I'm only 24 weeks (today) but went overdue with both my other two so I think I'm allowed to come and wallow and keep you all company

I was 10 days over with DD then 11 days over with DS - induced both times so fully expect the same to happen again- now in a different county and have been told they don't induce at 10 days they induce at 14 - I'm telling everybody that I'll have it mid November rather than end October (when I'm due) so that I won't have that crushing disappointment every day when I wake up and realise I didn't go into labour during the night. Who knows whether it will work though.

I remember with DD, at 7 days over, my Mum phoned and asked if I was ok, I burst into tears and shrieked " of course I'm not fucking alright, I have people phoning all the time to ask if the baby is coming, if I ring DH at work, whoever answers the phone will gasp and shout "get DH QUICK, its MamaG" and he will rush to the phone whilst I sit here seething thinkign FUCK OFFFFF"

Mum was quiet for about 5 seconds and said "I'm on my way. WE'll go somewhere nice for lunch. Don't answer the phone" and she didn't even tell me off for say ing fuck twice!

Agree fake bacon is awful (fellow veggie here)

MamaG · 10/07/2008 12:10

oh and I saw on a t hread t'other day that someone said "oh have you not gone into labour yet franny?" or similar and I winced

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 12:14

oh it is constant isn't it
I mean on here I always feel rather gratified as I am flattered the person has even remembered let alone bothered to ask
but in RL it gets painful and you do want to do swearing
I think I will have lost all my friends by the time I have this baby as I am so grumpy
your mother is a sensible woman - is she available for hire?

MamaG · 10/07/2008 12:22

I have to tell you that my Mum DID continue to ring daily

I left the answerphone on at one point and had a flurry of messages "hello its Sue. Just seeing if anythings happenning..uummm you're not answering so hopefully taht means you've started "

No, Sue, it means I'm sitting on the sofa feeling tearful and that I could cheerfully stab someone with a pitchfork!

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 12:27

LOL oh dear

I am glad it is not just me
feeling quite perky today anyway because I have had this weeny little show
but SOMETHING HAPPENED

OP posts:
MamaG · 10/07/2008 12:31

Yes, I know what you mean about somehting happening. In the grand scheme of things its teeny tiny small, but SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED

Just think to yourself - you're not going to be sat here in 2 weeks, still pregnant

One thing I remembr most from being overdue with DS was people saying "just relax and rest while you can" - I snapped "I have a 4 year old in the house. I can't rest and relax"

I too was an utter viper when overdue (compared to my usual saintly self, natch)

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 10/07/2008 12:33

Just popping in to see how you are all doing.

A show F&Z is a v good sign, I'm glad it's perked up your day. I prescribe some sex tonight , my theory being the show will mean the sperm/hormones will have less cervix to soften/penetrate! Or, how do you feel about a s&s?

Anybody know how WMMC is? Has she had the baby?

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 12:43

I am a bit sore - have been sore with spd but this feels sorer - bit like someone is poking my cervix tbh
not sure I am amenable to sex under these circumstances

am booked for sweep on monday
I wish it was called something else
I feel like a chimney
a friend said "are they going to do a scrape - oh I mean sweep" ouch

Star6 - I am totally ROFLing at you ROLFing!!

Still here. Still haven't plucked up the courage for rudeness with DH.

Is DS's 3rd birthday today so am trying to be happy, fun mummy instead of 'moan on the sofa' mummy.

Have also turned into viper from hell. Poor, poor people who ask us 'Still here?' on a daily basis. Every time they do it, I am tempted to just tell them to f**k off. How awful.

MamaG · 10/07/2008 13:14

Have you had a sweep before? I had one with DS and it was ok, not painful just a smidge uncomfortable (but I didn't have any pelvic discomfort)

fryalot · 10/07/2008 13:18

if it makes you feel any better I will make a post saying "oh, are you all still here?" and you can all vent your frustrations on me. Tell me to fuck off as many times as you like, I won't take offence (probably)

Tis a small gesture, but a sacrifice I am prepared to make on your behalf.

PeachyBAHons · 10/07/2008 13:20

oooh you all have my sympathies, was where you are 3 months ago (swear y epo meself)

whinge freely, you atre entitled

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 14:19

I had one with ds, yes MamaG
it did work, but I fancy it less this time, with the pelvic pain

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 16:19

my fanjo kind of aches
nothing else happening

OP posts:
fryalot · 10/07/2008 16:20

aching fanjo is good.

Does it feel a bit like pressure?

has the mw told you whether the head is engaged or not yet?

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 16:21

it just feels like aching
my midwife never checks the head (thank god as that feeling of someone DIGGING in to your pubis is horrid) but I saw a different one the other week and she said 3/5

OP posts:
fryalot · 10/07/2008 16:35

iirc from dd1 (14.5 years ago!!!) when the head is engaged it feels achy down there and sort of post coital. Twas still a couple of weeks for me before I had her.

BUT... I went into labour very shortly after my first show. Same with dd2, show first then labour, then baby.

Remind me, how many do you have already? this isn't number 1 is it?

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 16:44

no I have a ds already
it does feel a bit tender but I have mild spd and that has mostly manifested as inflamed feelings in pelvic / vaginal area anyway

OP posts:
fryalot · 10/07/2008 16:45

ah.

Yes, I was fairly sure you already had a ds. Did you labour spontaneously with him?

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 16:46

not really - had a sweep on day 9, had him day 10

OP posts:
fryalot · 10/07/2008 16:47

do you know what this one is?

FabioTheTimeLordCatOfGallifrey · 10/07/2008 16:48

I have just been to the shops and bought a fish [irony] what tells fortunes.
I am going to get it out of its bag and ask it when your baby will put in an appearance.

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 16:49

squonk nooooo
a lovely surprise
(ds fed up of being asked what he thinks, has started saying "a tiger" )

Fabio go for it

OP posts:
FabioTheTimeLordCatOfGallifrey · 10/07/2008 16:50

Ah.
Fortune telling fish says 'place on palm of hand and its movements will indicate
moving head - jealousy
moving tail - indifference
moving head and tail - in love
curling sides - fickle
turns over - false
curls up entirely - passionate

I am unsure of how to proceed.
