your ball... whatever makes you the most comfortable.

fryalot · 11/07/2008 20:05

have you had a bath?

or were you just watching corrie?

sweetkitty · 11/07/2008 22:18

Oh butterfly I so know how you are feeling you do everything to get them out then when you think they are finally coming you are like "no go back in again I'll just stay pregnant forever it's fine"

It does get worse each time though, first time for me blissful ignorance, second time thought I would be more calm and serene (ha f ha), now this time I am realistic. No more SPD and feeling like crap is what keeps me going plus that lovely little newborn craddled up to me and the knowledge I will never go through labour again.

Have done nothing to get the baby out tonight, don't want her out (reverse physcolology (spp?)

amazonianadventure · 11/07/2008 22:19

how are you all now girls?

ButterflyMcQueen · 11/07/2008 22:27

am eating a whole toblerone on return from large meal with all extras at pizza express

more relaxed it was good not to focus on impending doom for a while

is hatrick still with us?

sweetkitty · 11/07/2008 22:29

mmm pizza express wish we had one close

Butterfly - all we can do is hope it's fast once we are out the other end all will be fine.

FrannyandZooey · 11/07/2008 22:29

I think everyone is still with us
I am huge and things twang, but nothing happens

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 11/07/2008 22:52

"are you still here?"
"any sign yet?"
"aww won't be long now?"
"that baby must be comfy in there"
"have you tried sex/raspberry leaf/walk/curry/bath (delete as appropriate)?"
"my cousins brothers wives auntie went 63 days overdue!"

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Evening all, still here. Getting desperate enough to suggest dh might like to get it on with something that looks like this. Spend every evening with the baby going mad (dh swore he could feel little toes sticking out last night - bit of an Alien moment).
Good night all, hope someone has a baby through the night!

PS Ta Squonk - you're a pal. Maybe best stick to the melted cheese rolls from now on though - it is Franny's thread after all so I'll try and stick by the rules
